The 14 Best Restaurants In Mayfair

"Koyn is the restaurant equivalent of upstairs for thinking, downstairs for dancing. Upstairs is a serene dining room with quiet chatter and yellowtail being sliced behind the stunning sushi counter. Take your parents to show them that you almost definitely know what an ISA is now. Downstairs is a moody black and red den serving stand-up Thai dishes, that say “seduce me with satay”. Bring your date to show them that you almost definitely know what The Weeknd is talking about in 80% of his songs. Just know that you’re probably going to spend three figures—it’s a special occasion spot, or for when you’ve got the corporate card." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak

Koyn & Koyn Thai Review - Mayfair - London - The Infatuation

"This high-end spot in Mayfair serves two different cuisines depending on which floor you book. Upstairs at Koyn you’ll find top-quality sushi that’ll have you blowing hundreds of pounds if you’re not careful. And downstairs is a menu of Thai classics with a fun twist that, depending on what you order, can either blow your mind or underwhelm you. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Koyn Koyn is the restaurant equivalent of upstairs for thinking, downstairs for dancing. Upstairs is a serene dining room with quiet chatter and yellowtail being sliced behind the stunning sushi counter. It’s where to take your parents to show them that you almost definitely know what an ISA is now. Downstairs is a moody black and red den that says “seduce me with satay”. Bring your date to show them that you almost definitely know what The Weeknd is talking about in 80% of his songs. It’s a special occasion spot which works just as well for an all-out panang curry-filled dinner when you’ve got the corporate card, as it does an anniversary sushi date to celebrate getting through three years of arguing over whose turn it is to load the dishwasher. Food Rundown photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Sliced Yellowtail The truffle ponzu that this thinly sliced buttery yellowtail is in, is the kind of sauce we’d like to drizzle on our toast in the morning when we’re feeling extra. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice CC hash browns heads, these crispy rice bites are the grade-A spicy tuna and deep-fried carby collab you need. Get these, and then get the avocado-topped ones for good measure. It’s the kind of dish you alert your group chat about immediately. Black Cod Black cod doesn’t usually give us butterflies when we see it on a menu but this black cod is so soft, so buttery, and so light, that we’d pay that £50 price tag all over again. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Spicy Salmon Sushi Roll A simple roll, this light and creamy salmon number is one of our favourite things to order here. If you’re in a group, don’t be polite, these disappear quickly. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Hotate Nigiri The hotate is soft and buttery, and the vinegared rice has the perfect swipe of wasabi for a nice kick. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Chicken Satay The chicken is so tender and spiced, you won’t want to dip it in the peanut sauce. But trust us, the nutty, creamy sauce just elevates it further. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Crispy Prawn Cakes These are a little too greasy and chewy for our liking. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Grilled Jumbo Tiger Prawn ‘Choo-Chee’ These meaty prawns are in a creamy panang curry, and once you’re done with the tender shellfish, you’ll get in a fist fight with anyone who tries to take the sauce before you’ve licked the plate clean. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak Mango Sticky Rice Mango jelly with coconut ice cream and creamy sticky rice—this is one of the best desserts in London." - Rianne Shlebak

London’s New Restaurant Openings

"Koyn is getting a sibling. The new arrival will be tucked away beneath the existing restaurant and will serve Thai food. As well as an a la carte menu, there’s a tasting menu, plus lunch and early dinner set menus. The signature cocktail list at this Mayfair spot also looks promising. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Really enjoyed my experience at KOYN! The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was great, and the food blew me away—especially the tuna tartare, which was absolutely amazing. Cocktails were on point too. Honestly, everything exceeded my expectations. Will definitely be back!

Koyn came highly recommended, so expectations were high. Spinach ohitashi was nice for a starter, it was followed by rockshrimp tempura and sliced yellowtail with truffle soy, which really were both very very good and very much recommended. Next was the tenderloin beef with yakiniku sauce, which really tasted as normal stake sauce. Nevertheless, the meat was very good quality as it should be. The passion fruit panacotta on the other hand, really was out of this world and not to miss if you are visiting. Service however, was clearly below what you would expect from a restaurant at this level, people doing nothing, while we had to call for attention several times. At this level, we really expected more.

We had a dinner at this restaurant and went without reservations. Food was delicious. Great service 👍🏻👏🏻 Only things I can mention that the restaurant was a little bit too dark not enough lighting. 💡 Otherwise everything was perfect !👌🏻

Koyn offers an exceptional dining experience with great service and a lovely atmosphere. The food was outstanding, with the baby chicken and tenderloin beef being absolute standouts—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The cocktails were equally impressive, beautifully crafted to complement the meal. Highly recommend for anyone seeking top-quality Japanese cuisine!

Wonderful birthday meal that I was treated to here. Opted for the Thai part of the restaurant and was not disappointed. Highly recommend for spice lovers! Service was extremely attentive - almost too much so at some points, sometimes dishes felt slightly rushed but this did not detract at all from quality of food and service. Highlights: satay, crispy squid, beef, spicy papaya salad. Will definitely come back.

Great Asian restaurant, nice receptionist, fast, pleasant and attentive service, food was very delicious, for appetizers the crispy squid, pomelo salad & prawn cakes so tasty just the spring rolls , chicken satay & escargot’s the taste was average and we ask for extra roti and the waiter bring it right away without any additional expense. The crispy seabass was great and must try as well the king prawns pad thai, the lamp chunk curry was so tender but I didn’t like the curry gravy too much. Passion fruit panna cotta & sticky rice with mango was so tasty Overall, it was a great experience, the service was excellent, and the restaurant is worth trying. I highly recommend it and will visit again.
