Found this place recently and it smelled so good from the parking lot I just had to give it a go. Really good Indian or Pakistani food is rare as a Stradivarius in this region, so whenever I see a place, I try it. I'm a recent transplant from Los Angeles, where these restaurants are common, and I was lucky thru the years to have many coworkers and friends who were Indian nationals, that schooled me in the finer points of their cuisine. I developed a strong, almost fanatical, taste for and love of it.
They're new in this location, and the Bhakta Karki family owners are warm, friendly, and truly devoted to producing the highest quality and expression of Indian delicacies. I sat at a table and was greeted immediately. The decor was bright and colorful, with parasols hung from the ceiling in a beautiful pastiche of traditional weddings. Wonderful Indian music played at a comfortable volume, and made the short wait for my order of Butter Chicken, Basmati rice, and Garlic Naan a relaxing interlude. The presentation of the food was simple and perfect - everything hot, mouth-wateringly fragrant, and nicely portioned to provide at least 2 full meals.
A fold of the Naan, a quick dip in the thick, rich curry sauce - upped my expectations - and the first bite confirmed them. Complexly created, with just the right amount of medium spicy heat, tender strips and chunks of white meat chicken, and the fluffy Naan covered in freshly roasted minced garlic had me back in the gastronomic heaven of one of my favorite foods.
I'll be back, and often - can't wait to try the lamb curry, Biryani, and other delights on the well-apportioned menu!
