I love this store, because of their fresh made breads, especially square barbari. But their customer service SUCKS....The front lady cashier(ahirt, blond hair) is ok,but young lady (if I am not mistaken name is Ani), she is the worst...It seems she doesn't want to work there,or somebody pulled her out of bed by force.Always not in a mood, always grumpy...no smile,no greeting to customers.. Today as usual, I was buying bread ,and some products, when I came to cashier where wasn't anybody, and this young lady was in another counter, and she saw me I was there waiting, and she is like no any reaction, no hello, or "hey ,I'll be with you shortly"...And I am waiting, waiting, she is still counting money all 1$ slowwwww.,like by purpose.I asked ,if there is no any other person to help??Even the lady told her,Ani customer is waiting...And she is,like "I don't care" I need to do what I think is the right.I said who is the manager,I need to talk, and at that time she is right away came.I am ,myself a hairstylist in a day we interact with a lot of customers. Our priority is the customers.Train your cashiers a customer service, smile, and say at least hello , then put in front of people. No customer,no money...🤦🏼‍♀️P.S the prices are high compared to other places, and some even dosen't have a price tag...2 ⭐️ just for fresh bread and lady that helps me to get the bread.Overall the store is a joke...

Google
Don't buy food from this store. I got sick and vomited after eating pasuc dolma that I bought from this market. The old dolma was sold together with the new one. Shame on you. You are lucky that I didn't end up in the hospital after eating your spoiled food.

Google
The new people in charge are amazing. Their fresh food menu was surprising since it was never like this. For a Romanian in Glendale this is what I've always wanted since we don't have many options.

Samery Smith

Google
I bought biscuits that were expired. They put a sticker with a new fake date on the box without realizing that all the real expired dates are also written on the inside pouches. Selling EXPIRED products! Fraud!

George

Google
The store is quite nice, although the prices seem a bit elevated.

Google
Everything in the store is expired! Be careful and check the expiration date. I bought expired products several times and only noticed it at home. The girl at the checkout never say hello and always has a stone-cold face.👎

Google
The worst store, this is sliced cheese, and it should not be left outside for one month. Everything I buy here always has expired dates. Today, I confirmed it once again and decided to leave this review. After just a month, the cheese smells bad and is so hard that I had to throw it all away. Please be more careful with this. I hope the manager fixes these issues because you are losing loyal customers like me.

Google
$12/hour. That’s what this store pays its employees. I will never respect a business like this or support its existence.

Yelp
Great friendly people and service. Baked goods are phenomenal. I had the opportunity to drop in to this awesome market for a peek around. They have a full fledged bakery on premises and the smell of baked goods fills the store. Try the sesame bread! David, the owner helped for a bit and had me try a few new items. The marinaded meats are also excellent. Try the chicken breast and beef flap!

Yelp
I'm not here to complain about the prices or expired dates, I'm here to talk about humanity! I'm leaving this review because it's not the first time that I'm seeing the manager who's name is "GOHAR" is showing veeery rude attitude to the workers !! Like who are you? You have job and get salary due to them !!!! I was really happy that the previous owner left and somebody else bought the store hoping that the she will get out of the store, but as I see she's still there,,,I told my friends and neighbors to not come to that store anymore. Rude attitude is unacceptable in customer service !

Yelp
I bought a chocolate mousse slice and a fruit tart for $15 dollars I was enjoying my chocolate mousse when I see some mole.

Lys G.

Yelp
Pretty big in my opinion and had everything I have been looking for. I've been to a lot of markets which don't supply it or don't have any in stock. I absolutely love everything I got from them. Service was great, I did my own thing and checked out? Hahah a good evening

Yelp
I recently moved to Glendale and I've been to this market about 10 times. It seems like every employee here has the same directive - be as shady as you possibly can be. WITHOUT FAIL, they have one way or another tried to charge more than they should. I ordered a half pound of mortadella and I see that she's charged me at $35 per pound when it clearly is labeled at $12.99 per pound. The cashiers are all rude and I've had multiple issues where they've charged random service fees on my credit card when there are no signs anywhere that say they will charge service fees. Even the fees they are random. Sometimes 10 cents, sometimes 40 cents. Today I paid cash and she didn't give me all my change and when I asked her about it she pretended to not speak English and started to help the next person in line. Terrible. Shady. Never shopping here again.

Anastasia P.

Yelp
I started coming here whenever I'm in the area, this is bigger than other Armenian stores. However, this store is pricier than other Armenian stores/russian stores. The staff are very friendly, even if you only speak English. Don't listen to the negative reviews, you can't expect people to be polite when you aren't.

Yelp
My first trip to Glendale, and I wanted to experience firsthand an Armenian Market. There was seriously good food everywhere. Deli, bakery and everything else. Only disappointment is they don't ship.

Andrew L.

Yelp
I love going into this store because every time I walk in the girl at the cash register her name is ani she says hi how are you, whenever I ask her question she answers it or if I need fresh meat or bread she comes and tells them and she always conversataes so good and she makes my day, these little things can change peoples moods during the day and it's just amazing, thank you ani for this amazing costumer service.

Yelp
I've been a faithful customer of Kozanian for many years and buy their lavash and gata. This past weekend I stopped by as usual to buy Gata and took it home. When I decided to serve it at night and cut thru it I saw a long piece of hair right in the middle of the dough. I was so disappointed. It was too late to call Saturday night since they were closed but I did call on Sunday morning and spoke to a lady named Karine who claimed she was the manager. While she was apologetic she did not offer any compensation. Did not surprise me since they are not know for their customer service. The fact that no Refund or replacement was offered led me here to write a negative review. The response from the "manager" left me with a sour taste and not sure I will be returning.

Yelp
Great food many options for special occasions, fresh stuff, fresh bread all your needs one stop

Lizz A.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Cashiers are rude! Worst service ! Produce is way overpriced and not even fresh. THERES A $10 MINIMUM PURCHASE IF YOU PAY WITH A CARD. never coming here again.

Yelp
Ridiculous food and service ! We came to order food for new year eve. We waited 10 mn and we have to ask 4 different employees to help us and waited another 15 mn to place the order. When I picked up the order on December 31st I had to wait for fifteen minutes to get it And now about the food Green beans and the Russian salad, they used canned vegetables and it taste like ugly canned food The Kievski kotlet was made with animal fat instead of butter. Everything tasted horrible We just paid $200 for this ridiculous disappointing food and all my guests made negative comments on the food and ask where we get this ridiculous "thing" and everything went to trash. We end up serving French cheese with French baguettes and wine. Never will order from this place anymore.
google avatar

Hakob H.

Yelp
This is the most expensive store in Glendale, the food is not fresh at all, the price is the highest priced I have ever seen this is crazy. I will not go there again there must be some kind of food in price control department.

Emma E.

Yelp
Horrible service, they are very rude. Also they did a fraud to my relatives card they charged every week with his card information

Ani P.

Yelp
I drive from Redondo Beach to Glendale just to shop here. It has everything I need for Armenian cooking.

Yelp
This is a little niche market. You can find some cool stuff inside that's imported but, then again, you can find that at a number of places in Glendale as well. What you can't find everywhere are extremely rude and entitled employees that grunt and stare off into space when you try to talk to them, like there's anywhere else in the world they'd rather be than there. Not to mention, terrible parking situations where people often will double-park and block you in. And always there are people standing right outside the doors smoking. When you look at them to search their faces for any reasonableness, they look back like they have a right to own the air. Ok...
google avatar

Marie J.

Yelp
Terrible ... started from cashier's and ending with quality of food. First time bought food from their Kitchen - Look at the " kievski kotlet"" completely raw with pink meat inside . they just told me sorry when I called and complained . Food smells like onions no matter is fruits veggies or cookies Not acceptable not from me not from Department or Health Care Services
google avatar

Yelp
The worst service in every meaning that you can think of . Everyone is ALWAYS rude not just in one particular case.

Yelp
EDIT: I initially gave four stars, as we had originally only strolled by and were amazed by what they had on offer. Particularly the bread smelled so good. Then, as below, we came back - and purchased. I do understand the poor ratings now. No one really cared. I was new to the place - and wanted to learn more about the differences of their bread - and felt and left as an intruder. Sorry, guys, not good enough. I will not return. ORIGINAL POST: found this place on our #tenthousandstepsaday walk. I really love this walk taking us to places you would never find when just driving by. This one is a family run supermarket with super fresh fruit and veggies. My wife and I just strolled the place as we still had 8000 steps to go - so no immediate need to buy stuff, but we will sure come again as meats, deli and fruit/ veggies appeared super fresh. The bread looked fingerling good - so we'll sure come back to check it out. Why not five stars then? I only give five stars when I would accept a major detour to go there, and while I would love to buy there when in there area, I would most likely not drive ten miles or more just to shop here - but I guess that is pretty understandable. I did see only very negative reviews on my screen, and the one photos with the raw meat speak a clear language. Then, some of my most favorite places get poor reviews, which is why I tend to rely only on friends or people I know - as I really do not care if one vegan hates my favorite steak house ;-) For any reader who does not know me: I like vegan food and do understand and appreciate any vegan, as long as they do not get too preachy ;-)

Yelp
this store employees are so rude. everyt is very expensive and most products are not fresh

Yelp
Wow what a disappointment. Employees restocking shelves with their masks dangling down under their chins. Most of the employees working behind the fresh meat, deli and deliciously prepared counters not wearing a mask at all. This was one of my favorite stores but I will never be returning. Playing with the health and safety of their patrons is not acceptable in anyway especially because a lot of their customers are older who are at a higher risk. How dare you guys.

Meline T.

Yelp
I am writing to let you know that this place has the worst customer service ever. I was there couple of days ago and the manager was very rude with the employees. It isn't a pleasant place to shop where customers don't feel welcome. Someone should take care of this problem. I will never step a foot in this store again. Very Bad service.

Yelp
Kozanian Ranch Market is a great place to come for anything you would need. The service is excellent, the workers are very nice and friendly for the moment you wall in to walking out. They offer wide variety of produce, great deli, freshly daily bakery, and home cooked meals ready to service. You will find wonderful prices that cant be beat in my opinion. They also carry several great Armenian delicacies, spicy, pastries, and products that wont be found anywhere else. I highly recommend you stop by and shop at Kozanian Ranch Market, you will absolutely love there items. There is plenty of customer parking as well so no need to drive endlessly for parking.

Yelp
The BEST water and mineral water! The BEST juices, honey and preserves! The BEST YOGURT! Why the BEST? Mother nature! No preservatives or additives, no GMO, no abuse of the soil, no pesticides, ONLY super mineral and vitamin rich goodness made the old fashion way! Try it out!!!
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
I only walked through the produce aisle and it was disgusting. Old, moldy veggies. $4.59 for "cherry tomatoes" aka mold? No, thank you. Ralph's sells the organic version for $3.99. Mold not included.
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
I came there to pick up my UPS package. The cashier helped me immediately when she saw me. While I waited, I noticed a couple of flies on the baked fish that was on the counter. I got there a little early so my package didn't arrive yet. The girl offered her store's phone number so I can check the status. The second time that I came back, she was just as helpful and got my package. On the other hand, they have a large selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and baked goods. They had a long counter with baked goods that was covered with plastic but I wouldn't buy them since I saw the flies on my first visit.

Yelp
Worst place to ever shop! 1st incident I had was when i wanted to throw one tiny thing in the trash that my daughter gave me, the lady pointed outside and said the trash can is outside. THANK YOU! I guess you guys don't use trash cans in your store??? Then...THENNNNN I'm about to get to the register, my daughter says she has to go to the bathroom. Of course she does. So I asked one of the ladies and she said since it's for your daughter my manager would probably say yes. I go to the manager, she looks at my daughter ready to wet her pants and says no sorry we don't have a restroom....REALLYYYY?????? Where you do you people pee???? On your floor????? Disgusting people. I just left everything I had and walked out. NEVER WILL I GO THERE AGAIN!

Yelp
This is our local grocery market. We come here at least twice a week. Fresh produce and fruits. Marinated meat ready to put on your grill. Big variety of Cold cuts. Fresh bread made every day and my favorite is the lavash like flat thin bread. They also make fresh croissants and other pastries. Pizzas , hot dishes and sandwiches as well. It's family owned and operated.

Alisa Z.

Yelp
OVERPRICED, RIDICULOUS FOODS AND SERVICE !!! I ordered food for New Year eve, And I was very disappointed front of my guests, because they were all making a bad comments about it. I end up trusting it. I will never order form this place anymore
google avatar

S B.

Yelp
Market is completely over priced. I recently moved in the neighborhood and wanted to know my surrounding markets. Only plus side, the Store is large and has a lot of potential. Most importantly, it is completely over priced. I ended up purchasing 1-bunch parsley that day as I was shocked at the high prices. I wont go back. We have plently of markets with half the price of their produce. Probably only EBT funded neighbors can afford it. Total scam.
google avatar

Greg A.

Yelp
Overpriced is an understatement if you have shopped their lately you have noticed how much the prices have been jacked up you have also probably noticed the numerous expired items and food that literally spoils after purchase. Used to be a good neighborhood market, but this place has fallen off quickly..

A A.

Yelp
These worthless pigs are mismanaging the equal employment opportunities and rights. Has been reported that these animals have been taking advantage over the newcomers/immigrants and using them for free work and never pay. A month or two later they fire the workers reasoning that they were not performing their duties. They have been getting away with those practices, because new immigrants do not know the laws and don't have the money to hire attorney to file lawsuits. And their products go well beyond the expiration date, but they sell the expired products by refreshing the dates. The worms are crawling in the bags of the crops. I've personally witnessed that. I hope those pigs get the just punishment for their evil deeds.

Naira E.

Yelp
I went to the store three days ago and they have very bad service no customer service employers are very rude with each other specially the manager she doesn't know how to speak with employees. The manager was very rude with employees I will never go to the store anymore and I will tell all my friends and family because there's no customer service.
google avatar

Artoun H.

Yelp
So far my favorite armenian market in glendale. Great selection and quality of produce and meats. Its not super busy like most other places and the prices are good.

Armen G.

Yelp
Pretty bad service. I purchased some canned goods and milk just to find out that half of the items were expired. lol... I came back requesting a refund and they wouldn't take them back nor provide me with cash back or replacement items. No real manager on site which makes this a convenient way to BS customers. I'll stick to Ralphs or TJ's from here on. Lesson learned. Believe the Hype for bad reviews. TRUTH be told.
google avatar

Nanor G.

Yelp
Make sure to check the expiration dates before purchasing any product from this location!
google avatar

Damian Z.

Yelp
Was looking for a different place to do my grocery shopping for comparison to my regular spot (Ani Grocery) and was very disappointed , this place is way overpriced. Nothing special or unique to report about it's products!

The Hill S.

Yelp
First and last time at this store every single yershik we got tastes horrible...the fat tastes horrible no flavor and everything is overpriced straight to garbage!!!!..... oh but the bread was ok
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
Nice selection of eastern European and Armenian foods. I would agree with the other reviewers that it is overpriced.
google avatar

Arin T.

Yelp
Their Lhamajune is A+. Better than sasoon, taron, and lhamajune factory. I think its because they always have fresh meat.

Tatti K.

Yelp
The worst shop ever!!! Expired food, rude staff. It's the FIFTH and my LAST experience of expired food. I have complained today about the disgusting terribly smelling cheese but they never acknowledge their mistake. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS SHOP, GO TO THE SHOPS WITH FRESH FOOD.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
I went to super king market expecting to find armenian pepper paste but they didn't have it. I had to look for another place. This place is the bomb all products are Armenian and no Turkish stuff! Yes!!!!! This is a real legit armenian store!

Patrick D.

Yelp
When I purchased my groceries a few weeks ago I found out that half of my items were rotten and passed the sell by date when I got home. Upon promptly returning the items they could barely manage to replace one item and made numerous excuses instead of offering to replace the items or even apologize for filling their shelves with expired goods. A few days ago I had to go back since I was with a friend who wanted to but a few items and I was shocked to see multiple workers and customers walking around without any masks. This irresponsible behavior coupled with the carelessness of selling expired goods makes this one of the worst grocery stores in Glendale. Think twice before you shop here.
google avatar

Selena G.

Yelp
they have perfect costumer service, so clean, they have delicious armenian foods, recommended you

Yelp
Here is another review for this place. I believe they took down previous page-which I reviewed in the past and poorly graded-, and opened a new page now so they can get better reviews. Owners, please listen to your customers: 1-Instead of spending an arm and a leg on your new pizza oven, spend some money renovating your store. Change the floors, paint the walls. Buy new display refrigerators, new shelves. Don't try to cut corners. 2-Instead of stocking up on limited selection of organic veggies and fruits, make sure that your regular fruits and veggies are not sitting on the shelves going bad... And please do not price your regular fruits and veggies more expensive than your organic fruits and veggies??? I can't seem to understand, how you price your items... They are either extremely overpriced, or they are extremely cheap... Why can't you find the middle ground. 3-Some of your workers are great. They have great attitude, and they are your number one assets. Recognize them. 4-Some of your cashiers-not so nice. Train them, by your other workers who are great with customers. 5-Make sure your food don't sit on the shelves for years and go bad. I had bugs coming out of the goods that I purchased from your store. I went back to exchange it for another, and the other brand was spoiled, too! 6-You make great lavash bread. Embrace it! whatever you do great, display it nicely and accessible towards the back of the store, so your customers get to see other things and purchase more at your store. 7-Make your customers 'want to purchase more food' rather than having them see your messy assembly line of I don't know what, by the pizza oven section... You have so much potential. Only if you can convince yourself to spend some money to clean up and make things better for you...

Yelp
I stumbled in to this place looking for a cup of copy or a morning snack. Oh boy, I will be back. I ended up getting a large flat pull apart bread, some exquisitely marinated & suateed eggland and some taboule. Ther is a ten dollar minimum for credit card -- which is why I also picked up the big pack of stuffed grape leaves for $7. I want more. Right now. The stuffed grape leaves were the best I've had in a long time, and we eat them a lot b/c they are one of my husbands favorite things. Eggplant, exquisite. Taboulle - very well done. The bread was yummy. I will be back. I couldn't disagree more with the reviewer who advised they paint the walls and spend money on aesthetic upgrades. What a waste. Their prices are low and their deli food is excellent. Why ruin it by making it glossy and corporate looking? The food wont taste better, it will just be more expensive, which is less of a draw. I notice that the owners weigh in on reviews alot here, which is a great sign. Would you recommend to a newbie for the 5 or 10 products that are "must try" at your store?
