On the Grid : Kroger

"Yes, we’re including a grocery store on your “must visit” list. Affectionately known as ‘Hipster Kroger’ (akin to sister stores ‘Disco Kroger’ of Buckhead, ‘Murder Kroger’ of Poncey-Highlands, and ‘Ghetto Kroger’ of East Atlanta), the grocery chain seems to have a culture of its very own in Atlanta. This is one exceptional store though; Creative Loafing even coined it as “the jewel in the supermarket chain’s in town crown.” Said to be the highest grossing store in the region, it is shockingly cleaner and better maintained than some of the other stores in the area. New products offerings are market-tested here and the store houses its own Starbucks, hot bar, and sushi bar. Open 24 hours, we urge you to avoid a stop during rush hour or prime weekend hours, because parking is limited and the lot is easily the most frustrating part of the whole experience." - Green Olive Media

This place has been our local supermarket for more than a decade. In all honesty, it has been in decline since the Covid-19 days. First, with the move from 24/7 to 6am -11pm hours. The 6am open means a lot of people can no longer stop in before heading into work themselves. There has also been a staffing issue. This place is often short staffed, and the checkouts are insane. More than once, I have left the store and walked over to Target to make my purchase. One need only observe the abandoned carts & baskets full of food to see this is a widespread issue. Additionally, the selection of produce and perishables is horrible. Many of my shopping trips result in arriving home to discover rotting fruits and vegetables or molding bread products. I keep telling myself to shop for all of my perishables at Whole Foods or Publix. It's more expensive, but any savings are moot when you wind up throwing food out. Lastly, I have observed a lot of price gouging and price discrepancies (miss rings at the checkouts... never in my favor). Ultimately, this store must address these issues, or myself & others will choose to shop elsewhere.

On June 24, 2025 I ordered a Paw Patrol balloon arrangement for my grandson’s 3rd birthday. I placed the gift order online and the product description and picture on Kroger’s website shows a picture of a huge 31” Chase Paw Patrol dog shaped balloon with two star shaped balloons plus two smaller round Mylar balloons. When the arrangement was delivered the Chase dog-shaped balloon was not included in the balloon arrangement. The balloons were delivered to my grandson so I did not see them before delivery. I was shocked when I called him and saw the Paw Patrol gift arrangement was a weird mixture of small Mylar balloons with Mickey Mouse, Toy Story, Paw Patrol plus a few latex balloon where the majority of the balloons were unrelated to Paw Patrol. There was no Paw Patrol balloon arrangement, no centerpiece Chase (dog) balloon, nothing as advertised for the $65 that I was charged (except #3). I contacted Kroger’s Bloom Haus delivery company, Uber Eats as well as Kroger floral and Kroger customer service for two days. No live person answers the phone, with just an electronic switchboard. I only reached a pharmacist who could not help me. Uber Eats delivered the arrangement and I immediately reported that I received the wrong balloon arrangement. I received multiple electronic responses that I’m not eligible for a refund for this product. The whole experience has been extremely frustrating and discouraging. I expected much better customer service from Kroger.

Google
Horrible experience with Seafood department. I found WORMS in the Perch, Catfish fillets and all under other fish I took pictures and NOTHING happened. They continue packing up and freezing the fish Spoke with manager about the situation and he said, there's anything wrong with my fish and to contact corporate.

Once in a while I'll stop in with my son. I stopped in since I was shopping in the area. I found a worker on the floor that put a case of water in my cart..When I finished shopping I checked out. I asked the front end girl could she get someone to put in in my car. She stated that their store don't have baggers and there wasn't anyone that could put it in my car. When she saw the guy bringing in carts she told me to ask him.I asked him and he told me to get someone from the inside to do it😳...At this point I was was really ticked off.. A gentleman/customer that was finishing up at the customer service desk came over and offered to put my water in the car...My shopping here is over unless I'm with my son..dissatisfied senior citizen!!!

Google
No exaggeration, this must be the worst grocery store I’ve ever been to in my life. The staff are rude and unhelpful, the prices that are labeled on the shelves are not up-to-date. Do yourself a favor and go to a different grocery store.

Been coming here for 8 years. While never great in that time, the last 2 years have really gone downhill. Fruit and vegetables often are not fresh with flies and other pests crawling around. Additionally the employees are mostly rude and lazy not to mention the insane checkout lines. Figured I would update with some photos of rotting fruit and fruit flies from today's visit.

I just luv the US ! Kroger is a 24hr grocery store. I'm vegan & they offer alot of yummy alternatives. I get lost in their ice-cream section and snack aisle. They offer an extensive wine selection which is important.

I recently had an extremely negative experience at Kroger. During my visit, I encountered several issues with items not scanning correctly at the self checkout lane. When I brought this to the attention of the attendant, I was met with a response stating that they couldn't override the issue without a picture, instead of taking the initiative to investigating by going to where those items were and correcting the error. This incident left me extremely dissatisfied with the level of customer service, especially after spending an hour shopping. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Yelp
Great prices! Eggs $1.99 Publix eggs $4. That's really ridiculous Publix! The store is so big! So there are a lot of choices. They also carry Prime beef! Produce has been good.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years but had to give up two weeks ago. Some good people stocking shelves but supervisors are awful. Very few check out lanes open. Aisles clogged with bins. Feels like pandemic times again. Tried to use a coupon last week and was basically harassed by a supervisor. Never going back again. It's a sad location. Gave one star because you have to.

Yelp
Sorry for the long post but I feel I need to get this off my chest. So I came to this store to grab a few snacks while I wait for my mother to finish shopping at a nearby store. As I parked and exited my vehicle I was approached by a gentleman that was down on his luck. The man asked me for some spare change, unfortunately I never carry cash. I asked the gentleman if he was hungry, he daid yes ma'am. I told the man to come with me in the store. As we were entering the store a black male manager approached us yelling at the gentleman that he wasn't coming into his store. The gentleman with me stopped and apologized and said ma'am "I can't go in his store." The manager then tells me "if you wanna give him something give it to him from across the street, he begs everyday and its very annoying." I turned around to told the gentleman to please wait outside for me and I will buy him something to eat. By the time I made it back outside the manager had run off the man. I said all of that to say this. You never know what shoes your feet are going to fit. You can say where you have been but you can't say where you are going. Be careful how you treat others.

Yelp
The staff is terrible, suspicious and lack integrity. I was accused of stealing because I had a bookbag. A female employee reported me for stealing. I came into the bathroom while she was already in there and when I came out of my stall she was just staring at me oddly. I ignored her and proceeded to exit the bathroom. I got to the entry doors to leave the store and was stopped by security/loss prevention. The security guard tried to grab my bag and I told him not to touch my property. I did eventually open up my belongings and show him what was in my bag. When he/they (the lady was lurking around trying to see what was going to happen) saw that, indeed, I had not taken anything, there was no apology or anything. What a horrible way to be treated. I do not recommend this Kroger at all.

Molly G.

Yelp
One nice employee, everyone else was lazy. Stared at me and said they didn't know how to do an order pick up. Kroger, please train your employees how to use the pick up checkout system and on customer service. Wasted 25 minutes and now heading to Publix just based on the principle of this. Being rude to customers (while checking out their own employee groceries) is a bad look for a national chain.

David T.

Yelp
This review is about the Kroger but the people who shop from the neighborhood. The location has gone down hill and due to more homeless and customers with a chip on their shoulders from the hood. Will not go back and do not recommend.

Jeffrey J.

Yelp
I've been shopping at this location for about 20 years (since they opened). Lately, the front end customer service is terrible. The people working the self-checkout lanes act annoyed when they have to assist you. Coupons, ID check, etc. is terrible. There are never enough lanes open for the large volume of customers they have and when they FINALLY approach to help you, they act annoyed. I don't know who is managing the store (no one ever seems to know who the manager on duty is, or are willing to let you speak to them). In spite of the fact that I spend hundreds of dollars here and shop here weekly, no one really cares about the kind of experience you have. Fortunately, there is now another Kroger nearby at Glenwood AND a Publix at Mason Yards so I don't have to put-up with the repeated bad experiences I've had. Likely won't do my shopping at this location anymore. The management doesn't seem to care or be able to hire anyone that gives a shit about the loyal customers that have been shopping here for some time. Won't be back.

Yelp
Stay away from Kroger on Caroline Street. It is almost all self checkout. You'll be lucky if you find a cashier that will ring up your groceries. I am not an employee of Kroger and don't want to ring up my groceries and bag them. They need to hire cashiers. I am 77 years old. I will go to Publix and Trader Joe's where they hire cashiers.

Greg C.

Yelp
Clean store with a good selection. However, customer service needs a lot of improvement. The employees seem to be preoccupied with socializing rather than work. An exchange inquiry , at the customer service desk, resulted in a curt and nasty response from a manager.

Yelp
I visited this location on a Saturday when it was pouring raining. I took an Uber to this location from my doctors office in Buckhead. I figured it would be a good choice because it was located on busy Edgewood Avenue in an even busier shopping center. I can't say that I got a chance to experience the store however because on this particular day my knee was hurting so bad and swollen that I knew I would not be able to walk around the store. Normally there are electronic carts for occasions such as this one. There were a couple of carts in the foyer however the batteries were dead. There was carts in the parking lot but no one was bothering to bring them inside the store. They focused on retrieving all the regular shopping carts for customers. I sat on a dead cart waiting for it to either charge or an associate to bring one in the store. I sat there for half an hour. No luck. Oh yeah one of the buggies wouldn't even move. I attempted to get a regular shopping cart and walk around the store. The pain was too great so I called another UBER and went to the Kroger on 3425 Cascade Road. I knew that store would have electronic buggies and I was correct. I wasted $20 going to this location. The store looked nice from the outside but again I will never know because I just wasn't able to walk around it.

Yelp
Ever night this week the Kroger in Atlanta, GA at 1160 Moreland Ave SE has been closing early and locking the doors 30min before their new handwritten closing hours posted on the doors. First, it was staff shortages. How is it possible to be staffed all day and then not for the last hour? Today it was "I only have one thing to say to you, COVID-19". Said by the security guard at the door at 8:55pm. The handwritten sign next to him saying closing at 9:00pm. *posted online closing at 10:00pm. Some of us work late and rely on our neighborhood grocery store to be open when they say they are so we can eat after work. You know how frustrating it is to go to bed hungry after a long days work? Please change your posted ours or fix this problem.

Yelp
I have had enough of Kroger and am VERY PROUD to say that as of today (11/8/22) I will no longer be doing ANY sort of business with that HORRIBLE corporation. I have been a great and loyal Kroger Pharmacy customer for over (15+) years. I have overlooked ALOT of crap they do, but for Kroger to continually make the same mistakes over and over and be disrespectful on top of that...is a no go for me. The Kroger Pharmacy employees ALWAYS screw up your medications, they're rude as h3ll and very lazy and they have absolutely NO regards for their customers. Kroger SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS ARE JUST AS INCOMING, LAZY AND RUDE AS THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE!! I have gone to pick up my prescriptions on many occasions, and these LAZY IMBECILES will continue working as if they don't see you standing there waiting to be helped..oh!! And DON'T ask them any questions pertaining to your health because they will either give you the WRONG advice that can be very detrimental to your health or they give you a nasty attitude because they don't want to answer your questions. Take my foolish advice and take your business and hard earned money elsewhere for better customer service, medicines and prices. Kroger is a TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Good riddance!!! I had been contemplating for some time now, about not doing anymore business with Kroger, and after careful thought I am ecstatic about leaving this garbage of a company. Kroger doesn't deserve my money or yours too. Good bye and good riddance...on to bigger and better things! No more Kroger..hip hop...HOORAY!!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Would not give a star......had to give to post! Shopped in this store on 12/7/2018. Wanted two items from the deli......garlic bologna and pepper jack cheese. I ALWAYS (used to........not any more!) ask for the meat and cheese to be cut on #2..... this is because of how I prepare the items!!! The woman cutting questioned me about that ( the first time I have ever been questioned about my choice and why???). I again told her #2 was good and that was exactly how I wanted it cut. Again she questioned me........ with a smart remark....... At that point I told her to forget the order and as I walked away she made another smart comment. I went to customer service and asked for a manager.....was asked why....said I had a complaint about the deli. Soooooooooooo after waiting for about 10 mins...... [ I later realized he had gone to the deli first even though I was waiting at the front by the registers. ] He plainly had spoken to her first.....was NOT even willing to understand my vexed feeling.......etc....etc...etc. Results.... 1. I will NOT shop at this location again. 2. The remaining items in my buggy......stayed the store. 3. One pound of meat....CUT ON #2....and one pound of cheese CUT ON #2 Well......that went home with me.....AT NO CHARGE. I cannot and will not: 1.ACCEPT RUDENESS OF ANY FORM FROM ANY STORE EMPLOYEES. 2. SPEND MY MONEY AT THE STORES WHERE THIS HAPPENS. 3. EVER SHOP AT THE STORE(S) AGAIN.

Yelp
This Kroger continues to just get better and better. They recently did an overdue and major renovation and added a few additions as well to the right side of this store when you walk through the front doors. First thing you notice is the addition of the Starbucks which I really appreciate because I have not run into any long lines or have had to wait for more than a few minutes. So, while waiting for a prescription to be filled from their pharmacy department, I took advantage of the Starbucks and ordered my usual grande cafe latte. And I was even given a sample of their white chocolate mocha frappucchino. How could I pass that up? -I think not. While sipping on my latte and waiting for less than the 15 minutes it took to pick up a prescription, I took the time to go investigate all of the new additions and updates & take a few pictures to share with y'all. :). -all the whilst enjoying the aromas coming from all of the different fresh food being prepared for lunch, -which changes on a daily basis. Anywhere from baked salmon, bbq ribs, fried chicken, lamb chops, Polish dogs, and the list goes on and on on. The freshly made hot food stand opens at 11am. Some other hot foods they include but are not limited to include : burritos, chicken, pork or beef bowls, every kind of chicken you can imagine, and one of my favorites, -Thin crust pizza with the choice of a variety of toppings. And over near the bakery section I was so pleased to find a brand new (just added last week) addition of a stand that includes two sides full of freshly made donuts, muffins, or bagels. You serve yourself & pay up front. - All made daily and soooo fresh. I had to taste for myself & went w/a blueberry doughnut topped with butterscotch and my notions were correct. Melt in your mouth donuts & 2 for $1.19. Nice. Bagels for $.69. Not bad. Oh, and back to the deli. They now offer a wide array of deli meats directly from Boar's Head. You can choose how thin or thick you want the slices and sample before making your choice(s). And I love the fact that they now offer deli sandwiches made to order. And let's not forget the fresh cheese stand, the sushi stand, and more. The wide selection of sushi is being prepared & packaged right there in front of you in the morning and throughout the afternoon.. These are not new additions but worthy of being mentioned. Very convenient if in a hurry for a quick bite or not. All in all, this Kroger is sufficient for all of your basic needs and more. :)

Tysheona M.

Yelp
This store is horrible, the self check out line closed in the busiest hours and the employee didn't even tell anyone. The line was down the aisle. No communication! Oh, and there were only two regular registers open. This is not okay!

Yelp
If you're looking for an efficient 'in and out' experience do not attempt this Kroger. Nestled in the heart of a Fuqua Development shopping center (Atlanta's finest!) this Kroger has the chaos you crave after a long day at work. If you like disappointment, you'll love it here when you realize you've been swimming through people only to be greeted with blank spaces where your favorite weekly items ought to reside. If you think the produce, wine, etc, selection is noteworthy... you need to visit a few more Krogers. As a seasoned Kroger denizen, my middle name is self checkout. However, when self checkout is slammed and fatigue is setting in, a lapse of judgment can lead to waiting in an actual checkout line. To the older women working register #2 Wednesday evening (May 2) around ~7:15pm... I appreciate you checking out the person in front of me while making pleasant conversation and then allowing me to place my items on the conveyer, operating under the false assumption that you would check me out next. Instead you straight up walked away without a word, no explanation... leaving me in a 'should I stay or should I go?' scenario. You reappeared briefly to mutter something about being back "in a moment" that's all you said. So I waited and tried to get a glimpse of this mysterious spill (?) that you needed to be involved in so badly. There were other employees present who could have handled a very normal, grocery store occurrence. Instead you let me gather up my groceries, load them back into my cart and proceed to move to self checkout.. without a word still and start all over again. Thanks for that. Just an example that sums up this location. I should have called this poor treatment out, but honestly? At that point the only thing on my mind was escape. I know grocery stores in cities generally are underwhelming but come on now.

Yelp
I'm completely done with this pharmacy. For starters, the store itself is getting sketchy as hell month by month. Maybe this is why the pharmacy workers are so mean & uncaring. If they don't have something in stock, they don't give a s*%!. If the prices change wildly on a prescription, they claim ignorance and tell you "that's too bad." They don't try and solve your problems, offer solutions, or communicate. They literally do not care, despite that I've given them thousands of dollars over 2+ years. My final straw: On Monday, I dropped off a prescription for a motion patch that I need for an upcoming vacation. I was told it would be ready that day. FOUR days later I stop by to pick it up and am told that "oops it's out of stock." I ask if they can call another Kroger to fill it, and they say "the system" will not allow them to do that. So, I call the Target Pharmacy in the same shopping center and they take total care of me within 10 minutes. I'm moving all my prescriptions to Target. Done. With. Kroger.

Jesse P.

Yelp
The parking lot is always full of addicts with some "story" why they need money. If you get them food, don't expect a thank you, they want straight cash. I live next to this Kroger and have tried to make it work. I just don't have the heart to act like the addicts don't exist but I don't have the budget to pay the 5$ addict toll every visit.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
I came there at 11:35 tonight and the door was shut and the guy wouldn't let us in. The sign says they are open till 12!! Please get better staff that don't close early.

Yelp
This is the most problematic Kroger in any in-town neighborhood, seems to me. While it has a pretty good selection of products, customer service and ease of checkout are abysmal. I primarily use the self-checkout stations because I don't want to be held hostage to surly and dilatory employees who love nothing better than to make you wait when they think you are in a hurry. Yet every time I try to check out myself there is a delay, especially since each error (and there are many) with the machines requires someone to actually appear and touch the screen to clear the error. Using coupons? WAIT. Buying alcohol? WAIT. Machine won't scan? WAIT. It's hurry up and wait here. The place is way too small to accommodate the number of people that are in the store at any given time. It is claustrophobic and unpleasant. Perhaps when the New Murder Kroger on Ponce opens, it will thin out some of the overcrowding here. I go here when I do only because it is the closest Kroger to my home by a long shot. Whenever possible, I go elsewhere because it's a lot of extra work to shop here.

Yelp
This is my favorite grocery store. It's laid out so well and they make changes and additions in a way that makes a shopper curious instead of furious (rhyming not on purpose.) Kroger has also stepped up its fresh vegetable and fruit game, so I come here about twice a week to replenish my fresh fruits and vegetables. I also love their organic section. I appreciate that organic foods have their own section, if only because they tend to get hidden in other stores that mix everything together. And they keep adding new items to the organic section which I also appreciate. If you're into holiday stuff, this Kroger goes overboard. During one Valentine's season it looked like Cupid had puked all over the store. It was a bit much. But you won't forget a holiday if you shop here because they won't let you. I sometimes pick up odd things here like pantyhose. I don't want to go to Target for one item, so I'll check Kroger, and even if they don't have exactly what I'm looking for, they'll have something I can use. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. I have not had a negative encounter with any employee. They are open 24 hours a day. (God bless America and our need for instant gratification!) It's too bad this Kroger is in the Edgewood shopping center where parking is a risk for both drivers and pedestrians, or I would have given it five stars. The parking situation is the only thing I don't like about this Kroger. In summary, I love this Kroger; they really make shopping a pleasure (which is not their slogan). Yelp 100 #9 Tip: Don't bother going on Sunday night - nothing is left. The few times I've tried, it looks like a supermarket from The Walking Dead. Tip: Saturday night/early morning is a great time to shop. They are stocking up for the Sunday rush and there is a lot of stock. Don't wear heels though - I learned this the hard way.

Yelp
If you want to be thoroughly pissed off use self check out! The older woman with bangs working forced me and my family to go to a check out lane after telling us we had "too many groceries" to use self check out. It was not a 15 items or less lane, there was no line, it was 3 hours til close. This Kroger easily makes 300+$ off of my family a week and we will not return here. We were told there was a "limit" for self check out even though I use self checkout every single week. If you don't want to do your job don't have one. Insanely unimpressed.

Yelp
Literally the rudest people ever and they have the most disgusting/most disturbing produce section! It's almost just as horrible as the Walmart on Gresham rd! 3 different times I went here no lemons. That's number one and I went different weeks. Then all 3 times I went there were literally a family of GNATS just sitting on app of the onions and bags of potatoes and tomatoes like are you kidding me?! Someone should be keeping up with things like that. There were an army of gnats! Just laying on the produce, not flying around! And don't even get me started on the employees they are just way past rude, it's really sad actually

Yelp
This Kroger has the worst deli I have ever been to. I went there today and asked for my ham paper thin and ever roast chicken just regular sandwich sliced. I walked away for a few minutes to look at the cheese section and when I walked back, my ham was already sliced... I picked it up and said to the lady " I asked for paper thin"... it was THIcK!! She says "well you walked away". Come on! Paper thin is thin.. anyways I said just give me some chicken since I didn't think that she could screw that up but believe it or not, she got me! My husband just pulled out the chicken for a sandwich and said why is this chicken so thick? This is horrible!! I will be going to Publix from now on for my deli meats.. Quite ridiculous that you can't get decent sliced meat from your girls who's only job is to slice meat.

Yelp
Why do I end up bagging my own groceries almost everytime I go in there? I was so busy doing that, that I didn't notice the cashier named Kaelyn didn't scan my rewards coupons for two free items! I got all the way home and looked at my receipt, and sure enough. This store is in a great, but high traffic area, and needs to be better staffed.

Yelp
Markita shouldn't be at work today. We walked in got a bottle of wine and went to her because she had the shorter line. Just to be greeted with a very rude "id and Kroger plus card," so I said hello!!!!....only to receive a repeated dry response. Customer service is key, and if today is your off day, call out!!!! The visitors didn't ask for you to be here!!

Yelp
so Kroger actually annoys me. Some stores are dreadful and if you live in a place like I do that the store is crap you have to wait until your near a good one to visit. So for this reason its not my favourite company. This store however is decent and the fresh organic produce is good. Some times its off the rails expensive like the guy on here who paid $9.00 for a cabbage. I'm Irish, that's bloody criminal. $9 for a cabbage???????? we eat so many of them as they are so cheap in Ireland. So watch the prices. Now if only Kroger would up their game and make all stores equal.

Yelp
I mean . . . I semi-recently discovered that I am more of a Publix girl than a Kroger girl. Howeva . . . I love this Kroger. Let me count the ways: a) saved me from a near disastrous pre-Thanksgiving baking experience by rescuing me - they carried a Key Ingredient (ancho chile pepper, if you were wondering) that my dear Publix did not carry. b) It's huge, it's bright, and it's clean! And - in a great location - hit up the bookstore and Target (um. . .and Sole: http://www.yelp.com/biz/hpgxUwaeRAMEObYSXmw7Pg#hrid:oGrIBDrK6pLL1m7y_l7DYg) while you're there! c) there's a hot food bar. It looks tastewise, maybe a 3/5, but great to pick up something if you need it quick d) and there's a Starbucks inside e) nice meat/deli counter. . . with samples! And, to top it off, this has got to be a hot spot to pick up girls/guys for the cool kids. Being in between EAV and L5P, there's always a slew of hip peeps searching for their spaghetti sauces and vegetable oil and organic hot sauce. If in the market, I would take an extra stroll or two around the aisles here. . .

Yelp
Why do people that don't know what they're doing go through the self checkout lines? Why is the damn parking lot the biggest clusterf--k of all time? Why do I always have to carry around a damn bonus card? Why do I always get cut in line by some rude smacktard? God I hate this place: the people, the aisles, the smell. They have decent beer and wine but the people drive me crazy as hell!
google avatar

Isabel S.

Yelp
This Kroger is alright, they are clean and nice to the customers. It's medium sized compared to the one in dunwoody, but they still manage to have a good selection of items. They have an aisle of organic foods, a deli, pharmacy, and a Starbucks!

Yelp
ok, it really hurts me to write this review. I have been very faithful to this particular Kroger for over 4 years now. I've mastered parking here, this is the worst Kroger for parking. I've mastered getting in the fastest lanes for a quick and easy exit. I've mastered the customer service line. I've mastered the layout, even after the recent renovations. yes. they have a great beer selection. a good wine selection. yes. they have a sufficient organic food selection. I know this is a very busy and over populated Kroger. no one wants to go to murder Kroger (ponce) so they come over here. however, i am so tired that after everyone gets their food stamps, there is not enough stock of the food I want. Don't let Kroger have a special on chicken breasts, they will all be taken that very same day. who ever orders the freaking food for this store needs to be fired. they know this Kroger is one that is well frequented- very busy. so please choose your orders sufficiently. every time I come here for meat, they don't have anymore because there is a current special, I have to drive my ass down further on moreland to the other Kroger and sure enough-they never disappoint me. so, edgewood Kroger, you sir, have just lost my business!

Yelp
This is my favorite Kroger in the Metro Atlanta area. I love the separate section they have for health food so you don't have to go up and down every aisle looking for Vegan/Vegetarian options. They have a good selection of dairy and meat alternatives and a decent selection of organic produce. The parking lot can be hell if you go during the after work rush but once inside shopping is a breeze and I'm usually right out.

Yelp
Website says pharmacy is open at 9am. I get there and they tell me they aren't open until 10.

Yelp
Didn't know this Kroger existed but it helped in a pinch. It's a fairly decent sized Kroger and i've rarely walked into a Kroger, turned to the left, then right, and said "wow" at the sheer size. There's a wall of produce to the left, where I picked up one of the sweetest tasting pineapples i'd had in a while. To the left were aisles and aisles to go up and down. In fairness, I really came in simply for the pineapple and yogurt, but I was happy to see the multiple self check outs (I counted at least 8) and the ease at which I got in and out....which included parking! Zero problems with t his store and i'm sure i'll be back before long

Yelp
I'm not necessarily a huge Kroger fan, but I do frequent this location. I like to go early before the crowds roll in because parking and traffic can be a total nightmare. The reason I come here is that I tend to find fresh looking fruits and vegetables at this location. Most importantly though, I like the organic section of the store. Usually this Kroger is well stocked if you visit at the right time of day. I also like that the Self Check Out area tends to be open and quick. Service is ok...no major complaints. Overall, I like the convenience of the Edgewood retail district. However, I repeat...beat the crowds and your experience will be markedly better.

Yelp
The guys in the fish department are fucking awesome. Gentleman and scholars. They handle your meat with the love and care of a mother goat caressing her newborn calf.

Yelp
You'll find me here most Saturday or Sunday mornings before 5 or 6 AM, stepping over boxes and around people stocking the shelves. Employees are nice, grocery selection is pretty decent and getting better, cruelty-free section is expansive. It gets a little more hectic and thus unpleasant during hours when normal people shop, but still not bad. Good thing it's in a safe neighborhood, because the security guards often are out side with their noses in their smart-phones. Whatever, can't blame them.

Yelp
I can always get in and out of this Kroger easily, which is awesome. They have tons of parking spaces. The lines always move pretty fast and their employees are doing a great job. They have a nice organic/veggie friendly section. It is a popular Kroger though, I find the things I want in that area have a 50/50 chance of being sold out.

Yelp
This only think decent about this store is the Starbucks inside it. The produce Dept is THE worst I have ever seen from coast to coast. Sprouts growing on potatoes, Green toxic potatoes, Wilted items, insufficient quantity of certain items, Bruised fruits. For a store that is in city center, it is not doing its job! The only reason people buy here is there are no other choices. Sad that the store manager or someone from corporate is not reading these reviews...I will know if I get a response...

Yelp
This store has been a mixed blessing. It's in a dense shopping center with plenty of retail available, but the management of this store is either oblivious or simply apathetic to customer problems. The bad parking design choices during the building of this complex haven't helped. (There is 2-level parking available, but the second level should have been built for the Kroger, not the Target.) The only saving grace of this review -- why it's not 1-star -- is the pharmacy department, which is absolutely *outstanding*. They are on the ball and have always been fast, responsive, and (almost disturbingly) friendly. For the rest of this text, let me share a letter I gave to the pharmacy department, after years of getting lip service from the general management of the store. While it did trigger a response from the corporate office, the store's GM has not done anything to address these concerns. I will not go into this store anymore if I can, at all, avoid it. ===== August 24, 2015 Dear pharmacy staff of Kroger #461 Caroline Street, Thank you for your great work. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to come to this location any longer, as I no longer feel safe entering the retail store. Your store's management has decided repeatedly that customers' (and employees') safety is of no concern to them. Regularly, the front sidewalks are crowded out by various products (spring plantings are the worst), forcing patrons to walk through vehicular traffic to get into and out of the front doors, and causing foot traffic jams around the exit doors. In fact, just yesterday, a line of chained-up bascarts blocked fully half of the pedestrian sidewalk, with no building permits, emergency vehicles, caution tape, or guide signs explaining why. I was told by a member of management that some sort of resurfacing was going to happen soon, but that sort of thing does require (by law) caution signs or indications to prevent customer injury. These intentional occlusions of frontage walking space are patently illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and may well be illegal under local fire code ordinances. I have brought these issues to the attention of store management on many occasions, and have been summarily dismissed every time. I have also been ignored by regional management, when they have been in the store to observe operations. Further, I have sustained multiple minor injuries thanks to blockage of walking space, being forced to walk into traffic, bascarts locking up in the brickface paving,* and other issues which I've mentioned to management only to be ignored. I'm a very accepting person by letting these injuries go; many others would certainly have made a much bigger fuss after all the bruises and bumps I've sustained here. All this leads me to fear how many other safety violations are lurking in this retail store. (* Yes, I'm aware that the brickface paving was the development company's design choice. Brickface paving is never a good choice for a grocery, as it mercilessly rattles bascarts and the products in them, and it should ideally should be replaced by asphalt.) If I actually had the stamina to do so, I'd detail all my experiences to corporate C-level management. However, given the apathy endemic to this store's management team, at this time it's easier for me to choose an alternative and leave the Caroline Street complex behind. Maybe, by putting this bug in your ear, someone will finally pay attention. Most importantly: None of this reflects badly on the pharmacy staff. You've been professional and completely aware of problems, and you've been honest to my husband and me when problems arise. You've always fixed those problems with no hassle, too. Over the past few years you've become the pharmacy I always wanted, and I'm going to miss you.

Yelp
Oh boy, the parking! That is one of the main reasons why I hate going to this Kroger. Edgewood Retail District is CRAZY on the weekend. Stay away if you can. Avoid the madness! I am usually stopping by multiple places in the district if I am here. I find it better to park at Target or elsewhere and then walk to Kroger. The selection of items is fine. No issues with purchases.

Yelp
I'm pretty surprised by the length of some of the reviews for this Kroger. What is there to say? In my experience, the store is never out of stock of what I'm looking for, the pharmacists and pharm techs are nice and helpful, there are way more lower-cost store brand items compared to other grocery stores, and they take rain checks for out-of-stock sales items, for crying out loud. The only thing I can see people complaining about is the fact that parking is nonexistent on weekends, but it's just as easy to avoid these high traffic times and/or stop caring about getting a "good spot" and go on with your day.

Yelp
How is this store even open? Every time I inquire about an item, some employee gives me a BS excuse as to why it's out of stock. I'm so sick and tired of this Kroger- I literally don't know what to do at this point. This city is running out of options in terms of a decent Kroger. Smh

Yelp
You guys should be shut down not checking I.d. when using a credit or debit card. This store is unprofessional & needs to be looked at maybe even closed down because people have been using other peoples information here and shopping with their credit card and employees won't do anything for you. Do not shop here. Might as well let a kid buy beer and a pack of cigarettes. So dumb.

Yelp
OMG....we had "disco Kroger" (buckhead), "shoot 'em up Kroger" (Ponce near City Hall east), "Vaseline Valley Kroger" (Ansley), I nominate this ones as "Couldn't give a fuck Kroger" although several other catchier shorter names would be appropriate. Was called by AMEX today informed that (no where near there today) charges had been noted at Target (never use AMEX there get my 5% off with Target Visa!!....way to go AMEX on noticing pattrrn change...but their rep called from India so was afraid that was a scam too...grand expensive AMEX calling frkm Indua...sigh) and several charges had been put through at Kroger. I do NOT yet have proof it was at this Kroger but betting so since righg next to Target. Called Target and they got the last five of my credit card number and pulled up video of the guy immediately. Called Kroger and the first person I spoke with probably wouldn't jnderstand the difference between produce and product. The "manager" was equall useless stating therd was nothing to be done. That they would cooperate in trying to get video for the police. So can't look it up to keep an eye out gor him....AND this Kroger put the charges through (both over 100$ making in AMEX's problem). They sure as HELL make me show my ID for purchases that large so have to wonder if someone there in on it. Or again at whatever Kroger it happened. The rest of my comments are clearly for this store without question. Despite other reviews there is NOT adequate parking in this entire shopping (and especially not the Kroger or Office Depot) center and traffic flow throughout looks like it was designed by the Atlanta School Board. Idiots out of their cars will walk right in front of traffic at any spot they choose and brazenly so. Car doors are dinged and forget large numbers of people putting carts where they belong. As to customer service. Forget it. Most cashiers are too busy chatting with each other to even speak to customers. If I go there I endure the surly crap and say "Thanks for being helpful and allowing me in your store today. ..havd a good day!" I don't think they get it as they usually say you're welcome. As for help finding something or at customer service desk and they are equally good at screwing up. There is either too much turnover or the local job pool too stupid to learn where things are. It is true the store is open 24 hours but aren't all of them. And while the neighborhood is slowly improving with new housing being built (down side there will be more traffic clearly!!!) I don't want to be in this area at midnight without my gun (double homicide down in little five not too long ago...bet it was over whose pants looked better hanging lower in whose ass or whose purple hair and body odor were stronger). Seriously much of this is satire based on reality. If it is 9 pm and driving by and need something....good place to stop. If you love Kroger then go to another. Oddly "shoot em up Kroger"....where I have seen arrests many times over years is more friendly (of course that area cleaning up a good bit too) by far. And Northlake beats them all. Short of it is that this store doesn't, in any iteration of delusion, deserve 4-5 stars. And who's the crazy chick determined to be queen here? We know they have bottled water. Why doesn't yelp remove such tripe? Oh and there is no way in hell I'd eat from their deli....Kirkwood sushi? Me thinks not. Two stars cause I can park in one spot and run errands at Kroger and Target and Kroger open 24 hours. Park in Targeg lot....less like to have your car damaged. No other stars deserved unless you like the general mileau.

Yelp
How do you know you're officially in the dirty Souf... 1 CANNED FRUITS CANNED FISH DRIED FRUIT PORK & BEANS INSTANT POTATOES CANNED VEGETABLES Yep, that was the sign over aisle one at this here Kroger, which I should add is quite possibly the biggest market I have ever seen. This place was like a Costco! Karayzee! Anyhoo, they seem to have everything here including aisle end caps with canned corn and canned peas and they sell pig's feet. Oh yes, sweet pig's feet. What? The wine section is fantabulous here and they even sell wine bottle openers so you can take your wine bottle back to your hotel room and have at it. Oh, is that just me? Kroger. Yeah.

Yelp
Aweful. Every time I have to bag my own groceries, most employees, specifically the managers, are rude. Be mindful, plenty of competition around this area now and they are NOT the leading grocery store location anymore. Lost my business today and it seems to be a trend for this location! Schedule to the needs of the business!

Yelp
When they first announced your existence, we in the know immediately declared you "Crackhead Kroger." A Kroger in Edgewood? Definitely Crackhead Kroger. How could it be anything but? And oh, did the hipsters wail and gnash their teeth at the audacity, the AUDACITY, of putting big boxes adjacent to the ground zero of grunge. But when you were completed and with a deft hand borne of hundreds of similar Sembler-style Stepford developments, the Powers That Be had succeeded in bringing a slice of the 'burbs to downtown. And the hipster kids loved it. No longer forced to trek to the Kroghetto down Moreland, (poor, poor, lamented Kroghetto, I still haven't forgotten you) or parting ways with their paycheck to even sniff The Whole Foods wares, the former opposition embraced you, Edgewood Kroger, as one of their own. So what if my cell phone never seems to work in your aisles and so what if your parking lot is criminally small, the kids with the shaggy 'dos and the skinny jeans dig you. So, with the power vested in me by the State of Georgia and the good folks at yelp.com, I dub thee "Emo Kroger." What therefore hath yelp put forth, let no man tear asunder.

Yelp
My husband and i shop frequently at this location. The only "complaint" we have is waiting for the electric cart as my husband cannot walk any distance without pain. I understand that a few people take the carts home or sometimes the wait itself is tiring, as it has been an hour before we got a cart a couple of times in the past. The female security always looks out and gets one for us whenever she can. As far as the employees we've had no problem with except for one that was a little too "friendly" with hubby but i took care of that and no more problems since.

Yelp
I can't believe I'm going to write the following sentence, there isn't one ounce of hyperbole here. The cashier was resting her gunt on the scale while she was scanning my items and I got charged $13.51 for an onion. The sad part was she didn't even notice. If I didn't laugh I'd cry. And every time the thought of getting groceries at the only grocery store anywhere near my house, I want to cry.
