They have a late night walk up window. $7 for one slice of cheese pizza. It was decent.

Google
A Five-Star Experience at Kouzina Angelinas Pizzeria - Shaw DC! Kouzina Angelinas Pizzeria in Shaw DC is an absolute must-try, especially thanks to the incredible service from George and Michael! From the moment we walked in, they made us feel like family. George's recommendations were spot-on, leading us to some of the most delicious pizza we've had in D.C., while Michael ensured everything ran smoothly with his attentive and friendly demeanor. Their combined efforts created a truly exceptional dining experience. The food was fantastic, but it was George and Michael who truly made our visit five-star worthy. We'll definitely be back!

Google
The pizza was delicious! Hit the spot and reasonably priced for the size of the slice. Mikel (I hope that's how his name is spelled) was absolutely wonderful. He found out we were from out of town and recommended lots of places for us to check out. It was so nice and well received. Thanks, Mikel, for being so kind to us. :)

Google
If you're ever in DC...this is a must try mom and pop Pizza place!!! Whole pizzas or sold by the slice (huge slices) perfect amounts of sauce:cheese ratio on thin crust. Owners are very down to earth friendly. My personal opinion....BEST price in town.

Kipp

Google
Great pizza. Don't know about the price cause we'd had 4 strong cocktails. Service was excellent smd so was the food! Goofed large double slices. DC pizza at its finest!

Riyaad Azad

Google
Best pizza ever. It’s like 100x better than pizza in NYC. Just trust me. Just a block away from Kiki’s bar. Thin crust and perfect. Michael is the best.

Tessa Phillips

Google
Best pizza in town! Ask for buffalo chicken, if she has it, its mind blowing. Recently expanded menu with crinkle fries and steak and cheeses. Made with the same love, care and deliciousness as the yum!! See photo below. Doesn't get much better!

Google
Pizza is good. Product really speaks for it’s self. I took a chance on this place 3am in the morning after a night out in town. The order line was outside the door. After getting my first slice and taking a couple bites I see why there was crowd. If you like pizza then do yourself a favor and try this spot.

Yelp
Extremely greasy so it was perfect for coming back from the bars. Open late and the pizza slice was ready in less than 2 min. I got the pepperoni slice and the total came out to $7 Will def go back.
google avatar

Jusbel O.

Yelp
Mediocre pizza with subpar service. Avoid at all costs unless you want to pay $7 for a single slice of "jumbo" cheese pizza with NO toppings. The gentleman working as the cashier was rude, short, and dismissive to not only me but others in line.
google avatar

Julissa G.

Yelp
This place is fantastic if you are looking for a quick, late-night bite. If I had to pick a place to satisfy drink hunger, I would definitely come to this small and traditional spot. There's only 2 options on the menu: cheese or pepperoni hand tossed pizza, so the line moves quick. You can either get a jumbo slice (equivalent of 2 normal slices) or a whole pie. Pizza is really greasy if that's your style and the crust is firm but soft, just how I like it. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
The perfect pizza. I live in SE, and i would gladly travel to NW just to get a slice of this pizza. The service is swift and with the smile and warmth of the owner. It's like having your very own Nonna. She makes the whole experience. Please, for the love of all holy pizza...Mangiara.

Yelp
Came across this pizza shop walking back to my car after a show at the Howard Theater. It was actually better than I thought. I got a jumbo slice of Pepperoni for $7. It's actually the size of 2. It's really greasy but it's that good grease to soak up the alcohol :/ lol! Not too bad though. Let's just say I don't think my pizza made it to the car. Quick and very convenient and they are open late!

Yelp
Visited this nice little spot after a concert around the 930 club, i heard there girls saying this was the best pizza around so naturally had to check it out! Right on the corner and super accessible by the metro so i didn't miss it! HUGE slices definitely be portion of two and i choose pepperoni. Not too greasy, extremely flavorful, and the crust was cooked to (my) perfection! Quick and efficient the gentleman was slanging slices left and right. Located in a lively neighborhood loved the little small NY feeling of it! Worth stopping by and the the owners were super sweet.
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
If you're hungry, the slice is big and will fill you up. The crust was pretty good. Pepperoni was greasy but ok, which is good because it's the only flavoring the slice had. A shake of parmesan or oregano would have done wonders for the slice, but there's none in sight. No menu either. The slice appeared to ring up at $7. If you're in the neighborhood and hungry for something flavorful that will fill you up and won't break the bank, there's a CVS nearby that's probably well stocked with peanut butter pretzel nuggets.

Yelp
This pizza place is always open and always delicious! The lady who runs this place has a great business going on. The pizza is always fresh and tasty. This joint is frequented by the late night party crowd. On a really busy weekend night, you may have to wait in line. It's worth it, though. Cost for two giant slices of pizza was $13. I couldn't finish my slice because it was so big.
google avatar

Yelp
It's 3 am on a Friday night, where else are you going to go to get greasy pizza on U street? There's always a line but it moves fairly quick. Only two pizza choices - cheese and pepperoni, so don't take too long trying to decide :-)

Andrew C.

Yelp
The pizza slices at Kouzina Angelinas are generously sized, but they come with a hefty price tag of $7 each. This isn't prominently mentioned until after you've navigated the crowd and waited for your turn. Would I return? Possibly, but it wouldn't be my first choice due to the pricing surprise.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is the best kouZina angelina or to me and my concert friends better known as gay pizza due to the big lgbt flag hanging outside is a dc must! One its ran by the sweetest woman ever who literally remembers you whether you're a regular or came once she will remember! Also the pizza is so good i am hard pressed to find good pizza in the dmv as a native new yorker and this is one to go for!! Please come and support! Its the best to have a slice right after a show at the 930 or after a night out of overpriced drinks unanswered thirst texts or taps or wherever the night took you this should be your last stop
google avatar

Shawn B.

Yelp
If you looking for pizza late at night this is the place to go. The place slaps after the bar or club. Unfortunately, there might be a little wait to get inside but it's definitely worth it. The slices are big and hot, right off the press. Definitely stop by and get you a slice or two.
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
Best pizza I've had in a long time! I had 1am pregnancy cravings and my hubby went out to get me two jumbo slices! TORCH!!!! It was about $13 for both. The Ingredients were superior. Definitely tastes better than chain restaurants. I couldn't take any pics because I DEVOURED it. Definitely a 10/10 recommendation. I will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best pizzas in the DC Metro area. Every time we're in DC with the need for a quick late night munchies, this is the spot.
google avatar

Kelly G.

Yelp
Super expensive and arrived just warm but the flavor was really good. Even after microwaving it.
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
This pizza is so good, and easily my favorite NY style pizza in DC... One star is missing because I don't know how many times I've opened Uber eats only to see they aren't taking orders! Kouzina, you've missed a lot of sales from me!

Joe K.

Yelp
Worst service and attitude I've ever encountered. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Not coming back

Yelp
You know when you're turnt more than a doorknob and eat at a pizza place, love it, but then the next morning wonder whether you ACTUALLY loved it? This is that type of pizza place, and believe me, you'll love it the next dI got the half cheese half pepperoni pizza during the COVID pandemic. It was delivered very quickly. I loved that the pizza was not too bready and not too cheese. It was just the right amount I ordered pizza from this location again on 7/23/2020 and I first called the location. The owner of the place answered and explained how much she appreciated my business and appreciates all of her customers! Speaking to her was very heartfelt and moving. You don't have these types of conversations with a lot of business owners. Genuine care and love for customers makes a big difference in taste. And the taste is amazing I'll tell you. Perfect proportion of sauce, cheese, and bread!
google avatar

Nina Z.

Yelp
Ordered to late night pizza from here. Great jumbo slices, reasonably priced and delivered on time.

Nelson R.

Yelp
We rolled up after a show at DC9, and met Angelina herself, who lives up to her name!! One of the best slices in DC.
google avatar

Jackie V.

Yelp
The owner and her son are so kind and loving towards customers! Great pizza for lunch or dinner with a fair price Their hours have changed and they are open 10 AM - 9 PM. They are also now on delivery apps. Let support their business!! LGBTQ allies!
google avatar

Yelp
Okay-so this may not be the most authentic fire roasted artisan pizza you'll ever eat. But for a jumbo slice (really like two slices) on U street when you've been drinking at a bar nearby, it's actually pretty good. When you get in the door they'll ask you if you want plain or pepperoni. They have drinks in the cooler in case you need to rehydrate. Then you cough up $5 and wait for your slice! And let's be honest. $5 for a quick meal/snack in the District is a bargain. Plus they take cards in case you spent all your cash at the last bar... Bottom Line: Easy peasy! Will stop by next time in the area late at night.

Yelp
Given that D.C. has nothing even remotely comparable to a NY slice, I would say this place comes the closest. Amazing drunk or sober. Also in a pretty good spot. Food (7/10): Large slices with perfect flop and great sauce to cheese ratio. Atmosphere (2/10): What you'd expect for a whole in the wall drunk spot. Not complaining, though, it's perfect for a post happy hour slice before going out some more or for late night drunk eats. Service (6/10): The lady who works there (the owner?) is so sweet and cute. Always makes sure we get our pizza quickly and enjoy it.

Yelp
$7 for a slice of pepperoni pizza?! The pizza was on par with any frozen grocery store slice. I can't imagine getting a subpar slice from this store when I could walk over to 7-11 and be equally dissatisfied for 1/10 the price. Do not waste your money here.
google avatar

Yelp
The best pizza in the DC area. I'm surprised there aren't more places that do NYC style pizza. I wish we had 99 cent pizza like NYC but this is the closest thing to it. I've dined in once after a night out and got a jumbo slice and it was so good, had to get another! Tired of chains I saw that they delivered pies, XL 18 inch for $20.00. I got it delivered and paid extra 99 cents for priority because I like my pizza fresh and hot. The pizza tastes good and it's the perfect thin foldable pizza with good flavor. 4 stars instead of 5 because it wasn't as warm as I expected it to be and they didn't not include any plates like requested. I definitely recommend this place and would order again.
google avatar

Yumi R.

Yelp
Angelina and family really appreciate and care about their customers, and their pizza is so good! Gooey cheese, perfect "flop" balanced sauce, chewy crust. It is absolutely drool-worthy. I got a whole pepperoni pie for myself and did not regret it at all. Truly sweet folks who take pride in their food. Highly recommend their pizza Let's support them as they've supported all of us on our drunken crawls along U street. They are also LGBTQ allies. FOOD 5 SERVICE 5 AMBIANCE (N/A .. it's COVID ....) VALUE 5 Overall 5

Yelp
This review is specifically based on after-bar food. There is no better place that I would rather stuff my face after indulging in over-priced drinks and good times. Kouzina Angelinas is a small-family owned restaurant that has mastered the art of quick fire cheap pizza. I am honestly amazed at how they are able to ship out pizzas that quick and still have them tasting good. They have gotten a process down pat and are able to get you a slice within a minute. In the time spent waiting your credit card/cash is being handled and you are all set and ready to go. Once you bite into the Pizza your taste buds are screaming and you're salivary glands are going into overdrive. ANY time I am on U street I am going to Jumbo Slice and getting a slice or two. 1 Slice is $5 and a whole pie is $20. Can't beat it.

Yelp
My favorite pizza spot in DC I love this place and have became a regular that i usually forget to check in lol. Great parking spot and even greater location. It's located in a great area where all the college students be and party spots. Hard to miss and not wanna visit. $5 Jumbo Slices (Cheese or Pepperoni) The pizza has a thin crust but still soft inside and then cheese is similar to New York style along with the taste and slice size. I always get a cheese slice and top it off with garlic powder and a lil bit of red crushed peppers. The customer service is beyond amazing! It's a family owned place and the workers are so sweet and down to earth. They always welcome you with smiles and warmth. They accept Cash , Credit Cards and even Apple Pay Special Pizza Slice bags made to fit and keep your slice safe and warm. Overall, i love this place and it has became a second home. Angelina is the best, i love her heart and spirits.

Yelp
"I like pizza. I eat pizza. We all ate pizza. Sometimes we at too much pizza. I like pizza." $5 per jumbo slice (as the name implies) or $20 for a whole pie. Pizza is tasty and you choose between plain or pepperoni. Lots of drunks in the area of the U Street Corridor later at night and there's always a line. The old lady behind the counter is nice enough if you aren't too drunk or difficult with your order. The guys in the back pop out with your pizza in a reasonable amount of time. I honestly don't know if there's anything else on the menu. This review is shorter than most. you're welcome.

Yelp
I've got to just take a moment to let the folks here know that their pizza is clutch. The first time I had a slice here, it was super late night and couldn't tell if the deliciousness was due to the depth of my hunger and the novel delight that is late night grease joints. However, after tasting it again I can confirm that this pizza is truly just my type. They may not be anything outside of the norm for their slices to be rather large. On the late night pizza spectrum, the slices here are more like a size smedium compared to Jumbo Slice. However, one slice is still about the size of two normal size pizza slices. Also, much like other late night pizza spots, you've only got two choices - cheese or pepperoni (which for most people should be sufficient.) But what I love most about this pizza is that it's not at all soggy. The crust is delicious and crisp, but not too thin - the dough has got just the right amount of mass to it for it to really stand out. The rest of the sauce to cheese ratio is also perfect, making each bite memorable. On the weekends, the line can be pretty crazy so if you want no parts of that like me, then I suggest you drop by on a weekday.

Alfred T.

Yelp
Best late night pizza ever! The service is great; Angelina and her son really cares about their customers and the greater community. Their pizza is great too! Try them out!

Alex Z.

Yelp
Best late night pizza in all of DC! Service is truly unmatched! You will never need another spot

Yelp
Ordered late NYE and was not disappointed. Really great pizza. The slightly greasy, foldable slices were delicious. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Great late night pizza. The workers are good people too, would recommend for a late night quick eat
google avatar

Yelp
Best no frills local pizza place in town, hands down! The owner (AKA Momma) is one of the most heart warming people you'll ever meet. Their business took a hit with a large night club closing almost two years ago and now with COVID-19, but she still remains resilient and is serving amazing food. Update: They also now serve cheesesteaks and subs! So much tastier and cheaper than other options nearby!
google avatar

Cameron D.

Yelp
Always a great place to grab Pizza in DC! Great friendly service and Angelina is the best!!
google avatar

Shane S.

Yelp
If you're out for a late night and need a bite to eat, I highly recommend stopping by Kouzina's. She's an absolute angel who will treat you like family. The pizza is always piping hot, wonderful crisp, and the cheese pulls when you take a bite. If you're looking to feed multiple folks, the half pepp & half cheese oughta do it.
google avatar

Christy C.

Yelp
Pizza slices are massive and are perfect post-bar snacks! As previous reviewers have mentioned, it's unclear if the actual pizza is tasty or if it's because you're just looking for some greasy food. The pizza slices are on the thinner side, so you don't have to worry about it being overly dough-y. When we arrived there was a bit of a line, but don't worry, it moves pretty quick. Definitely a grab and go type of place - don't expect to sit down and to eat your pizza there!

J F.

Yelp
This used to be one of my favorite go to spots in the city. Especially it being on U st by all the bars made it very convenient and at the time it was $5 for a slice and the choices were much more to choice from. Now the pizza is $7 along with a fee if you're paying with card & the drinks went from $1 to $2. So with the slice of pizza and a drink that would normally cost $6 now cost 9$ almost $10 with the card fee included. Angelina also got a bad attitude when I asked about the price change and how there weren't anymore options other than cheese or pepperoni. Unfortunately won't be going back, not sure if they have changed the quality of ingredients but I woke up with a stomach ache- there are plenty of other pizza places up the road that have great pricing and more selection.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
Jumbo Slice is convenient located by the pop up bar in Shaw. It is a great place for a quick bite and and great late night option. Not to add that pizza is a great way to sober up. The options were Cheese or Pepperoni. It's $5 a jumbo slice. We ordered two slices of Pepperoni Pizza. The slices were piping hot and surprisingly very tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Best pizza in DC/ northern VA PERIOD! Perfect combination of crisp, sauce and cheese... generous with the toppings too. Reminds me of NY pizza. Angelina herself is an angel and provides the best hospitality. Truly a breath of fresh air!

Red B.

Yelp
Kind of curious there's only XL and 10" unless we overlooked something. The XL feels a bit like a gimmick because it was the thinnest pizza I've ever had in my life. Even the sad thin crust pizzas in the frozen food aisle feel thicker. My partner's pizza was absolutely drenched in the middle. A soggy mess that was completely inedible. It wasn't grease either but possibly the spinach on the pizza that soaked it down. Tossed the entire thing, which I don't know if I've ever done for a pizza in 25 odd years of eating pizza roughly once a week. Reviews seem overall good, so maybe we had bad luck, but definitely was a disappointing experience.
google avatar

Mary Kate E.

Yelp
Personally, I loved this place. The location is ideal for people who have a drunken hunger craving after clubbing at Town or Nellie's, gay establishments, respectfully. It's a no frills straight forward place. $5 a slice with an option of cheese or pepperoni. I am not sure if they offer more options, but on my particular night, it was only these 2. There is ample stool seating for dining in, or you can take it to-go. 1. Get in line 2. Pay via cash or credit 3. Get slice of pizza 4. Leave or dine in They have large thin slices by the slice or by the pie.

Yelp
I am so happy to have discovered this place! During a late night of studying, I had a sudden craving of pizza and I was glad to see there was a family owned pizza shop near me. The pizza came extremely fast and tasted amazing. I shared the half cheese, half pepperoni with my roommate who also raved about the pizza. It was simple, super yummy, and perfect to fulfill a late night craving. Definitely my new go to spot for quick, delicious pizza!

Yelp
Amazing 2am pizza, amazing 8pm pizza. Overall great pizza, great service. $5 a slice. A must on a night out
google avatar

Richard G.

Yelp
A lifesaver. Simply put. Blood sugar was running low while walking to my car and the restaurant was right there with their delightful pizza smell at 2:45am. To be frank, I wasn't expecting much, but what I got was more than I could ask for. Thank you! Not terribly expensive and the slice is generous!
google avatar

Winnie L.

Yelp
Hungry while out drinking and nearby? Jumbo Slice Pizza got your back! I was in the area the other night with a group of friends bar hopping and came across this pizza place. They only have two options: Cheese Pizza or Pepperoni Pizza. $5 each and the slice is HUGE (about twice the size of the regular one). Good late night snack when you are drinking!
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
Solid drunk pizza. Main man gave me free ranch so I'd def go back. Would recommend as drunk food fo sho.
google avatar

Silvie C.

Yelp
I heard some music booming on a random street corner while leaving a show at Flash. I ran towards the tunes and found myself swathed in fluorescent lighting streaming through Angelina's windows. My friends and I were so thankful that the pizza gods planted a pizza place a block away from the club. Maybe the pizza was mediocre, I'm not sure, but it sure saved us. The lady working that night, Angelina, I'm hoping, was very hospitable even at 2 AM on a Wednesday. Angelina, if you're reading this, thank you for selling pizza for $5 by the jumbo slice. Thank you for feeding degenerate drunk millennials into the late hours of the night. We all thank you.

Yelp
The rating is based on being hungry and heading there after a concert at the 9:30 Club. The pizza is pretty cheap at $5 for a huge slice of pepperoni or cheese and tasted fresh. It wasn't amazing, but solid pizza that was better than I expected with a tasty sauce and the right amount of cheese. No frills here, your slice comes on a paper plate. They were really friendly but napkins weren't around anyplace which was a little weird. You might see some ambience here, one really drunk girl kept trying to hug the cashier.
