Google
Seriously, the best I have ever had in my life, & absolutely reasonably priced for what you get. It’s fresh, high quality, and everything you could ever want in sushi. They have hot food which also looks fabulous, but we have yet to get past the sushi & sashimi because it’s just that good. The wait staff is lovely, quick, attentive & efficient. We drive 40 minutes just one way to treat ourselves every once in awhile, they truly ruined all other sushi for us. If you want to be impressed and/or impress your date, give it a try!

Google
Koya Sushi was a delightful experience. If you can go on a Saturday, you can also catch the local market from time to time. Fish was fresh along with the rolls we ordered! Servers were very nice and had quick service!

Well prepared, Great tasting food. We ordered some ventilation that came with sushi, salad, miso soup, rice, and chicken katsu with mango rice wine 🍷. The staff was very attentive and kind. The place is small. However, it gave them the opportunity to prepare everything in their own kitchen. Will be back again, and thank you

Google
Really enjoy the quality and presentation of their sushi. One of my favorite sushi restaurants in the greater Portland metro. We enjoy the standard Nigiri and for rolls our favorite are the PDX and the Hawaiian rolls. Their toro nigiri is beautiful and tastes wonderful.

I got the rainbow roll… OMG it was the most beautiful platter of sushi I’ve ever seen. We taste with our eyes first but when I actually tried some… I had to control myself from audibly gasping from the flavors. Like I’m literally salivating right now thinking about how good it was. Our server was very nice and accommodating I would absolutely recommend trying this place out. It was giving Quality🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾

Google
Very rare for me to give 5s across the board but this place got it Made a reservation for 9 to celebrate a birthday Highly recommend reservations as there was a waiting line out the door the entire time we were there Friendly and patient staff Food was top notch Restaurant was nice and provided plates and utensils as we enjoyed our birthday dessert outside to free up our table I really enjoyed my pork katsu bento box Everyone enjoyed their meals including the two kids Drinks were refreshing Definitely check out this place!

Google
Quality of fish was so fresh and delicious! Reminded me of sushi in Japan. The scallops, salmon, and tuna were our favorites. Presentation was fancy and service was great!

Google
I love the food! My family tried Koya last year. I wanted to try more dishes so we came this year for another celebration. We're not from Oregon and I thought about Koya when I knew we were visiting again. The restaurant is small but the lightning and atmosphere makes it quaint and palatable. Service is good, but when it gets busy, you may have to ask again. It does get busy cuz the food is delicious, so go early.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped for dinner on our way to Grand Lodge after seeing the reviews on Yelp and we were so happy we did. The location is so cute and truly authentic. We ordered the monster roll and house roll as well as the Japanese chicken appetizer and all of it was amazing! The effort they put into their presentation is AMAZING! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
I met a friend here for lunch on New Year's Day. Because of the holiday downtown Beaverton was very quiet so parking was plentiful. When I entered the restaurant I was promptly greeted and seated. I ordered a hot tea and perused the menu while waiting for my friend to arrive. There was only one other table seated, so the restaurant was quiet, but vibrant due to the party of 4 and the friendly staff. The menu was slightly overwhelming, in the best way possible , with so many options of delicious rolls. We opted to start with the Sunomono salad (pickled cucumber) and then chose 3 rolls, the PDX (spicy tuna, seared salmon), the Fuji (spicy scallop) and the Shrimp Crunch (shrimp tempura, crab). Every item was beautiful, fresh and tasted so incredible! It's hard to choose a favorite because each item was unique. My only regret is not ordering more. I look forward to returning so I can try more beautiful rolls!

Yelp
Ambiance: small quant place, music not too loud, good date night spot Service: service is fast (10-15 min for sushi). The server was so sweet and checked in often to ensure we were taken care of Food: surf & turf was delicious. Didn't need any soy sauce. It had a hint of sriracha and a sweet sauce the sushi sat on. So yummy. Perfectly cooked rice! Just awesome

Yelp
I was looking for sushi places in Beaverton and the 5 stars Koya has caught my eye. We came on a Friday evening around 7pm and there was about a 30 minute wait. The restaurant is on the smaller side and it was a full house. Koya has an extensive menu of sushi (sashimi, nigiri, specialty and classic rolls), donburi, katsu, curry, and appetizers. Their sushi has quite a variety with tempura rolls, baked rolls, and even vegetarian rolls. Koya looked like the jack of all trades, and I was excited to give this place a try. We ordered Hang Ten Roll, PDX Roll, and Spicy Salmon Roll. Service was friendly and efficient and our orders came out a few minutes after ordering. Despite the 5 star review, I thought everything was just ok. The rolls tasted good, but the quality was not 5 star worthy imo. I've had better sushi in Portland. While the presentation was beautiful, the quality of the sushi preparation seemed a bit haphazard. Would I drive out of my way to come back? Probably not. Would I come back if I was in the area again? Probably. Perhaps my expectations were too high. But I am down to give them another try in the future.

Yelp
I have never been to a restaurant where I have wanted to order everything again. Here's our list: Hamachi crispy rice, Kobe beef negimaki, spicy garlic edamame, gyoza, chicken karaage, albacore & crispy onion, red eye and ninja roll Every single thing was the best of that thing I have ever eaten. I could eat the hamachi crispy rice every day. The albacore & crispy onion was beyond. I don't think anything could go wrong on this menu.

Yelp
My favorite sushi spot in Beaverton. The fish is always so fresh and I love that they have Toro! Not many places around here serve Toro and it is always so fresh and generous cuts! My favorite roll is the Samurai and try out the specials if you can! Service is always fast and the waitresses are so nice. When my family comes to town i always have to take them here:) It can get busy on the weekends for dinner so be aware

Yelp
This is an excellent and exceptional Japanese restaurant! I had a marvelous time here. The food choices had several different things that I hadn't seen on other sushi restaurant menus. Monkfish liver was something I haven't seen for years and I'm thrilled to have seen it now. Black Cod was absolutely delicious and the accompanying sauce was a beautiful compliment to it. The service was exceptional. I really enjoyed myself.
google avatar

Yelp
Firstly, the sushi is outstanding! We were constantly looking at the orders brought to other tables and wondering what it was... because we wanted it too! The presentation s were all ! Service was friendly. Ambiance was charming. Will definitely return!

Yelp
There's not much to dislike... fresh seafood, fast moving servers, reasonable pricing and beautiful presentation. With presentation being probably their biggest strength. But the hype around making the national top 100 by Yelp while acceptable, and deserving, I feel other places nearby can rival it on price, freshness, fish thickness servings and variety. So it's definitely worth a visit, but it's not a must try where one is willing to wait 30+ min just to get a seat. Just go during non peak hours. Outdoor seating is available when the weather is good which makes for faster seating at times. It's on my list, but it's not something I have to have and my first go-to. That's still the one on 185th and Baseline.

Yelp
Unexpectedly stopped in for lunch today and I am so glad I did! Everything from food to service was incredible. Upon arriving, we were greeted and seated immediately (it was a Wednesday morning). We ordered a bunch of rolls, nigiri, and carpaccio which all came out pretty fast. All the fish tasted super fresh and fairly priced. I would def come again.
google avatar

Yelp
Best sushi in Beaverton and rivals the best places in Portland. High quality fish. I love their Premium Nigiri Combination. Quality compares to Momoyama, Yama Sushi, Masu and Murata. It's premium, so it is a little more expensive than your average place in Beaverton. The prices are comparable to the places mentioned above, so it's not overpriced. Service can be slow when it's busy.

Yelp
Oh man after my first visit this place hasn't met the same expectations. Since my first time and first review I've came here two more times and each time it's been a bit disappointing. We ordered the spicy edamame which was definitely spicy but really good. We also had the sakura roll, baked seafood roll, ninja and hurricane. The baked roll wasn't really raw not sure what was actually baked. Also the hurricane wasn't even torched. The spicy tuna is really red which usually good spicy tuna isn't so it takes away from the freshness. The service is also a hit or miss. It's pretty inconsistent in service and quality of food. So disappointed, not sure I will be back. Off to find a better sushi restaurant.

Yelp
Staff was friendly when we arrived. The dining room is modern with seating both inside and out. We ordered the Chicken Karaage, it was ample sized and delicious. We ordered 3 bento boxes and Chirashi. Everyone was happy with the portions and excellent quality of the food. Everything was delicious!

Yelp
A definite hidden gem located in downtown Beaverton - Koya Sushi checks all the boxes. When my family of 5 entered we were greeted with a huge smile and a hug! The staff was so attentive and quick. We arrived right at 5pm (opening time for dinner service) so we were sat right away. I would recommend coming early as it took about 30 minutes before the entire restaurant was full. We ordered 5 rolls and 3 appetizers. The chefs are on fire. We received our first appetizer in less than a minute and the rest of our food within 5 minutes. The ingredients are so fresh, plated beautifully - seriously everything was chefs kiss! I'd come back again and again. The fam gave it all 5 stars.

Yelp
Ate lunch at Koya Sushi in Central Beaverton. Being a Japanese American, I found the menu selections to be excellent. The presentation artful, quality to be top tier, and atmosphere was clean, modern with a bright vibe. The dining area was small with a long sushi bar so I would assume at dinner time the tables and bar fill up quickly. We started off with one of Koya Rolls called Red Eye Roll (delicious and fresh). I ordered the Bento Box w/3-piece nigiri sushi and Pork Katsu. My wife ordered the Bento Box /Cali roll and Tofu Teriyaki. Our orders were delicious, fresh, and plentiful. Service was friendly, attentive, and outstanding. Note: They did not have their own parking lot, street parking only. The parking wasn't an issue for us, we found a 2-hour spot two blocks away. We would return again for the pure artful presentation, freshness of the ingredients and excellent customer service

Yelp
We come here at least twice a month. Everything is great and highly recommended. Fish quality is always good. Their Pork Cutlet Curry is one of the best in Portland area. I would not miss their Agedashi Tofu as well. One of the best Japanese restaurant in Portland.
google avatar

Erin K.

Yelp
My sister highly recommended Koya Sushi for dinner and now I can also recommend it. We went around an hour before closing on a Saturday night and surprisingly got sat immediately. They were so nice and accommodating. The restaurant is on the smaller side but they have a nice sushi counter where you can watch them make the sushi. Also for bigger parties they have outdoor seating as well. We ordered the bento which included chicken teriyaki and accompanied by a California Roll. We also ordered the Rainbow Roll and the Toro Toro Sushi. Everything was so delicious and fresh. My favorite was the Toro Toro Roll because it was full of flavor and a little spicy and the chicken teriyaki had a great teriyaki flavor as well. I understand why this place has five stars, they have amazing fresh quality sushi and meals for everyone.

Yelp
So good it was hard to get a picture before eating. Great service and great location.
google avatar

Yelp
Must try. Love their premium chirashi and their rolls. I was surprised that soft shell crab came with tempura. Delicious Japanese food; worth to wait for the chirashi bowl, rest came quickly. Noisy during peak hours.

Yelp
We went here for dinner today with an infant. They were kind enough to give us the corner table to accommodate our stroller. It wasn't too busy on a Thursday night. The staff were kind and greeted us warmly. The service was good. We ordered baked green mussels and chicken karaage for appetizers. For sushi we ordered PDX, house sushi and kamakazi which were all very delicious. We had a wonderful time! Would love to try the pork tonkotsu next time we visit.

Yelp
great quality sushi around the beaverton area! service is great and the ambiance is super casual!

Yelp
This is my Beaverton go to location for sushi. Good selection of special rolls and Nigiri. Small location that fills up fast when they open. Service is great here too.

Yelp
10/10! This is my second time visiting Koya and surely it did not disappoint! If you're looking for fresh & quality sushi, this is the spot for you. The service is always amazing and the ladies are super attentive. The quality of the fish is something that is not easily found anywhere. The presentation/plating and flavors just make every dish absolutely perfect. My friend ordered the shogun tower $22. Fun appetizer that is good to share or even filling enough to eat as an entree. She paired that with the eel that she drooled over! No complaints from her! I ordered the small sashimi $45, 15 pieces, which were thickly sliced and so fresh! In addition to the sashimi, i was so excited to try the uni spoons $32! When I say that it was the most pleasant flavor explosion... i could have sat there all day clearing my wallet to get multiple orders. Overall, i highly recommend this restaurant. I feel that items are fairly priced for the amazing quality of the fish! I can't wait to bring more people to this location.

Shawana L.

Yelp
Second time reviewing this restaurant, Koya doesn't cease to impress!!! We ordered even more this time - toro special, hamachi Kama and salmon Kama, toro toro roll, house roll, chefs sashimi. The Hurricane is still my favorite roll and the sashimi is so fresh!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Have to tell you that this is an easy 5 out of 5! My wife and I chose to come here for our 15th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The service was excellent with 3 different servers taking care of us throughout our meal, each kind and super efficient. The food was fantastic with excellent meal starters (dinner salads, karaage chicken, and edamame), perhaps the beat karaage I have ever eaten, fresh tender chicken and perfectly cooked, crispy batter. We ordered the "PDX roll," which featured spicy tuna, a crispy shrimp tempura roll, and a 16-piece sashimi plate, which was beyond amazing. The iced green tea and lemonade were the perfect complement to our food. You can't stress enough how excellent the service was from the initial call about their outdoor seating (which is plentiful and shared with other great restaurants in this blocked off area in Beaverton, Oregon). Get here! You will leave very impressed and as happy as we are!

Yelp
First time and the food is incredible! Ordered the sushi combination A, everything came out tasting fresh & delicious. Miso soup was good & the California roll was sooo tasty! Would definitely recommend to my friends :)
google avatar

Yelp
Koya sushi may very well be the best sushi/ Japanese restaurant in Portland! It's definitely a solid five star place for me. The food, service and ambience are all outstanding. My friend and I visited Koya for lunch today. We were warmly greeted upon entering and allowed to choose our table. Service was friendly and efficient throughout our entire meal. We started off with two beers. Sapporo for my friend and Asahi (my fave beer) for me. We each ordered a bento meal, which came with a choice of roll, miso soup, salad, gyoza, tempura, rice and entree. A great value for all the food we received. Every item was delicious and fresh. The menu is extensive and offers something for everyone. There is even a section for vegetarian sushi rolls. The dining area is right before the sushi bar. Large windows give the place lots of natural daylight. The decor is charming. I can't wait to return to Koya Sushi for another fabulous meal. Highly recommed!
google avatar

Yelp
The sushi is always amazing here! So fresh and great customer service. I would recommend 10/10 for sure!!!!

Yelp
Decided to stop by here while at the farmers market today. Needless to say we were happy we did. Small seating area inside, but you are able to watch the sushi be rolled right there. There also happens to be some outside seating too. We were greeted very nicely by two waitresses and seated immediately. We ordered a Cucumber Salad a Veggie Tempura Roll and some Veggie Yakisoba. The pickled cucumber salad was awesome. They also did something I haven't seen before, they removed the soft middles of the cucumbers. Which I believe kept them from getting mushy. The tempura veggies were perfect. Lightly breaded, cooked to the point where they still had some bite to them. Rolled tight, and came out quickly. Also, the yakisoba was done very well. I do think I could have done with a little more veggies in it (a little too much zucchini and not enough broccoli for me). Overall a very good lunch. 8.9/10 will definitely be back.
google avatar

Matthew J.

Yelp
Without question THE BEST sushi we've had since moving to PDX. Top notch food and service. 100% recommend. 10/10
google avatar

Jonathan Y.

Yelp
We were seated pretty quickly on a thursday night. The vibe was very calm and relaxing with soft music playing. The waitresses were both really nice. Almost seemed like a mother and daughter. We got some nigiris, scorpion roll, lobster roll, and demon slayer sake. The scorpion roll is a must get. The rolls were very good and topped with a marinated soft shell crab like bundle. There was also a small bowl full of more toppings to indulge on. The nigiris were all exceptional with the tuna standing out the most. It just melted in our mouths. We ordered the demon slayer sake which was 25$ on the menu for a 300mL bottle but for some reason got a bigger bottle about 700mL and quite a bit more pricey. We weren't sure how that happened but we were able to take the remainder home. Really good!
google avatar

Jim A.

Yelp
Small place that turns out dishes fast. Super friendly staff. Everything was delicious. Definitely going to be coming back soon
google avatar

Joanne C.

Yelp
Great service and fresh sushi! What we ordered: hamachi, salmon, bluefin tuna nigiri, PDX roll, and futomaki I normally only order rolls when I'm trying a new sushi place for the first time and I'm not sure if their fish is fresh and good quality enough to enjoy as nigiri, but their fish is so fresh, I'd recommend to definitely get some nigiri here. The PDX roll was one of our favorites too.
google avatar

Miki M.

Yelp
Koya Sushi has some of the best sushi in Beaverton (and in the Portland area in general). If only the prices were affordable, I'd come here more often. For now, we treat this place as a special occasion spot. The restaurant is small with only a few tables. So once the tables are full, the wait for a table to open can be long. There's usually only one waitress doing everything, so the service can be a bit slower too. We ordered the Plum Roll, Red Snow Roll, Rainbow Roll, and PDX Roll along with the Chicken Karaage. Something I love about this place is that their presentation is on point. Not only does the sushi look delicious, it tastes so fresh and amazing as well! I always leave here feeling so satisfied and full.
google avatar

Paul E.

Yelp
I am a sushi junkie and Koya blew me away. The friendly welcome, the thoughtful and extensive menu, the nice sake list which included locally brewed (and delicious) sake...I LOVE KOYA! The Krispy rice hamachi, the Caterpillar roll, the hamachi collar...all great including beautiful presentation. I'll be going back and back and back. Yum!
google avatar

Nicol L.

Yelp
We ordered take-out online, then went to pick it up. The packaging was pretty perfect because nothing had toppled over and the sushi was still intact! The Shogun Tower roll is a muuuust. It's so unique and so good. I loved all the rolls we got, as they were all super unique and flavourful.
google avatar

Mariko K.

Yelp
We tried a number of dishes and liked everything. They had a lot of sake to choose from. Service is fast and friendly. The downsides are that seating is squished and it's very noisy.
google avatar

Rossa P.

Yelp
If you want to have legit sushi, I highly recommend this place [koyasushi](https://www.notion.so/koyasushi-4cc3e2fad14c4ef7b1b69bf95e5ad98d) 12570 SW 1st St, Beaverton, OR 97005 I ordered a variety of sashimi and they were all super delicious. I can explain Koya sushi; high quality ingredients, nice service and clean!

Yelp
The reviews and ratings for this place are glowing on Yelp and I wanted to know what the hype was about. I came for dinner and was seated immediately. Love how they give you a side of miso soup for free. It was a great way to start the meal. I ordered the uni spoon, bluefin tuna sashimi, premium nigiri combination, red snow and hang ten roll. The blue fin tuna sashimi was the best dish we ordered. I didn't particularly like either of the specialty rolls ordered. The premium nigiri combination wasn't to my liking either. There were a few nigiri's that were inedible, personally speaking. I prefer buttery and soft fish but there were a few pieces that were tough and chewy. I didn't notice that there was a separate menu that offered regular sushi until after I placed my order but if I had ordered some sushi that I'm more familiar with, I think I would've enjoyed the meal more. Either way, the sushi tasted fresh and I might come back one day to try other items.
google avatar

Liz O.

Yelp
It didn't make us sick! This is one of the most important things when trying new sushi restaurants. It's a cool family business. the restaurant is small but there are plenty of tables. If you're looking for sushi, you have found your place. The chicken karaage was a bit disappointing. The miso soup was col, but the sushi was delicious! Perfect place for small groups with outdoor seating. The sushi 5/5 The service 5/5 The presentation 5/5
google avatar

Haley S.

Yelp
Super impressed with this place! Small dining room with a few tables, but we came on a Friday night and didn't have to wait to be seated. Their selection is great and I was VERY impressed with how quickly we got our food after ordering. Definitely recommend :)
google avatar

Julian A.

Yelp
We decided to eat here based on the Yelp rating. I wouldn't say it's the "best", but it's still pretty good. The joint was clean and the service was great. The servers were quick, friendly, and attentive. Some helpful tips: * This place is pretty pricey so if you're going and have plans to pig out, be prepared to cough up a lot of money. * If you want to come for dinner, definitely arrive a little before 5pm. Doing this will definitely guarantee you a good seat. That's what we did and it was empty, but it quickly filled up! * I highly recommend the Chicken Karaage appetizer. To me, that dish was worth the hefty bill. Lastly, my review gets an extra star because, yes, they serve Coca-Cola products!

Yelp
A small spot in downtown Beaverton. They have a pretty slim operation, two chefs and one general manager. I saw them turned down a few customers because their kitchen is understaffed. They don't do reservation though. I'd come early, just in case. The food was surprisingly fast and they served some of the best (fancier) sushi in the area. All the dishes were very intricately plated. The fishes and seafood items were very fresh and of high quality. They're definitely on the pricier end of sushi but I think it's worth what you get; a great spot for a special occasion for sure. Would be down to come back and try more of their rolls!

Yelp
Very nice restaurant in Beaverton. Service was great and food fresh and flavorful. Good sale combinations. The menu is diverse for such a small place. Well worth a visit.
google avatar

Richard H.

Yelp
Kind of a hole in the wall place. They tend to be the best places with the best food and the best experience. Koya did not disappoint. The pictures tell the story about the sushi chefs attention to detail. A senior chef Meticulously creates these delicious works of art. Although his presentations are second nature, built on skills developed over years, I wonder what spectacular delicacies he could create if more time was available. I need to return many more times. Can I use your card?
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
Food is really good but waitlist is long . Also the wait time for the food is long too ...it's just crowded ... and kinda noise since it's a small place. fyi, this was a weekday (not Friday ) dinner experience .. however would definitely recommend for lunch visit , just not for dinner . There was another time I went with friend for lunch and really enjoyed it.

Yelp
yumyumyumyumyummmm! i forgot to take a picture of the uni spoons we had but it was absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, freshest ingredients, impeccable preparation, and every piece looks like an art creation. I will definitely be back, hunger for more.

Yelp
Fresh great quality sushi. Had the tuna poke bowl, chirashi bowl, futamaki and a tuna roll. Lunch was pricey but understandable given quality of the sushi. Wish I could afford to go more often. Nice small intimate atmosphere and good friendly service.
