The 17 Best Restaurants in Dakar, Senegal | Eater

"It’s easy to become a regular at Kotao Coffee, especially since brunch is served every day. At two locations, one in Plateau and one in Les Almadies, the cafe offers relaxing vibes paired with fresh, homemade goods. Everything on the menu may sound tempting, but go for hits like the perky, savory waffle topped with avocado, turkey bacon, poached eggs, and creamy lemon sauce, or the bo-bun bowl with rice vermicelli, stir-fried beef, onions, and crushed peanuts. You don’t want to miss the banana bread with chocolate chips or the caramel macchiato." - Yasmine Fofana

Chop Stay Love

The portions are generous, and some dishes really offer great value. The burger is my top pick: juicy, flavorful, with delicious homemade chips. The Caesar salad is also great , and the salmon poke was okay but a bit lacking in flavor. The macchiato is always a reliable pick me up and the freshly squeezed orange juice is a great brunch add-on. I did try the American breakfast once and didn’t enjoy it—it felt underwhelming compared to the rest of the menu but it’s not a reason to not come back. Service is prompt, friendly and helpful. The ambiance is gorgeous and the place is very popular which is a great sign! Definitely recommended

This cafe is a short walk to/from the U.S. Embassy, a grocery store and the sea. The cafe is comfortable and intimate. However it does not strike me as a cafe where you could work and study. I didn’t see outlets or tables appropriate for working on a computer or writing. I ordered a snack - a slice of pineapple cake and a cup of cappuccino. The cake was dry. In fact, the texture of the cask was thick like bread. I did not enjoy this item. It cost 2 thousand cifa. I do not recommend the dry (or stale) pineapple cake/bread. The cappuccino was decent. I prefer dark roast coffee with body ody ody, but this coffee was bland and without nuance. Nevertheless it served its purpose by washing down the dry cake/bread. The customer service was relatively good. Meaning the employees seemed to work well together and they were kind to customers. However they should not have served that dry cake. I will neither return nor recommend this venue, but if you are jonsing for a cup of coffee and anything will do, then go to Kotao Coffee.

Delightfully curated spot in the middle of town, with only 2 vegan dishes, both highly recommended- the falafel quinoa bowls. The juices are off- the- charts rich and thrumming with a melange of contrasting flavors-and then you can check out the organic food store and art gallery in the complex.

Loved the food here. The taste, the presentation, the huge portion sizes. Some meals actually come with drinks so be sure to check before you purchase drinks on the side. The service was also on point and our waiter could speak English as well so made ordering easy. Awesome place to have breakfast and brunch. Highly recommend!

A quaint place to be with friends and family for brunch/ lunch. The brunch portion size i ordered was quite big. The pancakes and waffles weren't as sweet to my liking, but there is the option to drizzle honey on top to taste. It has both indoor with AC and outdoor seating.

Nice coffee selection, cozy ambiance. Nice guys working there. Missed some specialty coffee choices or more pastries, but good overwise.

The American Brunch was good and filling. My favorite thing was the orange juice which was freshly squeezed and refreshing. The waitress was nice and we managed to communicate even though her English was bad and my French was bad
