Best Restaurants in the Texas Hill Country | Eater Austin

"This revitalized longtime German beer hall and restaurant in New Braunfels serves up plentiful draft beers, schnitzels, and sandwiches in its lively, mostly alfresco space. Both its indoor and outdoor dine-in areas come alive with a festive spirit, even well after the beloved Oktoberfest, the fall festival New Braunfels is known for, is over. Although it’s firmly inside Texas, for anyone with international aspirations but a local budget, it’s practically Bavaria." - Deven Wilson

What a great German restaurant and bierhaus!! We came for lunch and enjoyed outstanding service (Thank you, Edgar). The food came out fast and was delicious. We had the Monday special, chicken salad on mixed greens with crostini and seeded crackers. It also included a choice of soup or salad. The potato soup was fabulous. The sausage plate came with two pieces of sausage, roasted potatoes, red cabbage and sauerkraut. The spinach salad with hot bacon dressing, chopped pecans, cheese crumbles, sliced apple and sliced boiled egg was fresh and also delicious.

A schlitterbahn bartender recommended here in that it offers really good German food and they were so right. My server David Boozer, who was great (his second day!), recommended the Wiener Schnitzel with a beer called Paulener Oktoberfest, which was perfect. The combination on the plate almost brought me to tears so good! I still had an appetite so I tried the deviled eggs which were also amazing! Finished it off with a chocolate shake, also great. Highly recommend this place, and I will be back with friends!

Jason waited on us today. It was fabulous. We had the sausage sampler platter and it was delicious, what a cute place with a great lineup. Wish we were around on the weekend.. 100+ taps of beer in the bier garden. I WOULD RECOMMEND

We had a reservation. It was still very chaotic. I also feel like they were very shortstaffed. It took him over a half hour to take her food order and we asked to have appetizers first and they brought the appetizers trays at the same time. Nothing turns me off more That being said the food was quite delicious. The beer list is very expensive. The dessert was very tasty the apple strudel I really enjoyed brussels sprouts and the pretzel had a nice layer of butter on it. I guess my advice would be maybe don’t go on the weekends.

Google
First time was great. Food was delicious, lots of great german options! The Biergarten wasn't too busy at noon on a Tuesday, and we were able to get in and get out pretty quick, but I'll definitely be back when I've got more time to try out their beer menu!

I met a group in New Braunfels for lite snacks and to visit the downtown area. We decided to visit Krause's for some beverages and appetizers. I arrived around 5pm on 5/24 and was lucky enough to find parking next to the restaurant. Note there are approximately 30-40 spaces, that are covered, for Krause's customers. If you do not find parking here. You are probably relegated to locating a spot on the street or in a pay for parking lot nearby. We decided to sit outside under the patio. Area. Unfortunately, it was quite warm in Texas on this day, as it was around a 100°. Luckily, they have oscillating fans blowing to kind of cool off the customers. There was also a live band scheduled to play from 6 to 9 pm. I thought they were quite good. They played a lot of late 50s, and 60s, 70s and 80s music. The band name was The Court Jesters. Our server, Ryan, was very attentive and always checking on us. He was very good about refilling our waters. After getting a chance to talk with everybody we order drinks. They have quite an assortment of beers on tap and bottled and also have a variety of other drinks, including non-alcoholic beverages. We later ordered appetizers and/or dinners and ate as we listen to the music. Other than it was being very hot and humid, typical for late May in south Texas. We really enjoyed the venue. The staff was fantastic as far as the service, and the band was really good. The parking is the only roll the dice and like I said, we were lucky enough to find a spot. We tried an assortment of meals or snacks - everything from Chicken Tenders to Chicken Fried steak to some salads and poppers. I didn't hear anybody say any bad about any of the food. I hope that if you visit your experiences as good as mine. Krause's, it seems is a very, very good place to visit for those either living in the area or visiting the area.

Google
What a fun spot! We came here several years ago and we were excited to return. Huge beer selection, appetizers, live music, helpful staff, dog friendly patio and great swag! What’s not to love! We had the lunch IPA and the Meanwhile Tender IPA, both amazing (the color of the MT is better but the flavor of the lunch is standout). My husband had the wings and they were some of the best we’ve ever had, not greasy at all. I had the pretzel, I didn’t love the mustard sauce, it was too gritty for me (think more mustard seeds than actual mustard) but the queso was very good. It’s also nice that the pretzel comes in two sizes, pictured is a small.

Google
My experience is above expectation in general. The food is good. The service is good. The wait for a table inside was not too long. Now, here is the some of not so good things. There are so many people inside area making it very noisy. Well, it must be a good restaurant. Second thing is that I wanted to try the daily special and it was sold out at 6PM. It means I need to come back again. The last one was the parking. They don't have enough parking and there were so many people coming to this place. They should have a bigger parking.

Yelp
Great German food and great atmosphere! Krauses is always a good choice for German food. It has the best selection of beers in New Braunfels and I'd argue the best German food as well. The wait staff are always kind and helpful. They give good recommendations and make you feel like family! The atmosphere is usually pretty busy with outdoor and indoor seating. In the cool weather sitting outside at the huge bar is nice! The food is always fresh and the beer is great. It's not the best German food I've had but it's an incredibly solid local choice. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
The food at Krause's is outstanding. We have yet to have a bad item on the menu. We love getting the wild game sampler to start, but their Reuben and Hot Chicken sandwich are both great options. The schnitzel is top notch, and the german potato salad steals the show. The drink options are plentiful as one would imagine, with a ton of beers on tap to choose from. The indoor and outdoor areas are both great with plenty of space for a group. The outdoor area is also great for kids to run around and play, which is always a great benefit. The service can be a bit slow at times because it is a large place with a ton of folks there, but in some ways, it helps keep the experience relaxed and not rushed. Overall - great restaurant and place to go!

Yelp
Food: the food was amazing! It is definitely on the more heavier side but if you are super hungry I would come here. Service: Because the seating is indoor and outdoor, the service isn't as attentive but still had them check every once in a while. Ambiance: I did not see the inside, but it was nice sitting outside because there was some live music going when we came. I would overall I would this spot a 4/5 for its uniqueness.

Yelp
Service was superb! Parking was available on the street across the place when the lot was full. The reuben fries came with cheese, sauerkraut, and a sauce that was just perfection. Everything balanced each other out and was a great snacking dish to complement the beer. Got the rotbier and it was delish! They have a wide variety of beers, most of them commercial but a decent amount are German beers.

Yelp
Huge and clean, with fairly good service and cuisine, just not quite five stars. The Bananas Foster French Toast was mediocre at best, and the service, though pleasant, required some flagging down a couple of times. Prices are definitely lower than what I expected.
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
The new vegetarian burger is not good. They had the best vegetarian burger in town. Far better than anyone else, but they changed to their own patty which falls apart and is dry. I hope they go back to the Beyond Burger patty.

Yelp
Grabbed breakfast here one morning on our way back from San Antonio. We ate inside and not in the beer garden. Food was good, service was good, and worth the detour off of the Interstate. Recommended.
google avatar

Raven I.

Yelp
We have went here a few times, and I have not been impressed. The food is mediocre at best, service is usually slow with a wait, and the ambiance is loud with so many people dining together along rows of benches. Parking on a busy day is chaotic, with overflow being in adjacent dirt parking lots, streets, and paid parking areas. My husband always enjoys going here for the draft beers, they apparently have a good selection there. It's a touristy hotspot that seems to be where you need to go at least once, but there are better German restaurants in the area/hill country.
google avatar

Patti W.

Yelp
Love this place. The beer selection is huge and the pretzels are the best. We also enjoyed a wonderful salad The service was great and the cafe is decorated with lights and colors.

Yelp
I was in dire need of vegetables on my road trip to New Braunfels so I ordered a salad and soup here. I wasn't expecting much but honestly the Market Greens salad was pretty good! Vegetables were fresh and crisp and the herb vinaigrette tied everything together nicely. I was pleasantly surprised by the grilled salmon. I ordered it medium well and it wasn't dry at all. It was seasoned well too. The lentil soup however is a skip. Way too salty I couldn't even finish it. I was a huge fan of the live music they played outside. They played modern and classic hits that got me up and dancing with my friends which was a great time! Definitely come check this place out if you're visiting New Braunfels with a big group.

Yelp
It's hard not to enjoy Krause's if you accept it for what it is. It's a beer garden, family and dog-friendly, with a hundred taps and way-above-average pub food. It's not a foodie heaven, but that's not what they're aiming for. We go there for the cold beer, friendly service, fun live music, and good burgers and sausages. I recommend the wild game sausage assortment.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun, loud and lively with a German biergarten vibe. German food and 100 beers on tap. We were a group of 11 and had a great time.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
Excellent Biergarten Experience! Mrs., Charles enjoyed excellent service from Allisa. Fantastic 1/2 off German Beer specials on Tuesday as well as 1/2 off YUMMY pretzels. We split a weinerschintzer and it was delicious. Same with German Chocolate cake (ok not great).
google avatar

Yelp
A nice place to have breakfast but.... If you can't include two pieces of toast on a breakfast plate you should adjust your price in order to do so. Give the customer a receipt upon payment. I don't come to your restaurant to save you the half penny it costs to print a receipt !!! ( PETTY ) !!!!
google avatar

Karla D.

Yelp
This place seriously reminds me of old school spots I've visited in Germany. They have a large food hall and dining room with a large Biergarten as well. Very open and spacious. Close to 100 beers available! Our server was so nice and accommodating. I loved having a brat served in a pita; what a fun concept. All of the food was spot on and as I mentioned for reminiscent of Germany.

Yelp
Krauses is an awesome place to stop if you're in NB and need a break from being on the river ! Parking: There isn't as much parking as I would expect. When we arrived the parking lot was full so we opted to pay to park in the lot across the street. Despite their lot being full, the venue was not and there was tons of seating Space: They have so much space ! There's outdoor seating by the stage that is covered, as well as some outdoor seating that's uncovered. We wanted to sit outside because the weather was perfect but the live music was way too loud. There's 2 indoor seating areas. One is further into the building and seems to be more for a "nicer" experience with AC and a sit down meal. It opted to be in the middle section which was a perfect mesh of outdoor and indoor, and we could still hear the live music ! Menu: The menu was pretty extensive ! The pretzel is absolute perfect ! We enjoyed the potato (kartofell) as well but the pretzel was next level! As a non-beer drinker I really appreciated that they had multiple cide options. You could order the cider the same way you order beer - in a normal glass, giant glass, or a 4 flavor flight. Service: The hostess stand was a bit disorganized. We waited for a long time with quite a bit of confusion to be sat. Once we were sat though, our server was amazing ! Super sweet and unbeat! Overall we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back !

Yelp
I've been to Germany numerous times and I've always been searching for good German beer, especially living in New Braunfels (a German town), but never could seem to find that good German beer I remember until I came here. There was a band outside, so music was loud and great, and the bar area had a variety of beer to choose from (American & German). You have options from sitting outside where the bands at, inside near the bar area, or inside the restaurant for a more family restaurant vibe. Once seated we were quickly served and I had to order the pretzel with my Hefeweizen! It's a must! We ended up ordering the JÄGER SCHNITZEL and the Pork Shank. Everything was delicious and the beer was phenomenal! So if you're looking for authentic German restaurant with authentic German beer, this is the spot! I will most definitely be coming back to this location and might even make it my bar I go to regularly!

Yelp
We came here twice for drinks and brunch. The Bloody Mary was great and full of goodies - bacon, pickled green bean, okra, pickle and celery. The server came off confident about what the Bloody Mary had but was incorrect. I note this because my friend specifically does not like bacon and he confidently said they don't serve them with bacon, when both of mine on two separate days had bacon. I got the adult chicken fingers with two sides. I was disappointed that it only came with 2 chicken fingers for an adult portion. The fries that came with my boyfriend's cheeseburger was phenomenal. The ambiance is good, very German like and smells like honey suckles. It's right next to the farmers markets on Saturdays which is super convenient. They had live music on the patio for brunch as well.
google avatar

Paul N.

Yelp
If you have a hankerin' for some good German food, this is your place. The sausage sampler and deviled eggs are a must. I highly recommend the German meatball and spätzle. The gravy ties it all together nicely. The service is a little slow on Saturday nights but they are serving so many people it's to be expected. Fishies all off with a German chocolate cake! I'll be back!
google avatar

Grace G.

Yelp
If you love german food you should go. I didn't like anything, but the pretzel. Meatloaf was bland. The place was very cool and fun to be at. The service was very good.

Lissa M.

Yelp
So I'm sick and all I wanted was some soup and Krause's weekly special of French Garlic soup was calling to me so I placed a to go order and I went in my PJs to go pick it up. Made it home and it was all over the bag! Since they've been in business forever, I would think that they would be smart enough to know that if you have a cardboard lid that doesn't snap on, you need to tape it down for to go but when I called I was very unhelpfully told by a very bored sounding voice that that is not the case and no offer to make it right was made. Should I have checked the soup? Yes. My only excuses is that I'm sick and my brain isn't working right but also I gave them way too much credit for having common sense that a lid like that needs to be taped down. Next time I'll just go to a place that I know knows how to do to go orders correctly.

Yelp
Absolutely HIGHLY RECOMMEND Krause's Cafe... if you love German atmosphere and food! We will be coming back while we are in the area! Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the Brussels Sprouts but..... I cannot put into words about how ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND THE BEST we have ever had Get them you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
I have no idea about foods. Die ScheiBe! Nothing Authentic about this place. There is no service provide which I even asked, can I order at the counter, they said, someone will come and take care of you and wait at the table which I waited 30 min exactly see how they treat their customers. Not busy as you see the photos but feel not good about, maybe my skin color is NOT white. Hope they know I used to live in Berlin and most of my friends are either pure or Germanic decent. Feel the racism alive and well in this restaurant here and I don't care most servers are college dropped out. I myself in service industry for 10 years while I was in college and grad school. This is nothing near to German culture or I doubt the foods would be good. I am leaving now, and get the food elsewhere !
google avatar

Yelp
There recently for a work dinner party. The place was rockin' as most are in DT NB these days. Decent table service. Live music outside. Less than totally fabulous table fare inside. The Schnitzel totally missed the mark. We had every one on the menu. Tasted like a Swanson's frozen dinner. All of them. On the upside, the pork shank was surprisingly quite notable. And the Reuben sandwich was on point as usual, one of the best in the city. The Schnitzel used to be a staple here, no idea what happened. Would love to know.

Yelp
I have been a Yelp Elitest for a few years now. Krause's Cafe has been advertised on the Yelp app as long as I have been using it. I am ashamed of all the time, food, and music I have missed out on. This was my first time, and as the saying goes, "I will never forget my first time." The weather was perfect for outdoor seating, the venue is just what you expect to see at a German themed Beer Gartien. There was plenty of beer options. I really wanted some German beer but I also wanted to eat and drink more than one beer. So I went with the "Freetails - 401K" it was terrific. For my meal I ordered the "Venison Burger". I don't come across many menus with Venison so when I do..I go after it. It was amazing, wrapped in bacon, stuffed with cheese and jalapeños, with a side of fries. "Maddison" was our waitress and she was very polite, and professional. She only improved the experience. I was there to also see "The Tiffiny Dawn Band" they put on a great show and sand a lot of the hits, and some of my favorite songs. I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
This place was great! I came in a large group and we ordered a bunch of stuff off the menu and it was all delicious! The brussel sprouts were super tasty, if you aren't a brussel sprout person just try these, I promise you will be converted! The pretzel was good, classic pretzel stuff there nothing too crazy. The German meatball was so good! The meat itself was seasoned very well, you know how sometimes you get a huge meatball like that and the meat is just bland, this was not! And that mushroom sauce was so flavorful. Can't go wrong with that. Charcuterie board was good too, just some nice meats and cheeses to sample. Service was decent, they were kinda packed at the time and I didn't feel like we were waiting too long for the food or anything. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. If you are in town looking for some good German food def check this place out!
google avatar

Yelp
You can never go wrong with eating at Krause's Cafe in New Braunfels TX. The wife and I enjoy an early dinner after visiting the local SaengerFest which was pact full of market tents and entertainment! I was craving German food so we hit Kraus's cafe just before heading home. The Jaeger Schnitzel was nicely cooked with a tasty mushroom gravy. I opted for the Fries vs the potato's and was not disappointed. I asked for a side of mayo as I like my fries with mayo (German way). I enjoyed a flight of Hefeweizens. The wife ordered a salad and it was so big that she had to box half up to take home for later. If you're in the New Braunfels area and looking for some German Food.. Kraus's Cafe is where you need to stop.

Yelp
Hubby kiddo and I got here around 530 Friday evening and were seated in the beer hall immediately. The food is always consistent and the staff friendly.
google avatar

Kristin B.

Yelp
LOVE the atmosphere. It can get a little loud but it wasn't too bad. The employees were on top of it, my drink never got empty and plates were cleared right away. I enjoyed the steak sandwich. It was very filling, and the bread was amazing.

Chad D.

Yelp
Good food but the loud live music on Sunday morning is not required. Loud music on the stage is fine later in the day and into the night but for Sunday brunch it just makes people hate coming here.
google avatar

Mel M.

Yelp
NEW BRAUNFELS, TX: Krause's Cafe is a biergarten, bierhalle, and cafe with over 100 beers, a full bar, and a German American food menu. Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed in the massive space! Long tables, big beers, festive flags, live music and events, and even vegan options make this place a lot of fun for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Prost!
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
This is such a fun spot! We really enjoyed the live music and really friendly servers. The hot chicken sandwich is excellent and don't miss the brussell sprouts as a starter. We really lucked out with parking, but I think after 6:30pm it gets harder to find a spot closeby.
google avatar

Anastasia H.

Yelp
My family lives on pretzels, so when I realized how close we were to Krause's- I knew we had to try. The pretzel was super soft on the inside but had an crisp outer line that gave a mild tug, any softer and it would have been a breadstick- this is all a good thing in pretzel world - haha! I'm not a mustard fan but my boys are, and I decided to try because when in Rome! I enjoyed the honey mustard but the top dip of course was the beer cheese. Our family of three enjoyed this together! Iced tea was good and so was the frozen lemonade my little guy ordered. We sat on the porch on a very warm day but it was perfect! Not too loud and with the fans, it was more than bareable.
google avatar

Susan B.

Yelp
How fun! We sat in the Biergarten section and the heaters kept us warm since it is school cafeteria style seating outside. Our server, Kaylee, was sweet and helpful! The Bloody Mary was my cocktail of choice, very nice! Check out the photo! Love when your cocktail could be breakfast! Eggs Benedict are my favorite so that's what I ordered. Absolutely perfect! This is now a favorite!
google avatar

Sharon C.

Yelp
I was not impressed with my experience here but maybe it was an off day. Our server seemed to not want to be there. We were overcharged. We waited forever for a beer that never came & were told the bar was 'slow today' though we were sitting right by the bar and they looked to be waiting for someone to order. We should have walked up ourselves. The food was not great either. I ordered the sausage platter which was disappointing bland. All of it, the sausage, the red cabbage lacked in flavor. The potatoes were the only thing good. We also ordered the Ruben fries, those were excellent. I like the beer garden vibe of the place so I would consider trying it again but I'll keep my expectations low
google avatar

Edmarie L.

Yelp
After a morning on the Comal, we drove 5 minutes to Krause Cafe. All I can say is AMAZING! Great vibe, great food, great service. Our server Landra was so friendly and approachable. She provided great beer recommendations to navigate the 100 choices they have on tap. There was live music playing, beer served in heavy mugs, and an abundance of good times. I recommend sitting in the beer hall to get the best of being outside while avoiding the direct heat. We shared the Munich Platter as a party of 3 and could have easily split it 5/6 ways. The pork shank was divine, tender and flavorful. The chicken schnitzel was a good break. And all the sausages were a fun adventure to explore each flavor. Next time you're in NB definitely give them a try.
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
So happy our visit to Krause's café exceeded expectations! Even though we came on a Sunday during lunch, we were seated right away. Service was quick and waters were brought out without having to ask which was much appreciated. We ordered a few frozen margaritas and they had a good taste, perfect for this heat! We shared a pretzel and completely devoured it. The beer cheese and the other sauces ( mustard, honey mustard, dijon) were great! The Ruben sandwich was very good. Food came out fast! The cafe itself is a large beer hall resembling a German hall which is very unique and in tune with the German settlers of New Braunfels. It can be quite loud but I think that's part of its charm. Seats are picnic table style and dog friendly! If you're debating on where to eat, this cafe is a great choice! There's street parking and a small lot adjacent but it can be hard to find a spot there since it's shared with other businesses.

Yelp
We have been wanting to try this place for a long time, and they did not disappoint. Everything was very good. This is some of the most flavorful German food o have ever had. The open pavilion was nice in the afternoon with a nice pint.
google avatar

Iris T.

Yelp
Ambiance was nice. Sat in the middle section where it's not quite outdoors but it's not inside. It was warm and humid but not unbearable. They greeted us with waters and let us browse the menu for a bit. I went with the German potato salad for myself, the kids cheeseburger for my little one and my oldest ordered the Bratentasche and a slice of German chocolate cake to go. My side of German potato salad and kids burger came out fairly quick. The potato salad was awful. I've had German potato salad at many places, even in Germany, too. And this one was just way too sour. Seriously the vinegar and mustard seeds overpowered the potatoes that were nothing but mush. My little one enjoyed his burger, though. The bun was crispy and buttery and the meat was well cooked. He got a side of fresh fruit that truly was 100% fresh. It even had a slice of watermelon, instead of chunks. Which he loved. I peeled the clove of orange for him and ate a little bit of it, and noticed it had a strange chemical taste. I asked my oldest son to try it and he said that as a bartender, he recognized the taste as being the stuff they use to sterilize the cutting trays when doing prep for the bar. So we pushed it to the side. We got our bill and the togo order, paid and left. My son said that he did not like that bratwurst. He said it was dry and the pita bread it came on was about 1/4 of the length of the brat. The chocolate cake was dry and y'all drizzling chocolate syrup on it to moisten it up was atrocious. Ended up paying $33 for the entire meal. You live and you learn but I learned that this is not a place I will ever come to again. Friendly waiters and clean restrooms, though.

Yelp
This place has really good German good. We got the schnitzels and potato soup- everything was delicious. The homemade chips are delicious as well so don't forget to to get that! The beer selection was large as well so it was a memorable meal overall.

Yelp
What a cool place to grab a quick lunch or a full size dinner meal with plenty of beer to choose from. The ambience of perfect. There is ample seating outside and inside the cafe for your preference. The food was fresh and delicious, and that pretzel was soft and warm, perfect with the cheese sauce. The service was friendly and welcoming. Overall this is a great place for authentic German cuisine and cold beers with friends or a special someone

Yelp
Been to Krause's a few times and it is always fun especially during the weekends when there is live music. Love the lively atmosphere. It's a good place to meet up with friends. So many beer choices. I am not a beer drinker but I love their adult wassail. It's warm and comforting, perfect for the Texas winter. The giant pretzel is always a good choice to start with. Last time we went I decided to try the much talked about Reuben Fries and OMG, it was delicious! The combination of fries, sauerkraut, pastrami, cheese and thousand island dressing is perfect. The serving is huge too. They also offer military discount, which is always appreciated. We will be back.

Yelp
Upon walking in you are met with a bustling environment full of smiles and laughter, of all the restaurants I have been to this is indeed one of them. We begin with several appetizers of which I am told are excellent. The chicken shnitzel was swell. Pending any questions this concludes my review.

Yelp
Hats off to Krause's for hosting a fantastic Mother's Day Brunch! We were so pleased with the variety and quality of the food and drinks, that we can't wait for their next buffet. We hope they do it more than once a year! The breakfast items were plentiful, including a station making 4 types of fresh pancakes, an omelet station, yogurt parfait, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, bacon sausage, eggs Benedict, egg frittata, breakfast potatoes, sausage gravy, biscuits, - my favorite, an awesome corned beef hash. I also like lunch items on my brunch menu, and they did not disappoint. They had an amazing beef carving station, chicken in wine sauce, broccolini, salad and German bread. The dessert station had hot peach cobbler, ice cream, an assortment of cookies, brownies and coffee/pound cakes. I also enjoyed the mom mosa, which added vanilla vodka and peach schnapps to the traditional champagne and oj. Of course, a nap was required after this delicious meal. Get your reservations early next year, because all the brunch seatings sold out. However, they had seats inside the restaurant where the normal breakfast menu was available. Service was also very good, and they kept the buffet fully stocked. Really a great celebration!

Yelp
First time here and recommended by my husband co partner. Walking inside cute very open and friendly staff greeted us the minute we walked in Appetizer: Kartoffel poppers- deep fried potato served with sour cream and applesauce it had a weird texture not a real fan Large pretzel- worth every penny Entree: TX schnitzel- thin pork fried thin good seasoning even better with the jalepeno gravy Wiener schnitzel- hubby said it was bland he had to put hot sauce and salt, mashed potato cooked and seasoned perfect, gravy was a sour base which he was not a fan of, I tasted it and made a sour face. Experience was okay great service, food I have had better German food The next day I was sick to my stomach for 2 days

Yelp
Stopped in for an authentic German lunch. The food was amazing. The portions were quite large for lunch and it was a bit pricey. But, I would absolutely recommend!

Yelp
Way over priced beer! Check other areas, shouldn't have to pay $17.50 for a Liter of beer. Swim/tubers need a place to go, have at it.

Yelp
On a Friday at 2:15pm I brought my daughter in to Krauses which would be a first for her. Being one of my favorite restaurants I was excited to treat her. We sit down in the open area where the head bartender explained a waitress would be with us shortly. After 20 minutes of absolute nothing we walked out. Highly disappointed and Krauses needs to hear this. Normally staff is attentive and punctual but this was ridiculous. You're lucky if I'll ever be back. Oh and don't worry the Gristmill was a great replacement!

Yelp
Such a cool concept ruined by quality of food and service progressively getting worse each time we go This place means something to us where we'd bring our kids to and we're getting closer to a point of giving up and finding another spot. Hope ownership corrects this
