Kulturzentrum Reitschule

This is a very interesting place in Bern, where you can experience the remnants of Swiss counterculture from the second half of the 20th century. The place is meant to be safe for everyone, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender identity, and so on. In this sense, it's quite common to see expressions of different social movements. What I like the most about this place is the flea market that takes place on the first Sunday of every month. There are some hidden treasures you can find if get there early enough.

place may seem threatening if you only know it from tabloids. you might get some weird looks upon entering, depending on your clothing and who you are with. people are friendly and talkative. coffee and food is good. ein paar kritische blicke beim eintreten. gäste und personal sind nett und offen. gutes essen und kafi.

Worth a look, quirky little place

This place has some good punk shows. It has a decent skate park in front with a mini ramp, a bowl and a small street section that smells like piss but is pretty fun, you can usually skate here if it’s raining as well. Bit sketchy at times, watch your stuff.

Whatever other people might say about this place, they're wrong. The uptight Swiss need to chill out a little and start to actually enjoy bars, clubs, cinemas, music venues places just like Reitschule which is all of the above rolled into one! Anyway, what I'm trying to get at here, is that you definitely won't regret coming here, in fact, it'll be the best night out you have in Bern.

Least safe neighborhood of Bern. If there is a concert you're best advised to go as a group, else avoid this place (unless you are looking for drug dealers).
