Where to Eat Middle Eastern Food in San Diego - Eater San Diego

"With its intimate atmosphere and decor (think low-slung sofas, lanterns, and pillows), Kous Kous does delicious beautifully presented mid-priced Moroccan food including tagines, salads, and kabobs. There are family-style Moroccan feasts and a weekday happy hour (5 to 6 p.m.) with $1 tapas and $5 beers, too." - Keri Bridgwater

Absolutely amazing!! Hands down the BEST restaurant we ate at during our trip. Our waiter (Paul) is the owner/chef's brother. He was very attentive and helpful. He recommended the lamb tagine so I went with that. It was the best lamb I've ever had. The meat fell off of the bone with a spoon. It was so incredibly flavorful I couldn't believe it! The garlic mashed potatoes it came with were out of this world! I had it with their take on Sangria (the Morro) which was delicious!! My mom got the chicken tagine which was good but a little on the dry side. I think if it weren't cooked with the bone it would have been more juicy. The flavor was good but it couldn't compete with the lamb. The only thing I wasn't in love with was the bread. I'm a bread addict but it was a little off for me. The flavor was a little bland and the consistency wasn't my favorite. Overall it didn't matter because the lamb stole the show! I loved the decor and vibe of the restaurant as well. We'll be sure to stop by the next time we're in town.

One of the best Moroccan food restaurants I've ever tried. My family is from Morocco and this was a must try for us while visiting San Diego. The food tastes homemade. The cocktails are delicious. This is one of the few restaurants I've been to and didn't have a single disappointment. Service and atmosphere is wonderful. Highly recommend!

Great taste of Moroccan food. The service was great! I loved the decor of the restaurant. I will be coming back! 👌 only thing, the cocktails not strong at all but very still delicious just need more alcohol. I would come here for food again!

Had a great experience dinning at this venue. The food was amazing and the ambiance was perfect. We ended up getting the group meal for two and left with plenty of leftovers. The service was great and they mentioned having live music Fridays and Saturday’s.

Food was just fantastic! Honestly I was afraid I wasn't going to like it but ultimately turned out to be delicious. Ask for Louise, she took really great care of me and made excellent recommendation! Must not miss.

Had the Beef Tagine, Cous cous, and Harira soup. It was amazing! The Beef Tagine was very tender, rich with flavor, and a had decent portion of meat. I am definitely coming back whenever I am in San Diego.

This is such a fun place for celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or having a romantic dinner. The food and drinks are always delicious! I was there celebrating a birthday. The lamb chops are cooked to perfection as well as the saffron rice, chicken tangin and drinks!. The Moroccan sangria is yummy as well as the Moroccan Kiss! The atmosphere and ambiance really adds to the eating experience!

Great atmosphere and amazing food. If it's your first time for Moraccan food, flip the menu to the back and order the Moraccan Feast #1. Everything was fresh and delicious. The owner is very friendly and greets everyone in the restaurant. Very authentic and inexpensive. Order the sweet mint iced tea.
