"Gluten-free matzo is a relatively recent innovation; instead of flour and water, it’s an amalgam of various potato byproducts and binders. The result is surprisingly very good." - Rebecca Flint Marx

Do not purchase Kroger gift cards. Their system locks up and you are unable to use them for gas. I drove 30 minutes to shop and fill up. Worthless to a place that is unable to honor expectations. Really??? Was told to call 1800 number which is closed. Done with Kroger and I just started back shopping there

They didn’t have a single gallon or half gallon of any type of milk at 10:30 in the morning. And I’m always stuck waiting 10+ minutes for somebody to come to the meat counter, never a soul working back there, which I get it if it’s once or twice but it’s every single time I’m in there each week.

Wouldn’t let me use a coupon for diapers because it was a pampers coupon on my phone. Even though I selected Kroger from the list they provided. It was a significant coupon and now i can’t use it anywhere else. I saved this coupon for this particular trip as i needed the diapers badly. Very disappointed because now I'm out the $30.

Holly has been checking me out at Kroger forever. She is so nice and fun. I do know for a fact that she is pleasant to EVERYBODY!

Google
Clean and organized. It's not the cheapest (like Aldi's or Walmart), but it isn't the most expensive (like Publix). It's almost always very busy and can be difficult to find a close parking spot.

I needed a money order for my rent and because I work late and don’t have the time to stop during my work day to get one, Conner with the red vest tells me that the money order machine is shut down. He said, he can do but he’s not we close that at 10!!! I just knew it stayed open until the store closed!!! Thanks a lot Kroger I love you for this.

Google
Holly is extremely rude and obviously blatantly racist and the fact they still have her hired is disgusting. This is not the energy of the kroger we all have grown up to love.

Pretty nice place but I do feel it's pricey. The Starbucks employees are super friendly and have good service.

Yelp
This store has racist employees. My wife, child, and I were discriminated against and treated badly by the woman who works at the self-checkout near the door. One day, when the store was nearly empty, we were the only ones at the checkout. Despite being just a few feet away and clearly seeing us, the woman ignored us multiple times. My wife eventually approached her for help, but she dismissed her. As we were leaving, she stopped us and accused us of stealing a piece of fruit. This fruit was from a stand labeled "Free for Kids." We explained this to her, but she replied, "You folks have taken more than enough," and took the fruit from our 2-year-old child's hand. One pear. We were shocked and surprised. It became clear that her behavior was because we were not speaking English among ourselves. I reported this incident to Dillon, but all I received was a customer service response thanking me for contacting them and saying they would look into it. That's it. This place does not care about its customers and hires racist individuals. Be careful if you are a minority, a person of color, or speak more than one language. Disgusting and utterly disturbing. Shame on you.

Yelp
The selection here is terrible. Layout terrible. It looks like they're constantly stocking the shelves from nothing. This place is the bane of my existence.

Yelp
Clean establishment and very organized. But the big kicker here is that I've came here multiple times for customer service help and I've stood at the counter for almost 30 mins both times and finally someone showed up. She was helpful in helping me but did not look happy to help. I like this shopping center and the prices are great but I wish the employees were a little more willing to help. Update: Hannah at the register was so happy and helpful to check us out after we got done shopping.

Yelp
Need a custom cake? Carolyn the cake decorator does wonders! WOW! She recommended the moist yellow cake, and I asked for sprinkles all over. Her handwriting on top was beautifully fancy. We picked it up on a Sunday, and my daughter and friends devoured the whole cake that night. Kroger, hold tight to that Carolyn. The bakery lady at pickup was darling as well (sorry I forgot her name). P.S. Carolyn was creating beautiful icing flowers when I walked up to order so keep that in mind too.

Yelp
On my journey through nostalgic reviews through college, I land on Kroger next. For about half of my college career this was the grocery closest to me. So I frequented it quite often. Most recently we came to a football game a few years back and got some supplies here. But other than that, it has been a while since I have come here. So I will tell this review from what I remember. It was always an easy check out process. I don't ever remember having to wait terribly long for that. Which is a big thing to me. The selection was always good but not overly exceptional. The store itself is clean with a lot of parking. It really served the purpose that I needed it for. But nothing really stands out. So this location is A-ok overall.

Yelp
I have shopped at the Dean Road Store off and on for sometime and I have always been satisfied with the quality of the food and the costs. I especially appreciate the friendly cashiers on the checkout lines. I am sharing this information because I use to shop at Walmart in Auburn, which is a little closer to where I live in Tuskege, Alabama. Walmart has decided to close it's teller checkout lines in favor of self service lines. I prefer check-out in a line with a friendly human teller and I don't mind waiting in line to be served by a friendly face. I am not interested in learning how to do self checkout, which is why I have switched my grocery shopping from Walmart to Kroger completely. I hope that you will keep the friendly cashiers and the human interaction that I like so well. Curtis Rayborn. (rayboca@hotmail.com)

Yelp
This Kroger has the best cookie cake I have ever had in my entire life. When you get the late night munchies, have no fear because you can go get a cookie cake at 2AM because this Kroger is 24/7, BABY!!! 14/10 recommend. Will be back. Weekly. Send help.

Yelp
Here is the right answer when a customer asks for the Kroger employee to enter her alt ID during a pandemic instead of the customer putting her hand inside the grimy key pad holder: "of course, please tell me your number." Today not only did the checker point me to the keypad and look exasperated when I asked again for her to enter my number, the same thing happened at the customer service desk. Step up the service Kroger. I come to you over Publix but it's getting harder.

Yelp
I have to step in and defend my local Kroger a little bit. I like this store. Maybe just because it is the same chain as King Soopers in Colorado and I get homesick, but I find Kroger to be a comforting place to shop. On the negative side: -The aisles ARE tiny and ridiculous and whoever designed the entryway should be shot. I can't think of a single time I've entered this Kroger that I haven't nearly been run over by someone with a cart (buggy). It's dangerous. -Also, the store doesn't EVER seem to be stocked well. There are constantly shelves that are empty, especially when game weekends are approaching. It's extremely frustrating. -Also, decent produce seems to be missing a lot of the time in this store. -Prices on some things are RIDICULOUSLY high. However, on the plus side: -They have a little organic produce section that is decent. -They also have a Natural Foods aisle which I greatly appreciate. They are the only store in Auburn (that I have found anyway) that sells certain veg-friendly products that I like to buy. Between Kroger and the very few health-food stores in Auburn, I can make do. The woman in charge of stocking this section will listen to you when you make suggestions... which is refreshing (or maybe she's just pretending to listen) -They also have a new sushi bar which I'm sure is pretty standard grocery-store-quality sushi. -This store has alot of the same products as Bruno's, but is not nearly as overpriced. -The dairy section moos. I might be the only one over the age of 5 who enjoys this... but oh well.

Yelp
This is the worst Kroger on earth! The isles are tiny, the shelves are crowded and unorganized, and you can never find anyone who works there to help you find anything. On top of that, when I got to the register with a full buggy of groceries, the check-out girl first scans all my items, then tells me their credit system has been down all day and they can't accept a credit or debit card. Seems like they should have told me this when I first walked through the door, or at least made an anouncement over the intercom.

Yelp
Kroger is one of the worst grocery chains in america. They have a consistent pattern of false advertising in terms of their marked prices where you see one price and you get to the register and it ends up being more, sometimes A LOT more. Gnerally this happens to me with at least 1 or 2 items in my cart per visit, but the last time I went in was the worst its ever been. I had a number of items that were marked on sale and having experienced this a lot I always check the tags carefully to make sure the item isn't misplaced, but when I got to the register nearly ALL of the items in my cart were ringing up higher than the advertised price. I spoke with someone and they said that those prices haven't taken effect and wouldn't until 7 AM that morning. I am sorry but this is not acceptable. As far as I am concerned, if an item has a price on or near it, that is the price I should pay at the register. Period. Until this this practice changes, I will not be going back to Kroger.

Yelp
I went to this Kroger to get lunch with some friends while we were in town for an event (we were on kind of a tight schedule). One of us ordered a deli sandwich, and the person who made it seemed to be new and was extremely slow (I sympathize, but it was not ideal staffing for a Saturday afternoon). It took 10 or 15 minutes and two more employees to get one sandwich made, then when that one was done the employees scattered and started tending to other customers without asking if we were finished ordering, and they ignored us when we tried to catch their attention and say, "Hey, we were in line first." We didn't have time to wait around, so the rest of us ended up getting premade chicken sandwiches from the hot food display, and ALL of us except the one who got the deli sandwich ended up ill within 24 hours, which has never happened to me before at Kroger (and was what made me decide to leave a review). I was really disappointed in my experience at this one.

Yelp
I found the food was excellent and most of the staff extremely friendly. A few in the produce department had to realize that if the customer is asking for something, "I don't know" is not the answer that they should give. They need to be trained to ask those in charge would do know or explain that time no one is available to give more help and they are sorry that that is the situation.

Yelp
I love this Kroger! I don't know why people are hating on it so much in these reviews because it's the classic Auburn Kroger! Great food, great employees, great experience! I love the employees! Especially the great employee, DeShawn! He bags my groceries every time and he should get a raise for always being so nice, friendly, and great at his job! 5 stars!

Yelp
I am not picky about grocery stores or anything, but this place is just horrible. Produce is dried up, prices suck and the appearance of the store is just in bad shape.

Hope K.

Yelp
My check out clerk Susan was extremely friendly, patient, and sweet to my children and me. The other personnel were friendly and professional as well.

Kendall C.

Yelp
Terrible grocery store. Crowded and understaffed. I actually had to bag my own groceries while employees just watched. This is a sorry excuse for an establishment.
