On the Grid : Kroger

"Yes, we’re including a grocery store on your “must visit” list. Affectionately known as ‘Hipster Kroger’ (akin to sister stores ‘Disco Kroger’ of Buckhead, ‘Murder Kroger’ of Poncey-Highlands, and ‘Ghetto Kroger’ of East Atlanta), the grocery chain seems to have a culture of its very own in Atlanta. This is one exceptional store though; Creative Loafing even coined it as “the jewel in the supermarket chain’s in town crown.” Said to be the highest grossing store in the region, it is shockingly cleaner and better maintained than some of the other stores in the area. New products offerings are market-tested here and the store houses its own Starbucks, hot bar, and sushi bar. Open 24 hours, we urge you to avoid a stop during rush hour or prime weekend hours, because parking is limited and the lot is easily the most frustrating part of the whole experience." - Green Olive Media

You’d think a company the size of Kroger would recognize the massive opportunity in digital and online order fulfillment, but instead, they continue to drop the ball with consistently poor service and indifferent management. I placed an order for pickup between 7–8PM. At 5:20PM, I received a call informing me the department was closing early due to being short-staffed. If I couldn’t make it by 6PM, I’d have to wait until tomorrow. How does that make sense? Apparently, not a single store manager or employee is capable—or willing—to fulfill an order during my scheduled window. Instead, the burden is on me to stop what I’m doing and rush to the store to accommodate their staffing issues. No thanks. I cancelled the order and went to Publix. I paid a bit more, but had zero hassle and a great experience. Goodbye Kroger—I won’t be back.

Google
This store is close but if I need a Kroger, I go to Glenwood or Ansley for a more civilized experience. I'll even go to Publix or Trader Joe's instead of this location. If I have to go here for whatever reason, I anticipate it to be frustrating. They do nothing about cars illegally parked and blocking drive lanes. The garage is dark, littered and generally dirty. 2nd quarter 2025 - often out of stock, they continue to leave coupon price reductions posted past their deadline and you have to deal with indignant customer service who refuse to honor the posted price. Stock carts sit unattended in aisles blocking access, healthy people - often young people ride around on the handicap electric carts. When you find staff stocking shelves, they're likely on the phone and bothered if you ask a question. Staff seem unaware of the location of items and mislead you to their location and seem bothered you asked. Not always but most of the time it's a frustrating experience. When you cross paths with helpful friendly staff in a clean store it feels surprising.

Google
One of the worst Kroger experiences I had and my bar is not very high.. Store is dirty, the parking garage is very dark, there was no cash register open (just self check out). Advertisement of prices is very misleading - They advertise a price and the headline “digital deal” not only means that you need the Kroger card but also activate the cupon before shopping. Feels a lot like fraud. The 2 associates (that have to cover like 10 self check out registers) were not helpful - no wonder given the amount of work they have. Will for sure never come back

Google
It’s not marked but the lower parking lot that previously allowed parking for Kroger is no longer allowed. Got booted, paid $75 for less than 10 minutes inside. It’s Krogers has responsibly to their customer to place a large sign indicating parking is not allowed. I’ll never shop at that Kroger again. The predatory boot company, Empire Parking Services, knows this and is in the parking lot at all time’s placing boots. I saw 4 while I was there.

Google
Self checkout cashiers are lazy and so unhelpful-they are ALWAYS on their phones and never available for help. Tonight an item had a sale sign on it but was ringing up full price. When I finally got an attendant to come over, she had me go all the way to take a photo of the sale sign, then refused to give me the sale price. So disappointed!

Google
pickup is a nightmare at this location, they often cancel orders or don't have the staffing to bring your order out. long waits at the pickup spots and mgmt does not really seem to care. other stores out here offer better service such as whole foods, target or publix and ill have to take my business elsewhere since kroger cannot consistently fulfill my pickup orders.

Google
It is the Kroger brand, so it is reliable, and I shop there frequently. However, customer service is awful. Employees often have earbuds in. I once ask for a $50 supplement to be taken off my bill because I didn’t realize the high cost. The cashier insisted the charge was removed. I said my bill was obviously $50 higher. I went to the manager, and he said she didn’t remove the charge and reimbursed me. The original cashier nor the manager apologized for wasting my time and almost overcharging me by $50. Last time I was there, the girl who was bagging groceries left the checkout and was checking her phone. The cashier was so slow I bagged my own groceries. No one acknowledged I was doing their job. This Kroger needs some serious customer service training. Politeness goes a long way. I dread interactions here.

Google
This is a very nice Kroger. It is clean and has a lot of featured sections, butcher, bakery, cheese shop, sushi, and hot food items. They even have a KroBar!! Which is a great way to have a pint or glass of wine as you shop. I have seen this in other Krogers, but to have this right on the beltline is awesome. The store also has a Starbucks. Fantastic parking and security as well.

Yelp
It's gotten worse over the last few months... Aisle 15... if you live in downtown area, you know the smell of grime, urine, filth associated with many sidewalks and aroma dissipating from alleys... well aisle 15 has had this smell the last 3 visits I have made to this Kroger. Maybe a new refrigerated area department manager with a sense of smell is needed. One bright spot today. While checking out, the person in a red vest assigned to the area walked over to my self-check out belt and began bagging my groceries. After I said thank you, and continued scanning my items; Blue Shirt "You been on break yet" Red Vest "no" Blue Shirt "ok" and walks away, behind me... Blue Shirt (mumbling) "Ain't gonna eva gonna find me bag'n no bodies groceries" I guess at least it was with a racial slur. I told the Red Vest employee thank you again as she walked over to help bag another person's groceries. Some good customer service prevent one or more stars.... Aisle 15... ugh.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this Kroger on Ponce--once infamously dubbed "Murder Kroger," it's been revitalized and even stands as a convenient stop along the Eastside Beltline. Unfortunately, this was my first and definitely last visit. This is hands down the messiest, smelliest, most unkempt Kroger I've ever stepped foot in. As I walked the aisles, I noticed half-abandoned carts and products randomly scattered throughout the store--clear signs that I wasn't the only one having second thoughts about shopping here. The real dealbreaker? The freezer section. A foul mix of mildew, urine, and some kind of harsh cleaning solution hit me like a wall. I couldn't continue. I left my basket right there and walked out. Revitalized or not, no one should be buying food in a space that feels this neglected. Do better, Kroger. Atlanta deserves more.

Yelp
We've been using this Kroger since we moved into the neighborhood. It's right on the Beltline bike path and we ride our bikes there a couple of times per week. The pharmacy and Pharmacist Nhi are terrific. But the grocery store side of this supermarket has gone steadily downhill. The produce is less appealing and offers a smaller and smaller selection. When we were there yesterday, there were no carts or even baskets at either entrance. Often there are no carts at the Beltline entrance. And of course prices have gone up since Covid. I can understand it on some items but distilled water? Pre-Covid it was $0.99/gallon. Today it is $1.49! I can't think of a product that requires less labor to produce. The ingredient is water that has been distilled, presumably using electricity to power the process. Did I mention that yesterday there were empty shelves? It reminded me of my last trip to Cuba. Is Kroger abandoning this store? Running it down so they can claim sales are off and shut it down? The irony is that more and more apartments and population density are going up in what should be the store's catchment area. There's a rival chain supermarket 1/2 mile away that manages to just fine. Kroger, what's up?

Yelp
My first time in Atlanta, Kroger and Kroger Pub! And it did not disappoint. Quality/Quantity - The Pub has local breweries on tap! Also available are wines, see pictures. And cigars. It was like a one shop for all... I got the following flight - Three Taverns Lord Grey Sour Ale, Creature Comfort Tropical IPA (my favorite), Wild Leap Hazy IPA, Scofflaw Basement IPA. And walked over to the sushi case and got some sushi for lunch. See pictures. Atmosphere - Beautiful huge location. Has many, if not all the departments - Deli, bakery, cheese, full service meat and seafood, pharmacy, guest service, produce, Rotisserie chicken, empanadas & pastries, Starbucks, etc. They also have a good craft beer section. See pictures. But the most important one was their Pub!! And April was the BEST! Indoor or outdoor seating for the Pub. Service - April took this review to 6 stars!! Welcoming, inviting, and what a GREAT ambassador for Kroger! We were supposed to just get one beer and then go to lunch. But because April was so welcoming, we ended up eating here and having a flight of beer. She is so proud of working for Kroger, that she ran, I mean RAN to the back to grab some logo mugs to show off to us. Local events, local beers, etc. See pictures. Price - $15 for the sushi. $9 flight of 4 beers + generous tip! Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1883 with your 3000+ locations and too many subsidiaries to name.

Yelp
It's right on the Beltline and has entrances both on the Beltline and on the other side of the stool facing Ponce. Parking is tight so be aware of that.

Yelp
Never been inside a Kroger store before. But we do order our groceries from them back home. So this was one hell of an experience Would love to live in a city where a grocery store that's not just Publix exists.

Michele Annaleise G.

Yelp
Worst employee experiences ever. But today, Thanksgiving Day was beyond ... Kroger " employee " in your blue vest, literally yelling at patrons in parking lot trying to enter at approximately 4:50pm, " we're closed ... !!! " "Helllooooooo we are closed, you can not come in. We closed at 4:45pm " Interesting, you had posted on every search as 5pm today ? People may have even driven out of their way, just to arrive before 5pm only to be yelled at by this employee in the parking lot. But hey, Happy Thanksgiving Murder Kroger, long may you disappoint patrons !

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time here! I was able to sit and relax, I saw some local vendors. You will love being able to grab some treats from Kroger and sit with friends or make some new ones all in all I absolutely loved it!

Yelp
This store is always a pleasure to shop at. Shelves stocked, plenty associates to assist, many self check registers AND plenty of parking-FREE!!!!! Quite a distance from my home, but when in downtown ATL, I save my shopping for this location.

Yelp
2024 S U M M A R Y Generally, I don't like Kroger because they all seem very dirty and unkempt to me. This one is ok but I expected for it to be more updated since it's right next to Ponce City Market... alas, it is not. G O O D S There are certain stores in which I only buy the packaged goods, and Kroger is one of those stores. Simply because it just doesn't look very well kept or clean. The items that I come here for are usually bottled iced tea, cases of club soda and peanut butter cookies. I'll also buy the usual snacks, cereals, toothpaste, mouthwash, and things like that. Even though this Kroger is small, they have pretty much everything. A very good variety and I was satisfied . S E R V I C E Service is what you can expect in Atlanta, mainly filled with people who act like you're bothering them when you ask them a question related to their job. A M B I E N C E This Kroger is in a prime location. It looks pretty decent on the outside, but once you get inside, it's not as nice. But I do appreciate that they have covered and uncovered parking. Also, every time I go, there is a security officer on guard. Granted, he's not within the store, but by the stairs in the parking lot. But at least he's there. P R I C E Prices seem a little higher than the average Kroger. R A T I N G 2 Stars off because the produce could be fresher, and the place could be better kept.

Yelp
I was a bit overwhelmed at this store. Maybe because it had so much to offer. Where I entered I did not check out. You take an escalator to get to the main entrance. This store has everything. It severs a large population of people in the area so I get why it is big. It took me a bit to figure out where I needed to go. It has long isles so it's best to look at what is in each isle before entering. Wherever there is room there are also tables setup with items for sale. So not a lot of open areas. They carry everything. From flowers to plungers. You should be able to find it here. Great prices on sale items. They have full and self checkout. Someone at the self checkout to assist. If you don't have a Kroger card they will give you one to scan then fill out if interested. Nice!

Bill C.

Yelp
My only real gripe is the closing time and their behavior when closing. Kroger used to be open 24 hours. Then it went to 1:00, then 12:00, now 11:00. There no grocers open past 11:00 anymore. And if you go in after 10:30, you have to listen to one angry announcement after another. "We will be SHUTTING DOWN THE REGISTERS IN 3 minutes!!! IF YOU ARE NOT UP FRONT BY 10:55, YOU CANNOT CHECK OUT! One time a security guy told me they were closing at about 8 minutes until 11pm. I said, "OK." Then he started shouting... I said we're closing! Stop shopping! Another time, I was not even allowed to enter the store at 9:49. They make it as stressful as possible for the customers.

Yelp
Food is often out of stock, if you ever see an employee they will be as unhelpful as possible, the store is dirty and unorganized. No one can help you find anything and then they will boot you for no reason. This store should be burnt to the ground!

Will S.

Yelp
Every time I visit this Kroger they are sold out of what I need. Not sure why such a large retailer can't keep things in stock. Very frustrating experience every time.

Yelp
I know a good Kroger when I see one and this one is NICE! While I have fond memories of the Kroger that was in this spot before (affectionately known as Murder Kroger) this update feels SAFE to go to at night. There is surface parking and parking "under" the building but the store is located on the second level. You take outside stairs or indoor escalator or elevator. A stone throw away from Ponce City Market, this Kroger has a nice deli, sushi section, a Starbucks and seating area to eat. It is clean and well lit. One of the best Krogers in this city. Trust me, I know.
google avatar

Yelp
Not really sure how a virtually brand-new location can feel sad and neglected but that's what this Kroger is for me. I popped by to renew my tag registration and did some shopping afterward... not really jazzed by how the aisles are stocked or the selection of organic milk. While I'm not keen about the Publix's family political activities those stores seem better run and cleaner to me.

Yelp
I have been going to this Kroger for years the place never changes. I wish their fruits and vegetables were more fresh and the breads weren't so hard.. I also wish that people in the bakery were nicer.

Yelp
Had an opportunity to visit the NEW KROGER ON Ponce AKA "The Beltline KROGER!" Very nice store lots of parking. More than one story so we took the escalator up to the 2nd floor! Everybody was very knowledge and help us locate different items in the store! I couldnt believe when we walked in HOME CHEF MEALS were front and center!!! I have been trying to decide on HOME CHEF and im thinking Kroger confirmed my decision! They have several restaurants in there(pictures included), I saw Cracklin B's BBQ, Starbucks, Pub at Ponce and a few others. We had cookie samples! They have a HUGE wine and cheese selection. Fresh pizza made at Pizza Romana's. Murray's Cheese station had every cheese you could imagine. The store was well decorated for the FALL! I saw a pumpkin priced at $49.99!! The biggest pumpkin ever! There is a pharmacy located in the back of the store. There was so much to take in but I gathered as many pictures as I could! The graphics in the store are amazing! The check is on both sides of the store and well organized. This location is right at the beltline and so convenient to everything in the area! I will most definitely be back! Thanks KROGER ON PONCE!

Sue P.

Yelp
They always have fresh produce and a large variety of all kinds. When you need help there is always someone there to help. Kroger is a nice clean store.

Yelp
The staff actually says good morning when you walk in. I thought I was hearing things because people don't say that anymore... Customer service: I always leave here happy. Rarely do I encounter a moody employee here, and I used to live in this Kroger since my bf lived down the street. Location: Best located Kroger ever. Right on the belt line and Ponce de Leon. You can get tons of shopping done at TJ Maxx, Whole Foods, Home Depot, and even Ponce City Market. Parking is always easy peasy since they have the garage and the uncovered parking in front. Walking in from either side is equally convenient since they have the escalators and elevators. My favorite experience every time...Mr. Patrick, the security guard! I love this guy!! He seems to know a lot of the regulars because there's always someone chatting him up when I want to go say hi. I'll sometimes drive all the way across town to come here and shop, but I especially don't forget to look for my guy, and he's an NYC native, too. Would I recommend? Of course. Will I be back? I'm probably going today. Lol

Yelp
Super nice Kroger, but with same low prices. They have an entrance right off the Beltline, which is very convenient. The sale section is really great. They actually have some quality items in there. You have to know where to go though--it's in the pet food aisle. The grab and go frozen meal section is very off-putting. I didn't try it myself, but the food does not look appealing. The whole concept of using a giant scoop to get frozen chicken and such out, that other people have touched, grosses me out. (I know this is the same concept as grab and go nut section, but this just seems even grosser.) Besides that, definitely recommend this location! Friendly staff. Great rebranding!

Yelp
For being smack dab in the middle of a city, this is a pretty darn good Kroger. It tends to get a bit picked over. This is as to be expected, because it's constantly busy, as it is right off the Beltline. Sometimes the meat is hard to comeby. They product section is decent and their packaged foods are really well-organized. There is a huuuuge prepared foods section and I think the way this store is structured is really smart. You could hop in off the beltline for a quick snack and never even need to make it to the other side of the store. The pharmacists are really awesome. And there's usually a line of people waiting right when the pharmacy opens, so be prepared.
google avatar

Kona B.

Yelp
Pros: Pizza slices heated to order Wide sitting area with TV screens Cons: Parking and exiting can be busy ************* Comments: Pizza crust with dried tomatoes and spinach was crunchy after they reheated it for a cheap price. Wide open market with lots of ready-to-eat options. Lots of people walking around the backside. Bright, pleasant atmosphere.

Yelp
The Kroger is nice~especially the outdoor beltline bar!~ however hard to come by many items as they seem to always be all bought up! If they can keep up with the demand this

Yelp
Lavern in the deli section was very attentive helpful and knowledgeable about the hot food section. she took time and answered all my questions.

Yelp
I had a horrible incident at the Kroger on Ponce that has the bar facing the Atlanta Beltline. I asked the lady cooking outside on the patio if she could turn down the music as it was so loud people where covering there ears, except for a few illegal vendors that were selling next to this employee of Kroger. I spoke to the manager about the volume of the music. The woman cooking outside of this Kroger, who had a small beard, was an embarrassment to both Kroger and humanity in general. Another customer witnessed this Kroger employee screaming and yelling when asked to turn down the music. Even an employee suggested lowering the volume. I thought speaking with the manager would resolve the situation, especially since other employees had witnessed her acting so inappropriately. However, when the manager, an older Indian woman, came out, she said there was nothing she could do as Kroger had authorized it and suggested coming inside as a solution. To make matters worse, inappropriate ads--clearly from a Pandora stream--were playing, and the music was completely unsuitable for children of any age. It's disappointing to see Kroger being a bad neighbor to those within earshot of this terrible music.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to check out Murder Kroger 2.0, I mean Resurrection Kroger, sorry (not sorry) 725 Ponce Kroger. I was a bit thrown by the "timed" limits of all the parking spaces in the surface lot out front, as I haven't seen that at other Kroger's around town. I like that the store itself seems big and of course everything looks new. I visited the bar which was a decent size, but they seem to have some different things and policies going on than my own Sexy Kroger aka Glenwood Kroger. I will say I liked that they offered wine flight options so I definitely partook it that. The "bartender" was extremely nice so that was also good. Overall, I was expecting to be more impressed with this new Kroger but I think I'll just stick to my Sexy Kroger which I think has a much better vibe.

Yelp
This is my neighborhood Kroger. The produce is decent. The meat is generally fresh. However they are often not stocked - I mean shelves are empty. Furthermore, there is NO PARKING. On several locations I have had to just leave. 10 minutes is way too much time to be looking for parking at the grocery store.
google avatar

Ang K.

Yelp
On the beltline and across from Ponce, Kroger has a huge deck with bar access from a togo window. We enjoyed wine and beer, and the best part was all the dogs laying on the deck. Inside there's a Starbucks, a chicken place, and also inside seating for the bar. Perfect place to stop and grab a drink before walking further down the beltline.

Yelp
Formally know as murder Kroger this new super Kroger May still be up to its murderous ways. There is a strong possibility that this Kroger will be the Ponce City market killer! Direct beltline access, inexpensive beer and wine, and a Starbucks all available on a nicely designed patio that overlooks the beltline. Not to mention the biggest supermarket I have been inside in a while. Housing multiple eating option for the lunch and dinner crowd at prices that undercut Whole Foods and anything Ponce has to offer. All of this with the ability to buy all your groceries while sipping on a Chardonnay. I would need to pass 2 closer Whole Foods, 2 Publix, Trader Joe's, and a deferent Kroger to get here but it may still be worth it. Besides its location and alcohol sipping while shopping availability it is still a cut above. Living in cities generally means smaller markets. This Kroger is the size of a market purchased for the price of farmland. There are products that instead of getting a section on a shelf have an entire isle of options. Who doesn't want to sample an Atlanta brewed beer while picking up a half gallon of Almond milk for the house?
google avatar

Yelp
I remember the days of what was once called "Murder" Kroger, well that one is long gone and turned into the most nice looking one it is now! I have been to this one a few times and each time I am more impressed with it. I like how it has been redesigned into a two-story one with the parking deck underneath and the Kroger grocery store above. The store inside looks as if you stepped inside of Whole Foods and that's just not something you see inside Krogers. The store does have three entrances so if you are walking down the Beltline can walk with into the store just as easily as if you drive up to it. I will definitely be returning to it and recommend checking it out.

Yelp
A super-sized Kroger with super-sized parking garages -- free parking for Kroger customers and super-cheap $7/day parking in the office building garage -- is the last thing that the Atlanta BeltLine needed directly across from Ponce City Market, where suburban visitors queue to valet park their grotesquely oversized SUVs on weekend afternoons. While surely some neighboring residents will benefit from the ability to pop in and out to buy a few things, the store -- with its registers facing the parking lot -- is targeted at drivers. Apart from a few extra features, this is a regular Kroger store with Kroger's regular low-quality food products. One of the store's more bizarre "bonus" features is a cooler full of rocks -- excuse me, flash-frozen food -- that customers are encouraged to shovel into plastic containers and re-heat at home. (How long does the food sit in those containers? Until it starts crumbling into dust?) I'd love to see inside the brain of the Kroger executive who thought a freezer full of "food" that looks like astronaut ice cream would be an attractive way to generate sales. For those not looking to shop, there are a few unhealthy food stands, including BBQ, fried chicken, and some unappetizing pizza. All of these stands serve customers their food in single-use plastic containers or with single-use plastic utensils, which you then have to pay for at the self-checkout tills. Another amenity is a "pub" at the front of the grocery store, which sells some relatively affordable beer and wine -- on a nice day, it could be pleasant to enjoy some of this with a grocery store-purchased snack on the terrace overlooking the BeltLine. Within just a couple minutes of this huge store, there's a huge Publix, a huge Whole Foods, and a Trader Joe's. I'd recommend walking down the BeltLine to the Trader Joe's, buying some affordably priced imported European cheese and olives -- maybe some of their delicious truffle potato chips -- and then enjoying those snacks with a beer or glass of wine from the Kroger "pub" on its terrace.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit to the infamous "Murder" Kroger. I went on a Saturday evening and parking was free and also hassle free. The inside was however pretty busy it actually reminds me of the Whole Foods in Midtown in the fact that if you just wanted to get in and out you may be better off going elsewhere as there are a slew of other reasons for people to be in the store. We've got a chicken spot, a BBQ place, starbucks, pizza, asian hot bar, an extensive bakery and a pub with an outdoor patio amongst other normal grocery store things. This Kroger has alot to offer and I think it's great to have on the belt line. As a Kroger junkie, I feel comfortable saying that this is one of the nicest Kroger's I've been in. I will specifically go out of my way to get to the nicest locations and now I can add this to my list. I had a chance to try the Pizza and it was pretty good at $11 for a whole pizza. I look forward to coming back for the pub and other eateries!

Yelp
Stood at the sandwich counter for 5 minutes while two employees stood behind counter chatting with each other. Told me several times they'd be right with me just so they could keep finish their conversation. When they finally felt like helping me the individual was incredibly rude and clearly wanted to be anywhere but there. I just left and drove to Publix down the street. Wont go back.

Yelp
After 20 years away from the ATL in NYC where even the worst-run grocery (looking at you Key Foods) beats the wallop out of this place. All cashiers are gone, it's all self-checkout, most of the scanners are faulty, at any given time there's a line of 5-6 ppl at customer service where 1 poor schmoo is trying to help while at least 10-15 other "employees" lurk about looking at their phones and doing nada. Whoever "manages" this store needs a remedial course in management, while at least a dozen "employees" should either be fired or else reinstall the cashier system. I've given it at least a dozen tries but F this place.

Yelp
Was recently here and treated rudely and disregarded by "police" or security officer Shawn (black woman). The outdoor window for Starbucks was closed so my daughter, my dog whom is a certified service animal, and I needed to go inside to grab our drinks. Shawn waited until our drinks were about to be handed to us to come close behind us and tell us we needed to leave and dogs weren't allowed. Did not once ask if it was a service animal for disabilities etc. Did not once greet us. Did not once explain any store policy. She was immediately rude. I explained to her I just needed my last drink, which was getting the top put on, and would leave when I got it. She cuts me off and says no and then continues to state we need to leave etc. as if that would help anything. My daughter, who's autistic was not about to go outside alone in the cold considering we were about to leave anyways. As we walk out i ask for her badge number and tell her my dog is serviced. She remarks, "well if your dog had gear I wouldn't have approached you anyways" denying her badge number and telling me to get from around her. She must've forgot she was just 1 foot away from my daughters face demanding things without respect. I take a picture of her and ask again for her badge but she states to complain to the manager of Kroger. I guess Kroger is holding deputy titles now since she didn't want me to know her department information. Overall rude, didn't give me a chance to explain myself or the services my animal provides, wanted a reason to keep arguing and make it clear of her power. She must be bored being assigned at Kroger and needs to consider taking her aggression to the streets of Atlanta. Make herself useful

Yelp
One of the best grocery stores in the neighborhood. Good products. Good staff. Really great selections of specialty items. Good prices too.

Yelp
Love this Kroger. Only one I've ever seen with clearance items and a clearance AISLE which in this economy is a life saver. Store is always so clean and the employees are always helpful and kind. This Kroger and their employees are a blessing to the area

Yelp
Stop calling this place murder Kroger! It's a full service grocery and is very safe and affordable. Not to mention it's accessible from the beltline which is an added bonus. If you want the cashiers to chat with you about current events or the weather just go to TJ's instead.

Yelp
This is Murder Kroger. In 2002, a dead body was found in a car in the parking lot of this Kroger. However, this Kroger was referred to as "Murder Kroger" long before that. I can count on one hand the number of times I've shopped at this Kroger, most recently a couple weeks ago to pick up some candles for a birthday cake. The parking lot looked dirty and the exterior of this Kroger appeared sketchy. Upon closer inspection, the customers I saw didn't look too "sketchy," though. There were a couple panhandlers outside and, combined with the immediate surrounding area, I can see why people are put off by this particular store. This Kroger is one of the smaller Krogers I've been to in Atlanta. The produce section looked relatively updated. For a Saturday night, this store was moderately busy with plenty of staff. The cashier and bag lady were both friendly and efficient. Overall, no real complaints. Note this Kroger draws clientele from surrounding businesses such as MJQ, Drunken Unicorn, Clermont Lounge, and Masquerade, so expect an entertainingly eclectic mix of people.

Yelp
It is great to have a DMV kiosk at the store. I laugh every time that I hear a Kroger commercial talking about their produce freshness checks. Mushy and moldy are the two words to best describe their produce.

Yelp
I've been riding/walking by this location seemingly forever wondering when it would open and as I zipped by on my bike yesterday saw that it was. I missed the grand opening by one day but things were still feeling festive. It's not just a Kroger, the are restaurants and other shops inside and they're so well integrated it's a little difficult to figure out what's part of the Kroger and what's not. I'll let my pictures tell the story about the great variety available in the different departments. I couldn't do any real shopping because I was on my bike, but I did spend about half an hour exploring and snagged an absolutely awesome sandwich at the deli. They do have something I've never seen before; a section devoted to bulk, flash frozen entrées. You just scoop up as much as you need. It looks like bins filled with different colored rocks. The sauce coats the outside of the meat and/or veggie chunks. I sampled the chicken Alfredo and it was pretty good. The only negatives I have is that on the Beltway side self checking is the only option, and while the cold beer section is varied and frankly enormous, if you want a cold Lacroix or other non-alcoholic beverage your only option is a bunch of tiny fridges scattered throughout the store in seemingly random locations. This badly needed, long awaited store is going to make living on or near the Beltway even better, there's no doubt about it. The wait was worth it.

Yelp
This grocery store is the closest one to me but I've stopped going there because you can never find parking and their escalator is constantly broken. When they first opened, there was an escalator for carts so you could take your cart down to the parking area. Unfortunately, it was constantly broken and they eventually just closed it. Now you must use one of the two service elevators in order to take your cart down to the parking. Also, their down escalator has now been broken for months and is blocked off. In order to get down to the parking area, you either have to take one of the two service elevators or go outside to take the stairs. I had high hopes for the store, but it seems a bit neglected.

Yelp
This has to be the worst staffing at a Starbucks that I have ever been to. The whole staffs attitude was deplorable. They couldn't even get my decaf with cream and sugar right. Heard one of them get pissed at a customer because they ask for water. I will never ever go back there.

Yelp
This is definitely one of the better Kroger's in the area. It used to be much better than it is now, but understandably so given COVID. They have a nice selection here but their produce department sometimes isn't great.

Yelp
The best thing about the store is the beltline patio and coffee prices. I only shop at Kroger when I have to. I usually only pick up packaged staples. The fresh produce is often in bad shape and the fresh meats are limited and lower quality. Their thing is cheaper processed foods - even in the meat dept. The service here is weird. They go through the motions, saying only what they have to, but not interested in people or being helpful. I've been "assisted" multiple times without being spoken to; or the minimum being said, like the final total to pay. It screams of employees being trained on systems not service and not being taken care of.

Yelp
Lovely Kroger. Still looks new after a few years. Everything is always in its place and great sales if you come late. I especially love the reduced fruit.

Yelp
Yesterday neither my phone's Verizon nor in-store WiFi internet were accessible, causing Kroger app to show that annoying on-screen processing swirl. The cashier and even the store manager were completely unsympathetic and tried to be as bureaucratic and inhuman as possible. After 5 minutes of making me wait (as if they were actually talking to someone else instead of just pretending), the store manager came back and rudely punched in an electronic coupon over-ride that took her all of 10 seconds. Both the point-of-sale clerk and the store manager said that the in-store WiFi isn't their problem and that I should just step outside (somehow with my unpaid groceries [then they objected to that, of course]...that's how the Kroger app works by scanning the groceries with one's phone) and use the internet there. One realizes very quickly in dealing with the local retail business culture that the legacy of dead bodies at this Kroger location (quite honestly "the Murder Kroger" epithetic is still deserved after this experience) was probably due more to inhuman and uncaring management and staff rather than poor infrastructure such as bad parking lot lighting. Shame! Shame! Shame!

Yelp
Some call it Killer Kroger, some Murder Kroger, how it has not been yelped is beyond me. Oh Murder Kroger (my personal favorite) is now a misnomer, the gentrification of Ponce almost complete. Back in the pre-Olympic days (and even some time afterward) it was indeed a scary place to shop. The trip to buy toilet paper and milk was a harrowing journey into the heart of darkness. But relax now. Col. Kurtz is long gone and after a long needed makeover a few years ago, it ain't that bad. It's not nearly as beloved as the yupPublix up the street or as trendy as Whole Foods, but I have an affection for my old Murder Kroger stemming from when I lived within walking distance. I think it's because of one too many nights stumbling out of MJQ in an ill-fated plan to buy groceries for the next day. It wasn't until the next morning that I discovered that in my less-than-lucid state Spam, pickles, and a box of condoms seemingly made good choices for a nutritious breakfast. Friends don't let friends shop drunk. But if you spend enough time in late night Murder Kroger, you'll see that I'm not alone. It's location near The Local, MJQ, The Clermont and a myriad of other places of bad judgment draws those seeking a fix of Hot Pockets and Hormel canned chili into its fluorescently lit arms. Buckhead's Disco Kroger earned that name from its proximity to Limelight, where drunken and coked out 80s kids would descend upon the DK for their own 80s needs (Leg warmers? Jelly bracelets? Typewriter ribbon?) I propose the crown be passed to a Disco Kroger for the 21st century. Murder Kroger, step up, speak up and be noticed. The King is dead. All hail the King.
