Kubu at Mandapa

Great view and calming atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The place feels really calming. The theme of the restaurant is really great. We celebrated our anniversary here and it was great. Tho some of the food were not up to our standards but they kindly replaced it. We had a great experience dining here.

An exquisite dining experience with exceptional service within a beautiful setting. We were welcomed and very well looked after by our wonderful servers Nersi and Delia. Their knowledge of each dish was impressive and totally made the experience unforgettable. This is a must do for anyone who appreciates food and is in Bali.

Exceptional food in an Exceptional surroundings. Innovative but grounded menu with all ingredients local and adjusted during the seasons. You need to book ahead. I am sure this will get a Michelin star soon as its better than many Michelin star restaurants we've been to. Spectacular

Kubu at Mandapa offers a truly unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel completely cared for — attentive, thoughtful, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure everything is perfect. No request feels too much, which makes the service exceptional. The food itself is simply outstanding. Each dish is crafted with care and creativity, delivering flavors that feel both refined and memorable — a real culinary journey. The setting makes it even more special: private bamboo “cocoons” nestled in the jungle by the river create an intimate and romantic atmosphere. Although you’re in a restaurant, it feels as if you’re dining just the two of you, surrounded by nature. A magical place where fine cuisine, impeccable service, and a breathtaking location come together perfectly.

I have to say I’m usually not a big fan of fine dining experience and preset menus, but these guys are killing it! The course comes with 10 dishes (3 of them are deserts) and we also got the reserved wines pairing (1600k IDR, so a little bit pricey but worth it). For red they served 10 years old Bordeaux, champagne was veuve clicquot, and my favorite was Sauvignon blanc. Every dish was absolutely perfect, tasty and perfectly cooked. They also were able to accommodate pescatarian diet. The atmosphere sitting next to the river is unforgettable. It’s in my top 3 restaurants in Ubud for sure, might be #1 for us now.

If you can’t pay for staying in the Ritz Carlton then at least you should try this fine-dining experience at Kubu Mandapa 😉 We were so lucky to enjoy our meal in one of their bamboo booth tables! Super private and romantic where you can hear the river and feel the wind from the nature. Food of course was delicious. Also the staff are all so friendly and patient to introduce each dish to you. *the wine pairing is worth to try!

Kubu is a wonderfully pleasant restaurant sitting along the river at the Ritz Mandapa. We opted for the a la carte menu this evening and it did not disappoint. Everything from the bush to the bread to the dessert was exquisite. If we had room in our stomachs, we would’ve definitely tried the tasting menu that was offered. The squid ink pasta was delicious as well as the lamb chop.
