Huitlacoche Is a Celebration | Eater

"A mainstream Detroit supermarket where the family shopped; limited access to traditional Mexican ingredients meant the mother often had to improvise with available items to recreate the dishes she grew up with." - Rosa María Zamarrón

The employees are courteous but the store itself leaves much to be desired. The overall selection is adequate, however many items in the meat and seafood department are not available in the evenings. I don't think they restock at all during the day so if you go anytime after 4:00 PM, your selection will be limited to less popular or higher priced meats. Also, you need to grab a cart from the parking lot because they do not retrieve them. This is NOT the same in the Kroger's that are further away from the city. Regional or district managers need to take a look and compare to other stores nearby. Please do better.

This review Is for the wonderful associate IVORY who normally worked in the produce section today on Fathers Day 6/15. I was the store today around 12pm and there was no associate in the Flower department I explained to her I needed help and she explained she would help however she hasn’t ever worked in the flower section before but she could do her best to help. AND SHE DID AMAZING! The flowers were wrapped amazingly and she took her time and add each card and balloon to the designated flowers for me. I TRULY APPRECIATE STORE ASSOCIATES LIKE HER! THANK YOU AGAIN IVORY YOU ROCK!!!

had a great experience at Kroger today thanks to Taya! She went above and beyond helping me pack my groceries quickly and carefully. She was friendly, professional, and made the checkout process so much easier. Employees like her really make a difference—thank you, Taya!

I used to work here back in 1999 so everytime I decide to come here (which is not often), it brings back good memories. Anyway, I stopped here a few days ago because I needed a couple items that I forgot to grab at Walmart. Remind you, when I went they were restocking the (hamburger & hotdogs) buns in which was one of the items I needed. A customer was already over there looking....So, as I was standing there trying to figure out what I was going to get, considering the limited items on the shelf....i believe i was there for about 30 seconds and when I turned around an employee there (big black dude), was looking at me as if I was in his way of stocking the shelf. He was unfriendly, his energy was dead, he appeared to have an attitude. Everything you would see in a person who works just for a paycheck. I don't know what be wrong with people but it's free to be kind, sociable and friendly. If you can't do that at least pretend. So, if the store manager just so happens to read this review you really need to pay attention to your employees. When I worked there back in 99' we always had secret shoppers that reported their experience back to the store manager. I believe you should do the same. I probably won't go back no time soon but hopefully he's not restocking the shelves when i do 😏🫤

Ms. Lisa in produce made my day! Thank you again Ms. Lisa for your kindness and your time assisting me this morning . I’m writing this excellent update and using Ms. Lisa’s name with prior permission. Myself and our community appreciate you and your co team members for your dedication and hard work. I hadn’t thought of doing any updates to my prior reviews here on Google they were not so good . I walked in and over to produce and my mind was blown away! Ms.Lisa has it looking as if I stepped into a food magazine! Every single thing looked so fresh I didn’t want to stop staring at it! Rest of store looked clean. Some shelf restocking needed but other than that it is looking a lot better! Okay pictures below of what I saw this blessed and beautiful day! Next time you might visit Kroger give some special appreciation and love to everyone!

The worst, pick up was extremely late without even a courtesy call, went home and half of my order said out of stock (rice and canned tomatoes etc was out of stock) yeah right! Quality is so poor shopping in your neighborhood. I'm really upset can't even prepare my dinner.

This is the dirtiest Kroger I’ve ever shopped at. The floors are always filthy. The shelves are never in order. I only shop there if I’m picking up something simple like salt etc. Did I mention the nasty windows. No matter when I visit this store there is “always” something spilled in the aisle.. This store needs a new manager and a new make-over.

I approached a staff member who was working in the bread section and asked if they had any baguettes or hoagie rolls. She responded that she didn’t know what those were. When I began to explain, she interrupted and said, “I don’t know what those are—ask somebody else.” Moments later, I turned the corner and saw a display of hoagie rolls right in front of me. I decided to leave and go next-door to Aldi, this experience reminded me why I never like coming to Kroger
