"Chefs Julya Shin and Steve Joo have successfully woven together their experiences as chefs in some of California’s best restaurants — including Chez Panisse and Terra — with their Korean-American backgrounds. Ssam with short ribs and duck, skewers of grilled meat, and more are part of their menu; they pop-up frequently at Oakland restaurants like Boot and Shoe Service." - Ellen Fort

Love this market!! Lots of fresh veggies for budget friendly shopping and so many great Asian products! Highly recommend!

Google
They even have an American and a Latino section and all their produce is fresh. Some of the Pastries are 50% off before closing by the registers. Cashiers are grandpa and grandma and are so fast and kind.

Google
Small market but there's a good variety of things offered. Been a going to this market for years. The small pastry shop is pretty good, plus the store made food and bonchon are great. Sometimes things can be a little pricey but they've always got sales going on so I'd recommend checking those items. I follow their Instagram since they usually post whatever sales they have going on. Also the separate mini store for kitchen appliances and cosmetics is pretty good. I don't buy any of the cosmetics but you can find some really good kitchen utensils or appliances.

Be careful with security guy really bad attitude, They can call you whatever they want. I understand Oakland dangerous place but everyone not a danger. We are a customer trying to buy grocery but security guys very bad attitude. be nice with everybody.

Feels safe with the gate and security. Security and employees are always nice so it’s a big plus! Various fresh produce and other Korean products available. Yummy kim bap, and other prepared foods. Oh they also have Korean household stuffs in the other building which is worth to check out. Fruits are always nice. Great local Korean grocery store so I don’t have to drive 1hr+ to Hmart or mega mart.

FarangBoi

Google
It has quite a choice but I find that 99 ranch has more choice & better price for fruits, snacks, sauce & veggies. This place has more Korean stuff. Good Asian stuff better at 99. But is quite reliable which is in Oakland not to far to drive.

I am always impressed when businesses in Oakland have free parking! Koreana Plaza Market's parking lot even has security guards. I was taking a picture of a sign in the parking lot, and a security guard walked over to see what I was doing. Before I entered the main market, I decided to check out there side store that has lots of non-food items. To get in both stores, first you are required to put on gloves, and then hand sanitizer. They have some very cool large ceramic pots with lids, besides a full gamut of pots, woks, and utensils. There us a lot to see. Some of the produce looked a little neglected--some were wilted. They have fish that are waiting to go home with someone--really fresh--they are alive!!! There is a fish monger there if you want someone to handle the fish. Most of the food market is filled with a huge amount of dry products that are in bags and boxes: seeds, noodles, spices, and more. A little overwhelming if you are new to shopping for Korean foods, and really great if you want variety. They have Korean cuts of beef; lots of frozen fish; refrigerated convenience ethnic foods; and freshly prepared foods ready to eat. I bought some, and ate it in the parking lot (in my car). Yum yum. I will come here again.

Avoid from 6 to 9 pm on first Friday of the month. No access to the parking lot due to the entire block of Telegraph & 24th street is closed. Friday, April 7th 2023 was impossible to get to this store. I wished I have known about when I opted to shop here, I couldn’t find a parking. One of the biggest Korean grocery stores in Bay Area. You will find an array of kimchi, gochujang (spicy pepper paste) and Asian specialty fresh vegetables that are not so common in western grocery stores. Personally I think that the thinly sliced beef (ribeye) for bulgogi is popular ($11.99/lbs) here and it’s very convenient pick up the sliced meat for your own Korean bbq at home. It’s a bit hard to find a parking in front, but they have expanded parking lot on the south side of the store. The parking lot staff really helps to locate an empty space for shoppers and navigate drivers which direction to go. It’s a good place to buy small quantities of readymade side dishes that are commonly served at Korean restaurants. I believe during weekends from noon to 4 pm are usually packed with customers who’s doing weekly shopping.

Yelp
Love this grocery store!! It's the best. They always have samples of the fruit in the produce section. I always pick up from their premade section. They have an array of banchans and marinated meats. They also have a hot food station for those grab and go moments. Parking is a little confusing here as the lot has one ways and all that but I will note that there is more than sufficient space to park especially considering their location in downtown.

Kelli K.

Yelp
Love coming there for their samples, 99 cents section, and ready made meals. Koreana always has yummy fruit samples and occasionally good prices. I recently bought two heavy bag of Barlett Pears that each cost $1.99 TOTAL not per lb. What a steal! Sometimes I get their 99 cents produce bags as well! I didn't see any this time but I'm always on the look out. Last time I got a bag full of bell peppers and a bag full of roma tomatoes. Each bag had about 5 of each vegetable in their specified bag. Each bag looked fresh without damage or mold. The ready made meals are pretty good. Sometimes I get the Japchae or Gimbap. For dessert, I got a mango cream Sando. It was decent but the bread wasn't so good. It was a bit on the dry side rather than being bouncy and soft. Overall, I still love coming here!

Donna D.

Yelp
Come here quarterly when I need to buy Korean rice. They have good quality of meat ( any cut ). They also have Korean fruits that you can not get in any other Asian groceries. This week menu is homemade Korean oxtail soup and anchovies side dish.

Janet T.

Yelp
Good selection of Korean and Asian foods. When I am nearby this area, I come grocery shopping here for some Korean foods. Beef kimbap sushi is tasty. I like to get the pork belly. It is a busy day here today. There is two parking lots, one in front and one in back.

Sammi L.

Yelp
Since moving to Oakland, Koreana Plaza has been my family's go-to Asian Market. They're not the largest, but they have a good selection of most products (sometimes we'll get produce elsewhere). The lot can seem intimidating, but security measures actually make shopping there feel much safer. And while parking can fill up on weekends, there's a good flow of people coming in and out. I always find a spot. Staff are quick to move people through the lines, and I always find everything I need at KP. We even get large orders of their fried chicken for our holiday parties - so good. Their kalbi was pretty expensive, but I splurged for a special occasion. I most often shop for fresh and frozen kimbap, soju, instant noodles and meat at KP. The shop next door (across in the same lot) also has a good variety of Korean skin care products and household items. Definitely worth a visit.

Nenita T.

Yelp
Trying to return a baby blanket that I purchased after 3 days. I found out that the blanket I purchased was too big for my granddaughter, (twin size). It was in the original packaging and unopened. Also the fact that I was not told that there is no return policy on blankets. They should be lenient on this return policy. Please don't purchase any blankets from this store. The staff that was helping me was very rude too.

David R.

Yelp
Beef kimbap ($7.49) delicious and fresh. Seasoned cucumber ($6.64) delicious and fresh. With these two items you have an outstanding and healthy lunch. Thank you.

George F.

Yelp
Until H Mart opens in the Tri-Valley, Koreana Market in Oakland is the best Korean Market closest to me. Oakland right now is the scariest city in California and coming here takes some planning. To avoid being a victim of crime, I get up early and get here between 8 & 9 am before all the criminals and Zombies come out. The parking lot and store is patrolled by some big security guards. When you come early parking in the front lot is easy. Koreana Market is well stocked with good quality meats, live seafood and produce. I like their shabu and KBBQ cuts of meats. Another plus is their staff are friendly and helpful. I just wish the location was closer and not in downtown Oakland.

Pam S.

Yelp
It has everything you could ask for in an Asian market. I usually come here if I don't have time to cook dinner and they have precooked meals or packaged fresh meals that you could easily heat and serve. Their catering department is awesome and have ordered a few times for meetings and family gatherings and those have always turned out good. The ladies there are helpful, just bad with communication as English is not their first language. i appreciate the added security in the parking lot. They also serve as parking attendants, telling you which space is available LOL. I took off a star because they are on the expensive side.

Nancy P.

Yelp
Love coming here to get Korean groceries and fresh fish. I also pick up my usual box of Jin's ramen. The seasoned pork, chicken, and beef make an easy stir fry Sunday night dinner with white steamed rice and veggies. The separate warehouse for cosmetics and household goods is also where I picked up my moisture sleeping pack.

Teena N.

Yelp
Convenient Korean market in Oakland, There's parking and anything and everything you need to make your Korean dish. I enjoy the selection of meats and vegetables, I come here often for it. Once in a while I'll grab their fruits here. There's also a mini bakery inside. Once in a while, I'll grab a bunch of pastries from here, they all taste similar to me with different fillings. There's always security at the front, so it's very nice to see them every time I go in and out. They are cool I really appreciate them. This is the place to go for your Asian groceries around this part of Oakland.

Dani M.

Yelp
Being one of the very few Korean grocery stores in the east bay, it's well worth the trip. With a security guarded parking lot, and a home/kitchen store right Nextdoor, they have everything you'd need; plus even when busy, lines never get too bad. I specifically come here for any kitchen supplies, the prepared Banchan and other dishes, along with what I call "Korean Spam" I had discovered a few years back. This stuff is TOP TIER for processed luncheon meat, you have to try it. It's healthier, more flavorful, and gets crispier than spam without drying out!

Edmond H.

Yelp
The biggest selection of kimchi I've ever seen! Also a good selection of rice, which I like. It's a pretty clean market, but and I had no trouble finding what I needed.

Erin N.

Yelp
Dont shop there any day- this marked seems to be owned by a slumlord that does not properly care for his buildings, one of which is next to this market, and looks neglected. Today there was a protest, picket and boycott today for the market, and the people living in the building face surviving in an unsafe living environment. Everyone should bring this up in the community every day until some repairs are made to this building and the tenants are well taken care of.

Sherry B.

Yelp
I've been going here for years and never left a review until now. I feel this market really cares about their customers. They just updated their driveway gate in the back that opens up one-way automatically. This way, people won't experience car break-ins anymore. They also have security onsite all day who are very friendly and loves to say hello guests coming in or leaving. They even help assist drivers find parking during their downtime. The staffs are super sweet and kind when I needed help. You don't always see a grocery market renovating the outer perimeter of their store. The food sales are great weekly. Kimchi is always made fresh! I appreciate that they rotate new inventory, so it's always been exciting to revisit to try out the new stuff. They also hold some of the most popular alcohol beverages. During Lunar New Year, there would be special gifts included with a certain alcohol purchase. This year on 2024, a bottle of Hennessy would give you a choice of a Lunar New Year fan, gold color chopsticks, and a bracelet.

Lorenzo H.

Yelp
Yea glad this Asian market exists and just has everything I need to fill up an Asian pantry. Produce is fresh, have a lot of mushroom and tofu options. I like the frozen section as well. It's pretty similar to hmart

Tia N.

Yelp
Improve your security. Very rude for no reason. Sucks because I do historically like shopping here but as prompted what can be improved is the very rude security. I will not be coming back here tomorrow as yelled at me.

Irene C.

Yelp
I am afraid to go out at night, even in the day time in Oakland. It is dangerous with so many robberies and burglaries. The government isn't doing anything about it! My friends and people I know keep getting robbed left and right . But I had to buy something for New Years coming up so I came here with my Mom around 6 pm today. I remember they used to have just one security guard and now they have 6 security guards walking around the parking lot! Two at the front of the store and 4 were around both front and back parking lots. My mom and I felt super safe! The security guards were very nice too! I'm glad at least my favorite grocery store is safe to shop at !

Isaac N.

Yelp
Not an H Mart, but it has all the goodies for what I'm looking for when I have Korean food craving

shaela s.

Yelp
Omg. My new go-to market. Who needs Trader Joe's Kkmbap when you have the ones here and they never run out! This market is great. Good meat and reasonably priced!

Zoë L.

Yelp
Shopping here for certain Asian necessity, they have a good selection of meats, vegetables, Ramen, and frozen food. They just opened a new section for bakeries where the old bakery was. However, I ate a mango creme sandwich and it had hints of garlic!! They need to have a separate knife for chopping chilis and garlic. I'm a little scared to buy another fruit sandwich because I really dislike that taste of garlic taste on my fruits. Parking is good and the security guards are amazing.

Andrea L.

Yelp
This is my local go-to Korean grocery store. We don't have any H-Marts around this part of the East Bay but this market has been a staple for years and years. Pricier than a Chinatown grocery store, but excellent selection, the market itself is very clean and organized. Huge plus that it has its own parking lot (even though it's small). The security guard in the parking lot is also nice for peace of mind.

Aimee A.

Yelp
I shop here maybe once a month to pick up ready-made bits and Asian/Filipino ingredients, especially produce. Selection is decent for Filipino cuisine. Clean and with friendly staff. It's my local Asian grocery store! The parking lot is a bonus. Although the lot can get a little crazy, there's usually a nice security guard or two who help to move it along.

Stone Z.

Yelp
Pretty nice place! Huge selection of mushrooms and produce, my main favorite was the vegan canned seitan they have. It's a tad more than I've seen it at big chains, but they've got more variety all in one place. They DO take EBT / food stamps. I went there on first Friday and didn't have a problem with it myself. There's a ton of ramen choices too. May try some other things like grass jelly and the like if I swing by again :) I got a lucky $1 bin of discounted baby kale and some on sale vegan frozen veggie buns. Their konjac jelly pouches are also really nice, and I appreciate the red bean green matcha mochi being at this one too. Would be cool to see more premade vegan stuff that was veggie based, but ya gotta sell what sells and people love fish sauce

Lisa H.

Yelp
I love coming here to get all my Korean staples! The parking can be very tough since this place is ALWAYS packed! Highly recommend coming in the morning instead of the after work rush. Delicious hot packaged foods! I love getting Korean ramen, ban chan, seaweed salad, and Korean snacks here. Not nearly as large as h Mart but the selection is nice with so many different kimchi's!

Susan J.

Yelp
OK, so for the East Bay Area there are few choices for a Korean/Asian market and some older people feel like they need to be afraid to drive into Oakland. But they would be missing out on a GREAT ASIAN MARKET. Not only is there Korean food items for purchase but lots of other ethnicities will be happy to find stuff they crave, and people who like Asian snacks will be happy. Some things seem a dollar or two pricier than in Los Angeles, but this market has lots of deals that can work for you. Frozen meats and fish and fresh, plenty of vegetables and wow tons of mushrooms! If you have an elderly Asian parent who can't drive far, treat them to a visit here. It has its own parking lot and nice security people, the staff is friendly and will answer questions. I'm pretty sure if you speak English, Korean or Spanish you won't have any problems finding anything. The store is super clean and everything is laid out neatly and they seem to take great pains to make sure all the produce looks orderly and perfect.

Yelp
Located near Lake Merritt in the heart of Downtown Oakland close to 980 and 580 freeways, Koreana Plaza Market is pretty easy to get to. Well....depending on time of day, especially during rush hour traffic. But it's pretty easy to navigate during the weekends. Discovered this gem of a place during the pandemic and we've been here several times since. I'm also very impressed by the safety precautions they have implemented by having someone constantly cleaning and disinfecting the shopping carts and they provide every customer with plastic gloves. They also have security outside to keep things in order. Similar to other Asian Supermarkets, they provide a lot of Asian and Korean products....especially to-go foods when you're in a rush and don't have much time to cook. They offer a lot of pre-packaged Korean specialty dishes. But if you're shopping to fill up your pantry, refrigerator and freezer to stock up on grocery items, this is also the place for that. From fresh fruits, veggies, seafood and all cuts of meat that you can't find from Safeway or Albertson's, this is certainly the place. The place is a bit dated, but they do a good job of keeping the place clean, decent and organized. The parking lot is also tiny, but just practice some patience and you will be rewarded with a spot. All in all, a pretty impressive Asian market that caters to all.

Yelp
After a fabulous early dinner at FOB Kitchen a few hours ago, and also participating in the latest Yelp Virtual Event: Chicken Adobo with The Azucal Kitchen. We were able to get Datu Pute, sugar cane vinegar. Chef D swears by using it in Adobo and other Filipino dishes. Chef D also mentioned a secret ingredient that makes Adobo taste even better. They carry it at Koreans Plaza Market, we got it to make Adobo. We got a bag of groceries including pork neck bones to make a broth for soup. We also got Squid Salad--it reminds me of Hawaii. First we parked in their parking lot where there were at least security guards. We forgot to read their protocol for entering the store, about 2 minutes in the store a man approached me, acting rather shyly saying I forgot to put gloves on. So, we followed him out of the store to the table where the vinyl gloves sit waiting to be put on. This places is actively doing there best to stay safe and keep everyone safe. They have lots foods besides Korean: Japanese, Filipino--they say from 40 countries. Of course they don't have everything I want. I can get those foods from other places.

Carol A.

Yelp
Great store, lots of parking with plenty of alert and pleasant security officers. I felt safe shopping here and really appreciate the store's efforts in this area. We rarely go to Oakland but there aren't many Asian stores where we live. I will definitely be back to this store. I loved their selection of Asian groceries and some baked goods. Well organized, decent prices. Easy location close to the freeway. Really liked their separate housewares and beauty area. Everything you need from rice cookers to hotpots.

Edna G.

Yelp
I have been wanting go here but during the pandemic, I have nothing been really wanting to go out. I was impressed by their diligence during the Covid procedure and also had a security guard inspection before going in. They have a pretty good size parking. They also have a supply store on the right for those that want to buy those Korean stone pots and utensils. I was very impressed with their cleanliness, inventory options and selections. They had a huge selection of kimchi, gochujang paste and drinks. They also have prepared marinated meats, veggies and soup mixes. Loved it! Some of the prices are kinda high but not by much. They do have a points card which we used well during our first visit. Staff smiles is to be desired but they are helpful. I will definitely be back here. [3th/100]

Yelp
Market: 4.5/5 - it's actually a larger market than I thought it'd be considering its location in busy Oakland. There's a wide selection of Korean foods and groceries, and the prices aren't terrible. Parking: 3.5/5 - small parking lot so try to go early! Customers keep coming and going though so you might just have to make a couple loops or wait. Hot/Prepared Foods: 3/5 - They had a decent selection of prepared foods, but my boyfriend and I both got upset stomach from it. Not sure if it was from one specific dish or not, but one of the kimchi dishes we bought tasted a tiny bit off. Also, compared to H Mart, their prepared foods are mediocre tasting. We probably won't be coming back here for prepared foods. Their cucumber kimchi also leaked everywhere - it looked completely sealed but somehow it wasn't? Overall: 4/5 - I know it should average out to lower, but given that this is the only Korean market in the area, I'm am pleasantly surprised with the size of it and the wide range of groceries they have, so I'll be coming back for more!

Danielle Z.

Yelp
The perfect Korean grocery store!! Always weekly deals on interested new products to try, and I've found some yummy favorite snacks from it (like the sweet Korean pancake mixes and pho packs) I've been coming here for years, and their selection of Asian and western groceries is always plentiful with reasonable prices. The staff is also always diligent and helpful I also recommend their beauty and houseware annex -- really good home essentials. Very comforting place to be (:

Iona C.

Yelp
I just have to give Koreana 5-stars for the precautions they have taken during the pandemic. They have an employee standing at the doorway to make sure you grab a pair of disposable gloves and some hand sanitizer before making your way inside. This is the ONLY grocery store I've been to in the Bay Area, and the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina, that provides these extra measures and I so appreciate it. Other Notes: If you don't already have a membership points card, you can take your grocery store receipt over to housewares and ask the cashier there to sign up (super short form asking for name, phone number, email, city of residence, zip code, signature and the date). They give you a normal credit card sized card and two smaller keychain cards. Koreana does have a circular on their website, but the applicable dates differ between their Sacramento and Oakland locations so pay attention. Visited them on a Thursday night, around 6:30 pm, and was able to find parking. I think I beat the normal commuter traffic as people leave work in Oakland.

Sherry Y.

Yelp
Koreana Plaza has good selection but definitely not as big as the Korean supermarket in San Jose. They have a decent size parking lot in front and on the side of the store. During COVID, they require you to wear a mask and they provide you with gloves and hand sanitizer (security person in front to enforce it). It was mandatory to wear the gloves and sanitize before walking into the store. My favorite items to get: case of shin ramen, beef&seafood broth, seaweed, kimchi, frozen udon, fish cakes, and the prepackaged fridge item that comes with sauce: dubboki, Jajangmyeon, spicy seafood noodles. It's a great deal especially when it's on sale and easy to make. They also sell side dishes and hot/fresh food. I've only tried the kimbap a long time ago but it's a bit on the pricey side.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Gotta love the KP market (our version of Ranch 99 in Oakland) on Telegraph- it has my usual Asian goodies when I want to get some fresh noodles, frozen dumplings, KBBQ fixings, certain cuts of meats, veggies, fresh seafood (including sushi-grade sashimi), etc. that you can't get from those other cookie-cutter grocery stores. It's usually very bustling and since Covid, they have implemented safety precautions- gloves, hand sanitizer, and limited customer entry. Workers are pleasant. Some of my favorite meals to make from a trip here are hot ramen/buckwheat soba noodle salad, shabu (hot pot- they have set veggie/meat packs in the fridge near the exit), KBBQ (they have a variety of marinated meats), and dumpling soups. Prices are ok- there are some cheaper items but overall there are some on the higher end due to imports from Asian countries. Happy to have this (not so hidden) gem a few miles away.

Laurie H.

Yelp
Mad props for store longevity. Today I was searching for something in housewares (didn't find) but of course went through the market too. So happy I did - in the prepared food section I found my favorite treat of stir fried anchovies, and along with another treat of stir fried peanuts, I bought them and mixed them for my afternoon snack. Delicious spice ingredients on the anchovies...I normally just have them salted. The store is very clean and well-stocked. The fish aisles looked good...almost bought some clams but had clams for dinner this week already. Easy checkout...although Gen Z was there with their smartphone checkout situation which wasn't working so they tried over and over and then finally pulled out a credit card. No longer listening to my Gen Z kids who try to get me to pay with my phone :-) Honestly it was way worse than waiting for grandma to write a check cuz at least she earned the right to make everyone wait! LOL Of course I'll be coming back here.

Joanna S.

Yelp
Cute small Korean Market! I grew up near K-Town in LA, so this place is definitely no H-Mart, but KP Market is still a great small market for all your Korean essentials and some other Asian adjacent foods. I come here often for kimchi, bibimbop, garlic chili oil, and even sashimi. Pros: -Good selection of prepackaged Korean food. -The bakery is cute, too. Perfect options for breakfast, dessert, and parties. -Free parking in lot. -Good sake and soju selection. Cons: -The only negative is the limited Asian drink selection.

Frank S.

Yelp
Box of yellow mangos I bought not even a week ago in this condition. And these cheap employees wouldn't give me a refund or exchange either I bet. Cause I tried with another fruit and they claimed I hate half of it when that was not even the case with this fruit . I hope if someone from the store reads this I get my refund. Never ever buying their fruits again.

Shannon W.

Yelp
The inventory is acceptable, but not wonderful. I walked across all the aisles in the span of 40 minutes thinking over what I wanted. I have to say I'm both a practical (for standard goods) but excitable (looking for new products to try) shopper at Korean grocery markets. The snacks section is poor. One aisle of mostly dried snack foods, that don't have new things that strike my curiosity and want to throw down some extra bucks. They do have some fun fruity alcoholic drinks (like matcha nigori), that may have garnered a sub-following. Dependable is better than no options, right? The cooked section wasn't much better in terms of variety. I only saw 5-10 options. I'm used to 15+ to make my decision challenging. I like the extra challenge. Value for the price point is down the middle: I've seen for some products have lower prices at kukje (Daly City). People who like sanitation - delight! This is by far one of the more stricter stores I've seen. There are markers on the floor (ofc) marking the six feet lines, carts that blockade and direct traffic and the entrance, a man sitting on a stool to make sure you're following orders. But more uniquely, you're instructed to wear (take one only) pair of gloves, and put hand sanitizer over the gloves before you go inside the store.

Nolan C.

Yelp
An excellent Korean grocery store. Stopped by here as I wanted to purchase some stuff to make black bean sauce noodles/jajangmyeon and japchae at home. Got everything I needed and then some. Store was super clean and the produce section was solid and fresh. Prices are great too (...hello Japanese spicy curry impulse buy!) They are also certainly prepared to make a safe shopping environment with COVID-19. Gloves are provided and they even ask you to put sanitizer...on your gloves! In terms of bagging, they don't allow backpacks or bags inside the store, but you can bring them and put them in designed spots. Or, you can simply pay for a plastic bag (a very sturdy one at that). The line to enter the store was not too long when I went Friday around noon; I maybe waited 10 minutes. Finally, even the cashier I had when checking out was super nice and cheerful. Thank you Koreana Plaza for a true 5-star grocery shopping experience!

Katie Y.

Yelp
Oakland/Berkeley lacks the Korean grocery stores seen in South Bay, but KP is a solid option. It is not a huge store but had everything I was looking for. They also had pretty tasty prepared foods (incl gimbap yummmm) I appreciate their commitment to COVID safety- they make everyone put on gloves and use hand sanitizer before entering. Once inside they have many registers open, which means I don't need to wait long to checkout. Minus one star because parking is tight on weekends and the area is kind of seedy (ie I would rather circle for a parking spot than park half a block away). Disclaimer, I am Asian but not Korean, but I've gone to plenty of Korean marts.

Sally C.

Yelp
This place is my go to to get all my Korean food essentials, especially if I don't want to spend so much money on eating out for Korean food. I live in Oakland so other Korean markets are pretty far away from me. This store sells a wide variety of groceries and sauces - like SO MANY Asian type sauces you can think of! Korean food can be on the pricier side. Usually they have sales for the items that I purchase.

Amabel Y.

Yelp
Since the pandemic, this has been one of our go-to places almost every weekend to stock up on groceries since dining out is not ideal at this time. They have a huge variety of korean snacks, frozen food, seafood, banchans, ramen, sauces, etc. My go-to items are sliced pickled radishes, pork belly, kimchi, soy bean paste and lettuce. They have special deals on random items so be sure to look out for live abalone in the seafood section. One of the best abalone I've had in awhile! I appreciate how they provide gloves to prevent the spread of germs prior to entering the market. They also follow the 6' distance requirement and limit a certain amount of customers to enter at a time. Parking is great, they have parking in the front and in the back so I am never worried if not finding parking. They also have parking attendants guide you to a parking spot when it is really crowded.

Yelp
I have been looking everywhere for pickled radish or takuan and ssamjang and rice cakes and this market had everything I needed and then some!

Yelp
This place is much MUCH smaller than the one in Sac, they don't have the Eastern European section, the parking is terrible, and staff are strange. I was in line to check out, there were a few more lines with people waiting, when the employee in the checkout line next to mine suddenly closed her line, yes, with people waiting, and walked off telling them to find another line to get into. Shoutout to security guards for being nice though, one was pointing out open spots and another smiled as he reminded people to use sanitizer before walking in.

Yelp
They really do have conscious good selection here. Produce us very fresh, healthy version is MORE than most other similar supermarkets. I don't live close by but if I'm in the area I will make a special visit to this market.

Yelp
Great Korean plaza to get Korean groceries whenever my wife and I are in the area. The store does not have as great of selection as H Mart but with none in the east bay area, this is the best option in the area.

Yelp
Not only are the employees friendly and helpful, the array of Asian delicacies are unsurpassed. I am a devotee of Korean food and found EVERYTHING I could hope for. The produce is first rate and the fresh ready to eat items are ideal. I always find the perfect cut of meat or great fish at very reasonable prices. This is a treasure trove! Check it out!
