Decided to let Blue Pea be our next new Thai resto to try.
Ordered delivery at 11:15 and received the order at 1:13 :/
Food arrived hot/warm thankfully.
My mom ordered fried shumai, avocado fresh roll, and garlic noodles with salmon. I ordered khao soi.
I have a tendency to be picky when delivery takes longer than expected, so as I inspected the food, best believe I had my food critic goggles on. The shumai $8 for small 8 pieces. It was okay, not memorable. Hard to mess this up. Probably won't order again. Avocado fresh roll looks different from the photo. See photo attached. Mostly tasted the lettuce, cucumber, and avocado; still refreshing regardless. Next time, wish they could add the mint (menu food description) and sesame seeds (photo description). It also looked to have cherry tomato on the photo, not sure about that though. Their peanut sauce brought the flavor punch. This was $10. My mom says she would order this again.
As for the garlic noodles and fried salmon, she said it was flavorful, but too tough for her teeth since it appeared overfried. We were actually expecting the salmon to be seared, not fried. I tried some of her leftover garlic noodles and I enjoyed it! They were chewy and garlicky. This was $17.
The main event was definitely the Khao Soi for me! I had to commute somewhere before digging in when it arrived, but I placed the curry in the microwave for three minutes and assembled everything in a bowl and was in heaven. The Khao Soi came with chicken, cilantro, pickle, shallot, and lime. I ordered it to be spicy. It wasn't too spicy where I needed my mouth to cool down while eating, it was the kind of spicy that you could still taste the flavor of the food and keep eating. The spice and lime juice complimented the creaminess of the coconut curry. It was so rich and certainly, a bit addicting. The pickles and shallot were a great contrast. I'll probably request extra cilantro next time since I barely even tasted any. Definitely recommend! $15.
