Great place with a very comfortable sitting and an easy vibe offering various types of foods. Fits perfect for families and groups of friends. They also serve great cocktails - highly recommended is the hard cold brew!

Located in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo. This is a great coffee shop/breakfast restaurant. Spacious indoor and outdoor seating. 1980s music and decor, which attracts both young and "more experienced!" Great selection of drip coffee and espresso drinks. I recommend their drip coffee, bold rich taste, and their vanilla latte! The California omelette is worth sharing: 3 eggs, onions, tomatoes, cheese, and choice of bacon or tri-tip. Crunchy tater tots and choice of wheat, sour dough or bagels.

This is our 2nd time here and we’re glad we came back. The coffee was really good, the omelette was great. The service needs help and it wouldn’t hurt for the server to smile once in a while. But regardless of the service, I recommend this place. Come here and you can thank me later.

Google
Driving through looking for breakfast place, found Kreuzberg. Great ambiance, friendly staff, good service. The fresh brewed coffee and the Chai Tea Latte were wonderful. The croissants are perfect, and the breakfast burrito was tasty. Parking in the area is difficult.

Allison Jaynes

Google
Great vegan breakfast burrito! The line can be long but it's a small staff. The ambiance is excellent for working, chatting, staring out the window, reading. I particularly like the upstairs level which is cozier and more intimate than the ground level seating.

Google
I went here for brunch with my family and had a great time. I got the pancakes with a side of bacon and eggs and it was delicious and very reasonably priced. The coffee on the other hand was only okay, it was a bit burnt. The restaurant itself was very nicely decorated and pretty busy with students studying but we were easily able to find seats.

Google
Great brunch spot. Often very busy on weekends.

Yelp
Love this place! Not only is it a cafe, but a bar as well and has fun weekly events like trivia and karaoke nights! I love that it opens later than most (they close at 9!) and have fun fishbowl seating (highly coveted and hard to get unless you're here during their slow times). I tried their California burrito which had such a fun filling and the chips were surprisingly really tasty and seasoned! This is another place that I want to try everything on their menu and will be back for sure! Chai latte (3/5) First time hot with oat milk was really good but now when I try it I don't love it as much. It is sweet but in a way that it tastes more syrup based than chai-y and I don't love when there's like a slight sharp spiciness to it. Overall not bad though!

Yelp
Cute cafe with cool decor. Seems popular with locals and has a beautiful, massive space. Staff were polite and helpful. However, I found my coffee kind of bland. I was left with a sour taste when I saw some tshirts for sale with the phrase "Poor But Sexy." I found it in very poor taste, especially for a cafe that is very obviously not catering to the working class. I mean- $16 for a breakfast burrito. Other than poor taste in that regard, I had no other issues.

Yelp
Loved the ambience. Got their decaf americano which was okay. Quick service and friendly staff. Pretty much the only cafe that is open pretty late. Restrooms available. Paid street parking right outside (can be tricky to find on busy evenings)

Yelp
Love the vibe of this location. Artsy and airy. Friendly counter service. I enjoyed my cappuccino and the California omelet minus tomatoes. Tater tots were slightly overseasoned in my opinion, but perfectly crunchy. The omelet had the right amount of bacon, cheese, caramelized onion and avocado. Breakfast included toast, but it never came nor did a waitress (darn counter service). After a while, I had to go to the counter to request it.

Yelp
kreuzberg is the best cafe in slo to do some work or have a cute brunch! it is centrally located in downtown and is extremely spacious with lots of outlets scattered around the cafe that it makes perfect study or working spot. all the employees are incredible kind and helpful and it's just a wonderfully welcoming environment to be in. I got the brown butter maple latte which was beautiful and yummy and a heaping pile of tater tots that kept me fueled throughout my working day. kreuzberg will always be my go-to cafe in slo for its amazing vibes and quality food and drinks!

Yelp
The food was fresh and the ambience was great. But the slice of chocolate changed my life!! It's a MUST

Yelp
Kreuzberg by far has the best breakfast burritos, I come here just for it. It has the perfect ratio of all the fillings of potatoes, cheese, salsa, bacon, and sour cream. I don't usually order coffee, but the Vanilla Latte surprised me and was yummy. I don't recommend their matcha, it's not my favorite. I don't love that their tip is automatically set at 25%. It's a place where you order at the counter and pick up your drink from the counter. That is a little upsetting to me that a tip kind of feels mandatory. There is plenty of seating and a good spot to study if you can find a table on the weekends. ig: @cravingswithcat

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to study/do work when I'm in SLO! They have great coffee and good options for some food but the amount of seating, WiFi, and outlets all over is pretty unbeatable. Tons of tables and places to sit. They have two nooks in the front that are kinda cool with big windows looking out to Higuera St. Overall a great atmosphere for getting work done so would 100% recommend!

Yelp
What a cute space! I really enjoyed my pit stop at Kreuzberg on my way up north. There was a line out the door when we came at 10 but things moved pretty quickly. We ordered a brown butter maple latte, breakfast burrito with soyrizo and San Luis obispbowl (acai bowl) at the counter. They gave us a number and asked us to pick our drink up from the bar when it was ready. There are so many cool nooks in this establishment! So many college students around taking advantage of this space. This place makes me want to study again lol the latte was good, but we couldn't taste the flavor that much. The breakfast burrito was good and the soyrizo added some extra flavor to it. But the star of the show was the acai bowl. Omg it was sooo good! I have my go to acai bowl place but this one is a very close second! Just wish it was a little closer to me. Will definitely stop by if I'm in the area again!

Yelp
Spacious with lots of people on their laptops completing work at the tables. I love the different seating options and everyone looks like they frequently come here to complete some work. Order and pay at the front and they bring your order to you. We ordered the breakfast burrito and tater tots - really good. I wish the tots came with some dipping sauce I ordered the vanilla latte with oatmilk and it was alright. The nitro cold brew tasted watered down. The food is better than the coffee

Yelp
We stopped by this place for lunch on a whim and were delighted to find such a cozy, relaxing and cute interior. We had the Kreuzberg Smashburger, and the chicken pear sandwich. Both were delicious and filling. We're very happy with the recommendation for our food selections by the cashier.

Yelp
This was a momentous breakfast burrito. It looks small, but it was chock full of goodness. As I mentioned in a prior post, I love hashbrowns in burritos; it adds some great texture and makes it more filling. This burrito had that. It also had a ring of cheese around the edge of the burrito, which ensured evenly distributed amounts of cheesiness with each bite. I added avocado, and honestly, it wasn't the move; despite being an avid avocado enjoyer, I felt like it was too concentrated on one side, which overshadowed the rest of the burrito's flavors. I'll have to see if I can get some salsa next time, because spice was the one thing that this was kinda missing. The blueberry muffin was great, too. Had this fire sugared top which reminded me of a biscotti (kind of crumbly and sweet). I was already full from the burrito, so I can't say I ate a lot of the muffin. The vibes here are also solid. I spotted a lil plaque that mentioned Kreuzberg was rated one of the top study spots for students by Mustang News. Good to keep in mind next time I have to lock in.

Yelp
Chai latte with almond milk was delicious! One of the best chai lattes I've ever had. Perfectly spicy and sweet. Their coffee is also good, just very strong for me. Ambiance is cool - lots of historical things here if you do some research.

Yelp
Called to place a Togo order. Was told had to place through DoorDash; no phone orders allowed. I said DoorDash didn't let me take the aioli off of the BLTA. The person on the phone didn't understand and said too bad. Lost a customer today which is too bad cause the food is pretty good.

Yelp
3.5 stars for the breakfast burrito, rounded up to a 4 because the employees were super nice and the cafe was extremely spacious. The street-facing front section had a livelier vibe. It was noisier from people chatting, drinks being made, and coffee being roasted, ground, and packaged. There was a quieter, dimmer lounge to the side. We sat on booths at the front and noted outlets on the benches. We paid at the counter, took the number to our table, and bussed our own trays at the end. My bf and I shared one bacon breakfast burrito ($14 + $2 avocado add-on). The construction of the hefty item was sturdy, not messy to eat. Whoever made it is a good burrito roller. The tortilla was good: somewhat pliable and soft, warm and chewy, firm enough to provide structure. I liked how the filling was neatly organized. A ring of melted cheddar and juicy scrambled egg wrapped around the tater tots, bacon, sour cream, and avocado. The tots were crispy, but not too oily, and the portion of avocado was appropriate for the cost. The roughly chopped bacon was nice and crispy. However, my bf said he hardly got any bacon in his half until the end. My half had an even distribution of it. Unfortunately, I strongly disliked the red salsa inside of the burrito. It was really bad for me (bf disagreed). I thought it was too salty and slightly sweet. I didn't taste anything else. A better salsa would take this burrito over the top.

Yelp
Kreuzberg offers a large space to grab a bite to eat, sip on some drinks, and catch up on life. The ambiance has soulful music, eclectic and hipster decor, and the bar is the center of attention. For coffee lovers, this cafè feels like a crafted hot coffee moment (even in the summer), but they also offer live music and cocktails for a great happy hour. Food came out quickly for a Saturday morning (before our drinks), but the breakfast burrito was appreciated and filling compared to some of the other breakfast items. Pricing is okay, but they offer vegan & non dairy alternatives. Order and pay up front, with a few ADA friendly seating, and they ask that you bus your own dishes. FYI, the bathroom has a code, so you'll have to ask the staff.

Yelp
Breakfast burrito was absolutely fire, can't recommend it enough! The best in town. Service was great and the live music at brunch was awesome

Yelp
I popped in on a Friday morning around 9 AM and this large space had about 15 patrons. There are tons of indoor tables in multiple different rooms. There is a lounge, reading room and main room with huge portrait murals painted on the wall. The reading room features two large leather couches as well as a wall of picture art. It's cozy. - Not only did I like the decor, but I also enjoyed my beverage. I ordered an almond milk steamer with vanilla. It came out a perfect temperature and consistency. The vanilla flavor was robust and natural. The cups are subtly branded. I only ask that you consider tops that are compost friendly for the future. - Your staff welcomed me almost immediately upon my arrival. There was no line at the register and they were very patient while I looked over the menu which was positioned right at the counter. They were able to provide me with the bathroom code upon request. My only other suggestion is having a more frequent cleaning schedule for the bathroom. There was hair in the sink.

Yelp
Fresh and good b-fast. It's a scene. Would be a regular here if I lived nearby! Egg sandwich was great. My companion said he was "thrown off" by the ketchup he thought the kitchen added to the breakfast burrito. Each breakfast would have been big enough for two people.
google avatar

Sammy B.

Yelp
Kreuzberg was a great morning stop during my SLO trip! Had a yummy maple latte and breakfast sandwich. The art was super cool and the atmosphere just felt very edgy and industrial. It was "St. Fratty's Day" , as known to Cal Poly SLO students, so it was super wild downtown but definitely very entertaining haha. The service remained very positive though even with all the chaos!
google avatar

Nicole A.

Yelp
Looking for a place with coffee & good breakfast options this is the perfect spot! It's spacious, clean, & has delicious breakfast burritos & lattes.
google avatar

Till W.

Yelp
It's the most esthetically pleasing coffee shop in Downtown SLO! I was remotely working and only ordered a latte but I saw many people also ordered breakfast here. I'm inclined to try their food next time. Their latte was good! I also saw a few come in and take video clips and pictures of the place. It's a tourist spot! Be prepared to be part of other people's snaps as props when you're here.

Yelp
What can I say about this place? It has all the elements needed for a great coffee spot to study, relax, and hang out with friends. It was pretty crowded when I arrived but I was still able to get a table to myself as this place is huge! I did t realize how big it was, on the outside it looks smaller. I ordered the tri tip breakfast burrito which was it was big but I ate every last bit I really wanted to try the Irish Coffee but unfortunately some of the drinks were unavailable due to the bar not being fully open at that time. I settled for a matcha latte and later on I had the drip coffee. Everything was delicious and I really enjoyed the music playlist while I studied. It was nothing but good vibes! Did I mention they have this really cute area to sit that is like an alcove near the front entrance?! Soft lighting, tufted seating, green plants and old paintings gives an old English library look while having a floor to ceiling view of the street. Really cool!
google avatar

Helen K.

Yelp
Looking for a breakfast place with good coffee give them a try. Spacious restaurant with lots of places to sit with a lap top including a few little enclosed sitting spaces, lots of outdoor seating. I was served by a very friendly service person. You order and pay inside at the counter. I got a vegetarian breakfast sandwich in sour dough toast with avocado. My sandwich was huge with 3 eggs, arugula, cheese. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I sat outside and enjoyed my food plus the people watching. Clean bathrooms, good food, friendly staff. Seems like a much better choice then so many of the other touristy restaurants in SLO
google avatar

Sammie A.

Yelp
Dog friendly patio, good vibes, chill place to study, friendly baristas, and a good roast! I have tried the iced latte, iced chamomile lavender tea, and the morning bun (think of what would happen if a cinnabon, churro, and croissant had a baby) and would recommend them all! 9.5/10, definitely pricey, but if you need a quick afternoon fix and a good place to hang, this is a good spot!
google avatar

Connie W.

Yelp
Large footprint store with high ceiling.  Lots of sitting available, feels spacious. Gibraltar was sour (or fruity) Breakfast sandwich was on the bland side, maybe needing some mayo / spread. Tip default was set to 25%, even though we do self serve and self busing.

Melissa C.

Yelp
Great ambiance and fantastic architecture. Beautiful building!! Always love to go here for a great cup of coffee and a good place to recharge or meet up with friends.
google avatar

Anmol L.

Yelp
This place is a tricky one! During the summer it is my FAV place to study outside of my home... but during the school year it's just too crowded for me. I really like how large the space is and the diverse decor in the different sections! I like how it's not used for just one thing as well. They serve great coffee and matcha... but they also are a great place to come by after work and grab a alcoholic drink! They occasionally have trivia in the evening as well. The tables and big and sturdy. I love the little glass nooks they have too! I've always wanted to study there and finally this summer I have!
google avatar

Camille L.

Yelp
Sorry breakfast burrito was stuffed 70% with tater tots (mostly a filler, lacking in flavor), hardly any egg or avocado. It's was ok and a lot of it got tossed. Very hard to find a table for a party of more than 2 people.

Dee H.

Yelp
Best breakfast burrito. Bit pricey but the quality was worth it. The red sauce and tots made the burrito so yummy with a super soft tortilla. California omelette with good with tots and bagel. The coffee and vanilla cappuccino was yummy. Dog friendly inside and outside. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Keith W.

Yelp
Ambiance is trendy and got us in the door. After that it went down hill. Its Self service after you order. Utensil station was half empty and took a while to refill. All of our breakfast items arrived cold. The waffles were soggy and not fully cooked. The red unions in my breakfast sando are raw which I don't like. The tater tots were ok but cold. The vibes from most of the employees were not welcoming. Codes to use the bathroom are only given out by certain employees and got giggles from the employees when we asked for it. We asked what's so funny? After asking for utensils I got a comment move out of the way so I can get it. Terrible overall experience...

Yelp
I came here with a German guy we picked him up on the side of the road but not in a weird way just in a friendly way. Speaking of friendly, I was in a really friendly mood here. I think it was the tea. I liked the taste of it especially because I was with my new German friend. My new German friend feels like a long lost cousin because we were playing a card game and he was trying to teach us but it was soooooooo confusing. Never learn a German card game unless you are here then it is ok because this place is friendly.

Richelle K.

Yelp
I don't understand why on Sunday you say that you are open until 9p. There are still people in the coffee house. They are not told to leave.
google avatar

Jenna V.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, my party ordered the Mexican Mocha and the Tux Mocha and both were enjoyable. I found their hash browns excellent, as well as their morning bun. Ambiance was good, filled with a lot of college students working on their laptops. The individual who took our order was very friendly and made the ordering process painless. They were out of a few menu items, but nothing unsurmountable.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
Kreuzberg has my favorite breakfast burrito in SLO, the tater tots inside are perfectly crisp and the entire burrito itself has so much flavor. I wish it came with avocado. The ambience in Kreuzberg is great as well, there's a lot of comfy seating and plants that make for a great study spot.
google avatar

Cami C.

Yelp
Kreuzberg! I was a long time regular at Kreuzberg when I was living in the area. I really enjoyed their Matcha, chai, and vanilla lattes. The ambience here is very hipster, and helps you feel like you're able to enjoy the little things in life when you step in the door. I don't know quite how they do it but that was how I always felt. I used to love to study/work here during the mornings and meet up with friends here in the afternoons and evenings. They have local events too so they definitely offer a lit bit of something for everyone. In terms of food, I love their vegan tacos or breakfast burritos with a side of the tater tots. From my experience, the food has always been great, and the service (from ordering, to eat-in service) has also always been kind and welcoming. In terms of price, it's a little high, but that's how it tends to be in independent cafés. I visited recently when I was back in the area and felt the nostalgia again. I personally had a great experience and would recommend anyone visiting the area or going to school locally.
google avatar

Rebecca E.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to get computer work done. Dark literary aesthetic. Cozy coffee shop by day and moody bar by night. There is a variety of seating. Plush sofa chairs, benches, solo tables, bar stools and a couple nooks. There's also a secluded loft area if you need a quieter place to work. I ordered a dairy-free cappuccino and it was frothy and delicious. Highly recommend this place. Just know you will have to find street parking, and may have to walk a little bit. Which is expected if you're hanging out in Downtown SLO.
google avatar

Mramuto A.

Yelp
Looking for a quick breakfast/coffee place and stumbled into this place located in downtown SLO. The café offers plenty of place to sit inside, cute outdoor sitring area and offers free wi-fi. Service was friendly and quickly receivd my order. Excellent Latte with cute foam art. Breakfast was good at reasonable price.

Marissa A.

Yelp
Breakfast burrito was really heavy and did not make me feel well, even after only eating half. The matcha was really chalky and tasted very low quality. The latte was probably the best thibg we got but it was nothing special. Tip was AUTO set to 25%. Im a waitress and I find that ridiculous, especially when you pick up your own food, sauces, boxes etc and are expected to bus your own table. Also was over 50$ for two people
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Great drinks and service however they keep putting my drinks in paper and plastic when I ask for here so I'm heading over to scout and nautical coffee instead. Super annoying!
google avatar

Bety P.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance and the service. Guy gave me the wrong bagel sandwich but lucky my friend notified me in time. Loved the bagel tasted freshly made, highly recommend
google avatar

Alexis R.

Yelp
Poor service. All the employees there talked to me as if I was bothering them. I walked in asking where to go to get my pickup order and 2 employees smirked at the question. I was very confused. lol They told me that it would be placed on a particular counter when it was ready. My coffee was there, but my ham & cheese croissant wasn't, so I continued to wait. After about 5 minutes, I asked the girl at the front if it was ready. She said "oh let me get it for you". She had to get it from behind the pastry bar and proceeded to to just hand it to me cold. A ham and cheese croissant.. she did not even bother to ask me if I wanted it warmed up. I would've also been waiting, wasting my time if I hadn't inquired about my order again. Weird vibes. Pretentious employees. Coffee wasn't even good either.
google avatar

Yelp
Great drinks. Amazing space. Awesome customer service. Drink: I tried their Brown Butter Maple latte and it was perfect. I was afraid it would taste too buttery but the barista assured me it was more maple than anything. It was perfect alternative to a vanilla latte. Customer service: Everyone was very friendly and tentative. There was some miscommunication about whether our drinks were to go or for there but they quickly helped us to be on our way. The shop: This seems to be THE SPOT for a lot of Cal Poly students so be aware that it will be busy, noisy and full. We were still able to find some seats out front by the fire pit (yes, an actual gorgeous fire pit) and could enjoy the breeze with our drinks. A must when visiting SLO!
google avatar

Shirley L.

Yelp
Amazing quality coffee and the options are honestly some of the best I saw! I had the lavender chamomile latte iced with oat milk and it was heaven every sip was great! Super hip place I was amazed by the decor and the details I was visiting a friend but I can wait to go out there and hang with her again! And come visit this place! Staff was great the guy that took my order was super great! Such a vibe! I recommend this place 100/10!

Emmerson S.

Yelp
The breakfast burritos are a must here! And the coffee is reasonably priced as well. This is also a great place to come study!

Katie L.

Yelp
LOVED!!! The breakfast burrito was so good I had to go back the next day to order the same thing. Greta vibes and such a cute place to eat or study. The workers were very nice as well. Overall, great experience and I will be back.

Yelp
Stopped here for a late afternoon pick me up. We got cortados. The coffee was so good and on the fruitier side. Chucking out one star just because the tables in the cafe were kinda dirty, not too bad but def had to brush off the crumbs.
