Kozy Lounge

I was at Kozy on July 12th with about 15 of my friends and family members. We were celebrating my birthday. We learned about this place from the “ Burger Battle “at Eastern Market. They were absolutely delicious! Our waitress was kind and patient. Everyone loved their food and we will definitely be back!!

Great little dive bar with a lot of history. Food has been great every time I have eaten something. I believe I have tried every burger at this point. The Kat burger is great, Ma's burger is nice, and the Shawarma burger is a nice twist. "I personally like it with the grilled chicken."

Favorite bar in Hazel Park. Very faire priced food. Healthy portions. And great tasting food. I swear the wings are incredible value and they are piping hot for every single bite. My go to place for a bite to eat and a drink. This place is a staple in Hazel Park.

I am a regular. Food is great and there is a good beer selection. I really like their chicken wings. Right now, my favorite is the hamburger that has bacon and an egg and I ask for added jalapeno peppers.

Jacob is the best. He busts his ass while also making everyone feel welcome. We love Kozy but he is the main reason we come. Good bar food. Good burger day. Solid drafts. Our favorite local spot.

Kozys is gods country. Donna & Jacob are single-handedly the best bartenders in the state. Honestly, if you don’t think so than you are the problem. Hope this helps! <3

Located in a fairly industrial part of town, the Kozy is one of my favorite watering holes. It’s within easy walking distance so I might be a bit biased there but I love the conversations I have every time with the other regulars and bartenders, and I’m excited to see how the new deck plays out for the end of summer too! Food’s always freshly made and surprisingly well priced for what feels like an upscale joint.

This bar was a fun find. They even had a shuffleboard table which was really cool. The bartender was attentive and friendly. No complaints on this place whatsoever.

Awesome place. Same setup as playoff sports bar and grill but with nice people instead of old angry geasers.

Unfortunately they we understaffed on Wednesday night, Slow incomplete attention from the server. I never stiff a server either, not her fault. Burger was not cooked as ordered. Old school ambiance was great reasonable pricing. Great shuffle board table.

Great service. Good food. Kinda dive vibe which I love. Burgers mostly but they are good ones. It is on my rotation!

It's National Burger Month and it has taken me 9 days into the celebration to finally get a hold of one and let me tell you, this is unacceptable. The one thing Tony Stark and I have in common outside of rugged good looks, billions of dollars and a genius level IQ is our mutual love of the American cheeseburger. Footnote: quite possibly only one thing in that list might be true. I have been coming to Kozy forever and a day. It was always one of my go to places for inexpensive drinks. Shockingly enough, I had never eaten here before but when I heard they had one of the best burgers in Michigan I had to revisit my old haunt to see what I've been missing out on all these years. Walked in and it didn't look like a thing had changed. It was awesome! Ordered the Kat Burger and a Coors Light. I swear it was the same old timers sitting next to me now as it was 30 years ago. Burger delivered and it looked fantastic. In my life I would never have thought to put honey on a burger, and in my life I have missed out on a lot. Wow what a sandwich. The honey mixed nicely with the jalapenos and bacon, plus the mixture of a little heat, sweet and salt was amazing. No wonder they won the burger battle. To top it off, a burger this good and a beer that ok was only $10. Where you going to find that kind of happiness for such an inexpensive price nowadays? No idea. Excited to check this off the list for burger spots and even more excited to come back again.

The perfect "dive bar" does exists! It's on 10 mile in Hazel Park, and it's called Kozy's. Great food, especially the Kozy burger and the tater tots, but I was surprised at how awesome the wraps were as well. Great beer specials, a friendly staff and atmosphere, and a super well maintained shuffle board table all make for the perfect place to hang out. We had a blast here, it wasn't loud or dirty inside, but it had that feeling like your favorite pair of worn in jeans. Can't wait to come back again!

Had the Kozy burger, very good. Cooked to order and temp. Got a side of fries. Service was great, definitely coming back. Great place to meet up and watch a game.

The food was good but service was okay. Never got refill on my water and keep waiting and waiting. There was 2 tables that were occupied. I wish sever more friendly.

Service good burger was nothing special although bun was great onion rings all 6 of them were small but tasted good . I'd try again

best neighborhood dive bar EVER. friendly people, old school shuffle board, cozy vibes. Not only is the atmosphere fantastic but the burgers are by far the best around. Vegetarian friendly with an impossible burger and black bean burger option on the menu! If you're looking for a low key hangout spot to spend time with friends this is a great place! i would love it if they had outdoor seating too but at least when the weather is nice they have a giant roll up window that opens up for some breeze!

A blast from the past, but a great place nonetheless. Friendly staff, cold beer, and good food. It's just a small place that offers good conversation and an eclectic crowd to enjoy. This place is hard to get into on the weekends, when everything is open. So I suggest a weekday afternoon a good burger and a cold beer.

Stopped in for a burger and I remember hearing about them getting some award for best burger, I got the Kat Burger and my date got the Kozy Burger. Both burgers were really good, nice flavor, good ingredients with an ice cold beer, all was right. For sure will stop back and try some of the other burgers.

Visiting the area and our friends brought us to the Kozy. I'm a burger snob and always try the basic burger to see what it's all about. It was fabulous! Cooked med rare as ordered, hot crispy onion rings and ice cold beer. Great service and wonderful staff. Highly recommend and will go back. Loved this place!

A throw back in time dive bar.1970s paneling everywhere! A former karaoke space sits unused for a few years. Huge pool table area right near the front entrance. Met a friend and sat at the bar. Coleen, the waitress/ bartender was funny. I chose the 10 mile burger - was good and huge. Buddy went with a blt, said it was good. Draft beer- nice and cold. Lots of locals here. The van outside, says it been here since the early 1960s . Worth a try !

The food was good and will give another chance. Was a bit disappointed that the staff weren't masked when the clientele was masked as requested protocol to guidelines. Tracing form was also optional which we want places to stay open so to me should be followed. It's all a learning curve so will be back. Food was great, nice people, like the games & prices are very reasonable.

Listen. That lady in the kitchen is some kind of burger goddess! No joke, it's like every one she makes melts in your mouth and leaves you feeling childhood happy. This bar seriously has the best Burges in town.

I really wanted to like this place. But when a place pulls a fast one it really pisses me off. Walk in and the bartender middle aged woman super nice. Ordered Sam Adam's 22oz for $3.5 then the keg blows. Her response is no worries I'm switching it out for Bells Oberon if you want that instead of the Sam Adam's. What she failed to say was the damn beer was $8.5 each for a 22oz beer. I was speechless when I saw the bill as she literally took advantage of us. I was not in an argumentative mood therefore I paid and left her 20% tip on the total. It's f%#ked up when a beer is more expensive than the burger. Very sad this happened because I really wanted to like this place. I mean they have 5 Hamms for $9. Would have rather had that. I don't pay $9 for a beer at a dive bar. Come the hell on! Shameful.

Stumbled across this place thanks to other yelpers. Spot on! Hubby had the Kat Burger and said it was "special & memorable". A reason they win Detroit Burger Battle championship! My chili cheese tater tots were the bomb too!

Neighborhood bar, looks like early 60s architecture. Inexpensive drink prices. I had the burger. I make burgers for a living. This is a great burger. Lots of television for a small bar. I will definitely be back.

Heard about the award winning burger "The Kat Burger" in the Detroit Press and no doubt it's one on the best. Loads of exploding flavors. Fried Jalapeños gives you that perfect kick in the burger. Highly recommended. Loved the ambiance too.

Arrogant staff who can't own up to their own mistakes and belittles customers for catching their wrong doing. Also the food was less than mediocre, I don't recommend even considering this place.

Stopped here to meet up with a few friends and hangout on Saturday night. Definitely a nice reprieve from the fancier bars that seem to be all the rage these days. It's everything you would expect from a good local bar. Our server was awesome and super attentive. Beer was cheap and cold and they had a decent selection. Got a cheeseburger and fries which were good too. They also had karaoke going on which is always a good time. The guy running it seemed to have a lot of technical difficulties though. They also have a nice shuffleboard table, a pool table, darts, jukebox, and all the other fun stuff that a good bar should have. Plenty of TVs to watch whatever game is on too.

Pros: Cool vibe, excellent service, tasty food, cheap drinks and lots of games to play (darts, shuffleboard, etc.). Cons: It's in Hazel Park, MI (and we live 20 miles away) The Hot Blond Wife and I visited the Kozy Lounge last weekend after a round of golf and we will definitely be back again. Just a very cool neighborhood bar. And the Kat Burger was everything it was supposed to be... and more!

Love this local dive bar! Every time I wake up a little too late in the day and have to play catch up with errands, I make sure I end my night at this place and order the One Night Stan! Everyone is super friendly and accommodating too!

I love Julia! She is awesome! super fast service and cleaned as she served which is honestly super helpful. I asked her to surprise me with a drink and she gave me an amazing cocktail! Thank you Julia!

Great service!!! Good selection of beverages - love local. Try the Taco's on Thursday!! Crispy flour tortilla's are not something you find everywhere.

Uh oh!!!! Trouble for all, trouble for all.... Kim, who made the super awesome tacos that I reviewed, has left, and unfortunately, that taco deliciousness went with her. If you go during the day I guess, LInda, one of the other barmaids can make them pretty up to snuff, or so I hear. But when I went in 2 Thursdays ago for a carry out, I was disgusted at what I got home with. There was a new girl behind the bar and I knew immediately my tacos may be in serious danger. The shells are being pre-fried which you CANNOT do!! Chewy and greasy!!! Worse yet there was about 1/4 of the filling that used to be there, with one big blog of sour cream on one end. I FUCKING THREW THEM AWAY!!!! I was so pissed, I called my dad and yelled at him about it for 10 minutes. I was nearly in tears. Breaks my taco-loving heart! I will miss those awesome tacos. Dammit! /Gone!!!!

Stopped here for a quick dinner and was very impressed Good hearted atmosphere friendly people and staff. The food is absolutely wonderful The bartender Emily was very helpful and attentive Great place will definitely go back here

Great New Owners! This place is the best kept secret in Hazel Park...and it epitomizes the rebirth of this quaint town. If you love great dive bars, you have to try this place! Great selection of craft beer and liquor...and the kitchen is open late!

I love everything about this place! Humble and great bourbon selection. Do yourself a favor and have a chicken biscuit.

I came to Kozy's to celebrate the vows of my father in law and his new wife who met here! The name says it all...very cozy at Kozy's! Darts, pool, shuffle board, music...I was bummed I missed karoke night ; ) Bartender was awesome and met some very nice people. I didn't eat (full from reception dinner) but Sloppy Joe's were on special for $1.00.

I went last night with a coworker and it was a lot of fun. The bar has a nice, laid back vibe. The bartender is super nice. They have a pool table and shuffleboard and they also had karaoke when I was there.

The best tacos tonight with Cathy she know how to make a great drink too. The food here has always been great. Stop on in or call for specials . I even talked her in to two to go, lucky me.
