Krone Inn

The hotel is situated at the main town square, next to the church. It is in a historical building and has been in the same family for a few generations. The manager and his wife are very welcoming and friendly, and we very much enjoyed meeting them. We stayed here just one night, and we enjoyed the rooms, with balconies overlooking the main square. The hotel has a sauna and an excellent restaurant. The dinner was a treat of many regional dishes. Nice hiking in the area, from Bletterbach Canyon to a small local lake and incredible airy views of the Alto Adige valley from the rim of the plateau.

Stumbled upon this restaurant for dinner with my wife and the food was incredible. We had the gnocchi with chanterelles and the beef with potatoes. It homie but also out of this world good. For dessert we had the house-made ice cream with strawberries and blueberries. SO GOOD. Kind and humble service. 10/10 would return.

We stayed here as part of a fortnight's walking holiday in the Dolomites. A very friendly manager - although rather overworked when we were there. Lovely old building full of character. No views compared to the other hotels we stayed in in other villlages. Absolutely superb food at dinner - note set menu is 5 courses and takes two hours. Room impeccable with very sunny balcony. Picnic strangely poor (why?) - with one unbuttered bun and boring ham, two apples, and a bottle of water. We are walking! We need food! Note the best walks through the Canyon have been shut for some months.

This hotel is situated in an old tradional building with nice atmosphere, in a small moutain village. Very friendly (family) staff, nice rooms with balcony, excellent diner and breakfast. ||Nearby is GeoParc Bletterbach (canyon), where you can do a 3 hours walk.

My wife and I arrived here in the early afternoon having walked for 6 hours in the summer heat - the hotel was totally deserted!||||We waited in the reception for nearly an hour, we even called the UK travel agent that arranged the holiday.....no-one came.||||Eventually someone did arrive it was very confusing indeed and we never found out if there was Wifi in the hotel.||||The room was lovely and the food was OK - but the initial experience tainted the rest of the stay. If this hotel wants to receive more favourable reviews they need to address the reception situation - arriving hot, sweaty and thirsty to a hotel with no obvious employees is not very good!||||I would not recommend this place to others following our experience.

I was several times in Krone and I must say this is the best place for me to relax. Absolutely no rush and delicious food. Authentic South Tyrolean atmosphere. Great for couples who are looking for a quiet place far away from city rush.

When we arrived at this hotel at 13.30 there was no one in the office at the back of the hotel (there is no reception desk). We hung around as no one seemed to be around. A passing guest very kindly offered to find someone for us. After a further wait an elderly lady arrived whom we assumed to be the grandmother of the family who own the hotel and, after consulting the computer, showed us to our room. While we were having dinner I noticed a man in the kitchen who from time to time was engaged in conversation with our waitress and kept pointing at me which I found a little disconcerting. Eventually the waitress, looking rather embarrassed, managed to explain that we needed to take our passports to the office to register. Of course we would have done that earlier if there had been anyone in the office to register with. After dinner when we went to the office we discovered that the man who had been pointing was, in fact, the owner. Since he spoke good English we couldn't understand why he couldn't have come out of the kitchen and spoken to us himself (and maybe apologize for lack of service earlier in the day) rather than send the waitress.||Our room was spacious and comfortable though I didn't think it warranted a superior rating as it was overlooked directly be the balcony of an adjoining bedroom set at right angles to ours.||The food in the restaurant was good and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient.||The hotel is in the pretty main square in Aldino where there is a very helpful tourist office.

Absolutely faultless in terms of price and accommodation.|The restaurant is, frankly, one of the best regional kitchens we have EVER encountered.|Wonderful regional cuisine.|The walking in the area is excellent.
