Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Kub Kao Kub Kam is a colorful spot in Phinney Ridge complete with a full bar and plenty of seating—and they’re open seven days a week. They serve tons of classic Thai dishes like tom yum soup, crying tiger beef, and rama noodles. " - Kayla Sager Riley

Google
Love this new Thai place. After spending time in Thailand this year, it's the best Thai I have found in Seattle. Great atmosphere!

Updating my first review after a second experience. I ordered the same thing last week as I did today, pork drunken noodles with 3 star spicy level. Last week I got the best drunken noodles I've ever had. Some seriously amazing food. Tonight I got maybe the worst... The noodles were way overcooked, the mushrooms tasted like they had gone bad, there was almost no sauce and the flavor itself was completely different. Very disappointing. Also, they forgot to add any spice to my partner's order and gave her the wrong rice. I guess if you want to roll the dice and get either the best or worst Thai food you've ever had, this is the place for you.

Had a great time. Super excited for this spot to be open in the neighborhood. Food was good, service was great, enjoyed the atmosphere. They have good vegetarian and vegan options, too. César was great and I’ll be back to check out their line of signature cocktails.

I was excited to try new place but it’s beyond disappointing. For a restaurant that specializes in Kub Kam (as it’s in their name), their Kub Kam food is below average. Yum is my favorite category of thai food. Their Yum woonsen was more like a tomato stir fry. I don’t know how you mess it up this bad. It’s also overpriced. The Nuea Nam Tok was very salty. It’s also mostly basil leaves. Do better!

Ordered pad kee maw, dungenouss crab fried rice, and tom yum hot pot. Pros: tastes good (best is the fried rice, worst was the pad kee maw) food came fast. Cons: portions were small, very salty. This place has enough variety and things I haven't seen before, might be worth a second trip but it's not "value" food.

Ordered takeout. Got Pad Thai chicken spice level 2 was decently hot and Tom Ka soup which was a bit too much broth but tasted great.

Google
Delicious! Best crab rangoon (hi-lo wonton) around! Very high spice scale, 2 spice felt like 3-4 at other places!

I did carry out… so I can’t rate the atmosphere, but the spot looked so cozy and beautiful. The food we ordered was delicious!

Yelp
Thai cuisine is plentiful and ubiquitous in the greater Seattle area...Mom & Pop, Market Street style, regional, fusion, upscale, and everything in between. Like coffee shops or pubs, one is bound to find a fave Thai spot in most neighborhoods. Kub Kao Kub Kam caught my eye driving along Phinney Ave N, so me and The Homie stopped by on 12/16/23. Upon entering, this new spot is much larger than viewed from the street. I'd describe the interior as tables with bright lighting, the bar counter, and the dim section with outdoor tables minus the umbrellas. Guess where we ended up sitting? Thankfully, my eyes adjusted so I could read the menu. The Homie had an iced Thai coffee, I stuck with water. We shared an appetizer platter with grilled chicken skewers (satay), tofu squares, egg rolls, crab cream cheese packets, three dipping sauces, and a pickled condiment. He had additional grilled chicken satay skewers. We also shared Tom Kha soup with chicken, mushrooms, lemongrass, and cilantro. Very flavorful and warming on that chilly Saturday evening. Pretty decent and a solid choice for folks in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood.

Yelp
We were craving something tasty for a cozy Friday night at home with Netflix, after a long work week. We live in Phinney and luckily remembered seeing that this new Thai restaurant was opening on Phinney Ave. We looked them up and saw that they just opened yesterday, and so we were really excited to give them a try! We ordered to go, but went in to pick up our order and it's a really charming place! The ambiance is really nice, with cozy lighting, softly playing music, and thoughtful decor. My boyfriend spoke to the owner Ron, who was such a nice guy! He was so welcoming, and spoke with such pride of his recipes that he couldn't wait for us to try! And WOW! Absolutely delicious! Everything was extremely fresh and flavorful, with a nice balance between rich and delicate. We chose the jade curry, eggplant stirfry, Thai fried rice, and crispy egg rolls, all with tofu - and they even have the option for extra tofu, so we chose that for everything! Jade Curry: This was perfect. The curry was so flavorful and full of vegetables that were cooked perfectly, with the most perfect bite and crunch (tricolored peppers, carrots, eggpant, peas, mushrooms, onions, basil - such a good mix!). And the colors! Honestly, it is a beautiful dish (even in a to go container!). I cannot wait to order this in house and see it in a proper presentation! Eggplant Stirfry: This was...also perfect. The sauce was beautiful, and this dish also had large pieces of tricolored peppers, which really elevated it beyond just the basic green or red. The size of the veggies were nice and big, and so satisfying to bite into - again, they were cooked perfectly with a wonderful bite and crunch. Thai Fried Rice: We love a good fried rice to pair with an eggplant stirfry, and their fried rice is absolutely fantastic. So much egg! And again, full of beauitiful veggies! Really delish! Crispy Egg Rolls: So crispy and crunchy, which is so satisfying! There is nothing better than biting into that perfect crunchy layer, and dipping into the plum sauce really made these sing! This is a great new addition to the Phinney neighborhood! I highly recommend it, and we definitely can't wait to go back and order again! (Because we ordered to go, we decided to wait to pics of the food until next time when we eat in the restaurant!)

Yelp
The food was 5 star and the service was efficient. We ordered quite a few items so got a great sampling of the menu. The restaurant was clean; very pleased

Yelp
Really solid Thai spot in Phinney! We got 4 different dishes, not pictures of all but it was all really great and flavorful! The Main Street noodles, fried rice, pad see ewe and kao soi. Cute and cozy interior. Very clean. And good portion sizes.

Yelp
This food was disgusting...this was the worst Thai food I have ever had and I have been to Thailand, I grew up in LA where Thai food is abundant. Don't eat here...EVER. For the price they charge you... you would be better off eating your dog's kibble for dinner. Not only was it way too spicy (I ordered a 3 start but it ate like a 7 star) that I couldn't even eat the food, the noodles were undercooked and hard to chew... there was very little protein or veggies.... for $18 they gave me cheap inedible noodles that cost them about $2 to make.... this is total amateur hour... DON'T EVER EAT HERE! WHY CAN'T WE HAVE GOOD THAI FOOD IN SEATTLE????? URGH.............

Yelp
The food was absolutely an undeniably delightful. We ordered the chicken pad Thai, the chicken skewers and the chicken sweet-and-sour, all very delicious and well prepared. I personally would like to thank Cesar and Marissa for their kindness, patience and amazing service. I highly recommend this Thai restaurant...Best I've had yet.
