Google
Disappointing. First of all there was nothing crispy about this Krispy Box. All of the tempura and crispy rice inside was soggy and gone to mush. Is it maybe dangerous to expect crispy tempura through delivery... But that is literally the delivery restaurant's name. Not only was the crispy tuna not, the tuna was really dried out. The spicy tuna and salmon were both mushy and full of dressing. And in the California roll the avocado was brown. One single sachet soy sauce and no container to pour it into.

Amidst the whispered secrets of Hollywood's culinary underworld lies a clandestine haunt within Katsuya—a ghost kitchen shrouded in mystery. Here, the once bespoke Krispy Rice Sushi Box emerges, devoid of its former glory, stripped of custom packaging. Yet, despite its cold demeanor, each bite retains a crispy defiance, a testament to resilience amidst anonymity.

Google
I ordered this on Postmates, and it came in plastic restaurant go containers ,not an actual issue, but vs the presentation on app and previous times I’ve ordered this was wild. However I have actual fish allergies and they don’t allow for allergy subs on the app, no problem, I ordered shrimp, tuna, crab and himachi. Zero shrimp came, 4/6 pieces of what looks like a Philly roll arrived containing Salmon, that I AM allergic to and now I’m not comfortable eating anything that arrived, because of a complete lack of attention to the order. This is wildly disappointing for a $75 order.

Google
This is a ghost kitchen which means it's only available on delivery apps. We've ordered Krispy Rice a handful of times over the past few years and it's gotten objectively worse. I'm not snooty about sushi, but our order this evening was the worst sushi I've ever had. The rice had a gray tint, the "crispy" tuna was soggy, and the cucumber tasted like it was on its last leg. I wouldn't have purchased this quality of sushi again even if it was half the price. It tasted like it was days old. Even the edamame was bad -- they didn't salt the exterior! And as a cherry on top, we had a large order (7 rolls) and received 1 pair of chopsticks, one packet of soy sauce, and a tiny portion of wasabi. Krispy Rice, do better!

Google
I was visiting my daughter and son-in-law this weekend and he ordered Krispy Rice for dinner. It took over an hour to be delivered (which we were upset about but were willing to wait) BUT we did not get everything that was ordered. We ordered 3 bento boxes and everything came in ala cart boxes and not one dipping sauce was included AND the tempura that was ordered was missing. We called to complain and went round and round with the customer service rep who claimed to understand what we were upset about - but of course he didn't. He claimed to call the restaurant and advised he could not reach anyone - he then advised us that we needed to call the restaurant?! He gave us a phone number to call and it is for another restaurant and you can only leave a message?! To top it off there is no way to contact anyone on the website - no where can you find a "contact us" link. It is very upsetting to spend money to order something and there is no way to contact ANYONE to make this right. The restaurant got his money but we did not get what we paid for!

Google
I got the spicy tuna Krispy rice & the truffle avocado Krispy rice. It was soo good, idk what’s up with the negative reviews but I’m thinking about this food months later! Would deffs go back if I lived in LA. Only downside is it’s a little pricey I thought

emiliana G.

Google
Really bad. The sushi rice was soggy, terrible. Crispy rice is fine, but not worth the price.

Taylor M.

Google
STAY FAR AWAY!! Awful awful awful! Oklahoma has better sushi. Just terrible.

Joshua P.

Yelp
This is a ghost kitchen that works under Katsuya, so you can only order delivery on food apps. The tempura is soft and the crispiness of the rice is inconsistent. The fish doesn't taste fresh at all. Krispy Rice is to Japanese food what Del Taco is to Mexican food.

Yelp
Ordered from Krispy Rice through Uber Eats before checking Yelp, and got some of the worst sushi I've ever eaten. It was so bad that I had to throw it out and order from somewhere else. For basic Philly and spicy tuna rolls, they're charging $11 for what you see in the photos. I can understand how not everything will be perfect when you order delivery but it's past the point of accident to just awful taste and questionable ingredients. Even the ginger looked wilted. Don't waste your time and order from somewhere else. It's no coincidence that every location is either closed or has a two star rating.
google avatar

Michiko M.

Yelp
It's okay! Based off of Uber eats order. It tastes fine but I've had better sushi for a cheaper price.

Yelp
Long story long, everyone is right. I've gotten Krispy Rice three times. Once I picked up from Umami in DTLA and another two times I got delivery from this location through Door Dash. The first two times I got "The Box" and the second, "The Forever" - both times I had a similar experience. Very well packaged and styled - average sushi quality - high prices. Prices are similar, but sushi does not compare to Sugarfish quality. My favorite part of the box was the spicy tuna hand roll. The crispy rice items were my least favorite along with the California roll. The rice was too chewy and a little greasy tasting. Nowhere near the best crispy rice I've had but close to the most pricey. Overall, it's a decent box in concept - but it was $40 and tasted like $20 quality and execution. I'll stick with Sugarfish next time! Also, they don't always come with chopsticks which is inconvenient and not pandemic friendly if you are eating on the go. And $40 sushi box came with about a tablespoon of ginger. Way too small a portion for so much fish. And the edamame was APPALLING (see picture!!!). I learned my lesson- will NOT be ordering again! The first box came with lots of safety seal stickers so I expected that again but the one I got today was just the box in the bag (making it susceptible to tampering). In COVID times, I expect more especially with their prices. Thankfully, I had a door dash promo code which made it not as expensive as it would have otherwise been (over $50 incl delivery fees for mediocre sushi!!) Consider yourself warned!
google avatar

Yelp
This aesthetic sushi box contains mediocre sushi at best. I wish I saved my money for something better because it was THAT disappointing. The only thing Krispy Rice has going on is the cute millennial pink packaging. Trust me, it looks more appetizing than it actually is. I kick myself in the foot for not just getting the "Trust Me" from Sugarfish or takeout from Kazunori. For the price Krispy Rice charges, this is just a scam. I pre-ordered a day ahead for lunch from Grubhub as a treat myself in the name of food. Thankfully my order was fulfilled and arrived safely. Everything was fine until I tried the sushi. The "krispy rice" wasn't crispy at all. Rolls were mushy. The handful of edamame pieces they graciously included weren't even seasoned. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the sashimi but it didn't stand out to me. Please, just support your other local sushi shops.

Yelp
I admit it -- I found Krispy Rice off an Instagram ad. It's basically Katsuya's version of Sugarfish's bento boxes, except a little artsier. I ordered takeout through Grubhub. About $32 (with tax) for a Trust Us combination box. The combo consists of Edamame, Ahi Tuna Sashimi (3 pc), The Original Spicy Tuna Krispy Rice (2 pc), The Original Baked Crab Hand Roll (2 pc), King Salmon Nigiri (2 pc), Krispy Shrimp Hand Roll (2 pc), California Cut Roll (4 pc) and Spicy Yellowtail Cut Roll (4 pc). Trust Us is the medium-sized portion. There's a $25, $30 and $40 option. The $40 option is a heck of a lot of food, from what I've seen. All in all, I really liked it. I didn't share my box, but it's shareable between two people. It didn't look quite as picture-perfect as it did on Instagram, but that's to be expected. The pieces are a tad small, but they use a bit more rice than necessary. Unfortunately, they don't deliver to my area, so I opted to drive all the way to Hollywood to pick it up. Man, oh, man. That part of Hollywood is still quite crowded. Parking wasn't bad -- there are some loading only spots out front. Krispy Rice just launched today (April 3), and the kitchen was pretty dang busy between making both the Katsuya and Krispy Rice orders. My food took a while to be prepared because my order wasn't in the system(?). People using the other apps -- Doordash, Postmates and Caviar -- didn't seem to have any issues. Maybe I shouldn't have ordered through Grubhub. The food was worth the wait, though!

Yelp
Please note, my recent reviews have been delivery since dine in is obviously not an option at the moment. My friend who has had sushi here a few times has raved about them. It's been a couple of months since I last had sushi so we decided to treat ourselves after a stressful week at work. We both got the Krispy Heaven. I mainly picked this option because I wasn't really in the mood to have edamame which comes with the other box. The box comes with the following: The Original Spicy Tuna Krispy Rice (2 pc) King Salmon & Yuzu Krispy Rice (2 pc) Spicy Hamachi & Wasabi Krispy Rice (2 pc) Truffle Avocado Krispy Rice (2 pc) The Original Spicy Tuna Handroll (2pc) The Original Baked Crab Handroll (2 pc) King Salmon Nigiri (2 pc) Krispy Fried Shrimp (2 pc) Let me tell you, I ate everything. The krispy rice was the highlight for me. Definitely made the sushi option stand out. My favorite out of all of them was the spicy hamachi. The truffle avocado was the runner up. My only complaint which isn't related to the taste is that some of the pieces were stuck to the bottom of the box. Well, the rice was. This resulted in me not using the chopsticks and instead opting to use my hand to eat everything.

Yelp
For locals: Disappointing. Small portions, cold, greasy. Not worth the hype at all. For tourists: Yeah! Go for it! Order for the "experience" and your photo ops.
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
This place used to be good but lately when I order I always need to get a refund because of missing items. Way too expensive to be missing all of the things I ordered. Also, the crispy rolls also have been coming completely uncooked, which is kind of insane because I thought that was the draw of this place at all? Save your money, go somewhere else for better quality. Someone in another review said it's great for tourists, it's not even worth it for them anymore. Steer clear.

Yelp
This is what my food liked when I picked It up. I am appalled and disgusted. What a fucken disappointment.

Yelp
I was reluctant to order Krispy Rice since the reviews were displeasing however I decided to give it a go on my own. I ordered the plenty of fish in the sea box, which had 2 cut rolls, 4 hand rolls, 4 Krispy rice, and 3 nigiri with edamame. First thing I noticed- stylish packaging, no covid tamper free stickers though and that's always a disappointment. However, what behooved me was the fact that I was missing chopsticks. Mind you, I have many pairs at home, but when you're ordering something to eat that requires a specific type of cutlery, you expect it to be with your order. Handrolls are in soy paper so they're extremely soft along with the sushi rice, decent amount of fish in the center. Flavorful with it's toppings. These were my favorites from the bunch. Krispy Rice- these let me down the most. The rice was Krispy ONLY on the top layer, was greasy and had an odd taste. The rest of the rice was too soft for a Krispy rice. These are a no go. Cut rolls- decent, no real complaints (it was a spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail) Nigiri- trash. this is where you can really tell the quality of the sushi. In the Krispy rice, cut and hand rolls you have different toppings to help a swimmer out. Through the nigiri you can tell that the quality of fish is mediocre at best. Edamame- plain but was not old looking or tasting like many others complained of. Overall, if you want those spicy options and still want an organized sushi box this is a better bet for you. It wasn't terrible, BUT and this is a big but, you're most certainly not getting quality sushi. If you're looking for a fast, pretty, clean box and don't care about it being the high grade sushi then this is an option for you. They definitely have plenty of room to improve.
google avatar

Megan A.

Yelp
Gross gross gross and completely inedible. Sugarfish prices with dumpster quality. Avocado rolls were filled with a gross warm avocado sludge. The fish is not fish. There are inconsistencies in the way everything is cut. Some rolls are super skinny while others are giant. Rice is always burned and tastes like oil. Insane. Every location is like this, do better.
google avatar

Carolyn S.

Yelp
Made the mistake of ordering via Postmates. Thought it would be of similar value/level as kazunori. I was wrong. Do you want to risk scromboid/ciguatera poisoning? Then order from krispy rice. They must be sourcing their fish from the scraps and leftovers...if it is even the fish they say they are presenting. Suspect that the yellowtail might actually be escolar. The fish looks like it went through a blender with a canola oil based sauce (or its fish slime?) to attempt to disguise its rot. I guess since this kitchen is right in the thick of Hollywood tourist activity they cater it to the tastes of people who don't know better? Thats a TERRIBLE way to treat guests to our city and reflects poorly. Another indicator that this place is cheap and gross is the fake wasabi which has corn syrup as one of the main ingredients. WTF. And the soy sauce has wheat in it. KrispyRice should be booted from the digital dining apps. Its that bad.
google avatar

Yaheli A.

Yelp
I RARELY leave reviews (even bad ones) but I couldn't stay quiet about this one because I want to warn others so they can avoid succumbing to the same fate. The food was absolutely terrible. To the point where I couldn't finish even though that was all I had eaten that day and was starving. The rice was hard and oily, the fish did not taste fresh and was overly salty. I've had better quality fish and sushi from my local Ralph's (which is amazing and cheap btw)!!! And the cherry to top off an already inedible meal...FOOD POISONING! I broke out in hives on my arm! Bottom line...we paid THEM $60 for an inedible meal and food poisoning. I'm so upset at postmates for recommend this restaurant. We should have checked Yelp before ordering.

Isabella D.

Yelp
Lowk the worst I've ever seen. They took all the food in my order and balled it up in the corner of a box - then sent it to me. Idk how their company is still in business
google avatar

Flora H.

Yelp
While the sushi is not the "best", the quantity that you get for $30 for the standard box is actually quite reasonable and the quality is perfectly fine for sushi take-out/delivery. The presentation is great - so you are definitely paying a bit for instagrammable content, but that being said it's totally solid sushi.
google avatar

Dayna C.

Yelp
Looks like it's gonna be decent because of the presentation. But....no. I got the "Just Krispy" box. I went back and forth over what I was gonna treat myself too. With this pandemic, eating out is a big time treat. I regret my decision. I will give them a little break because maybe the quality is shabby because of the pandemic. But if you can't maintain quality, then you should close. I did like the avocado krispy rice. But that was it. A box of three different kinds of krispy rice and two pieces of hard fried, damn near inedible shrimp. I took a bite, it was so hard and tasteless. I tossed them. The tuna, the halibut...looked weird, like it was glazed. And tasted like nothing. I feel like as a consumer my taste buds are being disrespected. My HARD earned money. Ughhhh And then my stomach started cramping a few hours later. And I'm feeling like I might have a touch of food poisoning. Just what I need during these times. Spent 25 bucks on lunch, for below sub-par food and a bellyache. Cute presentation is just talking it, not walking it. I had high hopes as the name...Katsuya is slapped on it. But that's a hard pass. Though again...could be Coronavirus quality issues. Like maybe the head chef isn't working. Or the food supply issue. But.....it didn't cost any less. Cute for a picture, upsetting for a meal.
google avatar

Chloe K.

Yelp
Wtf is it $18 worth it? Sooooo bad. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Quality is sooo bad and its very small portion.
google avatar

Ja'niya W.

Yelp
Who cares about the garbage reviews. I've ordered Krispy Rice takeout two nights in a row using Uber Eats. I've spent less money on sushi than I ever have using the app. And this sushi came with the most beautiful packaging I've ever seen come in a takeout box. For the price, how can you dare complain? $8.50 for an 8-piece California roll that tastes incredibly fresh is a no brainer! The portions are correct for the price and I have nothing but great things to say as far as the presentation and the flavor! I've found my new go-to sushi take out spot and highly suggest you ignore all the negative reviews! People love to complain about nothing. People take things so personal. For this price, you can't beat the value you get not only the food quality, but the expensive packaging sets them apart.
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
Food arrived after 50 minutes from Uber Eats. Ridiculously small portions especially for price and lack of flavor. We ordered the Krispy Rice 101, the Truffle Rice Cakes, and 8 pieces of Truffle Avocado Rolls. We had upset stomachs afterwards and it wasn't even that tasty. Below average sushi. You couldn't even taste the truffle. Would never order from here again although the packaging is very cute. That's all you're paying for
google avatar

Della T.

Yelp
Tuna was the smallest and lowest quality sushi I've ever had. Spicy yellow tail roll had a absolutely no fish in it. The entire restaurant has never seen real crab. All hand rolls and everything are all fake crab. Very poor quality
google avatar

Megan D.

Yelp
I would recommend dining at Katsuya rather than ordering this takeout. The krispy rice dish should be eaten hot and doesn't lend itself well to be takeout. If you are going to splurge on sushi takeout, I recommend sugarfish or kazu nori - it travels much better and tastes way more fresh. I was really excited, but this fell short of expectations.
google avatar

Bella F.

Yelp
Really really small portion of yellowtail and the tuna tower was completely overwhelmed with fish eggs. For the price I expected a bit more.
google avatar

Donald M.

Yelp
Ordered delivery through Uber eats and was super disappointed, especially considering the high price if the meal). Flavorless salmon, chewy baked crab rolls and crispy rice sushi that was more hard than crispy. Even their soy sauce was questionable. Probably better in-house, but I won't be eating there again.
google avatar

Nattles S.

Yelp
The reviews are true. This place is a sham. We ordered via Postmates. Crispy rise was so soaked with oil it was not edible. Reached out to the business, but of course there is no number. Just an email into the abyss. Fake restaurant. Hoping we don't get sick from the few bites we had
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
Worst tasting "food". I would not call it sushi. The "krispy rice" part was SOAKED IN GREASE". Was the rice part supposed to be served hot? Awful texture. The fish was all ground into paste and tasted old. I don't think I can get across how awful this was. The delivery bag was cute. That's the nicest thing I can say. I hope this didn't give me food poisoning.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Cute concept! I love the krispy rice at Katsu-ya studio city so why not a whole dinner? WRONG! Waste of money. The rice was fried so much it was so difficult to eat, not pleasant mouth feel (think a mouth full of captain crunch tearing up your mouth), there were no kernels of rice not fried. The oil seemed old cuz it sits so heavy in the stomach. Didn't think this would be a problem since frying seems to be the main cooking method. hand rolls and fried shrimp were better than anticipated but the star was supposed to be the krispy rice rolls. So disappointed. If you want to spend $100 just go to katsu-ya or any other sushi place.
google avatar

g w.

Yelp
I'm not sure why people are hating on the Krispy Rice!! I've ordered from them (via Postmates) and they were not only fast, bit the rice was still Krispy!! I'm sorry all you agro covid haters.. but that other place with the beautiful box of sushi doesn't actually put sugar on the fish and it takes over an hour. I'd really love to have sugar on my fish (dessert sushi, yes please) but instead i will order the krispy in my rice. I love the baked crab handroll. It would definitely be part of one of my last meals before i die. Its absolutely umami when dipped in soy. The only reason I don't give Krispy Rice 5 stars is because their soy sauce portion is laughable. Make sure you have soy sauce in your house or don't throw away the packets you have in that drawer in your kitchen. You know that drawer..
google avatar

Kelly W.

Yelp
DON'T DO IT! We ordered last night, our Postmates delivery person stood outside for 3 HOURS. AND THEN KRISPY RICE CANCELLED! So this poor driver, stood outside, didn't make any money on our order and then didn't make any money for the rest of the evening since it was so late. If you don't have them means to take that many orders - then don't take them. Cap it so you can at least service those who make the orders. My friend also ordered and said the food was so disgusting that they threw it away. Really hope to see this restaurant close as quick as they showed up. Will never be ordering from an Katsuya brand again. In a time where it's important to SUPPORT our service people, it's places like this that take advantage of our drivers and customers and it's unacceptable.
google avatar

Colleen A.

Yelp
I saw them on Postmates and my tastebuds decided the truffle avocado Krispy rice was a must try. We ordered one of the box combos and a few a la cart items. My first impression: the pieces are SMALL. So small. I don't know what trickery it is to make them look normal size in photos but they're literally bite sized. We did not order enough food for three (but the price tag was must more than we would have spent at our local sushi spot). The food was good. I really did like the truffle avocado Krispy rice -- it's innovative and different from any other dish I've ever had, but I just can't wrap my head around the price. I won't order from here again, but if you're looking for something new and different and money isn't an issue, try it!

James M.

Yelp
Trust the other reviewers. This is overpriced and subpar sushi. They use imitation crab meat, and the sushi (for some reason) is very greasy/oily. There were oil stains beneath each roll, even the non fried rolls. I really wanted to like this but it's glorified grocery store sushi- at best. I'd recommend spending a little extra money (like $5 extra, max) and getting SUGARFISH down the street. They have much better/quality ingredients. I gave two stars because the staff was nice and very polite. I appreciated that. Food, however, never again. Be warned.
google avatar

Lori H.

Yelp
If I could give them zero stars I would. I know times are hard, tough and weird right now but they have the audacity to charge as much as they did on food that was not even edible. The sushi was actually stale and tasted OLD. I actually almost broke my tooth when I went to take a bite of the spicy tuna on crispy rice. So awful I had to throw it all away. The only thing this has going for it is the cute packaging. Save your money and order elsewhere.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Biggest rip off! Sushi pieces were extra small and dry, the truffle avocado was browning and they give you one dip worth of ponzu and soy and one bite of ginger. I was so excited to have sushi during this quarantine and just ended up feeling ripped off. Only supporting my local sushi restaurants from now on.
google avatar

Babak B.

Yelp
To say this place is a mess is an understatement. My son and daughter placed an order and went to pick it up and waited one and a half hours for an order that they said is almost ready for that entire time. What is worse is there were 27 people waiting for orders, many from Postmates. All standing very close together and no support from the restaurant. After an hour and a half my kids left and the staff were upset that they were cancelling their order. 1. Get your act together with order time 2. Social distancing rules should be followed 3. You are putting people in a dangerous situation 4. Don't copy other restaurants and be a bit more original. Same box and even use the term trust us just like Sugarfish. Really bad!
google avatar

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
I'll keep it short - if you like tiny, rancid sushi that most likely isn't what you ordered, this is the restaurant for you. If you like sushi that is normal-sized, fresh and exactly what your ordered I'd recommend going literally anywhere else. I won't even touch on the price or how long it takes to get your order because no one should even bother getting to the point of having to worry about those things before deciding to eat elsewhere. Sorry that wasn't that short, but this place is a biiiiig "no thank you."

Bry A.

Yelp
I am reviving my account just to write this one review, because I am livid. See attached picture. Looks cute right? Look again: two of the salmon yuzu roll pieces have almost NO sushi, avocado is browned, California roll has more rice than crab, and the worst... the spicy yellowtail doesn't exist. I got four rolls of RICE. and a cucumber. This being sponsored by Katsuya makes this operation even worse. I can understand lower grade sushi and jostled presentation through the delivery service, but FAILING TO PUT FISH IN SUSHI MAKES IT NOT SUSHI. At these prices, I expected much better quality. I will definitely not be ordering from here again. It is just like Instagram: pretty and pretty fake.
google avatar

Bradford F.

Yelp
Listen to the other reviews, it's not just that they can't keep up with orders and deliver without many hours of delay, they will then lie to both drivers and Postmates dispatchers to try and force you into cancelling the order while keeping you waiting for hours with zero updates. Feel bad for the poor drivers forced to sit there waiting for an hour while being told by the store that the order was "nearly ready". Just own up to your operational failings and spare everyone else the time wasted.
google avatar

Hipsy N.

Yelp
Ordered this last week via Uber Eats. My driver got to the restaurant and waited for over 15 min. Then suddenly I was reassigned to a new driver. Same thing. Then a third one. 90 minutes had gone by at this point, and Katsuya was not answering their phone (?!) and I can't contact my driver because the order hasn't been picked up yet. Order gets cancelled. At first, I didn't know if I should be mad at the restaurant or at Uber Eats, but we ended up driving by Katsuya shortly afterwards and saw 20 confused people standing outside of the restaurant. Get your act together, Krispy Rice. Cute marketing means nothing when your customer can't even get an order. I'm 100% not ordering from here again because I don't want to take any chances, so you've lost me and I'm sure many others for any future purchases. If you can't take orders then say that loud and clear on all your platforms. Why do you need to make us hangry?!

Got suckered into buying tiny little miniature sushi for the price of expensive full size sushi by an instagram ad. Honestly I'm starting to not trust those as much....

Yelp
Lame! Save your money. Order Sugarfish. Or order from a neighborhood restaurant. The logo is cute, but that's about it. Is SBE just trying to dump all the fish they bought for that new bar on San Vicente? All the sushi was bland. The "famous" tuna crispy rice was soggy. We all argued about what that weird GRAY fish in the cut roll was. The website says it's yellowtail! I guess. Yuck. At least the edamame was good.

Yelp
Waited 2 hours for my Postmates delivery driver to tell me they wouldn't be able to get us our order. For a delivery only spot, you expect them to be able handle friday night rush orders. Fortunately for me I got to order and eat delicious thai food instead of overpriced LA hipster fish due to their incompetence. Avoid the Instagram hype and get sushi from a whole in the wall. Itll taste better and your money will go to a more worth while buisness.

Yelp
Annoyed - looked forward to this all week. HAD to order delivery and it arrives with EVERYTHING missing except two things. On top of that - quality of what we did get is not that great. Sashimi & nigiri - cut way too thick Hand rolls - MUST be dipped in sauce to taste anything & the crunchy shrimp had a weird cheesy flavor Cut rolls - cali roll is hard to mess up & I'll say the yellowtail one is good Edamame - I've had better from a microwave KRISPY RICE - horrible. Mine was burnt & my boyfriends was greasy. Nothing like any crispy rice dish we've had before Super embarrassing for Katsuya to have their name connected with this. Doesn't come anywhere close to the expectations you'd have after eating at Katsuya. Basically - I feel bamboozled.

Yelp
I had to log into Yelp for the first time in forever to review this place. TERRIBLE - PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. We ordered two of their "Krispy Heaven" boxes. What was delivered - ONE BOX with the king salmon nigiri missing from it, cold fried shrimp and lukewarm everything else. Their "signature" crispy rice was not crispy and bland. Imagine sushi coming from a gas station. The gas station sushi probably tastes better. After trying to get a second box delivered and failing (because the Postmates robot sucks) we gave up. Ended up eating cereal for dinner to compensate for the missing box. We basically spent about $100 for what felt like half of one dinner. Since both Krispy Rice and Postmates works on a non-human customer service experience, there is NO accountability for crap/lazy food production and delivery. This company most likely underpays their employees to make up for spending all their money on marketing/branding. Truly hope this place / Katsuya goes under soon. Boo.

Yelp
Worst sushi quality ever. Don't waste your money at this place. Salmon krispy rice and rolls were very fishy and tasted like rotten fish. The bottom of bento box was flooded with oils from crispy rice. It's a total contradiction from good health and high vigor they are promoting on their packaging. Don't be deceived by their cute logo and package.

Yelp
It's tasty, but definitely not what they advertise. The Krispy rice sushi isn't crispy at all...

Yelp
I cannot believe this is an SBE restaurant. Epic fail in my eyes. The spicy tuna tastes like it comes out of a toothpaste tube. Never again, worst sushi I have eaten in my life.

Yelp
When they first started it was really great sushi, I should've read the reviews. The quality has gone down sooooo much

Yelp
When i say AMAZING!!! I just happened to be scrolling through Grubhub looking for something that wasn't tacos. I saw that this place had free delivery so when I looked at the menu I noticed they had a lot of really good options so I ordered. It took a while to get to me but it was definitely worth the wait. The unfortunate thing is after my first order they stop delivering to my area. Other than that the food is amazing no complaints there.

Yelp
Seeing these reviews and having ordered 4 times from Krispy Rice I felt compelled to write one myself. Let me preface this by saying while I do know a handful of people involved in this operation, I have PAID EVERY time I have ordered Krispy Rice. I am by no means a "club goer" or "millionaire" but I do feel it's in my persona to support those businesses of friends I know. Having said that, onto the review... First of all, many people are talking about the size of the sushi rolls. I will not debunk those claims, but I will say in MANY of the top sushi spots around not just Los Angeles, but the world, the size of the rolls/pieces does not correlate to the quality of the fish. For me personally, I prefer quality over quantity and I have to say the quality has definitely been in line with what I was expecting. Secondly, I do not see what is being offered as a "rip-off" based entirely on the amount of food within their "boxes" (to be honest I have yet to order a la carte). If you are saying this is a rip off based on the size of the food you've received at the price point it's being offered, then I point you to the paragraph above. If you are saying this is expensive overall, you are definitely stuck in the "herd sushi" mindset and this experience just isn't for you. I will admit that I did mention TWICE to bring extra chopsticks and both times they forgot so maybe a little more attention to detail could be an area of improvement. But the world as we currently know it is NOT perfect, and they are just trying to provide people with a good product at a good price point. If you are looking for mass amounts of sushi/food at those same price points, then I agree this might not be for you. But if you're looking for quality as well as helping support a business, then give this place a try...or another one if you feel your experience wasn't up to par. And before you dismiss me as someone who has been planted to write a good review, just know I did this on my own premonition and have eaten sushi all over the world.
