Visited on Fri Oct 17 2025. All staff was very polite and kind, they made courteous announcements over the intercom. The store was clean and well laid out. There were many options of ready made food as well as fresh-looking produce. There was no shortage of carts or baskets when we went around 10pm. The store was very easy to find within the city, and parking was abundant. The entire place was very navigable. This was a very good example of a Kroger, bright and clean and spacious, with many more options than typical, and lots of friendly staff.

I stop here every other day for food. I also have eight months in recovery. It’s the first cold day of the winter and when I walked in, I needed to blow my nose. I wasn’t sure where the restroom is because I’m not from this area and I guess I never had to use the restroom here. There’s a man in there cleaning and I work in a warehouse that sells auto parts and it’s not a very clean job, so I don’t get dressed up for work everyday. Before I walked in I was very polite and asked whether he minded if I blew my nose. He said he didn’t mind & then, very condescendingly made the comment “if you gonna buy something, there’s toilet paper and tissue in aisle 9 or ten”, like I’m buying food with my debit card. There’s a problem that I’m blowing my nose here? Seriously. Super triggering for anyone. Terrible experience compared to any other experience I’ve ever had here. Definitely not cool.

For those from out of town, Kroger is a grocery store similar to a Safeway. Visiting RVA for a weekend from D.C., Kroger was a short drive from where we were staying. There's a large parking lot and the layout is similar to other grocery stores with produce, the bakery, etc. right when you walk in. I stopped in to pick up salami, gallons of water, and laundry detergent. There are many self-check out stations and customer service was helpful.

Thank you Kroger deli staff for the roasting I received from my family during our weekly “GAME NIGHT” last night. I’m still hearing about it today. I purchased 2 boxes of chicken and 1.33lbs of your loaded baked potato salad. The chicken was okay but the potatoes in the potato salad was uncooked in the middle and some pieces were just all together crunchy. Thanks again Kroger now I’m being ostracized by my own family and I’ve been blocked from bringing anything edible to Thanksgiving dinner. My mom said there’s a place at the kiddie table for me this year, I’m well over 18 years of age. My feelings are hurt and I don’t trust you anymore.

There are frequently no carts available in the store and no carts available in the returns, with a parking lot maybe 3/4 full. It’s been this way for a few months now. We are shopping for a family of four and today instead of waiting in the parking lot for someone to come out and return a cart, we drove across town to a different location.

Every time I shop here I'm always missing items when I pay and check out. The cashier must be hiding my items, taking them away and not putting them into my cart. It's the 3rd time this happened at this location. I pay for my items, get home and something is missing. This never happens anywhere else I shop. I'm convinced the cashier (same person) is knowingly ripping me off by slipping my items under the counter when I'm paying, so I'm always missing something. I'm not sure if this is racially motivated or targeted, but it needs to stop. Next time this happens I'm calling management again with a name, time and number to complain that my items are being misplaced/stolen after being paid for, then onto corporate and social media for negative PR. Name and shame.

Walked in the mens room while talking on the phone and was met with an employee who said "this restroom is being cleaned" I said "okay" and walked away. As I walked out he said "you can use the urinal" to which I responded that I needed the stall. He said "excuse me sir, we're civilized around here. Are you talking to me on the phone or are you talking to me right here? You look me in my eyes like a civilized person". WHAT?! ARE YOU SERIOUS? I have NEVER been spoken to like this for simply trying to use a restroom. I will never use this Kroger location and I will be calling corporate. DO BETTER!!

Thanksgiving is coming and they had all the beautiful potatoes and sweet potatoes. All the good fruits. All the perfect fixing to go with turkey.

Yelp
This is one of the few larger grocery store options close in to downtown RVA. It's the second time I've been and I only stopped in because it was early in the morning and all the students are on break. The aisles are small and they are always blocked with carts and boxes and no store help around to move them. Also no one to ask where something is. It just doesn't feel very clean and kept as compared to my go to Publix where shopping is a pleasure.

Yelp
Welcome back, Kroger Shoppers, Seems Kroger policy , According to the store associates, they have bathrooms for blacks only, according to their associates, i was trying to use the wrong bathroom, and they called security. instead of of customer service, they say policy sez: i have to use a different bathroom, the one in the back of store, right there, while i am shopping, they said it was too good for me, and had to use a different one, Hmm what part of policy sez: team up and , stop everything, and call security on a shopper using the wrong bathroom. Policy.. think it is a guide line for employees to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects company company moral and conduct to costumers, again this store fails, in conduct toward customers. so using force and intimidation against a consumer simply trying to use the bathroom, is grossly a slap in the face of all costumers. all human curtsy and dignity is gone when you walk into this store. BYW, i am there nearly every day, i watch, i look, I drive a new gl 450, i am well dressed, and get treated like shit at this store. in my opinion i would think this store is run by the most racist angry people i have ever in my life encountered. and you wonder why it has two stars, that is an over rating, lowest rate store in Richmond, Corporate.. listen up, this is why. hello.. two stars i would close it , hire humans, not idiots

Yelp
I stopped coming to this grocery store about 2 years ago because I decided I liked the Publix in Carytown better. I hated waiting for self-checkout, I thought the service was bad, and I didn't like being hassled in the parking lot. I stopped in tonight because this place is miles closer to my house and I only needed a few items. Kroger is so much worse than the last time I shopped here. It looks like other people have stopped shopping as well. The meat counter appears to be permanently closed. I don't know when I will be back, but I don't think this will ever be my first choice of a grocery store ever again.

Yelp
The costumer service is absolutely terrible. I went to my near by Kroger as a college student getting some money to pay for food. I turned in some coins that I had saved up and went to the coinstar in the store. When I put in all my coins in, the screen said that they couldn't give me my money and to ask for assistance (as pictured). We then proceeded to ask the nearest worker and she said she would go ask for someone in higher authority. We stood there for 20 minutes until we finally had to go ourselves to find someone to help us. The worker who came to "help" us was named Jade, she told us she didn't have the key to unlock it and for us (the customers) to call the number of the coinstar company. So we called and they hung up on us- still standing there for another 20 minutes we had workers pass us with no care. We went to jade multiple times to ask for help and every time she would walk away without saying a word to communicate to us what was happening. There were only two kind and gracious people who actually tried to help us and their names are Corena (forgive me if i misspelled) and Olivia. After an hour of standing and waiting for someone to have the decency to help us we talked to olivia and she helped us get our money back after waiting over an hour. TERRIBLE customer service and i will no longer be giving my time or money to this horrible establishment.

Yelp
Customer service, I have shopped here along time, But as of lately I feel uncomfortable, I use self check alot it's faster, But certain older cashiers have started standing over certain customers, mostly black people. Watching every move, I thought that was what all the cameras were for.

Yelp
They need help bad walk from work and be tired and know one never works where you need to be pay bills or get money orders .but you see alot of people standing and manager has an attitude when asked y no one is there.i love this Kroger but it's not loving back.

Naveah C.

Yelp
This store is a mess. This the third time I've had to return old sour chicken from Kroger but like many other times the customer service was closed & if it's not closed it has a long line almost to the back of the store & it's ridiculous when you're advertising customer service on signs but really false advertising because it's closed as per usual. Also It's an older lady who works there & has the nastiest attitude. I walk to Kroger so it's a huge inconvenience when I have to come back & return something & I can't because "they closed customer service". & also having to deal with the attitudes of the employees.

Yelp
According to Anita customers are rude and she will come confront you getting all up in your face if at 7:20pm in a Monday night you dare to use the self checkout for a price check when they fail to label prices, have no one working in the store to ask, and she wants to shut things down early. No wonder their yelp is what it is. I've never been confronted by such a rude service industry worker she should consider another line of work. I'll be sending video of the 2nd half of her verbal assault on a customer to corporate. ALDIs getting a new full time customer! Cheaper prices and at least their staff isn't rude.
google avatar

Juliana C.

Yelp
I've used their pickup more than in store shopping because the self checkout workers are pretty lazy and bothered when you need them to help. Pick-Up however is always super sweet and attentive. The store is about 70% fresh when it comes to produce but as far as basic essentials they are almost always in stock.

Yelp
Listen, if you are reading this, it's not too late!!! The location is probably the best thing about this location because it's centrally located between VUU and VCU so makes it easy for college students. While the prices are affordable, there is not much else to offer here. The parking lot is horrid as it's overly crowded and folks are practically playing frogger to get a space, unbelievable. After risking your sanity in the parking lot and you make it into the store. Your next journey begins looking for what you need. I came in looking for the holiday Advent Wine Calendar and afternoon asking the employee pouring samples of wine if they had them, she had no clue what I was talking about and asking me to describe it and she still was unable to assist. I then retreated to the desk where a gentleman sat staring at the computer. I gave a polite excuse me as he looked up at me as though I was interrupting his scroll. I asked him if they had the calendar and he advised he was just reading an email about it but he did not have them and suggested I check the Carytown location since it is a larger location. Needless to say the store is just as unproductive as my visit itself. If you have the option to go somewhere, anywhere else save yourself and do just that. You can thank me later :)

Yelp
Other reviewers are correct that at least some items/shelves are not stocked even after the pandemic has subsided. Either this Kroger is mismanaged or they just sell out of some items fast and cannot keep the shelves stocked. However, neither the staff nor the other customers were rude on our visit, contrary to the experience of other reviewers. There were homeless/sketchy people near the entrance, but this seems typical of many businesses nowadays unfortunately. If in the area and you need a major market, this store is still worth a shot and is probably ur best bet. There is a CVS and a Walgreens relatively near by that may meet your need if this Kroger cannot.

Kevin D.

Yelp
Needs a Health Department visit, or a better produce manager. Mold on every raspberry. My mistake, I did not save my receipt
google avatar

Katherine N.

Yelp
An aggressively distressing environment, perhaps equivalent to the concept of 'purgatory' in many religions. The fluorescent lights bore into your skull with an intensity usually reserved for medical procedures. The staff all look fundamentally loathsome of their own existences and can you really blame them? This Kroger usually has the groceries you need, but they are often mislabeled, the aisles are always jammed, and the store is burdened with the profound psychic pain of thousands of college students come and gone. This is a place where you don't want to be seen.
google avatar

Jessie B.

Yelp
Very dangerous place to shop. More than 1/2 of the customers and employees we're without masks. It is the first of the month in a very urban area near 2 colleges, so it was unusually crowded. No one was controlling the crowd and there was absolutely no way to keep a social distance through the tight isle ways. The service was absolutely terrible. Couldn't find help anywhere. The bagger practically trough my eggs at me. I'm just glad I wore my PPE.

Yelp
This place A esome! 5*/5* Yes. Lots of food you can find anything there, the parking lot is big and spacious. Nice selection of citrus fruits and always fresh tomatoes. I recommend the fried chicken .

Yelp
Say what you will, but this Kroger is the realest. * It's out of items all the time. * The staff is uneven: some know your name while others dgaf, and turnover is high. * The building is shabby and upkeep is kind of dismal, such as in the coolers. * Wrappers and half-eaten merchandise are strewn about the store like Easter eggs that aren't particularly well hidden. * Only 2-3 of the 10 registers are ever open. * You may be panhandled on your way in and/or out. Still, it's worth supporting. I consider it my neighborhood store, as it serves folks who can't easily get to Carytown or the Aldi up the street. Even with GRTC passes to take them to Trader Joe's or Lidl or Wegmans, VCU students will continue to shop here. This store will probably survive the imminent Whole Foods. Over the years, this tired and tiring store has weathered challenges from Ukrops and Wal-Mart. In that time, the selection has expanded dramatically. Especially notable are the natural foods section and the deli, which includes a stand-alone sushi station whose offerings I've never tried but that seem popular. However, the produce continues to suffer, and it is frequently out of very basic items. How weird is it to go to the store for tomatoes or cabbage and leave empty handed? The store is run down compared to almost any other supermarket, and the long aisles designed to keep you browsing are so narrow that they're always crowded. Still, the mark-downs are remarkable, especially for packaged salads and flowers, which are particularly worth checking out. I have encountered the curt and uninformed staff mentioned in the other reviews, but by and large I've found folks friendly and helpful, especially when the store is less crowded, such as early on weekday mornings.

Brian C.

Yelp
There are two good things about this place. It is conveniently on my way home from work, and the employees do not care at all about how they price items, so you can often get a really good score on items whose normal prices are usually much higher. The flip side of employees not caring about how they price things, is that they don't care about anything else either. They have no care for customer service and no pride in their jobs, and it shows. Unfortunately, because it is in such a prime location, they will never have to worry about being at a loss for customers. But I will never go back.
google avatar

Tori N.

Yelp
Honestly this place is the worst. Mask enforcement is a joke. It's 50/50 whether people are A) wearing masks, and B) wearing them correctly. Nobody seems to care about social distancing either and there is absolutely no one guiding/enforcing it either. Hand sanitizer and cleaning carts? Nope! This is on top of everything else that I detest about this particular Kroger: unstocked shelves, a terrible parking lot, and rude, unhelpful staff. The 1* is for the pharmacy and having the egg free flu shot in stock. At least people in that department can be nice, but good luck. Avoid it if you can. Save yourself the headache.
google avatar

EunSung K.

Yelp
I am not sure why this Kroger is rated so low. It is located conveniently near VUU and VCU, so you do get a lot of young college age people that shot here along with families and older folks. The store is usually clean and well stocked. There vegetable section is really nice, and I am amazed by their selection of international foods. The staff here tend to be young, but friendly and helpful. I find this location less hectic than the Carytown Kroger.
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
After one trip here I'd say it's A-ok. I do agree with other reviewers though-the aisles are small. Otherwise, they have a lot of fresh produce, a variety of brands (at lower prices than NOVA where I live) , and a large selection of "healthy" items. The parking lot is very crowded and the neighborhood didn't seem to be the greatest in addition to the lack of shopping carts available. This was the closest grocery to my Air BnB so it was convenient enough and I'd imagine its convenient to the universities in the area given the predominantly student population I saw shopping in the store.

Guy C.

Yelp
As always only 1 register open. It is this kind of bad customer service that makes people leave bad feedback.
google avatar

Akdabi I.

Yelp
I visit this Kroger's quite often. Customer service is fairly decent. Half the time at checkout the cashiers look like they hate their job and they're close to going postal if you ask them to do a price check. One thing I love is the New York crunch rolls they have. Omg! AMAZING. Every time I come here I always get a free sample. I act like this is the first time I tried it. Pure heaven.....until I notice the price slowly increases every month. Smh. oh well. They are still good. If you love sushi. Pleaseee check them out. :)
google avatar

Monica G.

Yelp
You never know what to expect from this Kroger. There's hardly ever anything in stock on the shelves and it's just so dark gloomy and dirty inside! I'm not too impressed with the Kroger. But on a good day, if it's stocked, it gets the job done. It's normally packed so expect the lines to be long. However when I went yesterday, there was a wild stray dog in the lot and then this man going around to peoples cars and touching under the passenger side, front tire. It was the weirdest thing ever. I have also noticed that the parking lot is tight! Last thing, tow drivers sit in their trucks waiting to see you walk out your car and not go inside Kroger!
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
This is one of the worst Krogers I have been to. The parking is terrible and we were not able to find several things we were looking for. The layout of the store is not great either. But worst of all is the checkout. This store is busy, busy, busy and needs to have all checkouts open to speed things along.
google avatar

Deloris B.

Yelp
It's super busy, and it seems that everyone goes at the same time! If you are looking for a calm place to do your grocery shopping, this is not it. However, the selection is decent, and the produce is good. The salad bar and hot bar is unimaginative and closes too early, and there is a gas station that gives a Kroger customers a 3¢/gallon discount. This market is in the heart of the city, and the neighborhood market for VCU/VUU college students and many diverse neighborhoods (Carver, New Town, JW, the Fan, and the North Side). Needless to say, the parking lot is crazy, so drive slow.

Yelp
I entered kroger today and their customer service was ver rude . I ask for help and didn't receive any , would not recommend going again .

Keegan Z.

Yelp
This is the closest Kroger to my apartment, so I come here fairly regularly. However, it's more out of necessity than choice, since this is probably my least favorite of all the Krogers in the Richmond area. This place is ALWAYS packed full of people in the store and cars in the parking lot. (TIP: park FARTHER AWAY from the store in the lot to make getting out easier, it'll burn calories to walk a bit more and save you time, so go for it.) The parking lot is full of runaway carts, making you have to work for your space occasionally if you feel like dragging carts out of it. Maneuvering inside is a challenge given the small aisle size, and there are invariably people in the aisles too thoughtless to move to one side. This brings to me the next issue: clientele. Every other Kroger in the area I've been to has been great in terms of people being reasonable and respecting others' space. That's not the case here, with people being speed demons with their carts, or blocking aisles, or having loud conversations about what brand of adult diapers to buy. You may not be at the circus here, though you'll feel like you are. Product restocking is pretty decent, never needed anything I couldn't find here, though finding those items won't always be easy due to their sorting methods. If you loop around counter-clockwise from the entrance, you can usually get your bread items, your specialty items going through the middle aisles, then pick up frozen foods at the end before going up to pay. Seems to work, anyway. The large number of self-checkouts here is nice as well, and definitely drives down the wait time to ring yourself up and get on with your life. One thing I like about all Krogers is their discount/markdown bakery rack, here located near the donut case. However, you have a lot more competition for the good items here than in other Krogers. If you want some great deals on bakery markdowns all the time, head to the Kroger in Carytown. Basically, if you can go to another Kroger (like the Carytown one), do that. If you have to come here, park carefully (AWAY from the front), get the smallest cart you can to help in navigating the store and its careless clientele, and have good timing on the markdown bakery cart. Best of luck to you! Overall: 2.0 stars --------------- Pros: - Lots of self-checkouts make getting out faster. - Good inventory management. Cons: - Parking and getting out is a major pain. Park far from the front. - The clientele here will make you wonder how people can be so thoughtless. - For cheap stuff, you'll have lots of competition, unlike at the other locations.

Chris W.

Yelp
This is possibly the worst Kroger on the face of the planet! Shelves are rarely stocked, even before the pandemic. Produce will practical rot before you make it home with your groceries. You have a 50/50 chance of getting accosted in the parking lot. Most of the employees are more concerned about fondling their phones or chatting it up with their colleagues than helping you...some of the rudest employees you'll ever encounter. And, forget about trying to find a shopping cart or hand basket in the store. Avoid this place like the plague!!
google avatar

Mark V.

Yelp
We made the mistake of going here 20 minutes before closing. Maybe half of the customers were wearing masks (signage stating masks required), and the same percentage of employees were half-masking it. Just absolutely disgusting during a pandemic and with mandates in place. Love Kroger in general, but this location is lacking much.
google avatar

Thuy V.

Yelp
Torn about this Kroger. It is the closest and usually has whatever I need, EXCEPT when there is snow or VCU is just back in session. Parking lot and store is hellish during those times and also after work, or during games. Gas with the kroger card is generally the cheapest in the VCU area. After one storm could not get any heavy cream, although another grocery store also did not have it. Prices are probably the best for big box grocery stores in the city. I think the deli and meat counter people are pretty nice. Agree that the Carytown store is overall better, but can't beat location sometimes.

Myles B.

Yelp
Shelves weren't stocked when I went, and the produce I bought didn't even last three days. Produce was outrageously priced. If your looking for fresh food don't go here. The only good thing I found here was that whatever was on shelf that wasn't produce wasn't overly expensive, but you'd have to be lucky and find yourself going on a restock day.
google avatar

Mina C.

Yelp
I don't understand the bad reviews of this Kroger. It's incredibly convenient if you live on the MP campus, seriously like a 5-10 minute walk from the Siegle Center. Inside is clean, reasonably priced and quite affordable produce as well as packaged goods. But, because of it's location, this place is pretty packed whether you come at 4PM or 9PM. Also, parking sort of sucks, there's not enough space and sometimes you must park farther away.
google avatar

Asia D.

Yelp
Oh Kroger, good ole, sweet ole Kroger.. they never have spring water. Their produce is sad af. Some the employees are rude. The lines 3/5 times are stretching down the aisles bc only one side is open in self checkout. Lol they have mice as well. I will add that it's convenient, but the store is just bad vibes. Also never apply to a Kroger unless you like being treated like garbage
google avatar

Benjamin C.

Yelp
Pretty ordinary Kroger in a convenient spot. It's always pretty crowded and the aisles are a little bit disorganized and narrow. However, they have most of the items you would need for your overall grocery shopping needs.
google avatar

Trevor H.

Yelp
This is by far the worst Kroger I have ever been in. I worked at the Kroger near Robious road for years so I know what is expected of Kroger and it's associates. This place is far from that expectation. The meat and seafood market has the worst staff I've ever come across. Every staff member is constantly on their phone. Whether they are looking at it or talking on it through earbuds. It is insane. The people employed there are apparently not given or expected to exhibit any level of customer service training or understanding of the product. There was one instance where I asked the individual behind the counter about a pork shoulder. He responded " I aint got no idea man" and just kept looking at me blankly. I responded "ok thanks" and immediately left. Tonight I went in at 8:15 and asked the guy at the seafood department if they had any shrimp that was not frozen. He didn't even look up and responded "nope". This is on top of the fact that the staff is constantly unprepared and rude. There is an older gentleman, that seems real nice, that's always there, in a nicer outfit. I'm thinking he's the manager but, I wouldn't call him on it because he's always there when these things occur. So I'm sure it's he's not a manager. No manager would allow these instances.
google avatar

Annie B.

Yelp
I avoid this location because it is so busy, the selection is not as good as the Carytown location, and it's not the safest feeling environment. This is the VCU Kroger. Therefore, since I am not a student, I prefer to young adult Kroger in Carytown. This one for some reason is smaller, and like I said, there's more options other Krogers. It works in a pinch.
google avatar

Abbie C.

Yelp
Wanna go to Kroger!? Well skip this and go to the one in Carytown. I live within walking distance of this catastrophe and I will take the extra effort to drive away from it. Why?? It's a combination of VCU students and homeless people that make up the customers mostly. Not too friendly. But in addition to the customers, the employees don't add to the experience. Long ridiculous lines, not even worth it. You see parking? People can't park and it's always a struggle to deal with when a VCU event is going on that the cops have to ensure you're not taking advantage of trying to get free parking. Just go to the Carytown Kroger and you'll see a world of difference a few miles will get you.
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
I've gotta jump in with other reviewers on this one. If you are new to the area, just know, all Kroger's aren't alike and this is a poor example. The store itself is dingy and dirty. The meat/seafood/produce also seems dingy and dirty. Inventory isn't good. Service is slow and as a single gal I sometimes feel unsafe in the parking lot. Really, there's a Kroger that's clean with good produce and one of the biggest wine selections in any Kroger just a few minutes away in Carytown. Do yourself a favor and go there.

Yelp
Everyone loves the Kroger in Carytown....well, it is adjacent to one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in therefore, like any other store in a wealthy area, it is going to be a flagship store. This Kroger is frequented by students and is built in a "transitional" neighborhood. To expect this store to be the shining star in the Richmond Kroger arsenal is reaching in my book. I I go here to get a great deal on flowers as this location marks down still viable and healthy flowers. It is also on my way to and fro and, well, I am not a person who is overly loyal to a particular brand or location. That said, I just think it is ridiculous to expect the same product mix in every Kroger. Product mix is determined by what the customers buy or request. It is unlikely the people that shop here are going to be asking for Pate, it isn't that type of customer base. So, don't be surprised that it isn't as good as Carytown. And lastly, it probably does twice the volume of Carytown so it is less likely to be as clean and well kept. This store is fine for most people. If your are a gourmet or produce/organic is a high priority, this might not be your store

Yelp
kroger is the best place ever. I've never felt more welcomed and un-judged at a grocery store. They literally out the SH i. shopping, SH as in SO GREAT, ya know? when i'm on aisle 13 buying my post xmas discounted xmas candy, i never feel like i'm being judged. there are times when i buy eggs that may not be cage free but i know that my heart is cage free because i can endlessly express the love and affection i have for kroger. some people think that kroger is possessive well..it has possessed my heart and soul and religion

Yelp
Part of the issue with this Kroger is the comparison that is bound to be made with the Kroger on Cary Street. In essentially every way this Kroger is inferior. I mostly shop for produce with some meat/fish/dairy peppered in. And the selection of all of these in crummier than that of the other Kroger but for same price. I know that Kroger is not the best place in the world to shop for produce anyway, but in comparison to the produce at other stores and even other Krogers, the fruit and veggies here just look sad. The location of this Kroger is actually more convenient for where I live but given the choice I rarely shop here. There is one shining positive that does compel me to come here from time to time which is the Kroger GAS! This place allows me to spend my Kroger fuel points, so I usually fill my tank here when convenient. P.S. If you are interested in hipster people watching this Kroger has one of the highest concentrations of Richmond variety hipsters outside of Lamplighter. Update: Went here for groceries again recently. Saddest produce ever!

Yelp
I try not to go to this Kroger unless it is very early in the morning or very late at night. It's always swarming with people and my social anxiety wins every time. I find it to be not as organized as many of the krogers in the area..it kinda reminds me of Walmart *side eye*

Yelp
Still not as bad as the Kroger on Williamsburg Rd or nearly as bad as any Foodlion, but this place is pretty terrible. If you aren't a college student stay far far away from here. It's cluttered, dirty, confusing, and the lines are ALWAYS ten people deep. Good luck trying to just run in, grab a loaf of bread and some Twizzlers, and get out. It'll still take you 20 minutes (I know from experience on a Thursday at around 8pm.) The "Fresh" seafood and meats selection was questionable and the prepared foods didn't appear fresh. The Beer/Wine area sucks (compared to the other Krogers). Take the extra 5 minutes to drive to Carytown... you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I don't get why this Kroger only has 2/5 stars...I think it deserves all 5 lol. Every time I'm walking around inside, the workers are always friendly, nice, and helpful. During the days where it is packed and some vegetables aren't in the produce section, they'll bring it right out as soon as I ask. That rarely ever does happen though. I really like how everything is very organized here at this Kroger and the produce section is constantly tidy and full. Also, love the sushi tastings because they're so good and the cute asian sushi makers are so nice. This place is convenient, neat, always stocked, and pleasant to shop at with the helpful and friendly workers.

Yelp
The store manager Rick Williams constantly harassed me multiple times when I enter the store. I have already called corporate and filed a complaint about it I shop here four times a week. I don't know why they are singling me out of everybody in the store, but at this point I'm just tired of it and I'm looking to take legal action!!

Yelp
Swanky prices, decent selection, big bakery and big ice cream section, lots of frozen dinners, and alcohol. Symptoms of a supermarket next to a College. but if you look hard you can find items on "Manager's special" over 70% off. Overall it's too pricey for a thrifty person but If this place was a little cheaper I'd shop here all the time. As far s the food goes most of the stuff I've bought in this supermarket in general has been tasty and satisfying. The "generic" Kroger brand products in the store are pretty decent quality comparable to name brand stuff vs. other super markets which water down the quality. I particularly like the Kroger yogurts that they sell for. Delicious and nutritious. FOR MEN: To be honest my favorite thing about this place isn't the food at all. It's all the young college hotties you can find here on any day at any time. You must see it to believe it!

Yelp
This Kroger is centrally located to VCU campus, and carries a large variety at reasonable prices. The selection is not as broad as, say the Staples Mill location; but it's in the heart of RVA catering to college students and urbanites. That being said, I feel it exceeds my expectations for a downtown grocery. The location boasts a sizable "natural/organic" section, as well as decently stocked deli and wine sections.
