12 New Women-Owned Restaurants To Check Out In Chicago

"If you’re thinking “Krazy Hog isn’t new” we understand. After all, Krazy Hog was alive and well in Glenwood until Covid forced them to close last spring. But they reopened last fall as a carryout-and-delivery-only restaurant in Lincoln Park. The menu has things like ribs, rib tips, pulled pork, and sides like mac and cheese and sweet baked beans. One main reason that Krazy Hog stands out is their fantastic sauces. They have several varieties - Krazy original, ’Bama white, Carolina honey, Texas heat, and the magnolia sweet, which reminds us a little of blackberry jam." - adrian kane

Krazy Hog BBQ - Review - Lincoln Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"There’s no shortage of great BBQ in Chicago, and it’s our solemn duty to tell you when we come across another spot. Case in point: Krazy Hog BBQ, which used to be in Glenwood, but is currently operating as a virtual restaurant in Lincoln Park after Covid forced them to close last spring. They’re opening a new brick and mortar on the South Side, but until then you can get their BBQ for carryout and delivery. The menu has things like ribs, rib tips, pulled pork, and sides that are almost better than the meat - like the mac and cheese and sweet baked beans. But Krazy Hog’s from-scratch sauces are the big reason we like ordering from here. They have several varieties of sauce - Krazy original, ’Bama white, Carolina honey, Texas heat, and (our personal favorite) the magnolia sweet, which is as thick as jam and tastes a little fruity. All of them magically enhance the tender, smoky meat and we’re currently investigating what other things this sauce is capable of improving. Preliminary findings indicate fries and wings, but not our Excel skills or the show Emily in Paris." - Adrian Kane

Krazy Hog has got it going on these days. They've added a bar to go with there delicious meals. Oh my God, the hot links here are the freaking bomb. You can't get this at your local grocery store. Come check them out everyone. You will be happy you did.

After reading the reviews we decided to give it a try. Our experience was not the same as others. Ordered the food at the restaurant because we knew it would be piping hot. We waiting approximately 50+ mins to end up with dry & barely warm food. We ordered 4 platters, 1 plate & additional items. The Texas heat sauce was truly the best part of the meal & the chicken wings(tasted like orange chicken), however the other food items were not pleasing to the palette. Thought we'd surprise our family with dinner from a place we hadn't tried. They were confused & disappointed! Wish we had tried this place on one of the previous days from the other reviews because maybe then we would have tasted the greatness others spoke about. If this was the last supper, unfortunately we would all have died hungry. Not meant to be rude, just our experience.

So I decided to give krazy a shot because it had good reviews and it was early and it was not very busy good customer service met the owner and the cook whom I was impressed with his knowledge of grilling. Now to the food ordered the tips platter and add on of fried wings the wings were excellent the sides were good the tips had a good rub the only thing that was off was the cooking process. The meat was a little tough and not enough smoke flavor. The sauce was good so overall I would give them another shot.
