🌟 5-Star Review for Krystal Tex-Mex 🌟 Krystal Tex-Mex absolutely deserves top marks! The atmosphere was perfect—warm, welcoming, and ideal for both casual meals and special occasions. One of the standout moments was having the chef personally bring the food to the table—a rare and thoughtful touch that made the experience feel extra special. The food was delicious and well-prepared, and considering the quality and service, the prices are very reasonable. Parking was also super easy, which is always a plus in my book! Highly recommended for anyone looking for great Tex-Mex, excellent service, and a relaxed, comfortable setting. I’ll definitely be coming back!

10/07/2025- Happy Taco Tuesday! Ordered three chicken tings taco and horchata! Excellent! Delicious! Yum! I had a good lunch time good experience.

Upon entering, very friendly staff. This was my first experience. The wings was mediocre not flavorful, more batter than original wings. The quesadilla was ok. I will has to try something different to see if I has a better taste quality. Very clean, and nice hospitality.

Very happy with this addition to the neighborhood even if this part of 12th is mostly Mexican restaurants. Tacos were fantastic, need to go back and try the mole from what I’ve been told! They finally have a liquor license too and their happy hour can’t be beat! It isn’t fancy or looking to be something it’s not. Will be back, especially for happy hour. Also, not sure about the “Tex” part but definitely has the “Mex”.

A new under the radar spot with excellent food and friendly service. See the pics. Fair prices. Clean. Simple and relaxed atmosphere. Glad to have them in Brookland. Planning on eating there again. The enchilada mole special was delicious.

The food was the cheapest thing I’ve ever bought, 4$ for one taco is amazing. The staff is around 2 people and they’re just amazing people. The to-go container was very secure, and their special sauce is legendary. This even has outdoor seating. My only complaint would be the atmosphere 10/10 for everything else.

New mexican restaurant in Brookland. We tried out the menu and they even have some vegetarian options available which is good. Service was great with some minor issues with the check. Other than that we need some desserts!

Food is good and service is top notch. Happy hour specials are good. The place is owned and run by people who care about the food and atmosphere. They are new to the area but have restaurant experience. A good local spot to support. They are open to listening to their customers and want to be a part of the community.

Great food! Please keep them in business! Some of the tastiest Latino food I've ever had, at very reasonable prices. This chef's taco pastor and the chicken pollo enchiladas, were both a revelación. Such original flavors! So If you live anywhere near NE DC, and you like really savory Tex Mex, try them out! This place deserves to have long lines -- but I only sampled exactly two dishes. If you dislike spicy foods, don't order what I got and ask Jaime what is not so picante. (Repeat: I loved them both! And I want others to go there and keep them in business! So many other restaurants have opened and closed in that same location in my 42 years in Brookland. Krystal TexMex, based on my tiny sample, is the best of all of them. Please! Try their other dishes! I'm too full to order any more right now but I wanted to get my opinion out there and help them stay open. My two dishes ended up being pleasantly spicy, a mellow, long lasting tingle.

Delicious food, clean restaurant and great service. My son and I came here and had one of the tastiest bunch of tacos I've had in a while. Even my picky son ate them -- and loved them (he wanted me to be sure to add that). Great flavors and very fresh ingredients. We'll definitely be coming back.

I came here with friends and everything was amazing. We had the shrimp quesadilla, burrito, enchiladas, and guac. The guac was excellent! Even my picky friend loved her meal. They are getting their alcohol license next week- we will def be back for more!

Stopped by with my son and it was phenomenal! Service was friendly and fast! I had the tilapia taco and a shrimp taco and My son had four of the langua and they did not disappoint at all. We are definitely coming back!
