"Koval Distillery celebrated its 10th birthday in 2018 and plans to open a new tasting room and cafe at 4241 N. Ravenswood by the end of the year. Known for its whiskies, gins, and other organic spirits, Koval purchased the building in 2017, expanding from 11,000 square feet to more than 40,000 square feet, with the goal of eventually moving all operations south. The new space will have a cold kitchen serving small bites inspired by international travels and should include a patio. Koval distributes internationally and enjoys popularity as a local option for bartenders, branding itself as Chicago’s first distillery since Prohibition. The new tasting room is designed by Dando Projects, and more details will be released later this year. Koval is part of Malt Row, an area that includes several other breweries." - Ashok Selvam
