Seattle Restaurant Openings for 2022 | Eater Seattle

"I found Kudedon’s fast, downtown-friendly formula similar to Pane Pane’s—offering online-orderable rice or salad bowls topped with seafood, tofu, or beef, including the namesake Kudedon bowl with cubes of sashimi like tuna, salmon, and grilled eel plus shrimp, snow crab, tamago, roe, and microgreens—positioned conveniently on Fourth Avenue across from Rainier Tower." - Adam H. Callaghan

Kudedon Chirashi Bowl Restaurant

Google
This place and their food is INSANELY fresh, so delicious. I’m visiting Seattle for the first time and WOW I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place. I got the negitoro & creamy salmon bowl and it was beyond fresh, tasty, creamy, and the fatty tuna had the best combination of creamy and tart to it. This place did not disappoint and in fact, I’ll go as far as saying it’s one of the best poké places I’ve ever had. It’s located in a business building so seating is limited, but it’s worth it.

Google
Didn’t even have the chance to photograph the bowls, they were so good! Highly recommend the Chojang Poke, it’s with the very special Chojang sauce which takes the bowl to another level! Black Sesame Tofu is another good choice especially for vegetarian. You can use all the stools and couches in the lobby so enjoy the meal!

Google
Poke and chirashi bowls are very very overrated. Small portions given the price (almost $20-30 per bowl). The fish didn’t taste the freshest and each cut seemed to be low quality with very little marbling. “The seating area” is just a lobby with a few barstools so more of a takeout spot. Although it is convenient for a work lunch, I will not be returning again due to the quality, portion size, and ambience of the place.

Google
we got a chojang poke and a kudedon (MUST ORDER. the best chirashi bowl in Seattle I'm actually not joking)

Google
Update: disappointed that they’re no longer on Uber Eats! This has got to be one of my favorite lunchtime spots! The dons are always fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, I’ve just moved out of the area but will be sure to order from them next time I’m in town! Sometimes they do forget the seaweed pack which is treat but tasty regardless.

Google
What a gem. I’ve been proselytizing to everyone about this place since I first discovered it. I probably eat here two times per workweek. Their chirashi bowls are incredibly creative, exciting, and delicious. The beef bowl is great too. Such a welcome addition to Seattle’s already fantastic poke scene. The owners are lovely as well. Be sure to check out their equally-good sister restaurant, Pane Pane, just down the street. Keep it up, Kudedon. You’re killing it.

Google
Incredible flavor. The best bowl I've had. The only negative is the rice isn't perfect. Really hard to make perfect sushi rice cause you need an expensive machine. But it's good enough. The flavor of the sauces and freshness of the fish are top tier

Google
One of the best Chirashi bowls I have ever had. They serve all different kinds but I ordered their signature Kudedon and it was phenomenal. The restaurant is essentially take out only however there are a few seats (6) in the professional building you can use to enjoy your meal. Although all the pieces of fish and seafood are fresh and delicious, the rice is also flavorful and amazing. It's seasoned so perfectly with just enough vinegar, furikake, pickled cucumbers, and probably so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and cannot wait to return. You're getting an amazing deal for a beautiful and delicious Chirashi bowl!

Yelp
Super friendly, very fast service. Located on the bottom floor of an office building, there is very little bar seating (maybe eight stools) overlooking the bustling streets. My tofu and black sesame bowl was packed with fresh veggies, rice, dressing, tofu, and pickled diakon. After a busy day and many days of travel, it was the perfect fresh and healthy meal I needed to get me feeling back to normal. I also had a couple bites of the salmon bowl and it was melt in your mouth delicious. 10/10.

Yelp
Decent chirashi bowls in an office building lobby. I went here for a lunch around 1pm on Tuesday and it was not too busy since the peak times are usually a little after 12pm. Seating is limited to 6 counter seats (3 on each side of the lobby) with some low tables in the lounge area. I ordered online to minimize wait for picking up the order, and their estimates are accurate (10 minutes for online order) I got the Kudedon bowl which has salmon, tuna, ikura, albacore, unagi, shrimp, tamago, shiitake mushroom, and radish. These are cut into cubes rather than the sashimi slices you would often find in poke or chirashi bowls elsewhere. The bowl overall is decent, but for $20 before tax, it is a bit pricy as it was not filling and there is actually not that much sashimi. There is just one piece of small shrimp but there are a good number of cubes of the other things. The sashimi was fresh overall, but the tuna was a miss since I was basically eating partially frozen tuna cubes like partially melted ice cubes which wasn't the most appetizing. The citrus soy sauce was good so that I didn't feel the need to add anything to make the bowl complete. Overall, only worth to try once if it's convenient, since there are many other better chirashi bowls options elsewhere, but if you're in the area and don't have time to venture to the other areas, this is okay.

Yelp
Took the food to go - fast service and no line at lunch time on a weekday. The food was pricey. Opted for the sukiyaki beef which was a bit too salty and the entree/rice ratio was 30/70. I paid for too much rice! 3.5 outta 5

Yelp
Fast and fresh! Delicious sushi bowl that was filling and yummy. Found this spot on Google Maps and glad I did!

Yelp
Small shop tucked into a business building. They have a few seats next to the counter or you can eat in the lobby area. I got the kededon bowl and I liked the variety of fish and their flavors. The kick of citrus flavor was tasty as well. The portion size seemed slightly small though.

Yelp
Kudedon is a office building lobby Chirashi spot where you can find a generous bowl of delicious fish cuts quickly assembled. I went with their signature dish that was $19, which comes with a wide variety of fish including a few bits of unagi. Fish tasted of good quality for a fast casual place and you'll get your bowl within minutes. Service was nice. Definitely a takeaway play since you're in an office lobby otherwise.

Yelp
Decent place to grab lunch in the downtown Seattle area. This place is tucked away inside a corporate building. There is some bar seating and couches. I got the signature Kudedon bowl for about $20 which was on the expensive side imo for portion (but honestly everything's expensive nowadays). Service was quick and friendly. I only had to wait 5ish minutes for my order. Fish tasted pretty fresh and I like how it's cubed up. The rice was seasoned well. They offer additional ponzu / soy sauce packets. Overall would come again if graving fish bowls in the area!

Yelp
Wow! High quality, quantity at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend this restaurant! Heard about this place through a friend and it was phenomenal! Salmon IKURA - had sooooo much salmon. And the salmon just tastes so fresh. The mix in the two salmons was excellent and kept each bite interesting. The salmon portion was huge and the ratio of salmon to rice was perfect. The citrus flavor was nice and light, not at all overpowering. Chojang poke- sooo much fish!! Beautiful presentation. Seasoning was a bit overpowering though so would probably try the classic kudedon bowl instead next time Overall very high quality fish with lots of protein at very great prices!!! The only downside is this restaurant is only open for brief hours on weekdays only which makes it very tough to order from or pick up. It would be great if the hours were extended for dinner or to weekends.

Yelp
Honestly been meaning to try this place for a long time and I finally did it. Didn't know what to expect at first, but after I saw the menu, the name the place was quite literal. It was a dedicated chirashi bowl take out spot. Basically you just pick the option that has the protein you want and that's it. The options were pretty simple. The Kudedon, which I ordered, had all the fish. So tuna, salmon, albacore tuna, and yellowtail. Honestly felt like I wasn't getting much fish with all the other ingredients that they put in the bowl, but it was alright I guess. The ingredients seemed fresh from what I can tell. So the food was good. For the price though, I'm not so sure if it was worth it. It's downtown, so food is usually overpriced. There wasn't really a crowd here. It was pretty dead, so getting your order in and out was reasonably fast. There isn't really any seating here since it's basically in the lobby of an office building. So best thing to do is find a spot inside PCC across the street or find some outside seating by Westlake. It was fun to try out once, but I don't think it worth getting it a second time sadly. But if you're craving a pretty chirashi bowl or want to just give it a try once. Go for it.

Yelp
A friend posted on his social media of a delicious looking poke bowl that I HAD to check out. He even mentioned that it was really good so I tried making my way down but failed as they were closed. BUT on another time, a friend who worked in Downtown was able to grab take out! It's located next to Keybank and across of PCC on 4th Ave. Parking can be VERY difficult to find around the area, but there might be some street parking a few blocks away. The hours are targeted for downtown workers for ONLY lunch time (M-F 10:30 am-3:30 pm) which made it kind of difficult to try if we worked the normal M-F 8/9am - 4/5pm shifts away from Downtown. I got the Negitoro & Creamy Salmon. My entire bowl was minced fish compared to my boyfriend's and friend's Kudedon Bowl. There were two styles of negitoro (minced tuna): spicy and regular. The regular one was beautifully prepared with its pinkish hue. I had added shoyu over all the fish so the saltiness from the shoyu gave it a nice balance of some saltiness. I actually really like the texture of this one as it did remind me of the negitoro nigiris I've had back in Japan! The spicy one had a sweetish flavor with a little kick of spiciness to me. The creamy salmon also had the same thing with a sweetish flavor and a hint of spiciness. All really great flavors and combo together! The fish wasn't fresh but the flavors of each bowl were amazing! Especially the negitoro and salmon bowl which was definitely hands down my favorite! If I get the chance to visit again, definitely would love to get another bowl from them!

Yelp
The Kudedon Bowl was quite amazing. It has Salmon, Albacore Tuna, grilled eel, shrimp, Tuna , and Ikura(orange roe) along with some shiitake mushrooms, greens on a bed of sushi rice. The staff was friendly and quick with the order. The place is in the lobby of one of the building in 4th Ave in Downtown Seattle so be prepared to either take it to go or sit on the lobby sofa or some of the stool by the main doors to the building. That said, don't be deterred by that, the food is worth it. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is one of the restaurants for introverts people. Because they Only 3 seats in the whole restaurant Jk they only sell togo. That's why their chirashi bowl is very fresh and has an affordable price. 15.99$for this beautiful bowl. I enjoy sitting here watch people walking by.

Yelp
Sad to see that this place doesnt have many reviews nor many visits as this place has really good chirashi bowls! I ordered the Black Sesame Tofu. The description for it states that it is firm, but it was more of a soft tofu with no crisp edges. It was better that way than i think if it was cooked a little more. Every ingredient meshed well together. They were in layers so the tofu was topped ginger sauce (a sweet ginger mix) with bell peppers and baby greens; second layer was wakame salad, cucumber, and radish; third layer was sushi rice. I honestly could not finish it. Had to eat half for lunch and half for dinner. This is hidden away in the building next to Capital Grille. Chef was patient and nice when i was confused on what i wanted for lunch. Their red entrance door is technically their chef door, but if you do come in through this way, you have access on the right to order right up front. Overall, I will definitely come back here again. One of the best bowls i have ever had in a long time.

Yelp
I wanted to much, to have a mouth watering meal here. The reviews looked good, and pictures looked equally delicious. I had the excuse to go, a friend from a prior life to catch up with. Let's do it. So what happened... I mean maybe it's was the end of the day, but honestly not impressed. I wanted a little less of the bottom/rice.. and a little more of the toppings.. of what I call the "Good Stuff"... and if that was slightly better quality, maybe I wouldn't have been so disappointed. To be fair, it isn't a bad looking, I got the Kudedon bowl, figured their namesake dish would be the best bet. It looked complete, top down, but wasn't as full as I expected. The flavors seemed muted, and not all there... again, end of day, maybe I got the leftovers... Okay, so I have read all the other amazing and great experiences that folks have had here, but I didn't quite get the same. Maybe I'll give it one more opportunity, but we'll see.

Yelp
60 degrees and sunshine on a Friday in Seattle felt like a treat yourself type of day so a chirashi bowl at a place only open during the week was fitting. I have no idea how this place has less than a dozen reviews when it's been open for at least 9 months but it could be because it's tucked away inside the lobby of a building. Seating is limited with 6 stools and I liked how I could enjoy my food in peace and quiet while people watching. * KUDEDON I had to get the namesake bowl (the worker said the negitoro & creamy salmon is also popular). It had a bit of everything (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, seared mackerel, grilled eel, shrimp) topped with roe, snow crab, pickled cucumber, yellow pickled radish, microgreens, marinated mushroom, and omelette pieces. The presentation was beautiful and it came with a seaweed packet on the side. I thought the bowl was bland and too plain, and maybe it's because the fish is diced up in small cubes or there's too much going on but I couldn't really taste the individual ingredients. However I found all the ingredients to be fresh and there were packets of soy sauce and ponzu sauce available to add flavor. Kudedon is worth checking out especially if you're a downtown worker and next time I'd get a bowl that has a sauce.

Yelp
For a quick, low key chirashi bowl, this place is great! Price is right too. And look how pretty this go-to bowl is!

Yelp
It's sad they they have such restrictive hours! It's in the heart of Belltown, so it's mainly open for the office workers in the area, hence they're not open for dinner unfortunately. I wouldn't say they're the best Chirashi/poke place in the area (FOB poke will always be my favorite) but the portions are *very* generous. In fact, I ran out of rice before I ran out of fish! If you're not a big eater, this is easily two meals. And if you have a big appetite, this is still very filling! Not bad for $21 after tax and tip. The fish was fresh, and the toppings were super tasty. FOB Poke does have better rice than them though. Beware this is takeout/delivery only, but the building it's in has a few seats. Again, it's mostly for office works to take back to their break rooms. Hopefully they expand their hours because I will be coming back! They have lots of interesting combos on their menu.

Yelp
Look guys, this place is really good. It's a bit pricy for your everyday lunch (bowls range from 14 to 17 bucks) but the portion size is satisfying, and every component is meticulously prepared. And it shows. Every bite is fresh, flavorful and ultimately yummy. And I just have to add: I'm not usually the type of person to gush over plating. Im more likely to just stuff food in my mouth because I'm so hungry. But look at these bowls. They literally look like works of art. Even I had to pause (for just a few seconds) to admire how gorgeous the bowl looked.

Yelp
Didn't even know this place existed but it's fire! Basically chopped up chirashi bowls good for office workers in downtown Seattle. I think it's related to pane pane because they share a stamp card. I got the og aka kudedon which had a nice variety of fish and egg with rice. It didn't look like much but it was a filling lunch. Make sure to ask for their house made hot sauce as it is actually spicy! Would recommend for a filling and it's not cheap but worth trying lunch!

Yelp
Found this inconspicuous gem while strolling and I'm so glad I did. This place specializes in bowls topped with raw fish (or tofu/beef). Their menu is simple yet you'll surely find something that would tickle your fancy. I personally think their namesake bowl, the Kukedon, is the best item on the menu. The Kukedon ($17) has a little bit of everything: sashimi cubes (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, seared albacore tuna, seared mackerel, grilled freshwater eel), shrimp, SALMON ROE (!!!), SNOW CRAB (!!!), omelette, and flying fish roe on sushi rice, topped with microgreen! Where else can you get a bowl with so much variety and premium ingredients such as salmon roe and snow crab? Service is professional and efficient. Overall, I'm elated to have found this little takeout booth. Highly recommended! 10/10
google avatar

Emily Z.

Yelp
I have been here a few times and LOVE their chirashi bowls. So fresh and tasty with a generous portion -- the best combo. I plan on trying a different item on the menu until I complete them all and find a favorite. Until then, I would encourage you to come and try this new restaurant!

Yelp
most slept-on chirashi in seattle i don't know why no one is talking about this place. kudedon chirashi bowl restaurant serves super fresh, aesthetic, and delicious chirashi bowls for a wonderful price. i think its a office workers favorite but like for real if this was close to me i could eat this everyday. there are around 10 chirashi bowl combinations to choose from! i got # 1, the kudedon($17.99) which is their special chirashi with sashimi cubes (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore), unagi, shrimp, ikura, snow crab meat, tamago and tobiko. the bowl itself is so pretty but it also comes perfectly seasoned with their own ponzu. the pickled daikon adds a refreshing element and the various fish roes add additional textures that creates a very harmonious bowl. its a balanced meal, delicious, and all under $20. don't know how thats possible in this day and age overall I'd definitely come back and recommend you all to pay this place a visit! nothing beats it with both value, portion size, and flavor!!

Yelp
A bit difficult to find this, as it is nestled between buildings. The actual entrance to the restaurant looks like the entrance to the office building. We accidentally walked in through the entrance under their sign and then realized that we should have gone through the other door. We got here early, before the noon-lunch time crowd -- so good that we got there early, because we had not problem finding a spot to sit in what looked like the lobby of the building, but within 30 minutes, there was a line to order and no place to sit! They have quite a few chirashi bowl options. I had trouble deciding and finally ended up getting the Negitoro & Creamy Salmon bowl. There is an option to get half salad & half rice or completely sub out the rice for salad. I subbed out half the rice for salad. I do wish they had been a bit more generous with the salad and with the roe. Both the fatty tuna and salmon are ground into small bits, so if you prefer chunks of fish, this is not for you. That said, the fatty tuna was delicious! The spicy mayo and yuzu chili sauce had a pleasant kick to it! I didn't need to add anything else to enjoy it (no soya sauce needed!).

Yelp
This was so good! Best "poke" I ever had and the fish is so fresh. When I come back to Seattle this is definitely my go to spot. Just remember to look at the limited hours.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
We cannot judge the food since it was closed at 2:10 pm on Wednesday. I their own sign as well as Yelp show it should be open until 3:30 pm. Perhaps it is out of business.

Yelp
$20 lunch and I'm still hungry. More of a comment and hope they add more calories to the meal. The food was actually pretty good. Would prefer to leave comment without star rating.

Allison S.

Yelp
Sorry, this place is not good. The rice is cold. Cold rice! The "seared tuna" was cold! So it was obviously "seared" and then refrigerated. They put seaweed salad in the bowl... not limu, but seaweed salad. The tuna was so cold, it was almost frozen. For over $20, this was bad. I work in the building and was in a rush so went there but... never again. I was shocked when they said my order was ready before I sat down, now I know why. It was all frozen and they just dumped it into a bowl and covered it with a lid. To be honest, I couldn't eat the fish and threw it away. I basically had cold rice, seaweed salad and takuwan for almost $25. This quality bothers me as a Japanese/Korean from Hawaii. Please do better. At least warm rice and thawed fish.
google avatar

Mikey D.

Yelp
Just a small place hidden inside a building. Decent food for the most part, tuna was alittle frozen but not the end of the world. Service was quick but I did go when it was dead around 2pm.
google avatar

Iris P.

Yelp
what a creative take on chirashi! this is a small store in downtown seattle near PCC. they have a creative menu, but as a chirashi lover, i chose the classic chirashi bowl. compared to a normal chirashi bowl, the fish are cut in small cubes. i found that the salmon was fresh, and the vegetables were delicious. some of the fish were less fresh, but overall still good; perhaps it's the small size of the cubes that makes it seem this way. i personally prefer larger cuts, but this was a fun try.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Big fan. Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, quick turnaround, and all reasonably priced. Highly recommend for downtown Seattle.
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
Extremely delicious. It's somewhat tucked away inside of an office looking building (there is a sign outside but you have to enter the building to order). I got the negi-toro and creamy salmon and it was very tasty.
