What can one say about this! Amazing coffee, meaning a real mean and perfect double espresso, and silence, all that in the middle of an incredible museum. My wife and I went to this place through a spiral staircase of the first level and were stunned. And to top all that, I was so intrigued by the crests that adorned the walls. Take your time and enjoy looking at them because I apnly had one concern: why, ih, why did I not have more time to spent there? But, we have another trip to the area soon, so we will be back....

Google
This is the cutest little cafe with a terrace area to sit and enjoy peaceful music and amazing food. A guy was taking a nap because of how calm it is. Couches are comfy. Food is so good. This place saved me from a hangover. I love it here.

Google
It's a cafe with a very good atmosphere. It's a good cafe for quiet coffee or tea. The taste of the food doesn't meet expectations, but the atmosphere is so good that I strongly recommend you to put it around.

Amazing coffee shop in the middle of gorgeous museum. I loved it. Their affogato was amazing 🤩

Google
This is a great place to try out if you are: -Hungry in the DIA -Treating your girlfriend to a nice meal -Looking to take a break from the DIA Honestly seeing this place for the first time is a breath of fresh air. It’s like dining outside without the blaring sun, the bugs, and the wind blowing away your food. And honestly the prices were not outrageous especially for the atmosphere you are paying for. The service is wonderful and the food was great. Overall experience: 11/10 PS: looking to try the peach flatbread the next time I go 🤤

Google
Beautiful space to have a bite and the food is actually quite good and fairly priced

Excellent place to have some decent refreshment after enjoying the collection. They do NOT have good quality of coffee but this place has fantastic atmosphere that covers all.

Yelp
Kresge Court at the Detroit Institute of Arts ("DIA") is one of my favorite cafes. I've made an entire day at the DIA and Kresge Court is a good place for a break and a meal after spending hours walking around the museum. I come here to meet with friends or alone to do work while enjoying a lunch or drink. The food is good and made in-house including the sandwiches. The service is good but sometimes the lines are very long and there is a wait during lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
Clean and price is very affordable for food court in museum. Food itself was ok but there are many varieties. I didn't have them but salad bars looks fresh and appetizing.

Yelp
So this rating is for the desserts only. My Wife and I were at the DIA not that long ago and stopped at Kresge Court for a quick snack. The crème brûlée was phenomenal. As were the donut bites. It's a fun place to stop and rest for a bit while you're exploring the DIA

Yelp
This place is truly magical. I love the DIA already for all the wonderful art and exhibits it contains, but Kresge Court is truly a gem amidst the gems already within the DIA. This indoor courtyard is stunning to take in and exist in and very easily accessible on the ground floor of the DIA, just a few turns away from the entrance from John R - just follow the signs directing you to Kresge Court! There's a little ordering counter tucked away in one corner of the court and features an entire menu of drinks, breakfast, and lunch fare for you to order from and all the food and drink is genuinely very good. There are a ton of different seating areas - couches, tables, high-tops, etc. - so it's the perfect place for all sorts of gatherings. Whether you're catching up with friends over a little meal before venturing into the rest of the museum or stopping in to have a business meeting - I've done it all here and it's the perfect setting for all of it. During busier hours - afternoons, especially on weekends - you might be hard pressed to find open seating here, but I think the turnover is relatively quick a lot of the times since there's so much to do within the DIA, so you probably won't need to wait around for long to find a spot. In the meantime, might I suggest a turn about the museum??

Yelp
Chic, cozy, and a perfect cafe for the DIA. There are no bad seats, drinks, or pastries. The only "bad" thing about Kresge Court is having to leave. I've come on busy days and low trickle, and have always been able to find a seat. The staffs' warm and welcoming attitudes plus the lush, plush, and cozy furniture equal a magnificent atmosphere. Kresge is a place to study, to satiate, to converse, and to let the exquisite and astounding works of art wash over you.

Yelp
I love it here!! A friend was visiting from out of town and I brought her here and she agreed that this place is really special. The whole museum is gorgeous and Kresge Court is too. It's inside, but it feels like you are sitting outside. It's bright and airy, spacious and open. The food is excellent. The charcuterie board is fantastic!!! My lavender latte was delicious. The wind is fabulous too. Friendly and helpful service. We stayed here for a few hours, just drinking the ambiance in.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in the city to pull up and work, grab a coffee or a bite, take a meeting, or just hang out. My husband and I have also definitely stopped in here for a glass of wine or a beer during special events at the DIA, Friday night special events, etc. The space is just gorgeous, of course, and blends in seamlessly with the vibe of the whole museum. They've got a varied menu from coffees and teas (love the cold brew), to pastries, sandwiches, shareable small plates and charcuterie, etc. Plus beer and wine if you'd like to imbibe. If you're local to the tri-county area then entrance to the DIA, and subsequently the Kresge Court, is free. But if you're coming from outside you'll need to pay the entrance to the museum or have a membership. I recommend the latter if you're planning on coming by frequently. It's totally worth it!

Yelp
A beautiful spot to have coffee or a meal within the dia, much more charming than the cafeteria. They have oat milk available, and a full food menu, as well as a cooler with various drink options including hard cider. Lots of places to sit comfortably as well as tables and benches. Filled with natural light during most of the day, cozy interior lighting in the evenings.

Yelp
Kresge Court located inside the Detroit Institute of Art is easily a hidden gem. At least from the outside looking in. Once inside, it's easy to see why it's a shiny gem of a spot. From the decor to the ambiance, food, and coffee, this place has character. Just imagine! It's located inside an art museum. I visited to grab a bite and to co work with a colleague and it was perfect. They had reliable wifi, a variety of seating and outlets nearby, and I loved the natural light shining in through the ceiling. While I was there I ordered an iced coffee and the Bánh mì with a side salad. The coffee had me buzzing the whole afternoon through, the salad was refreshing, and the sandwich was huge and delicious. Their menu was pretty creative and included sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, pastries and more. There were several things I'd try on my next visit. If you're visiting the museum or simply looking for a unique spot to work or have a meeting, this is it. Best part is you can enjoy the museum too. It's truly a special place.

Yelp
Although it's part of the DIA, I think that this is a very slept on cafe, with one of the coolest interiors in the city. They have a TON of space, so they're a great option to go to and know that there's space to either hang out or work out of. The coffee is great and they have multiple breakfast and lunch food options. Definitely one of the better hidden gems in Detroit and a really great place to take friends.

Great setting! Food was good. Service excellent. I'll be back next time I'm in Detroit.

Yelp
This was a delightful experience! We stopped in during our visit to DIA and we're so glad we did! The staff were so friendly and efficient and the food was delicious! Try the strawberry jasmine tea and the big soft pretzel! The setting is so lovely as well, the atrium is filled with comfy chairs and natural light. It's well worth a stop when you're at DIA.

Yelp
Located inside the wonderful DIA! Great spot to relax, eat and sip some coffee! Simple menu of foods to order, grab and go, coffee, beer, wine and more!

Yelp
This is such a beautiful court and relaxing place to enjoy a meal at a fine museum. I really enjoyed my lox and bagel with salad while my daughter liked her falafel sandwich and salad and pineapple jarrito. The lady that brought my food over was friendly, but the lady at the register could be a tad more welcoming. Lovely facility, and I am glad we came here
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite place to sit and work. The diversity of seating spaces and energy really accommodates all facets you're ready for. I wish they had more gluten free options though.

Yelp
Food selection mostly snacks service so so Ambiance was nice, good place to sit for awhile

Daphne R.

Yelp
Great food, great staff, beautiful atmosphere ... but we went recently when their DJ was playing and it was a horrible experience - the music was so loud we struggled to have a conversation with one another. It felt like we were at a club or a concert that we didn't want to attend. It seemed like it was about the DJ and not the customers. We went to enjoy a nice casual meal, socialize, and relax. I wish they would consider BACKGROUND music. It felt stressful being there!

Yelp
One of the more gorgeous spots I've ever worked from! This cafe/enclosed courtyard located within the Detroit Institute of Arts is free and open to the public. When you arrive, simply tell the people at the desk that you're headed here and they'll let you through. They had a lot of high top tables, great WiFi, outlets, and table service. I ordered an herbal tea and steak pupusas. They were a little dry, but overall good. The chips and sauce that came with them were also super good. The entire area was colorful, had a lot of natural light, and also offered different types of comfortable seating. I highly recommend relaxing, working or reading a book here. Fun way to experience a taste of the museum!

Yelp
The food at is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. I love the service at the place and the chef is so friendly with the guests and always takes care to offer the best quality! I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Completely confusing and very disappointing experience at Kresge Court this past week. Having a meal here during our museum visit was specifically requested by out-of-town friends visiting Detroit. DIA website says this and the CafeDIA are both temporarily closed. Signage inside the museum also states closed. We walked past the second floor windows that looked down into the court and observed people sitting with food and drink, so we walked down to grab lunch. No signage at the entrance to state what we discovered when we got in line to order at the counter: there is no longer any table service and the menu is painfully limited, split between some sad prepackaged grab-n-go items, two salads, and a couple sandwiches. The line was very slow moving, though the employees were doing their best to take orders, make drinks, and run any kitchen orders out to the tables. Lots of single people seated at 4 tops in the dining area. It was challenging to find a spot for our group of 7 to eat and we ended up in the only space that could accommodate us, at a couch/coffee table configuration in the corner that would be fine for drinks and handheld foods only. Our kitchen items were delivered in an acceptable amount of time. My spring salad was delivered in a plastic clamshell container which seemed unnecessary for dining in. I have a hunch that it was prepped and refrigerated before time, and if that is the case, I would not have ordered it. The dressing was good, but the spring mix and asparagus lacked crispness. The other folks in my party did not care for the flatbread and turkey sandwich that they ordered and those items were left mostly uneaten. No server to bring any of these concerns to, unless we wanted to stand in line again at the counter. This experience was nowhere near the level we have experienced in the past, over 30+ years of coming to Kresge Court! I would skip ordering anything other than a drink here until the DIA figures out what to do with service and food quality in this space.

Yelp
Nice quiet place for a quick bite. Reasonable prices on wine by the glass. Michigan Cherry Salad

Yelp
We had a great experience at the Kresge Court cafe in the DIA. The ambience of the area was gorgeous and it's a special place to have a bite to eat, or a delicious coffee. The service was fantastic and the cafe team made great recommendations for food. Our group tried: Kresge homemade chips with dip. (Amazing!!! Our group devoured these) Woodward Ave sandwich Apple orchard salad Burrata plate And I had the chickpea fritter pita Everyone in our group loved their lunch and we of course all tried each dish. My chickpea fritter pita was excellent and the perfect veg bite for lunch. Highly recommend if you like Mediterranean flavors. This was my first time visiting and I will definitely be back! Expect to pay $10-$15 per person depending on what you order.

Yelp
I can't stop thinking about Kresge Court and how much time I would spend in this space if I were a local. Note that you do not have to pay admission to enter the Court (the atrium boasts a stunning glass ceiling- friendly space for all weather:). Kresge is beautifully decorated and offers a variety of tables and bars perfect for meetings. The cafe sells wine, tea, beer, coffee and small smacks. The staff was also extremely professional and friendly throughout the museum. Although my visit was shorter than I wanted it to be, I enjoyed the free wifi and ginger tea. I was happy to see the space fairly filled on a Thursday afternoon. What a space to be celebrated!

Yelp
Lovely lovely lovely. I had about 45 minutes to kill before my volunteer shift at the Detroit Film Theatre and this was the perfect place to relax. This little hidden nook is right across the way from the DIA cafeteria. They have an extensive food and drinks menu (Never eaten here myself but I was impressed with some of the food options scrolling through the photos on yelp) but you don't have to buy anything to hang out here. Most people weren't even eating when I came. They revamped this place a while ago and call it the DIA's new "comfy living room." Aesthetically it's very pretty on the eyes and it gets wonderful lighting with the huge skylight. This used to be an open air courtyard back in the day which is kind of fun to think about. I sat in one of the futuristic looking yellow chairs and although it looked cool, it wasn't the most comfortable for leaning back and reading. Required me to almost go supine plus my OCD tendencies were kicking in and I wondered how clean the fabric was with everyone just lounging on these chairs so I didn't want to lay all the way back. Pretty much every Sunday at 1pm and 3pm, they have free live music here!! Music acts are listed in advance on the DIA website and lucky for me I happened to stop by when this was happening. Definitely something worth checking out!

Yelp
Please for the love of all that is good. Do NOT order the coconut pad Thai. It is awful. It doesn't taste like anything resembling pad Thai. It's cold . The right type of noodles weren't used. There was too much sauce. And it is way overpriced. The avocado toast was decent but nothing great. Drinks are worth it. But to recap. Do not order the coconut pad Thai. You will regret it. This review is a little overdue so hopefully it's not even on the Menu anymore
google avatar

Dina B.

Yelp
Oh we are so doing this. Historic court scenic yeah yeah yeah. Let's get to it. If you order anything that's trying to be more than a muffin, a sandwich, or a pizza, you're making a huge mistake. I know the menu is TELLING YOU it can do some impressive things like a quinoa rice bowl and a Michigan Cherry salad and a Pad Thai coconut whatever. It's lying to you. My theories: 1. At one time they had a chef who could do these things, they left and took their recipes. 2. They never had a chef, someone designed a menu, made up the recipes, cobbled them from their imagination, and off they went! Pad Thai thing: if you have had pad Thai then you have an idea of what you should get. Some form of a flat noodle with a sweet peanut sauce. What emerged was a clump of clear rice noodle surrounded by spicy mayo. Also peppered inside were some carrot shavings, pieces of cilantro and a few peanut crumbles. Do you like clumps of dry rice noodle in your mouth with spicy mayo drizzled on it? No one does and that's why it's not a thing. Spicy Mayo is for sushi. Moving on. Quinoa bowl: if you are going to put beans and quinoa and roasted corn and "toasted rice" and salsa and "purple potatoes" and avocado in a bowl, then have the kindness to dress them with something. Also the potato's were not purple. Every few bites I caught a glimpse of what may have been some olive oil and salt. Then a moment of heat from salsa. But mostly bites of nothing and more nothing and then grainy nothing. How about lemon juice and olive oil and salt and pepper whisked in a bowl then poured over?? Hmm. So original. The Michigan Cherry salad: No innovation required here: But they had to try. (Or not bother doing their homework?) And what ended up was a bowl of liquid acid. Take: 3 parts bitter greens, 5 parts balsamic, 2 parts FULL WET CHERRIES full of juicy sour liquid, 1 part Gorgonzola, and voila! A bowl full of inedible, sour, wet, no contrast acid salad. And that, folks, is why we use dried cherries. Salads are wet, the balsamic is sour, and they are sweeter and provide textural and taste contrast. No nuts in there either. And there we have it. No 4-5 stars here people. I don't get it.

Yelp
Would I go back again? Yes... If it's just for drinks :/ The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful as if you're in the middle of the streets of a small European town with dim lights and brick wall decor. It helps you feel like you've escaped into a well deserved fulfiing craving if wanderlust. There were a lot of students studying and reading there which would be what I would go first. There are some alcoholic beverages that you can get on a date night here too! HOWEVER! I was very much disappointed in the food. It was not Europe at all. I guess the avacado toast was ok. Although if they messed that up too I would have been very concerned. The pad Thai was horrible. No wait correction: it is NOT pad Thai!!! It's... A kale salad with some rice noodles that doesn't taste anything remotely close to pad Thai let alone anything Asian, not issit very good... Stay away from this... That's my two cents

Yelp
We enjoyed lunch here after our tour of the museum. The architecture is beautiful. There's lots of sunlight and seating. You place your order at the counter in the back, and your food is brought to your table. We had sandwiches and a platter of chips topped with cheese, sour cream, and a few other things I can't remember. I can't remember the name of the sandwich but it was turkey with strawberry preserves (I think). The more I ate it, the more I disliked the flavors together. I had a delicious bottle Boylan Shirley Temple though. Definitely leave time to enjoy Kresge Court doing your museum visit.
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
Such a beautiful space and full of natural light! If I worked remotely I would spend several days a week here, first sipping coffee, then Voss water, then have a great sandwich for lunch (fyi the sandwiches were big enough that my daughter and I split one and it was plenty). I dare to say that the Kresge Court is the closest thing to heaven in the Detroit area.
google avatar

Maria C.

Yelp
This was such a pleasant environment to enjoy a quick bite to eat. My daughter had a very tasty turkey sandwich and I had the roasted cauliflower salad. I liked the chips that came with my daughter's sandwich so much that I ordered an extra order. This ended up being way too much food. The salad would have been quite enough. I highly recommend visiting this cafe. It was very affordable too.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
This is a great space to come relax, read, study, or just sip some wine and people watch in a phenomenal institution. Take in all that the DIA has to offer and take a break in the court.
google avatar

D. M.

Yelp
A wonderful oasis within the DIA. Admission is free, and there is generally a performer or group of performers here, playing music at a volume that isn't obtrusive. If you want to have a conversation with someone, you can do that. If you want to just hang out for a bit before getting back to the museum exhibits, you can do that. If you want to listen to the music, you can do that. If you want to work on your laptop, not a problem. If you want to relax with a drink, again, they have it covered. Any or all of these things together can happen without any compromise in each activity - it's a great space for just being. Drinks aren't cheap (what is these days?), and seating is tight at times, but a great little spot to pass the time. Having just moved to Detroit, it's perplexing to me how few locals visit the DIA on a consistent basis. It's a great museum, and so inexpensive from an overall perspective.
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
Several nice gluten free options on the small menu, along with the intimate setting, made this the perfect place for a lunch break during our recent trip to the museum. I loved both items I tried. The popcorn, popped in duck fat and served with generous sprinkles of cracked pepper, was great. The watermelon-feta salad was perfect, served over arugula and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. I would highly recommend this spot to gluten-free visitors.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service in an amazing setting. The menu is simple consisting of mainly salads & sandwiches. The service is prompt & the staff are friendly. My sandwich was delicious enough & marble cheesecake a fantastic treat. Glad I fuelled up for the gallery, which was bigger than I expected! The atmosphere was nice & quiet. Secluded from the bustling crowd. Feels like I was dining in a castle.. with an ipad for cnn news

Yelp
This rating is for the whole DIA experience----which is terrific. We spent the morning viewing the "Detroit by Night" photo exhibit which is very nostalgic for any native Detroiter, then we reviewed the "Dia de Muertos" Ofendas exhibit--- very interesting! Then wondered around the Renaissance art and ended up (don't miss the spiral stair case) in the Diago Rivera hall ---beautiful. Finally we had a very relaxing lunch in the DIA Café. The acorn squash soup and the chicken salad sandwich were great (they served a pear with the sandwich which was exceptional, crispy yet very sweet). The food is very good here and the place is quite busy. We then ended in the Kresge Court and relaxed for a while---a perfect setting All in all, this makes a perfect day outing and we will do it again soon.

Yelp
All time fav place to study and eat in Detroit! It's usually pretty quiet with amazing natural light. The staff is always pleasant and the food & drinks are always good! Only had Jasmine tea today but I highly recommend the Sander's Bumpy Cake!

Yelp
From the moment you step foot in Kresge Court, you know you're somewhere special. The high ceiling with natural light pouring in, the exposed brick walls, the vines climbing trellises, the ornamental + functional outdoor furniture - it all adds up to pure "afternoon in the garden" ambiance. The decor is what drew me in, but the food and service would bring me back in a heartbeat. Our order was taken by a really kind and helpful gentleman at the counter, and it all came out quite quickly. While not waiting on us (since this is a cafe style where you order at the counter), the servers were attentive and friendly. Every person who came to our table had a smile and kind word. And the food was pretty magnificent. The cheese platter was top notch - 4 cheeses, 2 kinds of toast, jams, fruits, local honey, candied pecans. I had a curried chicken salad sandwich, which, with the cheese platter, I certainly didn't need, but enjoyed. The loaded homemade chips were fantastic and decadent. And the pretzel sticks were soft, fluffy and came with a delicious beer cheese dip. Loved also that they had fancy local sodas and craft beers by the bottle and a full coffee/espresso bar behind the counter. This is a must visit for lunch when at the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the museum itself is a must see when in Detroit.

Yelp
I'm in love, I'm in love with this beautiful spot! Art museums should be places where you can hang out, maybe meet up for a book club or just get out of the house. The DIA has done a wonderful job of encouraging visitors to do just that. The glass roof allows for a ton of natural light, even on a cloudy day. Plenty of nooks and crannies to tuck away in or tables to spread out some work. Free wifi and little coffee shop make for happy art lovers. After walking the exhibitions it's wonderful to decompress in this space. The day I went it was packed, I had a hard time finding a free chair. Once I did I settled down to read a book... The great thing was that as many people as were in the room, it wasn't loud. I was able to focus on my book with no problem. I'm thinking it could be a nice change of scenery from the library work station. I recommend all my fellow yelpers to come here and at the very least have a cup of tea and enjoy for a few minutes.

Yelp
Amazing food, even if it is a little expensive, with friendly staff and ample place to sit and relax or study. I love going on Sundays and listening to live piano music while I study! They also serve alcohol if you're in the mood. Favorite menu items currently - Pepita quinoa salad ($10) and chicken salad sandwich ($12)

Cecile B.

Yelp
We had excellent and large bowls of tomato basil soup. Obviously freshly made with chunk tomato and fresh herbs. We share a bowl of loaded homemade potato chips - a real treat. We took Option 1 - Gruyere, tomato and bacon. Crisp slices of potato liberally dressed and topped with sour cream. A memorable lunch. Atmosphere was delightful with cozy couches, high tables and s handful of high-backed white iron chairs pulled around round tables. Just the right lunch for a day at the museum.

Yelp
Great place to grab a bite to eat while you explore the museum. Decor is amazing and so cozy! Love that it's in the museum, so convenient. The food is delish! Great assortment of foods and drinks- even have beer and wine! Highly recommend!

Yelp
The atmosphere at Kresge Court is wonderful - chic but comfortable and the food menu is representative of the vibe. I came with a large group of friends and luckily, the court was relatively empty. The menu is limited and quite expensive but if you are looking for a quick, tasty bite in the middle of your museum experience, this is it! I ordered the bleu cheese and pear flatbread while my friends chose pasta dishes and the turkey Gouda sandwich. No one really had complaints besides one of the pasta dishes being sprinkled with too much black peppercorn. I thoroughly enjoyed my flatbread - crispy, savory with a hint of sweetness from the pears. One of my friends could not stop raving about the turkey sandwich. Overall, great ambience and a cool place to meet friends for a bite!

Yelp
Such a gem!!! Love their layout and comfy chairs, ample lighting, and free wifi! The turkey focaccia sandwich is SO delicious and comes with pickles and a side. My only cons are: -it's pricy (which is slightly alleviated by their 10% student discount) -you can't bring backpacks into DIA, so you have to check a bag in and carry all your notebooks separately -their drinks are limited. No iced tea options Other than that, a great place to study or catch up, relax after DIA, and grab a bite to eat.

Yelp
The newly renovated Kresge Court at the Detroit Institute of Arts opens this weekend for their grand opening. It's been recently renovated to elevate its food for small bites and evening starters in a very comfortable and beautiful atmosphere. After speaking to one of the employees, it was also designed to host your planned or impromptu meeting over coffee and an easy place to plug in and work remotely. We were treated to a tasting for several items on their newly designed menus. They offer two menus, one during the day and the other on Friday evenings. We had items on both menus and after looking at the rest of them, there are several others that I'm looking forward to trying. From the Friday night menu, we sampled the Artichokes and Flat Bread, Toasted Farro Salad, and Smashed Beets. The artichoke dish is served with a black olive aioli and a very thin flat brad, almost a cracker, with delicate spices. The artichokes were extremely soft and light in flavor. They are not over powering in oil or vinegar, just a nice mild flavor that matches the very subtle flavor of the black olive aioli. The aioli is made with regular black olives, not kalamata, so it's not very salty or strong. The farro salad is a healthy, vegetarian, and hearty option. It's slightly on the al dente side, having a firm texture than a soft texture as rice. My last item on the tasty triptch menu was the beets in a dill yogurt sauce. The beets were prepared well with them being soft and flavorful. They are still firm and not mushy. It's beautifully presented and the dill sauce compliments the beets well. There is a nice balance of acidity and dairy to have a smooth flavor. On the afternoon menu, we tried the Wich Came First. It has pulled chicken, hard boiled egg, kale, tomato, and tarragon mayonnaise. The chicken was very soft and tender and cooked nicely. The hard boiled egg gives the sandwich a level of creaminess. The tarragon mayo was an excellent choice with the chicken and eggs. They use a local bread company, which was nice and fresh as well. The review would have a sense of loss if I don't mention the setting. The Kresge Court is in this beautiful courtyard with relaxing and brand new furniture. It's better than any coffee shop you will sit in. It's designed for a light bite, but also for relaxing and reading a book, working remotely, or having a business meeting. Some off their table tops are designed with removable paper so you can take notes and then take it with you. They also have iPads available to the public on some of the high top tables. Good luck in finding any place that has a beautiful glass roof, stained glass windows around you, stunning architecture, easy listening music, and a comfortable atmosphere.

Yelp
Kresge, not to be confused with the cafeteria visible from the door (called CafeDIA - don't go there), is a surprising find in the basement of the DIA. They have several delicious lunch options, although not that many of them - the menu is a little limited - but they really sold me with both the flavor and the extensive collection of Boylan sodas. I had a chicken salad sandwich that was surprisingly great. It also came with chips in a cup, at the bottom of which was a surprise remoulade. I regretted not discovering this earlier into eating the chips, since the remoulade was amazing and I would've liked it on each and every chip. You have been warned.

Yelp
Before attending the members preview of Dance! Exhibit, we decided to grab a coffee at Kresge Court .. We were so pleased with the lovely setting within the museum as well as the diverse menu, we ordered the Trifecta sandwich and a cappacino to share instead of the cafeteria on the premises. Delicious food, elegantly served on real China, silver flatware and cloth napkins !! Bravo!

Yelp
Best sandwich of my life. I got the turkey sandwich and couldn't have possibly been happier. I was sad when I took the last bite. Atmosphere is so cool. Place is quiet which was a cool change of pace. I think I spent over 2 hours there just sitting and talking and enjoying the beautiful environment. Drinks were good but VERY expensive... Wish they had a mid to high shelf grade liquor option so it was slightly more affordable, but the drinks we had were great and strong so the money didn't feel wasted at all. I will be back again. Definitely my new favorite lunch spot to bring visitors to Detroit, especially family who may not like the divier restaurant side of the city.
