Google
I recently visited this new sushi restaurant and was impressed by how clean and welcoming the space felt. The atmosphere was fresh and modern, and it’s clear the team put care into the setup. Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the setting, my drink order never arrived, and I ended up finding a small piece of metal in my miso soup, which I think came from a cleaning scrubber. It really took away from what could have been an enjoyable meal. I truly hope this was just an isolated mistake, as the restaurant has great potential if they can tighten up their service and food safety.

Google
I tried Kouyou Sushi for the first time today and ordered several types of salmon nigiri along with a dessert. Everything was impressive! The salmon was incredibly fresh and tender, with a buttery texture that almost melted in my mouth. The versions topped with cheese or sauce added a nice twist — the creamy flavor paired beautifully with the richness of the salmon. The rice was perfectly seasoned and held together well without being too hard or too soft. The dessert was a pleasant surprise — delicate, not overly sweet, and a perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was clean and cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this spot if you’re a salmon lover!

Google
I recently dropped by Kouyou Sushi, and it’s hands‑down one of the coolest sushi experiences in Seattle. Located at 823 5th Ave N in the Queen Anne neighborhood, this place stands out. Right from the start — the vibe is fun. They advertise themselves as Seattle’s “first double‑track sushi experience,” and they seriously deliver: one conveyor belt for grab‑and‑go plates, and a bullet‑train‑style “mini train” delivering made‑to‑order rolls. The novelty is more than gimmick — it actually works. The menu is loaded with great options: you’ll find classic rolls and sashimi, but also creative signatures and fresh takes. The environment is casual, modern, and perfect whether you’re solo dining or out with friends. What really impressed me: the food still holds up. The fish was fresh, the combinations interesting, and the presentation fun (yes, I watched the sushi arrive on the little train). The service was friendly and efficient. If I were to suggest a tagline: “Great sushi + fun delivery system + good vibes”. Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or just eager for something a little different, Kouyou Sushi is definitely worth checking out. I’ll happily go back.

Google
The restaurant is super new and very clean/esthetic, but the service was pretty minimal considering we were one of three tables dining in. Food was hit or miss. The ramen was excellent, I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. The sushi was really a mixed bag, some items were great (scallops nigiri was soooo fresh) and others missed the mark (salmon and saba nigiri were super thinly sliced). Considering other sushi options in the area, I'm not sure I'd come back for sushi alone. But the ramen I would come back for. The conveyor belt is also a hit with the kids and makes the dining experience fun (despite the lack of actual service).

Google
🍣 Delicious and fresh bullet train sushi. The restaurant is clean and staff is friendly, which is always a good bonus to see in any sushi conveyor/bullet train restaurant. The chicken kaarage was also surprisingly flavourful. Definitely one of the better restaurants in the area. One of the most exciting new restaurants in uptown. I hope they expand the roll menu because a lot of the more interesting options had cream cheese.

Google
Went alone since 5 pm when they just opened for dinner on a Monday. First one in so got a seat right away. All orders are done on a tablet. All food is served on the conveyor. Only services received from a human are drinks and any extra support such as requesting for lime or a takeout box. Food came out great; hot and fresh. Miso soup has ample tofu and seaweed, not just soup. Tempura is crispy and not soggy. The ingredients taste good and fresh. Gave a 3-star for food as the taste and quantity somewhat did not fit the price and nothing super impressive. Rolls are pretty small; 4-piece with thin slices of fish. Tempura shrimp are not mushy(fresh) but small. Great service as the servers care for the customers' experience. Gave a 3-star for atmosphere for the unfitting music and the slightly too loud volume. Overall, good place. Would come again.

Google
It was good, but just a tad bit pricy. I didn't love the California rolls which had too much roe for my liking (all over) and it was not possible to remove & edamame had seasoning and was a little heavy. However, the takoyaki was hot & delicious and the gyoza was very crispy. Ebi niguri and avocado rolls were also great. They do have a very tight little parking lot behind the building if you are lucky enough to find space. Otherwise, it will be paid parking, street or otherwise. I ordered takeout, but I think it might have been more enjoyable as a dine in. The waitress was friendly and the place was very clean.

Google
This place was not great. Was recommended by an influencer as a “conveyor belt sushi” that had a “bullet train”. The sushi was mid and even after big orders, it took an enormously long time. I was under the impression that since it was “conveyor belt” that sushi would keep going but it was not. On top of that it was $5 for almost every roll (4 pieces per roll) but they were super full of rice. The tacos were interesting idea but did not fulfill at all. I would not recommend.

Yelp
Such a fun sushi experience, thanks to the conveyor belt food delivery! Bites are little, so I loved that we could sample a bunch and keep ordering while we ate. Each new order we made on the table iPad came out super fast. This place is tucked away but is very clean and quiet. Lots of booth and high top seating, perfect for small groups or solo dining. The iPad ordering system coupled with the conveyor belt food delivery made for minimal staff interactions, which I personally liked. Fun concept with tasty, inexpensive bites. I'll be back!

Yelp
Conveyor belt sushi has returned to Seattle! This place is adorable, offering both a bullet train and a sleek modern conveyor belt. TVs with cartoons make you feel like you're at Blue C in 2008. Kids loved it! Food was pretty good too, menu is creative.

Yelp
We went for dinner and this place was so quiet. There were like 3 or 4 other tables only. I'm not sure if it's the location or people don't like the food, but I actually thought the sushi was decent. You order your sushi on an iPad and a conveyor belt brings it out to you. I liked that much better than waiting for a conveyor belt to come around. The sushi is definitely decent and I would come back .. it's just not amazing 5/5 sushi... I'd give it like a 3.5 or 4 in terms of their sushi taste/quality. One thing I wished they served was Udon, but it's not the end of the world that they don't. Overall I'd probably return here, this place is decent enough and I love not waiting in line. It might be a little pricey compared toother places though. My friend and I went and ended up spending a little over $100.. and I don't think we drank alcohol or anything so that was just food.

Yelp
My partner & I had been here twice now, and both times we were seated in the far back corner by the bathrooms. The food has been really good both times & comes to our table pretty fast. However, the service isn't the best. I'm not sure if it's because we got seated in the back, but they forgot about our water cups, utensils, ginger/wasabi, etc. We had to ask our servers twice but still didn't get it until my partner went up to ask after 45 mins of waiting. Getting our check also took very long. The servers also never once came up to us to check how we were doing. I highly recommend this place, but if you go I would ask to not get seated in the back or they will forget about you.

Yelp
Heard about a new belt sushi place (not revolving, just belt delivered to you) and had to try it out Came for a Friday night dinner and it was pretty empty. The place itself is bright, open, and minimal. The tables are also spaced out quite a bit, so it feels pretty private. I like their tablet ordering system. Each item gives a good description of ingredients which I liked. Service is good as well -- just filling up waters and taking away empty plates. We ordered a variety of nigiri and the crab tempura. The nigiri themselves were not bad. Salmon was good, scallops were moderately good, uni was terrible but why would you expect otherwise. I surprisingly really liked their scallop truffle piece. The snow crab tempura was delicious, but wish they gave more pieces, especially given the almost $20 price tag The Shinkansen delivered sushi is cute, but there's 2 belts serving each table and the train only runs on one belt, so not guaranteed you'll get the train every order. Overall, okay. There are some interesting pieces like ones with truffle. But there's ones with cheese, mango... are.. questionable? Fish quality is an okay hit or a miss and prices are a bit steep especially for the quality.

Yelp
Two stars because the food was ok for what it is, fast food conveyor sushi. The bowl was the best thing. Only reason why I didn't give it a higher rating was because the bathroom was disgusting. My friend and I had to use paper towels to wipe ourselves. All the stalls had no TP. We had to leave in trash so toilets won't clog. And the floor was so sticky my shoes were sticking to the floor. I'm just glad I ate before seeing all this or I would've just walked out.

Yelp
I was disappointed with the food here. A lot of the rolls seem to have cream cheese added which feels kinda odd and white washed. I also saw like mango slices and cheese on top of some of their nigiri's which looked weird but I haven't tried myself. The tonkatsu ramen we ordered had a light broth that didn't taste like traditional tonkatsu broth. The bamboo shoots tasted really off too. I can't even describe it and I wasn't sure if it was normal or if we got canned rotten bamboo shoots or something. The meat was also dry. I think the best part of the food was the tempura as it tasted good with a lot of crunch in it. The taco wasn't bad either with a good crunch to them. The pricing wasn't worth coming here for me as you can find better options elsewhere.
google avatar

Tammy H.

Yelp
Came here for the little train system, left pretty disappointed. All of the food we ordered was really mediocre, pretty bland. The ramen had bamboo shoots that tasted really off, and the pork slices were dry, not tender. The broth tasted flavorless. Felt like a lot of the flavors catered towards a western palate (lots of American cheese and cream cheese involved). Prices didn't feel justified for the mid flavors and portions. Ambiance was great though, very clean and cute. Service was fine

Yelp
The unique part of this dining experience is getting nigiri with fancy stuff like caviar, foie gras, or truffle served on a Shinkansen-shaped tray from the conveyer belt. With the decor, table and tablet designs, and so forth, It feels like a Japan experience. And the food is truly good. I'm impressed by their unique flavor combinations. But the options are quite limited and hopefully just because they're still new. (Also, not enough business to really justify having more on the menu yet.) I recommend giving it a try, but you shouldn't look at it like a traditional conveyer belt sushi restaurant; it's meant to be premium and different, with the average plate costing $6.90 and it's the price that deters me the most. I had no problem with wait times or staff. In fact, they were really nice and lovely to talk to.

Yelp
What have we here? "Seattle's first double-track sushi experience". Excellent food, we went the day it opened - one day after their soft opening (still got a free tuna nigiri though!). As a group of four we tried many things! You order on an iPad and the food comes whizzing out shortly. On the upper track, it arrives on a bullet-train-looking tray. Fun. For soup we had Tonkotsu Ramen (w/ perfectly cooked egg) and Braised Pork Ribs Udon. Couldn't really tell the difference between their ramen noodle and udon noodle - they seemed the same. Presentations were different though. Deep-fried nori on the tonkotsu was a nice touch. We had the Tempura Moriawase - "Moriawase" (盛り合わせ) translates to "assortment" or "platter" in English. It was a nice assortment, and the shrimp got good reviews from our group. Sushi was Tuna Nigiri (free!), Aloha Roll (pricey!), Spicy Tuna Maki (yum), and Rainbow Roll. All good. We also got the tuna handroll (Temaki - 手巻き). Spicy tuna was uniformly nice and spicy. And finally strawberry mochi for dessert. Five stars because they're brand new and all the prepared food was super tasty. ROOM FOR IMPROVMENT YOU ASK? Sure! 1. provide little plates to each customer please so sushi can be shared. We were eating over the tables like chumps. 2. Fresh ginger please! This red fake stuff won't fly. 3. If you have TVs (they have 2 here), please consider having the audio OFF and closed caption ON. We can watch TV with the sound on at home! 4. Optional: this is Seattle, so they may want to reconsider having fox news blasting on one of the TVs. I mean, if you must, just have it muted with CC on, that way everyone can laugh at the absurd nonsense they air.

Yelp
Went in for Sunday dinner around 6PM. No wait. Very clean space m. Similar to Kura but friendlier price point and I liked the iPad ordering where you can pass the iPad around unlike Kura. Hit or miss for some items. But have a lot of options for people you don't eat raw food. I personally really liked the beef sushi with truffle.

Yelp
This place succeeded my expectations especially as a conveyor belt sushi spot. The prices in my opinion were very friendly. Very easy ordering system. My favorite was their truffle items. My second favorite things were their tacos. Overall great spot I highly recommend and would come back.

Yelp
Great hidden gem. Whether it's for a quick bite or dinner, the environment is perfect for the family. You also can't beat the quality and price.

Joselyn N.

Yelp
The menu options were limited compared to other sushi places I've been to. The rolls we had were fine but were lacking that flavor that makes a bite very satisfying. My favorite items were the unagi taco and the salmon avocado sushi. Everything else felt basic in flavor and texture. The interior is nice clean and new! And the bullet train conveyor belt is cute.

Yelp
I saw a reel for this place a few months ago and when I found myself in the area I figured I'd check it out. This place ended up being my favorite part of the day. It was such a fun experience and the food was really good! Along with being well priced and great service I'll definitely be stopping by again. Your sushi also gets delivered on the Shinkansen so what's there not to like!
google avatar

Angel N.

Yelp
Ambiance is amazing, you can tell this place just opened up and everything is nice and clean. Service as well was very attentive. The menu itself had mixed reviews for me. To me.. most of the rolls had a similar taste between them all. A spicy roll needs to be added to the mix. As for the sushi the salmon avocado was good but I was looking for a seared salmon( add this to the menu!!) as for the chicken karaage it needed a lemon slice to give zest. If I could give 3.5 stars I would. I'd come back to try the ramen.

Yelp
The food was yummy but I absolutely hate that you order on a computer. You order from a computer and then a little train brings the food. The train is cute. I find the computer system extremely impersonal and you can't even comment on the order to customize. For instance, I don't like cucumbers, but there's no option to type in preferences. That all said, I'm only going to remove one star for the stupid computer thing, because I think the food is actually pretty decent.

Yelp
No one greeted us the restaurant was vastly empty (about 4 - 6 tables seated) Got in line, there was already about three parties ahead. After standing there for 10min being ignored by staff, I asked if anyone else in line had received acknowledgement or time frame of potentially getting sat. no one had. All staff were avoiding the growing line. Had to flag down, very directly, someone to ask what was happening or if they were still seating? She said they just needed time. i'm unsure if this mix up is because they are new or just vastly understaffed. I didn't see much of the way of dishes being served, they were cleaning up and refilling drinks. They did state to new people coming in after that it would be 45min to an hour wait. (again most the tables were empty, didn't say why or tell previous customers either) also its street only parking with of course very ambiguous parking conditions ‍ in any case, I'd like to be able to try this place I've heard about but as thing are right now it's a big red flag nope for me. Sorry!

Yelp
My family took me here and I was blown away. So fresh so good!! Truly superior experience.

Yelp
Fun conveyor belt sushi experience. The rolls were good at a great price and they had an opening BOGO special.

Tam W.

Yelp
Some of the sushi had no flavor, the rice was poorly made, and the overall selection was very limited. I thought minced tuna sushi would at least be decent, but the dull color already showed it wasn't fresh. One bite confirmed it -- so bad I had to spit it out. Some items were passable, but this place is definitely one of the worst sushi spots I've tried.

Marcin

Yelp
The delivery system is very cute. The food is alright and fun to order in little portions. Interaction is minimal, perfect for introverts. Only point of criticism is the weirdly uninviting lighting. It feels quite sterile. Happy to come back to check out the ramen.

Lauren U.

Yelp
I don't like raw fish... but THIS, I like! I also shared a full video on TikTok, Instagram and Youtube if you want to see the vibe + food in action! TikTok (@laurenhara1): https://www.tiktok.com/@laurenhara1/video/7522932694121041182 Instagram (@lalalalauren): https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLqBkNGyzxa/?igsh=MXViMGdsa3pnMWVreQ%3D%3D Youtube (@lalalalaurenu): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EtAewDUR8rE But here's the skinny: I am not a huge fan of raw fish, but I enjoyed everything I ate at Kouyou sushi (including the raw fish)! Everything seemed fresh and thoughtful prepared. The standout for me were the sushi tacos! Such a unique dish visually, but I also appreciated the harmony of all the textures - crispy shell, soft rice and crunchy vegetables. We went around 5pm on a Wednesday and did not have to wait. The food also started coming out quickly on the little conveyor belt, so we got to start eating pretty immediately. The staff were also very attentive, clearing our plates frequently (to make more space) and bringing us the bill soon after we asked for it. A wonderful experience!

Nathan K.

Yelp
great service and prices! Very clean look to the restaurant! I love how fast the service is! If you want something fast and yummy I would totally recommend this spot!
google avatar

Ally K.

Yelp
Took my kids here for lunch and its pretty good. We ordered rolls and ramen. Place clean, good prices, I'm glad we have a new restaurant in the neighborhood. We'll be back!

Eugene G.

Yelp
It's worth going here just for the experience. There is something really fun about seeing a miniature train coming towards you with a plate of food. I think their rolls selection can be increased. I was sorry to see almost nothing without shellfish in it. We both enjoyed the dessert. The price is a bit higher than I expect given the highly automated system they have.

Sammy F.

Yelp
Idk what to even say about this place. Honestly the place is very boring. The food was not tasty at all. The portions were very small and basic. We spent over $100 with very little food. We had to stop at another spot to actually get food food. I highly do not recommend

A. L.

Yelp
I will start by saying the food was very good; very fresh. The pace of serving was incredibly slow. we were only served one dish at a time from the conveyor belt even though we ordered multiple dishes at the same time.....one dish every twelve minutes does not cut it for me....The lighting could use some dimming and kinda sterile furnishing. Worst thing is...no alcohol....which meant nothing to ease my pangs of hunger while I waited for the next meager delivery. Also, seems like the delivery orders took precedence over in-house patrons. We will not be going back....

Julia V.

Yelp
Very fun experience and the food is great too. The sushi flavors are much more subtle than typical American sushi flavors, but they really remind me of my experience eating at similar restaurants in Japan. The service was great and attentive. I also appreciate the inclusion of things like Boss coffee. I feel like if they served drinks like sake, umeshu, Asahi, lemon sours, highballs, and melon sodas, the experience would be a lot more authentic and fun, but it was great either way.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
The wait was so long; it took 10 minutes for soup, and it wasn't even that good, and the portions for the sushi were not that much for a lot of money. The 2 things that were good were the staff and the interior. If you came here to fill your stomach, I wouldn't recommend it.

Erin J. G.

Yelp
I saw a clip on TikTok and thought this would be a fun place to go with my young niece because of the fun conveyer belt delivery. Not only were the iPad ordering and belt delivery super easy and entertaining, but the food was really, REALLY good. The miso soup was some of the best we've had, the snow white roll and rainbow roll were delicious, as was the nigiri. This place is pretty new so wanted to make sure to give them a shoutout.

Peter J.

Yelp
Decent food, fun gimmick but wait times were long and food was mid at best for the crazy prices (4 pieces of sushi for $8+). You're better going to any of the other, better sushi options nearby.
