The University City Lunch Guide - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Franklin’s Table might be a cafeteria, technically, but it’s also an outpost for some of the best restaurants in Philly. At KQ, Kensington Quarters’ spot in the hall, they serve a short menu of mostly sandwiches (plus fries and pickled vegetables), but the thing you really should get here is the classic burger. It comes topped with cheddar, KQ sauce, and roasted red onions, and is one of the best burgers in the area." - Sydney Mcelwee

KQ Burger Review - University City - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Franklin’s Table probably came into existence as kind of a quasi-cafeteria for college students, but it’s turned into an outpost for some of the best restaurants in Philly to serve more casual stuff that can be picked up in between classes or on your way home from the gym. Kensington Quarter’s spot in the hall is called KQ, and it serves a short menu of mostly sandwiches (plus fries and pickled vegetables). The only thing you really need to focus on here, though, is the classic burger, which comes topped with cheddar, KQ sauce, and roasted red onions, and is one of the best burgers in the city." - Sydney McElwee

Quick stop at the satellite location of one of my favorite places in Fishtown. Smokey burger was pretty good, addition of two whole onion rings on top was definitely key. The fries were well portioned and very crisp. I appreciate the touch screen and cashless ordering system. One thing to improve would be the flavor of the meat itself, it kind of got lost in the mix of all the other flavors.

The cook crushed the burger with his weight but it still managed to be a juicy and very greasy burger. Really sweet pickles threw off the experience. Touchscreen ordering system is not very intuitive or efficient. I understand the complaints. Worth trying once to see if it’s your thing. It’s not really my thing, sadly.

Meh. My son and I specifically looked up reviews to find the best burger we could in downtown. Both of us agreed that it didn't really live up to the hype. After two burgers, two fries, and two drinks; our bill was close to $40. Which, felt high. The sauces were unique for the burgers, so your mileage may vary depending on your tastes.

Over the year that I regularly visited the burgers were always of high quality. Surprisingly I also rarely had problems with orders. I find the touch screen ordering very intuitive. I highly recommend the spicy pepper burger and their fries! I hope you reopen soon!

The food gets better with each visit- seriously. The service is consistently warm and friendly, and the staff are very knowledgeable about their product. You can tell that they take customer feedback seriously and work hard to serve the best burgers and fries around. Plus, the cheese sauce is perfect. Perfect.

Burger was good, fries were good but could use less salt. Hipster place with touch screen ordering and no cash - although that is about to change with Philly outlawing cashless restaurants starting this summer - so if you want to use cash, wait until probably July to check it out. That will definitely be an improvement!

KQ Burger served me the strangest chicken sandwich. It was an incredibly stingy thin slice of chicken breast with a full sandwich's worth of batter, fried. The thing was nearly impossible to eat because the chicken was so tough and the breading was falling off everywhere. It feels like a mistake must have been made, since the rest of the sandwich was very nice. The fries were fine. Service was fine. But probably the worst chicken sandwich of my life.

Burger was completely undercooked. Unfortunately the person who took our order was less than helpful and discouraged us from asking them to cook it more. We asked for a plate or tray when we got our food and the employee said to just rip the bag in half that he gave us. My friend got a burger that was more cooked and she said it still tasted bad and was wet. Both of our burgers fell apart because the patty was so oily. Won’t go there again.
