I was in Kroger in Cold Spring, KY on Aug 11, 2025 to order balloons for a birthday party being held the next day. Harley was very friendly and helpful. She assisted me with color selections and helped me decide on the best balloons based upon the party decor. The next day, Harley had the balloons ready and wrapped when I came to pick them up at the designated time. Much appreciated!

Huge shout out to the deli for knocking out a last minute platter order! I placed the order the day before I needed it and the only time available to pick up was 6 pm...the time my party was starting in Florence! So I called this morning around 10:30 and spoke to the deli manager, asking if it would be a huge inconvenience to have it done by 2 pm. He said absolutely, they could have it done by then! Such a lifesaver and great quality on these sandwich platters!

I live out of state but use this Kroger when visiting family. Over the years it seems that this location consistently has employees with poor customer service and who are grumbling about their jobs while working. I will give kudos to the woman in floral who helped me with balloons in April. She was friendly and knowledgeable.

My teen and I shopped at this location and filled the cart including heavy items underneath. While placing busily placing items on the belt, the cashier asks if we "Can help her bag the groceries?" 🤯 1st, if I wanted to bag I would be in the U Scan line, 2nd-I'm still unloading the full cart, 3rd-She is getting PAID to do it. Unbelievable!

I visited this location recently (I usually patronize the 5 Mile location In Anderson) and I was overall pretty satisfied except for the young girl bagging my items. She did a good job, but she was on her phone, eating chips, and drinking a soda. Two issues for me - 1. management is teaching these young kids really bad work habits. 2. She eating chips and handling my items. Disgusting. I would strongly suggest that the managers show some leadership and set some standards for their employees.

3rd time in 3 days that either my wife or I have tried to get lunch meat from the deli. 3rd time we’ve walked out with nothing because they’re understaffed and the people working don’t have the ability to multitask. Every other Kroger I have went to will take multiple orders if busy, then you can come back to get your order after shopping. Apparently that is too much for this location.

I've been shopping at this Kroger weekly, for over 15 years. Today, at the checkout, I was carded for my alcohol purchase for the first time. I am obviously old enough to purchase alcohol. I refuse to be treated like a criminal for the misdeeds of others. I'll never shop at this Kroger or any other Kroger, again. Customer loyalty means absolutely nothing to Kroger.

I want to take a moment to recognize an outstanding employee at Kroger who often goes unnoticed but consistently goes above and beyond to ensure customers have a seamless shopping experience. Anthony is one of those unsung heroes, quietly doing the essential work that often gets overlooked—he is the person outside, making sure that there are always carts available for customers to use. While Anthony may not be on the front lines as a cashier or a manager, his impact is felt by everyone who walks into the store. His dedication is evident in the way he tirelessly pushes carts back inside, no matter the weather or the time of day. It's easy to overlook the importance of this task, but having a ready supply of carts available is a crucial part of the shopping experience, and Anthony handles it with remarkable consistency and care. What truly stands out about Anthony is his unwavering commitment to his work, even though it often goes unnoticed. He doesn’t seek recognition, yet his efforts never go unappreciated by customers who are able to grab a cart without a second thought. He is a true example of work ethic and dedication. His quiet, behind-the-scenes role is a reminder of the importance of every position in making a business run smoothly. Anthony’s hard work and positive attitude inspire me, and I believe he truly exemplifies the spirit of teamwork and dedication that Kroger stands for. He’s a true asset to the team, and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves!

Yelp
Maybe weird to give 4 stars to a grocery store, but this place is HUUUUGE and the prices are amazing. Seems like there are alway specials going on for stuff. I love coming here when I'm visiting. The staff is always super friendly and helpful!

Yelp
The store itself is fine, but the problem is the rude employees they have. just seeing how you allow your employees to talk to customers/ other employees is a joke. wish I could give negative stars

Yelp
I have written 5 books on customer service and I am Yelp Elite. Those who have read my books or my post know that I will generally lean to the positive and give companies the benefit of doubt. This post will be an exception. I am a regular Kroger shopper and today I was picking up a couple of items to make cole slaw. (See Picture). On my was out the wheels locked up on my cart and a siren went off. I thought my cart was defective and did not think the siren was meant for me. Here I am forcing the cart to move and it's making all kinds of noise. A Kroger lady who is just doing her job, starts yelling at me to stop. It was quite a scene and everyone stopped and was looking at me. I wait for Kroger lady to get to me and she tells me this is Kroger's new anti theft system. She scanned my bag of cole slaw and Marzetti dressing, hit a button on her device and the wheels on my cart were released. I had to ask the lady why the system thought I was stealing cole slaw as I handed her the receipt. She tells me this system messes up a lot? I then asked her if she would make an announcement to all those standing around that I am not a thief! She looked at me like a deer looking into headlights. One of my chapters in book 3 states "Don't do Dumb Things" Putting in a system that does not work well that accuses your loyal customers of stealing...Is a Dumb Thing" It is hard to recover well when you or a company do dumb things.

Yelp
The lady who had to help me in self checkout tonight on October 3rd was incredibly rude. Wish they would get a new worker in there

Yelp
This Kroger has the scan, bag, go feature, which makes it A LOT easier to get in and out of the store -- especially on a Sunday afternoon, because it allows you to scan your items and bag them while you're shopping. The scanner also keeps a running total of how much you've spent so far, which is particularly wonderful, if you're on a tight budget and have to keep it under a certain dollar amount.

Yelp
I am a Kroger shopper 100% but this is honestly one of the worst Kroger's I have ever been to and unfortunately it is the one closest to my house. Their produce often sucks and they do not have the olive bar or many selections of cheeses in the deli and the store is completely outdated. Other than that it is just pretty small and the pharmacy is always backed up. Might even be worth driving further to the Kroger in Newport to avoid this one.

Yelp
This is my favorite Kroger! I could go to a different one but this one is my favorite. It's never to busy where you feel like you can't browse and take your time, the staff is very nice and helpful, and they always have a huge selection. The new kroger in Independence is just to big and hard to navigate. This Kroger is 100% the best kroger closest to me.

Yelp
We've never bought any groceries from here but they have a Starbucks which is great. Very conveniently located in the same complex as Kohl's, Home Depot etc and just 2-3 mins off 27. There are a couple of restaurants in the same complex as well.

Yelp
I loathe that this Kroger is the closest to me. It's terrible. It NEVER has any fresh organic produce. The organic section is the smallest I have ever seen, and when they actually do have organic produce you pay $5 for blueberries. It's insanity. They also have a refrigerator for the brand fresh pet in the animal food section...they last two times I have gone the entire refrigerator is empty of fresh pet products. And this was three months apart.

Yelp
The Kroger pick up here is horrible. They gave me yogurt that was expired over a month and a bag of Gala Apples they had at least three rotten apples, one so rotten that is was mush and split in half. They also don't bring out everything in a bag. Some of it is just laying in the tubs. I won't go here again. I normally use Walmart grocery pickup which is excellent and they don't charge you.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Kroger's butcher section.. The butchers on staff are usually helpful and can often give you good tips on cooking your meat. It's Kroger's also has a nice little organic section which comes in handy because the wife is Palio. It is always a clean store and just has a good feel to it. I've never bought Starbucks but there is a Starbucks in the store if its your thing.

Yelp
I wish the selection was a little better, just like the Marketplace in Newport. This Kroger gets the job done though and it is close to my house. The staff is always helpful and courteous. It is open 24hrs which comes in handy.

Paul R.

Yelp
The worst Kroger I have ever had the misfortune of stepping into. Tonight they yet again had no 2% organic milk. The Starbucks did happen to be open at 8:00 pm, unlike last week, even though it clearly says they are open until 9pm. Though they had no coffee... at the Starbucks. The excuse was he doesn't normally work at this one. He must work at one of those coffee free Starbucks...

Yelp
Nice clean store. The deli department is great. In a great location as well that is not too busy.

Yelp
One thing that I really like about this Kroger in particular is that it has what is called the "scan, bag and go" system. What that system is to somebody who hasn't seen it yet is where you can scan your purchase as you go through the store and bag your purchase up in either plastic bags provided by the store or in your own bags. The best part of the system is that it keeps a running total of your purchase, so if you're on a tight budget, you can keep an eye on what you've spent in the store so far and it helps in that way too. The other thing that I like about the system is that you can go through the U scan's instead of the regular check out line and save a bunch of time getting in and out of the store -- which cuts the wait time in line to pay down a lot and it even allows you to do coupons as well. I wish that more people knew about this service, although the only drawback about it is that you have to be finished shopping by 10 PM, or you wind up paying the regular cashier a visit to have your purchase rang up.

Yelp
This is an especially nice Kroger. Good deli with friendly staff, really nice salad bar. I don't live in the area but would certainly visit if I happened to be driving through and needed to pick up something.

Yelp
On 4 separate occasions I have either purchased an extremely expired item or found items on the shelf 2 weeks past expiration. I've never had this issue at any other Kroger. Granted, it's always a good idea to check your expiration dates before purchasing, but you don't expect that you should have to. You expect that a store is doing their job and keeping old, expired and potentially dangerous items off the shelves. I was about to buy a refrigerated (NOT frozen) chicken ravioli from the healthy section before I checked the expiration date and saw it expired one week previous. Its chicken! You can't be selling those things....I also once bought a pomegranate fruit cup just to get home and find it was already fermented. 3 weeks later I went to purchase some cheese and saw it also had already expired and was much harder than the others of the same type which were soft and not expired. This Kroger is very clean and has nice clientele, but their ability to catch expired products is disconcerting to me and I don't shop there anymore.

Yelp
clean, we love getting a yummy muffin for breakfast, and my favorite part is watching my sons eyes light up if we hit it right in the morning and the fire fighters arrive to do their shopping, cause then he gets to see the truck and talk to real firefighters!
