Chef David Chang Will Raise Money for the Southern Smoke Foundation on ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ - Eater Houston

"The Kroger grocery store at 3300 Montrose, colloquially referred to as Disco Kroger for its late night hours and eclectic Montrosian crowds, is shutting down. The grocery store will close its doors in January, according to ABC13. It’s the second grocery store in the Montrose/Midtown area to close in recent months — the Fiesta Mart on Wheeler and San Jacinto closed in July. The grocery store had been renovated only five years ago, but Kroger officials told ABC13 it had been losing money for some time. Still, no Kroger employees will be laid off — instead they’ll be placed elsewhere within the company." - Brittanie Shey

The friendly staff helped us find our items quickly, which was great since we were in a rush. I believe the manager or someone higher up noticed me taking pictures and came over to investigate. 😄 They also have delicious-looking sushi and some other Asian soft drinks that I’ll definitely buy next time we visit. The grocery store is clean and well-stocked, and there’s also a Starbucks inside, which is very convenient. Oh, and there’s plenty of parking because it’s located in a shopping center.

Google
I love coming here. They’re super nice and friendly. Nice desks and sales. I never have had an issue with them. Honestly sometimes I just got for the baked treats. The pecan donuts are next level.

Google
Classic Kroger experience. It is amazing the amount of food they have stocked in the aisles consistently here. They have great deals on the app and with tons of their coupons. The store did not seem like a small Kroger, it had plenty of aisles and selection to choose from. No complaints for me and this is a solid option for your grocery needs.

2 clerks in the building, lines weren’t moving. I loathe the self checkout as it consistently screws up. So I went to self check out and asked for help from an inept employee. Her name might have been Belinda, different spelling. CHEC 505 on the receipt. I didn’t raise my voice, but was clearly fed up. She refused to make eye contact. Really rude. If you’re going to raise prices through the roof, maybe hire some decent people too.

Very unhappy with this store. I went to the 9pm. Did our grocery shopping and got around $350 worth of items. And I noticed that there is only self checkout open. That sucks. I got a lot of groceries and I'm going to have to bag them myself. But that's no biggie, I don't mind. But then when I'm doing self checkout, the lady at the front asks me how many 12 pack of sodas I had, I says 3 because it was Buy 2 get 1 free, she told me I had to get another one because it was buy 2 get 2 free and the coupon wouldn't work unless I had 4 boxes of soda. But I was 100% sure that it was B2G1 because I read the coupon as I was getting the sodas. But she was certain that I had to get another one. Turns out I was right so I paid $11 because this employee was wrong. but that's not the only thing. She didn't like the way we bagged our groceries and she kept telling us how to scan items and bag them. Maybe we were going to slow but we had $350 worth of items so it was gonna take a while. I felt so rushed I'm pretty sure I double scanned items and I felt so backseated and berated while using self checkout and truly I just wanted to be left alone while I bagged my groceries, and truly I felt like I shouldn't have to bag my own groceries when the cart was as full like that. And then she's telling me about coupons and telling me that I should get the app. (I already had coupons and the app but just didn't get many items that were on sale) And it was overall a very frustrating experience just not have a line I could go to so someone could bag my groceries, but made worse by this one employee standing in the self checkout area telling me how to more efficiently do a job that I don't have. And I paid more than I should have. She made me feel like I was stupid. Like oh my god I never want to come back here again because of this one employee.

I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at this location today (May 8th) at 12:24 PM while trying to send money via Western Union. The cashier, Arecely, was shockingly unprofessional. From the moment our interaction began, she had a condescending attitude, responding to simple questions with sarcasm and a disrespectful tone. Despite my calm warnings to keep the conversation professional and just focus on the transaction, she continued speaking over me and acting as if we were having a personal argument — not a customer service exchange. It was completely uncalled for and unacceptable. What’s worse is that my co-worker also had a similar negative encounter with this same employee. He told me she made him feel uncomfortable with her smart remarks and dismissive attitude. This shows a clear pattern of behavior that needs to be addressed. Management needs to seriously reevaluate who they are trusting to represent Kroger on the front lines. Shoppers deserve courtesy and professionalism — not disrespect.

Roman was a fantastic guy in produce. He was very kind and helpful. I think this Kroger is very have him and they should pay him top dollar. Anyways if you are lost finding something Roman is the guy he will do everything he can to help you with a smile!! 💯💯

This parking lot looks so fancy after dark. Store is so clean. I'll be back to shop some more.

Yelp
According to the mayor of Houston this is the most dangerous Kroger in town. And honestly he is right!!! The people at this Kroger are looking to take your investment portfolios and put them into risky ventures that only put you at risk and allow them to hedge their own investments. Talk about the cute little girls out side... once a year there are pushers trying to peddle their addictive products on hungry patrons. And on the inside the wine and beer selection is just okay. No $1000 bottles at all! Don't get me started on the sushi... disgusting how it's made fresh right in front of you. If I wanted to see how the sausage was made I'd buy a butchery. It's so inconvenient too. They often have normal registers open.
google avatar

Yelp
I bumped into this Kroger store after dark. Not sure how I found this one. My GPS just led me here. I haven't been able to find it again until I matched the photos to see it. Ok, my first impression was... wow this place looked like a nightclub. Blue hue in the parking lot. The storefront looked unusual and I hesitated to walk in. Not sure what to expect, really. So, I walked in and found everything familiar to me. Maybe I'll be back. Nothing stands out that I should be back. Maybe I'll bump into it again after dark.

Yelp
I was working next door and came to see if they had Nolan Ryan angus skirt steak and they sure do . Looks like a good quality fajita . I bought a few pounds to make on the bbq pit . The store is very well organized and stocked. They also have a sushi stand as well where they make fresh sushi. The deli has quite a bit of a selection for a quick lunch. They also have a tables and chairs upstairs to eat at. The employees I dealt with were very friendly. I'd come back again.

Yelp
It's a "NO" for me. Never again. I was doing self checkout (1020am, January 10, 2025). I am not familiar with self checkout at Kroger. There was a tall, curt, female employee standing over me the entire time. She was not helping me. She was snappily stating instructions to me, like I was an inmate and she was an officer. She made me very uncomfortable. I don't think that was her intention, she was brute when I entered the store. During my checkout, she leaned over the transaction shelf where I was scanning, looking into my face during my entire transaction. She was not helping me just smarkily saying things like "scan that, don't use the scanner, take your bag off the shelf..." As I left the store, she walked to a more neutral post as others checked out unbothered. Why not walk around from post to post in self check out rather than stand and lean on my transaction podium. I could and should have left, but feeling unwell I just wanted to pay for the things I'd taken my time to shop for, and go. This location is poorly lit, unclean flooring, and higher prices than other local grocery franchises. The worst though was being treated like a convict rather than a paying customer by that tall lady at the entry/self checkout area.

Yelp
I was at Kroger a few days ago, and the overall experience was good. This location is better than some of the Kroger's I've been to. The shelves are fully stocked of whatever you need, like sodas, juice, milk, cheese, etc. The customer service was good. We bought a lot of groceries for the week and our cashier was really sweet and semi funny. He really put a smile on our face. The ambiance is like a normal, busy grocery store. This location, though, is smaller than some of the other Kroger's locations we've been to. He parking lot wasn't full but about 85% when we arrived. In conclusion, we will return if we're in the area.

Yelp
Great people that work there! Ms. Jackie knows me well enough and knows her regular customers to know how my ailing parents are doing and gives hugs when needed, I've cried on her shoulder! It's the workers that make a good place. Oh yeah, good prices too but humans make a store

david g.

Yelp
Went to the river oaks Kroger today for shopping. Arrived in the meat market and no one was behind the counter. After waiting a while I flagged a worker down. He went in the back and came back. He said someone will here shortly. By this time there were 5 p we pole waiting. I went to back the back and told the guy. He said was busy. After 5-10 mins he came and refused to wait on me. He was very rude! I reported this to the manager Mike. He did not seemed concerned about the situation and said he would take care of it. No apology. HEB looks very now'

Yelp
I don't know where to begin on how this Kroger is truly lacking. River Oaks is a very fluent area of wealth and I can't understand why they never have selection of product and way overpriced for no reason. A point a bag of chips out ravenous 6 bucks seriously.

Yelp
Roger keeps asking me to review this place, I'm like... K, Roger, I will. This is the Kroger located right on (West) Gray Street, which Dave Matthews Band approve of, which has a beautiful old style flat concrete facade that makes it look different from a lot of the others. It could use a bit of a renovation, but it's still a nice Kroger in a convenient location for people who live in the neighbourhood, but nowhere near any highway, so it really is only a neighbourhood store. Barbie doesn't like it because it's small and cramped, and she also doesn't like getting cramps, monthly it seems. It doesn't have a good selection, but Amsterdam's Walletjes really does.

Denise A.

Yelp
Be ready to be glowered at and side-eyed, and have your patience tested! Both self-service check out and the cashier attendants act like customers are ruining their lives! Enjoy being treated like common thieves if you self check out and both table and hand-held scanners do not work! Is management even reading these reviews?
google avatar

Justin T.

Yelp
This Kroger is okay, a solid three stars. The positives: parking is rarely a hassle, especially at off-peak hours. Prices are really good. The team working here does a good job of keeping the shelves stocked. They've improved their cheese section in the past year or so and it's a huge upgrade over what they used to have. They're open late. The negatives: like pretty much all Krogers in Houston, there's really no wow factor. Prepared food options are limited, and the sushi is just terrible. The store brand is pretty low quality. The convenience of this store makes it a great spot when you need to pick up an item or two. But for my weekly shopping, I'll stick with H-E-B.

Yelp
I'm writing this review because I want people to be aware of what's going on if you get delivery, we order at least every two weeks, we have never had an issue, and the people that do the service are usually on top, and make good choices, on our last delivery we had about $95 worth of an order, our bill charged to our credit card was $195, long story short we called, we had to go item by item, we got our money back from customer service, but the hassle, the violation of using our card to buy your groceries, I have never seen not even an extra snicker or a drink charged to us, but this was way overboard, so check your receipts, your orders and make sure they haven't done this to you. This is our last order from Krogers, I'm guessing curve sides at HEB is next, sadly they don't deliver or curve side near me.

Yelp
Came in to pick up my prescriptions. It's a shame I have to come all the way to River Oaks to get them. I went to the Missouri City one on Hwy 6 and the lady fussed at me because I received prescriptions in Denver when my daughter had surgery on her liver. The people in Denver were really go with me. I told the lady in Mo. City I live here and they are the ones whose number I gave for the refill. River Oaks Kroger has always been professional. No. City gives shots for the virus instead of filling medication. I had a bad ear ache and the doctor called in the prescription. It took four days for them to fill it. The next month was the same. River oaks is wonderful. Ten stars. Thanks

Yelp
I don't typically come on here for giggles to write a bad review. But my experience just now was completely off the chain. Darnella, wearing a red supervisor vest: was not able to acknowledge me at the time of my arrival at check out, because she was busy telling her coworkers about personal business, loud enough for me to hear from before I got into the line. It wasn't until one of the bag boys motioned over to her that someone was in line. At this point, she came in very dismissive, condescending, and annoyed... And you would think I was exaggerating, but she couldn't even let me get a word in and opened up her statement with "Kroger's card?" She proceeded to continue to interrupt me as I tried to explain to her that I wanted to separate transactions. At the end of the day, the job was done, whatever. But overall, that entire interaction was completely unnecessary. It almost felt like she was talking to me as if she was annoyed to be working. But I get it, girl, you're just tryna get you some money for whatever you really are getting yourself into. I guess we really could just replace all these cashier lines with self-checkout, why not? Maybe save a few cashiers the burden of clocking in and making money perhaps. The only thing I have to even say that's remotely nice, was that the young lady bagging my groceries did it quickly, effectively, and didn't make me feel rushed. There needs to be some form of customer service corrective training for Miss Girl with the power trip. You are here, clocked in to do a job, and if you don't like it, well you're outta luck, I guess. Just wanted to share, Don't call or text me to take this down cause it probably won't happen @management

Yelp
if I could give a zero star I would. Horrible service at the self checkout!!! Not only I had to check my items since there were very long lines at the only two cashiers, the employee helping customers at the self checkout had a horrible atitude!!! No wonder HEB is doin so well! This never happened to me there.

Yelp
I didn't usually shop at Krogers, I started shopping at this River Oaks Location after noticing several of their products get its price cut in almost half on certain weeks. I go there 3 days a week and look for this cut. 8 picked up a Slab of ribs for under 5$. Raw vegetables trays under 3 dollars. fresh cut fruit 5$ or less. Heat and eat fresh foods 6$ and under, that I freeze until needed, half loaves of fresh breads, Shrimp cocktails 5 n 10$, just to name a few.

Yelp
I am standing here wringing wet it is so hot in this store. Stand by the Tide laundry detergent and feel the hot air pouring out if the vents. Bye...

Yelp
They need to fix that drastic drop from their parking lot on both exits. The car damage is almost not worth going to this location There are other near by grocery stores to go to that do not require dragging the bottom of my car on such a steep incline.

Yelp
Everybody has been out of green onions lately, however, David and Jose were able to assist me. They were out of green onions too however, they made their magic happen and produced me some green onions out of nowhere lol. Thanks guys

Christine C.

Yelp
This is about the pharmacy- I am tired of the rude pharmacy technicians. Johnny the head pharmacist is great but most of the rest of the staff are plain rude and judgemental. I have a lot of medications that I take so I go to the pharmacy often and they know who I am and what medications I take. There is a few young women that work there that are so rude and judgemental. They judge me on the meds I take etc. All I want to do is get my medication and leave. They will be like we don't have anything for you and I'm like yeah you do my doctor called it in this morning. They used to fill RXs the same day you called it in now it tells you on the phone it will take at least 2 days but press a button and we will do it sooner. I take medications that cannot be filled ahead of time so I need it right away when it's called in etc. basically the technicians need to change their attitude or leave.

Yelp
Made a stop at this Kroger today to grab a quick rotisserie chicken. Boy was I disappointed once I made it to where I was going and opened it! It was absolutely the lowest quality pre-cooked chicken I've ever purchased. It was so bad, I went immediately to return it. I went to the service desk and the 2 employees behind the counter were surprised at how the chicken looked. I was told to show the deli department and that I could pick another chicken. Unfortunately, the employee manning the deli seemed they couldn't care less. Once I was able to get their attention, they lifted their head up and told me that it was actually "the seasoning on the chicken that makes it look like that". Then put their head back down and keep writing in their tablet. No offer for another chicken? No offer for a refund? No acknowledgment of poor quality? Nope. Nothing. I saw another roasted chicken that had been opened and was just sitting out - open for anyone to touch, sneeze on, etc. I alerted the employee that there was exposed food on display. As a customer, I certainly wouldn't want an exposed food, especially not with COVID-19 out there. Their reply was "a customer opened it because they knew it was sealed when it was initially put out". I'm not sure why that mattered, so I politely took the open chicken off display and passed it to another employee behind the deli counter so no one would would purchase it. I got me another chicken to replace my originally burned bird and took it to the service desk, where they let me exchange it. (Nice employees working at the service desk, by the way) Kroger Deli Management, let's be sure we do quality checks before we put food out for customers to purchase. A bird that is burned this badly should be thrown away! And if food is unsealed, regardless of who opened it, let's remove it from the purchase area. No one wants food that could potentially be tampered with or contaminated. I guess I should stick to HEB's rotisserie chicken.

Yelp
This River Oaks Kroger is a tad outdated on the outside.....think of 80's style facade. But it's good that not everything on the outside makes the same impression on the inside. This Kroger is equipped with a Starbucks, pharmacy, and a specialty cheese section along with all of the typical things that they have. The wine selection here is pretty large as well as the healthy food area. This rating lost one star because the employees here aren't too helpful or customer service friendly. I don't even know why they place the bells on every register for customers to press if they'll just stay there to collect dust.
google avatar

Casey C.

Yelp
I have always loved coming to this Kroger. It is spacious and clean. In the midst of COVID19, a lot of grocery stores haven't been the best... but this one is amazing! The employees are so kind and helpful, I am very thankful for their hard work and dedication during this time. I know they would much rather be safe at home but they don't let that show even for one second! We will keep coming back here.

Yelp
I've been shopping here for over 5 years plus/ But I'm tired of the deceptive advertising in the meat department. I'm going to be taking my grocery shopping to HEB. Sad.. Bc I truly loved everyone at the checkout line. Krogers likes to put large signs and make it appear as if the entire package is a certain price - but in reality it's the price per pound written in tiny letters. This was the second time I fell for this scam. Even the manager on duty admitted lots of customers were getting upset over this (still did nothing to assure me it will be corrected) and they've asked the meat department to stop. But they don't.. if you like having to read the fine print and a grocery store that you buy your food from then this is the place. This scam has been going on for years and they are hoping you won't catch it or have the balls to take everything in your cart back to customer service. Time to switch grocery stores.

Yelp
I called to order an arrangement in the floral department yesterday. I gave very little instruction and trusted they would make something beautiful and when I arrived 30 minutes later I picked up one of the most beautiful arrangement I've ever seen! And the price was amazing!!!!

John O.

Yelp
The veggies are great but the butcher is awful! Just got the lemon pepper chicken and it tastes like bleach. It was very cheap so I should have known better. But this is not the first time. Stick to the Kroger on Buffalo Speedway. Kroger on Grey...step up your game! Horrible!!! I feel sick to my stomach it was so horrible.
google avatar

Yelp
This store is not super large or new, but is a great neighborhood store with better than average selection of healthy and organic foods at decent prices. There are three stores very near me, this is my first option.

Yelp
This Kroger is so well stocked all the time! I went there specifically for my thanksgiving needs this year and I wasn't disappointed. I was in and out within 15 minutes the day before thanksgiving!!! They don't have long checkout lines and they always have fast baggers too! LOVE this Kroger. Also, they always have the most beautiful arrangements of flowers to chose from!

Yelp
Ordered grocery delivery yesterday. Assigned time of 7-8pm delivery. Waiting... Someone called at 6:53pm to say it would be delayed a little. The delivery person texted and said they told her my order isn't ready. Waiting... Next call at 7:15pm to say it wouldn't be ready and would be delivered later...maybe 8-9pm. Waiting... Next call at 8:18pm to say my order won't be delivered tonight. The earliest possible they could reschedule is noon tomorrow but that's not guaranteed. No apology or explanation or anything. Seriously? Canceled the order, got on HEB's app and placed it (for Buffalo Heights location), picked up at 7:30am and unpacked by 7:50am. NEVER AGAIN Kroger. H‑E‑B just won my business permanently.
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
I go in sometimes in the morning on the way home from work, and the little latin woman at the register is always camplaining, and acting put out to be there. This morning she has no mask on and is coughing all around the check out line fumbling to find her mask to put on, while sounding like she is already sick, and just taking her own sweet time putting her mask on while coughing everywhere....Really?

Alan Z.

Yelp
At 7:02 I came for a pick up order. Parked and notified them 15 minutes ahead. 7:23, they called me said there will be a delay, maximum 30 minutes. It's 8:01 now, still waiting. I can't cancel my order cuz I already confirmed to pick up. Excuse me? I feel I'm just a stupid guy and waisting my time in car. Never ever KROGER. HEB is the WAYYYYY better.

Yelp
This is my neighborhood Kroger. When it's time to reload my kitchen, this is the place for essential goods. :)

Yelp
I have shopped here for several years now. Overall, the store is not too bad but the one department I have the biggest problem with is the deli. it does not matter who is working over there they have the worst attitudes and no type of customer service skills at all. every person that works in the deli seems to be a disgruntled employees who are either forced to work the department or people who hate their jobs period. this really needs to be addressed because the deli is a place you surely want to avoid.

michael n.

Yelp
Except the produce department this Kroger store on West Gray has THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE on earth. No wonder HEB stores are always10 times busier than them. Especially the cashier TAM. She literally insulted one customer after another. SMH. I just go there to buy a few things then save the rest of my grocery list to shop at HEB because they appreciate my hard-earned money more. : (

Yelp
This is our neighborhood Kroger and I frequent 3-4 times a week preferring to shop the day I'm cooking to pre inventorying for for a week or longer. The location is perfect for this. While this is a complaint, my overall feeling for the store is very positive. Two or three items I buy regularly are frequently out of stock. I fully understand the difficulty of maintaining inventory of the vast number of products but to me, if a product is out of stock so often that I have to visit a competitors store somethings wrong. Starbucks Pike Keurig pods are consistently out. Kroger keeps (if the shelf is full) 5-6 boxes, a typical sale price requires the customer to purchase 5 boxes, so the first one there cleans out the shelf inventory. If the sale includes bag coffee, the Pike is gone. I assume that Kroger wants to sell as much product as possible, so step it up. If this is a vendor stocked item, let them know. My other complaint is fresh herb inventory for those of us who love to cook....often there has been no Tarragon, no Thyme, no Rosemary or no Basil. The inventory and selection is very limited.

Yelp
Criminals. Went to get a brownie for my partner. The things we do when we love someone . Found the exact one he wanted and it was regular 4.99 but with Kroger card it was on sale for 2.99. I get to checkout and put in my Kroger card and it rings up 3.99. So I show the lady and she is like well the computer says 3.99. So I just pay and walk out. What a bunch of criminals these stores are. Guess I look for another place to get my groceries. Ugh ‍

Yelp
I enjoy the Deli department and the sushi department as the customer service is always excellent. I dine upstairs and recommend getting a boars head sandwich from the deli rack, it's an inexpensive lunch option.

Rebecca T.

Yelp
I asked the guy manning the baskets if they had been cleaned. He said the customers clean their own..no, they do not! Grocers are competitive and the one thing they all do is sanitize the baskets. I'm done with this store Its managed so badly

Yelp
Neighborhood Kroger is convenient and clean. I witnessed Management scolding a cashier ( in front of the customer ) bc the customer paid in coins ( I believe it was around $10.00 ). Very unprofessional in front of a customer and demeaning to the cashier.

Jarratt J.

Yelp
The women in the Deli Department only have 2 speeds; slow and stop! So, if you don't like their first speed, you sure won't like their second one! Every time they're are 2-3 deli person(s) behind the counter that do their best to not notice you waiting. Kroger, where are your Managers?

Yelp
A few things to know about this bougie Kroger (coined perfectly by Linh N). 1. Because it's centered smack dab in River Oaks, be prepared to spend a pretty penny, as compared to other grocers. 2. This is hottie central with prime people watching - for guys and gals. I dunno if it's because the hard bodies from FiT, River Oaks Gym, River Oaks Fitness and DefineBody flock here after a workout ... but never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever step foot inside Bougie Kroger without a little concealer and lipgloss. The produce is plentiful and fresh; find a sizable selection of organic and health-conscious options; cashiers are funny (I can't help but ring the "I'm getting good service" bell when I'm checking out.); I adore the ever-busy-but-lovely floral section and getting an impromptu sushi fix from the fresh-made sushi - by Latinos. What? What? It's no H-E-B, but with the beefy meat market it boasts (ahem), it ain't half bad.

Yelp
Late this morning I visited Kroger on West Gray. I had high praise for this store until this morning. I have always found the staff here to be very helpful and courteous. This morning I even told Mike, who is in management, how pleased I was with his store and his staff. I then asked Mike about how to download the apps in order to take advantage of the number of discounts the store offers. A few weeks ago, I had purchased cherries and when I got to the checkout, I questioned the staff person as to why I was charged so much more than the listed price for the cherries. She politely told me that because I had not downloaded the code, I was charged a HIGHER price and it was indeed higher. Armed with her advice, I saw that cherries and a few other fruits were discounted today so I tried in vain to educate myself on downloading the sales items. Mike was the first employee I encountered and his advice was just to download the app and he moved on. I showed him what I thought was the downloaded app and again he stated to just download the app and he moved on. Keep in mind, this was after I told him how pleased I was with both his store and his pleasant staff. All of that was true too. The next person I asked was a customer who was trying to take a picture of the QR code on peaches which were also on sale today. I inquired as to how she was going about her task and she quickly told me that she did not understand the system either but always has to be reminded by a cashier as to the process. She was having difficulty getting a pic of the code so I asked if I could do it for her to make her life easier. She was appreciative and allowed me to help. I then thought I should head to customer service to get a tutorial in how to go about this Kroger method. Dee Dee was behind the counter and just like Mike, she advised me to download the app. When I showed her what I thought was the downloaded app she said well, it should work but she was not certain. A bit more than frustrated at this point, I headed back to the fruits and took a pic of the peach QR code. Turned out that there was not code for cherries even though Mike had told me that there was a code for them. Off to check out I announced to the cashier that I had some frustration in taking advantage of their discounts to which she replied that it is not an easy process and that she has to do her at home before she comes into the store to shop. I will try that system before I shop again. Is there a tutorial as to how a customer is do go about taking advantage of your discounts. Telling a customer to download the app is not sufficient. There is more to it than that. Kudos to Alicia in the flower section. She was kind, courteous and patient as always. Customer service is her forte.

Yelp
I love the layout of this Kroger. It was easy to learn and get around when I first started coming here. I have issues with the produce department. They never have strawberries when I need them. No matter what day of the week it is they seem to never stock up so instead I had to get the ones that they stock with the leaf cut off...well thank goodness in the middle of shopping I noticed those strawberries were going bad and simply placed it back on the shelf. Same goes for bananas sometimes there are only literally 4 bananas left on the whole display. I always buy the All White Egg Whites and there are times they never even have one. I also had an issue once in the fish department. I was having a party that night so was stocking up on snacks and drinks. I was planning on having shrimp cocktails. So I asked the guy for a pound of shrimp. There was a good 3 pounds left. He was about to start getting the shrimp when he told me "are you sure you want this? they're going to be bad pretty soon" So I said "I was planning on having them tonight" He then grabbed a few shrimp and said that they still aren't good for tonight. PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU WOULD DISPLAY BAD SHRIMP. I left and went to HEB where the food seems much fresher. Everything else seems great though. I agree with another reviewer this is like the Hollywood Kroger lol. And they do offer free wine tastings and free food samples at times.

Yelp
I stopped by yesterday and I was horrified!!!!Kroger was extremely packed. %90 of the people wanted to be shoulder to shoulder and refused to respect the 6 feet rule. Even the gal working the self check out area ran up just a couple inches from me to fix the screen! I couldn't wait to get out of there!! That is exactly the behavior that will make the number of people infected.

Yelp
This is my Kroger. After moving back into the city from Katy I was going to another Kroger until I checked this one out. It isn't usually too busy and is a good sized store. Always have everything I need and the employees are generally happy.

Yelp
B.A.K. translation, this is a Big-Ass-Kroger. I live in NYC and our supermarkets are small. I think I could get lost in this one, or at least live in it undetected for a couple of weeks. My friend and I came here for specific items, picked them up easily and checked out in no time. I was surprised that for such a big store, checkout was so quick. Parking was easy and the place was clean, with friendly workers. I'd shop here if I ever did anything other than order in. Also, I'd have to live in Houston but that's another story.

Yelp
I really like the layout of this Kroger and its staff, but yesterday it seemed unfair to both the staff and customers how cold it was inside the store. It was 44degrees Fahrenheit outside (rare in Houston), but it felt just the same, if not cooler near the refrigerated aisles. Sad. I'll return to this Kroger, but maybe not when it's cold outside. Please fix your heater, Kroger on Gray.

Yelp
NOT 24/7 like the website and their voicemail says. The woman who came to rudely yell that they were closed needs a lesson in customer service. Total B. Change your website, change your voicemail, and change your choice of staff.
