UPDATE:
MY RESPONSE TO THE MANAGEMENT/OWNER-
Sorry Alison, it really isn't a "specialty dish" as in Germany it's mainly food you get after a night out, or as a quick cheap snack. Furthermore, this "dish" is eaten daily by modest people such as construction workers that pay no more than 5 euros for a doner kebab that comes with fries and a soda. So sorry, I don't think that your meat is anything special and I definitely don't think that it should cost as much as a steak at a restaurant. The fact that the sauces are homemade and the pide bread is made from a Turkish bakery also means nothing to me. Bread is the food of the people - it shouldn't cost more than a few cents to make. And lastly, the fact that you claim that the "prices reflect the cost of living in New York" is also nonsense. That is just code for "We do not sell enough doner kebabs so we need to raise our prices." Or maybe you just really want to get rich by selling doner kebabs, which if true, would also explain your absurd prices. Or it just might mean that you can't afford to stay open. It ultimately doesn't matter as I'm sure the rich hipsters of Brooklyn will think that they are very cool by eating it and will happily pay that much money. However, do you think a shop that sells bagels in New York City for 3-4 max $5 would claim what you are claiming? No, because everyone here knows what bagels are worth and they would be shut down if they had high prices like you have because no one would go there.
