K's Dugout

Stumbled upon this place while visiting a friend in Chicago! We were looking for a nice spot to watch the playoffs. Amazing service, friendly crowd, and great drinks!

My wife Bonnie Rae and I had a fantastic morning here. John was bartending and his exceptional demeanor and service made our experience delightful. They have tons of TVs with a variety of sports available. I was able to watch soccer here and was thrilled they have this here. Definitely coming back!

Group from Iowa in town for the weekend. Called up K's and asked if he had the Iowa State game on and he said yes. Very accommodating and great atmosphere to watch the Iowa State CYCLONES

John is the best bartender ever. Super fun and makes a mean cocktail. Great conversation and atmosphere.

This bar is an absolute joke. I’ve never been to a more disrespectful place than this. I had worked two doubles and was picking my husband up, so while I waited, I came outside and put my head down, and was extremely disrespected and was being accused of “nodding out” because I was sitting with my face looking down to the floor while I was cleaning out my wallet. This bar is an absolute joke.

Rude bartender (white woman). NOT RECOMMENDED!!! She also charged me more.

Place is a classic. Met some people at the bar and even hung out with them the next night. Everybody's welcoming and last time I was there (few years ago) the price was right.

A super friendly bartender with decades' time-served in this locale offers a refreshing greeting. A typical neighborhood bar of sports on TVs and a jukebox. They offer minimal (if any) food, but welcome take-away and delivery.

This place is basically a giant ashtray. It caters soley to... how to put this...middle aged folks who look like they have chain smoked for 40 years and live off nicotine, beer, and black coffee. Kind of the Sturgis Rally crowd, but without the nice bikes. Lots of raspy voices. Tried to go with some friends recently during Covid, since they have big outdoor tents up (outdoor, yet somehow are completely smoke-filled) and they actually would not seat us. (We're all middle aged as well, so I assume it was a "you're not one of us" things.) Welp, more power to em'. Smoke on, guys!

If you are a skinny jean, man bun wearing, paper straws will save the world, if someone disagrees with you it's racist, I'm better than you since I drink craft beer nobody knows, "gluten allergic" type snowflake - you will not like this bar. If you want to hang out after a long day at work with a drink, conversing with strangers over staring at your phone, you'll like this place.

Always a great place to enjoy Da Bears, Da Cubbies, Da Bull and Da Blackhawks with a friendly crew from around the neighborhood. Used to be Cop Shop turned younger but not too rowdy crowd and still a great place to bring your buds. Plenty of space to grab a table, enjoy some brews, chat the night away or watch a thrilling game. The staff is always friendly and the patrons are, too. If you aren't family when you walk in, you're family by the time you walkout. ....unless you're an anti-social pr*ck who doesn't like to have fun. If you're from the neighborhood like I am, you're only a few steps or blocks away from an enjoyable, inexpensive night of laughs, drinks and food.

Bartender is awesome. Would be great if management wouldn't have news on TV(happened to be CNN) however any news channel is never good for a bar.

Bartender charged me 2$ for soda water even though it's always free at every other in the city limits. She was also playing pool while bartending so we had to wait forever to play.

I live around and decided to give it a try one late night. I went with a friend and honestly we walked right out. We weren't even greeted or acknowledged. I honestly felt as if the place was a little racist...I decided to give it a try one more time since everything else was closed. . Same thing. The bartender was a little bitchy with her attitude. Mind you we had never been there before and you would think we would Be treated a little nicer. We only had one beer and left. Never again.

You will not find a better neighborhood bar! This place has been around in the community forever and it has gotten better and better each year. They serve the coldest and crispest draft beers around and have a great selection of cocktails! The owner is wonderful and does her best to make everyone feel welcome and be a part of the K's family!

I recently had an unpleasant experience here, that while not the bar nor the bartender's fault, I think could have been handled more tactfully. My dufus boyfriend insulted someone (or two, I still haven't found out), though not loudly nor agressively. I bartend as well, and when a similar situation occurs, I pull them aside and tell them to shut the fuck up or you're outta here thing, without anyone else being the wiser, unless the offender is hammered, it's habitual, or punches are thrown, in which case, buh-bye. Instead, BF was asked to leave (he wasn't hammered, he's just an asshole sometimes, and we've been coming to K's regularly for a year or two), which in turn humiliated him and me. It's a fuckin' bar. People act like assholes, learn to deal with it AND keep your customers. I know it's the bar and/or bartender's prerogative either way, and respect that. I just don't know if I'll return, despite loving the bartender and the place. That's just me, though.

This is a small neighborhood bar, no food (except the occasional pizza and popcorn), and great drink prices. $2 domestic drafts? Daily Specials to boot? Hell yeah. There is definitely a crowd of regular patrons who are very friendly and have likely been going there for years. The staff is friendly and accomodating, and there are often local league sports teams here after their games. The TVs are also great for watching whatever sport you're following. Good vibes all around here.

Since Covid hit so hard in the city, its great to still see neighborhood bars like K's stay open. I've been coming to this bar for years and they've always had the best prices and best selection of beers and cocktails around. Definitely one of my favorite go-to places for weekend fun!

Dart quest 2010 continues.... Looking for the closest dart bar to me eastwards, I read K's Dugout possessed cork dartboards for steel-tipped darts. The thing about steel-tipped darts is that they can't land into electronic dartboards, but soft-tipped darts can land into cork dartboards quite easily. Dart setup: Two dartboards all the way in the back of the bar. These dartboards are poorly maintained with large lumps in them. Because of the large lumps, the spider (metal wire frame) is raised and popping out of the board. They best call in replacements as this bar is useless for darts. Drinks were cheap and there were TVs but it kind of felt like it was kind of an If I don't know you, get the bleep out type of bar.

Man, I love this bar. My friend and I decided to go watch the Super Bowl there last week and it was such a good call. The staff (Karen) was so nice!! And the beer specials were awesome (Green Line Tap for $3.50!) Everyone there seemed like they went there a lot and were so friendly. They don't serve food there (other than some chips and stuff) but the night we were there, they had decorated everything and had huge bowls of chips out on all the tables. And at half time they had Calo's brought in for everyone- on the house. It was such a treat. I can't wait to go back!

By far the best neighborhood bar in my opinion. Granted I'm not spending all my time and money at the bar as much these days, but this one has all the things I look for in a local. Games, booze, locals, and dank. "Oh but Moe, the dank, the dank!" Yes Carl, it is that secret ingredient that makes the local so special and dear to our hearts. That and targets I can throw sharp objects at and tables I can hit balls with sticks on. And of course. The Highlife.

Great "Old School" Tavern on the corner of Foster/ Winchester! Not a dive really as the name implies but actually been redone recently with a new bartop, floors, etc. Good selection of local beers, cold and they def clean the lines for a great tasting suds! Gets pretty crowded on the weekends so get there early to get a spot/ ask for Patty! Get Dat Did

I've been going to this bar for 13 years ever since I moved here. Best neighborhood bar in all of Chicago. Open 7 days with early hours for third shift workers. Pool, darts & friendly bartenders. Mixed selection of craft and domestic beers. Jukebox and ATM onsite although they do take credit cards ($15 minimum). 10+ TV's for all you sports enthusiasts.

Living less than a block away, my boyfriend and I were excited that there was a bar within close walking distance. We went to the bar for the first time yesterday. The bartender was extremely nice and attentive. Today was a different story. The bartender from yesterday was just ending her shift, we were able to get one round from her. The night shift bartender is where the problem began. She was more into playing with her hair and flirting with regulars to know that we even existed. Yesterday, we closed out our tab on a credit card. No where in the bar is it posted that there is a minimum, nor were we told that there was a minimum. When we went to cash out tonight, however, we were told that there was a $15 minimum on cards. We said no problem and went to the atm to get cash. When we came back, the bartender was too busy flirting and eating her pancakes to acknowledge us. Being a bartender for 6 years myself, I know that it is imperative to make new customers feel welcome in order to secure repeat business. I also know that it is beyond unprofessional to eat while behind the bar. Sadly, due to our experience, we will never be returning to K's. If you are a new customer, don't bother going after 7 PM because you will be ignored and neglected.

K's is great little local pub on the northside of the city. They are always sponsoring softball teams i play with and the bartenders could not ever be cooler. Drinks are pretty standard, although i always seem to be sucked in to their Lemonade/vodkas for $2 a pop! If you are going out for a long nite, stop by here first and get a couple drinks in ya for cheap, or stay and drink the whole night for $20-$30! Cant go wrong...

K's, K's, K's...I like K's. It is roughly 200 steps from my front door to K's, and still don't get to stop in as often as i want to. I like this bar. Very friendly bartenders, cheap strong drinks, and a juke box. and pool. I have been known to really put the lampshade on and start downing shots of Root Beer schnapps. They had a lot of bottles on the back bar but no RB. The bartender dug a bottle up from a cabinet behind the bar for me. then put it on ice for the next one! Can you say friendly service? I say "say hello to my good friend Alex Hamilton--you've earned him."

This place is awesome. Patty made us drinks on Friday night (9/20) and was SO friendly and welcoming. My boyfriend requested "a good vodka drink" and she made a pear vodka, lemonade and 7-up cocktail that was SO GOOD! I sometimes feel nervous about going into neighborhood spots, but felt so welcome here the entire time.

Amazing bartenders, great beer, cocktails...honestly, it's my "cheers". So lucky to have this place a 30 second walk away. By FAR the best spot in the neighborhood....no contest. Way cleaner, way friendlier, and way more happening than any other joint. A go to for anyone looking to hang out, watch a game, play pool, trivia or all of the above.

I have to say that I have avoided this place for many years do its close proximity to what was then the local police station (it is now gone). Past experience in my early days taught me that cops+drinking=no good and I certainly wasn't going to go and drink in "their" bar. Well the cop shop closed and started seeing some upgrades and more "regular folk" from the neighborhood going in and out of there. Lots of tv's playing a variety of sports, good and sizable draft beer selection and some snacks. The bartender was very friendly and held her own as the bar was fairly full prior to our group stopping by.

My favorite dive bar. The bartenders are great and nice. Awesome prices, like out of this world good. Jukebox, pool table, and sometimes they give out popcorn. Really just a great neighborhood spot to unwind.

I love, love, love this place! This is coming from someone who would rather be on the dance floor than sitting at the bar. I live kitty corner from K's so lets just say convenience gives it a major plus. Really what makes it awesome is the atmosphere inside. Its laid back and has a real neighborhood feel. You feel as if you are at a friends place kicking a few back. I have been to K's during a busy night and during a slow night and still had fun. On the slow night I was with a friend and out of now where the bartender asked, "Do you guys want hummus and chips?" Uh... yeah! They have a juke box so the music is up to you and the bar peeps around. The beer selection is great if you love microbrews but they also have the major players like Miller and Guinness. The mixed drink are great too! I say you won't know unless you try it out so stop on by!

We live across the street from this bar and love to stop in at night. There are a lot of regulars and each night seems to bring a different crowd. Great place for cheap beer, but they also have a nice draft selection, friendly bartenders, games, and Tuesday trivia. Can't beat this place for a neighborhood hang.

The bartender is very attentive as well as hot. This place has very good reviews for basically being a dump on the North side away from all the other glitter bars of Chicago. Not much here but a bunch of drunk locals, though this bar seems like one of the few places where the bartender actually cares about their customers.

K's Dugout is small, no frills neighborhood bar. The bartenders are friendly and sometimes prepare hot dogs and brats on their grill in the back for their patrons. K's will play the game on their many TVs, but also have a pool table, a jukebox and Big Buck Hunter. K's is a definite place for someone who just wants to relax, shoot the shit and drink a nice cold pint.

customers run the gamut of park district softball teams, local drunks, drug dealers, sports fans and well...neighbors. in my opinion, the music's a little loud for what this place is. if you're nearby with friends, its a stop worth taking on a bar crawl.

My new corner bar could not be better, or it could, if it was on the south side of foster that would be better, for me. but other than that, i l.u.v. love it. cheers big ears.

Simple place. $8 pitchers of Lite. Chilled glasses and chiller core in pitcher. Football on TV. Free pool and darts. About as unpretentious as you can get.

Great free pool without any obstructions and cheap pitchers of PBR. Get alot of local flavor with the regulars and super-friendly bartenders.

Great neighborhood sports bar. The kind of place where, when you inquire about food (they do serve oven pizzas), the bartender offers you some leftovers from the holiday party. And the guy next to you strikes up a conversation about football with your boyfriend, even though he's 31 years your senior. And then you get a sample of someone's homemade Kahlua. Good times!

Great bartender and nice little spot. We were served a fresh basket of popcorn when we walked in and then were offered another basket only a little bit later. The music was a blast from the past, but was refreshing. They've got a pool table and darts, not much else you need...

Lookie here. K's went and upgraded there beer selection. Seriously. It is the little things y'all. I am slowly warming up to the place mostly because they seem almost indifferent to their clients. K's is like that cool kid who did whatever they wanted to do and you just wanted their approval -or something.

Great hangout for sure especially during games and when bartender Jodi is working. Drinks are cold and quick to pour another. Check it out!!

This is hands down one of my favorite neighborhood bars. Over 50 beers, pool, pinball, sharp darts, 10 HDTV's. The bartenders are cool, the drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere can't be beat. Check out Bears games and trivia night for the most fun!

It is exactly what you expect it to be. Neighborhood people coming in to watch a game or have an after work beer.

K's is a great neighborhood bar that you don't want to pass by. The prices are the most reasonable I've seen in Chicago with a great beer selection.I especially like the bucket of beer specials, $ 11 bucks for 5 beers, That's hard to beat! The bar was remodeled a few years back and you might be surprised at how nice and clean this place is. There's lots to do here too, play pool, shoot some darts, watch your favorite Chicago sports teams on the many TV screens, or just have good conversation in a warm and friendly atmosphere. All of the bartender staff give fast "service with a smile" Kay's is really one of the nicest all around neighborhood bars you'll find.

I don't see the d.o. so much as a bar but rather the room in my house that I don't have and I can pay a small fee to grab a beer and play darts and pool for free. The bartenders are great; prices are dirt cheap, and you really can't go wrong, unless you get tricked by the jukebox into moving your song up in the rotation. I would recommend going on a Friday or Saturday when Lisa is bartending.

By far the best nights to go are Wed & Fri when Patty B is working. She is the best bartender in the city and can whip of exotic cocktails. Just tell her what you like and she will create something that is always fantastic.

this is the cheap bar in my neighborhood. i have only been here a few times its seems like an older crowd hangs out here, they have a Jukebox, Pool table, Big buck hunter and 2 Dart boards. it's a Quite small bar with mostly locals. so if you want a bar to watch Chicago sports with nothing fancy this is the place, It's Right by the 50 Dames bus Foster stop

I have to disagree with James. I frequent the place quite a bit at night, and I have never had a bad experience. I have only been there a couple of times in the day and the bartenders and clientele were very friendly and helpful. It's pretty busy on the weekends with a very young crowd, the liquor selection is exceptional, they could use a few more draft beers on tap, but bottle beers, there is a huge selection to choose from. Beer is always cold in a nice frosty glass, and the new night bartenders are a treat!
