Where To Eat In Uptown

"You’ll find over 60 different varieties of hot & cold teas, punches, slushes, and espressos at this boba tea spot. Kung Fu Teas (very) thorough menu means you can basically try a different boba every day for two months, so you’d be hard-pressed not to find at least one drink you love. Fun fact: the to-go cups have vacuum-sealed lids." - adrian kane, courtney sprewer, veda kilaru, john ringor

Unfortunately, It’s just not that great flavor wise. Flavors: Taro tea was weak. Barely had any taro flavor. The lemonades tasted like soap. Was not good flavor wise and missed the mark completely. There are so many places that make AMAZING BOBA and UBE tea. Namely, cozy rice & noodles made me a fantastic drink! That is who I will go back to. I will probably never order again from them

We took a ride up north on Broadway looking for a mango smoothie that a friend recommended. We figured it would be perfect on a 90-degree plus day to help cool us off. We didn't have the exact address,  just knew it was closer to Argyle. When we saw the line of people standing outside of 4925 North Broadway we knew we had found the right place. Most of the people were ordering tea, but we got mango slushes.  Very cold and refreshing on a hot Summer's Day.

As always love kungfu tea! The best thing to get here is taro milk green tea! 30% sugar

The order was made pretty fast. I ordered a Rosehip Milk Tea with boba and the taste was both refreshing and extraordinary with no overbearing sweetness. The only thing that should be kept in mind before entering the store is to either have cash ready to order or order through their app directly. Even the app's order processing was easy breezy, so no complaints there either. And yeah, the store has only chairs(no tables) placed around the perimeter meant for waiting while the order is made, I guess. Or the tables might've been moved due to the pandemic restrictions but it gives a vibe of a pick-up only place rather than an Eat-In Cafe.

Google
This KFT consistently has the best chewy and perfectly sweet boba and their teas are milky and fragrant. The owners are very nice too and they are hard working. I do think KFT in general has sweeter teas, so make sure to take one level lower than you think. I always come to this place when I am shopping in Argyle! The location is super convenient.

Google
Maybe it’s because I haven’t had boba 🧋 in a while, but the Green Tea Boba was just okay. A bit on the pricey side too, but that seems to be the norm for most spots around here.

Google
you can't outdo the doer, they have a kiosk that accepts card now, i miss the seating area, that's where i used to work on my class projects for college, i don't think my slide deck was even that good but the boba was, maybe that's the power of boba, it's an academic weapon

Callie Johnson

Google
the inside of the shop looks as though it wasn't finished and there is very limited seating, i'm assuming that's the result of COVID regulations. cash or order through their app only, they do have a sign for that but it's easy to miss! the tea is pretty good and their pearls were very yummy.

Yelp
So I'm walking down Broadway, and I see a storefront for Kung Fu Tea, but with a logo I'd not seen before. Is this the one I know and love only with different branding? Is it a totally separate place, only "borrowing" the name? Nah, it's the KFT we all know and love, regardless of the sign above the door. Now, I've had some milk teas in name only, you know the ones, the milky water at which someone yelled "TEA!!" This KFT is nothing like that. The Oolong tea taste was obvious from the first sip, and the milk amount was just right. I also requested this as half-sweet with less ice. This was faithfully executed, half sweet, half by volume ice. Bonus points where it comes to Boba, these were soft with just the right amount of give, and not those over-firm things that secretly made a deal with your dentist to chip your teeth. No complaints about the service, they cranked out teas as fast as reasonable in light of 4-5 drink pick-up/delivery orders.

Yelp
This was the perfect stop for a delicious milk tea. My go to is an almond milk tea with less sugar and boba and it satisfies my craving every time. The service is always great and the ambiance is comfortable and cozy. Other notable favorites include the rose hip milk tea, taro milk tea, and the lychee black tea. If you're in the area and in need of a quick refreshing drink be sure to give Kung Fu Tea a try!

Yelp
I think this is a solid and standard boba shop for American standards. I came in here again on 3/29/23 and the lady behind the counter was friendly and got our drinks out in a timely manner. I always opt for 50% less sugar and it came out perfect. I'm disappointed that they still don't allow indoor sit down dining, but fortunately I love very close to here so it's an easy walk back home. This is one of my more frequented boba spots in the city.

Yelp
Wandering around Chicago and looking for a refreshing treat. Knowing the chain we stopped in here. Bit of a turn off how the inside was- Covid leftovers I'm sure but still. The tables and everything were just stacked in the back sloppily. Plastic up and not very clean. The menu is extensive. Like legit extensive. But not too much- it's like just variations of the same stuff you can customize. I got a Thai tea. Love that you change the sugar and ice. I got 30% sugar and it was perfect for me. They did not give me light ice but it's ok. The boba was great- not as much as I like usually but great nonetheless. Overall excellent flavors. Lady working was not super warm but friendly enough. Sadly they do not have any alternative milk but they use milk powder which wasn't so harsh on the stomach. Ringing in at $20 for three drinks felt a bit steep but it's ok.

Yelp
The Princess Peach collab is so cute. They always do it well at Kung Fu Tea, and 30% sugar is still delicious! Parking can be difficult to find

Yelp
This is the place where I get my taro milk tea. Very fast service. I always double park with blinkers get what I want then head out. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the milk tea I got here! We ordered through DoorDash and everything came packaged really nicely and was still cold. I chose the Rosehip milk tea with bubbles and I will say that they gave a really great amount of boba. My only issue is that you can only choose 100 or 70 percent sugar at least on online ordering and for me even the 70 was SO sweet. I personally prefer just a hint of sweetness in my milk tea, and especially since this one had the natural sweetness of the blueberries in it, the extra sugar just felt a little too much. I'm excited to come back and try some of their other offerings!

Yelp
First, the boba was overcooked. But the more important reason I am leaving a review is because when I took a sip of my boba later I tasted what seemed like a piece of plastic. But when I spit it out it was a piece of steel wool!! Which could do some real harm to your insides. Not sure how the boba drink is made or how this piece got in there, but this needs to be looked into before someone gets really hurt.

Yelp
If you want a standard bubble tea Kung Fu Tea definitely hits the spot. This specific location is in Uptown surrounded by several other asian cuisine restaurants so it's a nice place to stop after lunch or dinner. The workers here are a little rude and not very helpful. There's an ordering kiosk inside which you have to use if you want to pay with a debit or credit card. If you try ordering with an employee at the register - they only take cash and they'll tell you very rudely like you should know (even though there were no signs indicating that).
google avatar

Yelp
I loveeeee, absolutely loveee Kung Fu Tea's classic milk tea. It is so refreshing and milky. I'm very picky with my pearls and KFT definitely makes the best. They are cooked to perfection -- if you like you pearls to be smooth and boiled all the way, you'll like it. They also have a great amount of sweetness to like honey to the pearls. I tried their taro milk tea and it was good as well! ALSO, they only accept CASH.

Yelp
If it were owned by cows, and was a manure processing plant, it'd be Dung Fu Tea. But if that were the case, I think it'd be pretty gross - like, almost as gross as swimming in Lake Michigan without a radiation suit on. OK, not almost as gross as that. But anyway. Let's mooooooove right along with this review. I have no idea what is going on with this KFT. It is comfortable and has plenty of seating and lots of patrons of all sorts of demographics. They seem friendly enough. No problem there. But... The real problem comes when I taste my drink. Actually just looking at it was a problem (my ex gf said the same thing about me). I know what lemon black tea is supposed to look like and I'm obsessed with it - all the time. This lemon black tea looks more like a green tea and was filled with some kind of fruity bits which were not lemon. Maybe orange or grapefruit or pineapple or something. I'm gonna put my money on pineapple even - the drink even tasted kind of like that. It had a much higher sugar content than most KFT, also. So the flavour of the tea and the fruit made it almost rancid - drinking it was just not happening. I think they made it wrong or they made the wrong drink and I'll tell you what ever concoction they did make is not one I would ever want to order. But I also suspect that they did not make it wrong, and they just make their LBT like that (ew). Funny thing is, they're owned by the same people that own the other Chicago area locations, which are not bad (Chinatown) and very good (Evanston). But this one dropped the ball so hard that it burst when it hit the ground. And not in a cute way like a bursting boba, but in a tragic way, like a Bubble Tea split open and emptying all its contents out onto the hard, emotionless asphalt of Chicago's North Broadway.

Yelp
It was just okay. There's definitely better bubble tea places out there. I got a taro milk tea and it just didn't taste like taro like I've had in the past.
google avatar

Yelp
Warning: cash only I tried their new drink: sesame matcha. Really simple and good!! No taste of powder. I'd like stronger matcha flavor but this is fine. Spacious with two group tables and a couple of 2 person tables.

Yelp
I love the boba tea here! They have a really convenient walk up window. They are cash only which is not bad, but just good to know beforehand. I usually get the Thai tea with tapioca, but they have a lot of fun flavors and add ons like jellies. I like that they are taking a lot of Covid precautions to keep everyone safe.
google avatar

Yelp
Mediocre and overpriced with so so flavor and unremarkable texture. I didn't enjoy the experience which is disappointing because I had high hopes tbh.

Yelp
Fast and sweet. Good drinks around $6-7. Fresh toppings. Ordered green tea with herbal jelly. Will buy again.

Yelp
Not all Kung Fu Teas are created equal. This one is 100% cash only (at least, during the time of our visit) and it's not as good as my favorite Kung Fu Tea on Buford Highway in Atlanta. This Kung Fu Tea is relatively new. It opened last year (2015) in Chicago Uptown on a stretch of North Broadway that contains a lot of Chinese, Vietnamese, and other Asian restaurants and businesses (e.g. Tank Noodle). This store has interior seating for 20, maybe 25 people, tops. We visited after dinner on a Sunday night. The store wasn't busy. There was one table of kids playing games. The floor was dirty and sticky. Three of us ended up ordering a large KF Oolong Tea with boba ($3.50 + $0.50 for boba), a large KF Oolong Milk Tea with no toppings, and a Red Bean Wow Milk ($5.00). I ordered my oolong milk tea with less sugar (30% sugar) and it tasted like it had no sugar. Also, the boba in my friend's oolong was mushy. I tried the red bean wow milk and it was just okay. I think we were in agreement that these drinks weren't as great as our reliable KFT back home. I give this Kung Fu Tea 2.5 stars rounded up to 3. Average. I took pictures of the menu which you can find below: Menu (1 of 2): https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kung-fu-tea-chicago-5?select=wnXzk0licw0Y2D1Es30bDw&userid=j14WgRoU_-2ZE1aw1dXrJg Menu (2 of 2): https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/kung-fu-tea-chicago-5?select=Vd5JeAsupGxmFHc27lfLkw&userid=j14WgRoU_-2ZE1aw1dXrJg Metered street parking is available on North Broadway. We Ubered.

Yelp
I came here for a business meeting, and also to get out of a really rainy day. Whenever I am in this area I will be coming here for my Boba Tea fix. They have so many options with flavors, milk types, and drink selections. I got the almond milk tea, which was made with Lactaid milk I believe. I loved it. It wasn't too sweet and had the right amount of Bobo (tapioca). The small is small and intimate. They have a lot of chairs and two big tables that fill the room. The service was pleasant and they knew answers to our questions.

Yelp
I decided to try Kung Fu Tea after seeing a Fashion Guru/Blogger having an obsession with the bubble tea that was being served here. When i went to the Broadway location with one of my good friends i have a mixed experience about the bubble tea served at this location. I got two different teas, while my friend got one. They were colorful I will tell you that, my first bubble tea was the Kung Fu Bubble Milk Green Tea while my friend got Taro Milk Tea. The Milk Green Tea was done amazingly, and the tapioca was pure happiness. While my friend highly enjoyed her Taro Milk Tea ( I had to have explain to me what Taro was). Before we left I ordered a Coffee Milk Tea with Boba (of course), the only issue was the sweetness. This beverage was so sweet that I almost was not able to finish it, because of how sweet it was. Had it had one extra pump of syrup in there you would think your teeth were getting cavities by just drinking the beverage. It is a little bit odd that this establishment was cash only, but I would go back for more of the Bubble Milk Green Tea.

Yelp
It's amazing that they've added delivery due to COVID-19. We normally go through delivery when we're leaving work and the tea is made quickly, precisely, and delivery is almost instantaneous. When picking up, the make sure to verify our order is correct and that the person picking up is getting the correct order. We've gone through various oolong and black tea combinations with herbal jellies and pudding, and continue to come back time after time. My only complaint is that there isn't a location closer to me! Very good tea with boba, regardless if it's a hot or cold day.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm Taiwanese, so I've have the pleasure of having bubble tea from the motherland. Kung Fu Tea is good, but too sweet regularly and the milk to tea ratio, you'll unfortunately get more milk. You can customize your sugar level though. On drinks alone, I'd give 4 if I catch them on a good day. ***However, I have to take away stars for their customer service- this location is the worst! (I've been to the Chinatown and Evanston locations for comparison) After purchasing $20+ worth of drinks, I had 2 of the 4 drinks in hand, plus straws, and when I went to pass one to a friend, my drink fell to the ground. I get it.. my mistake for being clumsy, but I can't imagine I'm the first patron to do so. I even tried to help by putting napkins down to prevent the spill from spreading. Not once did either of the employees offer to make my drink again (as any decent establishment would). Then, my friend specifically asked the girl if she could, and she flat out said no, we have to buy another one. Bottom line- smart customer service will keep a loyal customer. Every time I'm in Argyle, I always went to Kung Fu Tea and spent at least $20, and we all know it doesn't actually cost that much.... Kung Fu Tea is a franchise, so idk if it's truly this location's bad management, or the girl was too young and incompetent.
google avatar

Francis R.

Yelp
Got to stop by this second location up in Argyle. I gotta say that I'm a bigger fan of this location than the Chinatown one. In my opinion, the drinks here taste better and you won't end up waiting in as long of a line. Double bonus! Similar to it's other location, CASH ONLY! So bring them dolla dolla billz y'all. On my visit here, I went for my usual coffee milk tea with boba. SOLID! I also got to try the grapefruit yogurt juice, which was surprisingly pretty good. Reminds me of those yakult drinks. Not bad. Anyways, I'm sure I'll be back through the next time I'm up in the area for lunch or groceries. If you're able to get one of the bigger tables they do have an assortment of games you can play to kill some time. Connect four anybody? 'Til next time, cheers!
google avatar

Karell B.

Yelp
One of the best places I've gotten bubble tea at! They have a great selection of different types you can choose from. Tapioca is well made and isn't hard. Mango slush is my favorite & it is REAL fruit. Only downside is it is CASH only.
google avatar

Rosa J.

Yelp
(Public announcement) ATTENTION: Kung Fu Tea in the Uptown location only accepts the heads of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Alexander Hamilton, and Andrew Jackson. If you have the Jimmy Fallon's Capital One, Peggy's Discover, or any other credit cards with celebrity endorsements, please leave the plastic money at home. I was prepared since the location in Chinatown was also cash-only. Hubby and I were excited because trekking down to Chinatown from Albany Park would take lots of time and efforts. Kung Fu Tea has a diverse beverage menu. You may customize the sugar content, amount of ice, and choices of toppings on any drink. I don't always go with the milk bubble tea; often times I like their "fruity" drinks, like the passion fruit green tea and the orange green tea. Normally, a medium-sized drink will run under $4, while a large-sized drink will cost in between $4.50 to $5. This particular location just had their grand opening. I came across with Kung Fu Tea's Yelp business page when I was conducting my routine "Yelp" session during my evening hours before bedtime. I would see myself a regular to this particular location since it's only a bus-ride (CTA Lawrence #81) away from my apartment.
google avatar

Danielle C.

Yelp
I've had Kung Fu Tea in Evanston so I know what the tea is like. I still don't think it's that great. It tastes rather artificial to me. I think I don't really like whatever creamer they are using. If you get 100% sugar you will get diabetes from the cup so I recommend 50% or less. Also it's cash only for under $8 which means buy a drink with a friend.
google avatar

Elaine M.

Yelp
Employees are sullen and not very friendly. They look like they don't want to be there. Not helpful to new customers unfamiliar with the menu, or even people just asking the flavors of snow creams / shave ice. The menu originally listed like 7 snow cream flavors, but all but 3 were covered. Of those 3, only Thai Tea was available. It took forever and it was just okay. We would have preferred Mango or Green Tea. Would rather take my money to someone who appreciates it. Management, please remind your staff that they are the face of your business and represent you to the customer. Minus another star for being cash only.

Yelp
Wow, all I can say is this is the worst bubble tea service I have ever had. I went on a Saturday around 7:30pm. It started when I ordered. There was a couple people in there already served and we were the only 2 for a new order. The girl didn't even talk or greet me, she had Apple earpods in her ears...I asked her if the Taro was purple (since at Bingo Tea the Taro isn't purple) to which she said yes. Okay great, so she speaks. Then I tried paying with card to which she just pointed to a sign on the side which said cash only. So after that unfriendly service I sat and waited. I saw nobody making the teas and wondered when that was going to happen. I saw one other worker who was busy changing all the trash bags. The trash bags in the main room, the bath rooms, the back room. I was thinking is that the guy who is supposed to make them? What the heck. Then a big group of new customers came in and ordered. He finally came back to make the teas after about 7 minutes of waiting. So he starts making the drinks. He actually made a couple of the orders from the group that came in after us first and serves them. I start to get angry. Then I finally see him to make what I think is mine...He started by briefly rinsing the mixing cup he used for the previous drinks ingredients in water after making somebody a black tea. He then drops my plastic cup on the ground but then picks it up and starts putting the drink in there! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! That has to be a health violation. I was wishing I hadn't paid yet so I could just leave. So he finally makes mine in a dirty cup and at this point I am like whatever, these people are terrible I will just try it. I try mine and it tastes like black tea. I have had their Taro before and I know what it tastes like. This was more black tea than Taro. He clearly didn't rinse the mixers well. My friends was eventually made too (also after people who came in and ordered after us - and even the same drink as her) and she wasn't happy. Just such terrible service with what definitely is a health code violation probably. Terrible terrible, I have been to the China town location which was better, but because of this experience I will probably stick to Joy Yee or Bingo Tea most likely.

Yelp
Not many places serve HOT boba tea....this is the place to try it! My favorite is the hot taro milk black tea with tapioca pearls. In my last visit my tea was served very hot. Make sure you let it cool a bit before using a straw for the pearls so you do not burn your mouth! The hot teas come with a special lid. The lid has a removable and attachable anti spill opening that you usually find with coffee lids AND a straw hole that fits regular size tapioca pearls. Don't forget this place is CASH ONLY. Additionally, there is a FREE PARKING lot north of the building.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Nearly identical in terms of drinks as other KFTs. Solid, but inconsistent. Today I had an excellent taro milk tea with perfectly chewy tapioca, but I typically find it to be not chewy/sweet enough. My theory is that this is determined by how busy they are - the busier they are, the fresher the boba. Nice and chill when you come later at night though when it's not as busy. Tradeoffs...
google avatar

Allison T.

Yelp
Tastes like same Kung Fu Tea from other locations. The loss of star is that my tea bottle was wet with drink residue, even though server had wiped it. That is an unpleasant, sticky feeling.
google avatar

Christine L.

Yelp
Stopped here for a drink after eating in the area. As the name suggests they serve mostly tea here, with a few other tea-like desserts. As of this review they are cash only, so be sure to stop by the ATM before going here. I had the Green Tea Milk Tea, and it was decent but more milky than tea-y; it would have been better with more tea. It was more like tea flavored milk. They have a few tables, and the two larger ones were overtaken by people studying and were probably there for a while. If you're a larger group, you might have trouble finding a place to sit, our group of 6 ended up having to push some of the smaller tables together and round up some chairs. The cleanliness here may need to be addressed. My friend said the bathroom was pretty dirty, I didn't dare venture in there, and there was a press-on nail on the floor that was pretty noticeable. Overall this place has ok tea and ok facilities, don't go out of your way for this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Thank you for being open on Christmas! I hate that you have to work on a holiday bit it was so nice to get bubble tea! I typically get the a passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly and the Kung Fu milk tea with pudding. I can count on each location to taste the same so I know what to expect. I especially like how you can adjust the amount of ice and sugar in your drinks. *this location is CASH ONLY so come prepared! Took one star off because the cup was leaking from the bottom. Not sure why but it was a hassle.

Jeff W.

Yelp
The bubble tea at this place are not authentic. They don't use real tea leaf to make bubble tea or milk tea; instead they use flavor milk tea powders and it taste disgusting and sugary.
google avatar

Larissa F.

Yelp
First time drinking bubble tea. Not disappointed. I got honey lemonade with bubbles. It was delicious. The staff was friendly. Be warned though, take cash!

Berenice W.

Yelp
First time here and got the original milk tea. It was delicious definitely recommend. The cashier lady was neither nice nor rude. Definitely will be trying again.

Yelp
2 Stars on Yelp = "Meh. I've experienced better." and that just about sums up all my experiences at Kung Fu Tea. I've been here in this neighborhood for about 3 months and they have always had the same 'Specials/New Teas' read: Thai Milk Tea and Mini boba. So I've tried to order both of those on 2 separate occasions and they were sold out. So I go with tried and trues, Green Milk Tea and regular boba and here comes my first tip: DON'T GET THEIR BOBA. It sucks. Tasteless, overcooked to the point where they are more gelatinous than a sphere, and they charge you extra- why bother. Their teas, I can say, are adequate, but other than that I really don't see the point of coming here.
google avatar

Victoria W.

Yelp
This location is so much better than the Chinatown one. First of all, it is a lot less crowded and much more clean. You can actually come here to study, whereas the Chinatown location is a joke if you try to bring a book or a computer in there. Location has Wifi, and more the most part, people who work here are courteous, which is saying a lot compared to most establishments in the Viet Town area. They would actually give you recommendations. The plus is that there is even a Divvy station right outside of the store. After a long afternoon bike right, nothing is more refreshing than coming here for some good ole bubble tea. Here is a hint, they add a lot of ice, so if you want your drinks to be less diluted if you happen to be a slow drinker, ask them for "no ice", the bubble tea drinks are still coldish-cool even with no ice. Enjoy! Great teas, but probably a bit overpriced. All Kung Fu Tea locations only accept cash. But you can't blame them, they can't possible accept credit card when 95% of their orders are under $5.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here on a Tuesday afternoon and had the honey black tea with bubbles. It was delicious, and the staff were courteous and patient. I took my time getting my order ready, and I didn't feel rushed in the slightest. I also used the restroom at this location, and it was impeccably clean (and well decorated!), which is a huge plus in my book. There are some basic board games available for play as well, including jenga, rummikub, and connect four. While not my favorites (and I've never seen anyone play here), I appreciate an establishment that thinks about more than its product and tries to provide some extra fun.

Yelp
I love this boba! I fancy myself a bubble tea connoisseur, though I'll admit I like things a little sweeter than most people. This is my favorite spot in Chicago. Recommend getting some pho on argyle street and stopping by for a bubble tea. I like the classic green tea, but they have many more elaborate options as well. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Loves the games. The place is a little small and crowded. This place is cash only. The boba here compared to the other kung fu teas is extremely sweet. The other places have really nice sweet boba.

Yelp
Idk why i'm even bothering to write a review for this place since everyone of the argyle stop seems to already be in the know. We went after seing so many walking by with a kungfutea. I was not disappointed. My lychee tea had chunks of fresh lychee. In an area where there is no shortage of places that sell bobatea, this is my fave as far as flavor is concerned.

Yelp
I did not like the fact that they only accept cash, they do allow you to download the app and pay via the app. When you first create an account though, you need to load up at least $25 into your account which sucks because if I don't like it I spent $25 into the account for no reason. Came out fairly quick but I think I'll try other places before coming back

Yelp
There is little variation possible when it comes to bubble tea in my opinion. I'm a bit behind on the Kung Fu Tea craze, but I thought it was average. Average as in- it was a good drink that satisfied my craving, but nothing memorable enough that I'd purposely crave it again, especially when there are so many other bubble tea shops and Viet. restaurants with smoothies nearby.

Yelp
I like this location a lot more than the one in Chinatown. It's a bit smaller but usually less busy so I feel more relaxed here. Just like the Chinatown location they take CASH ONLY so make sure you come in prepared! Sometimes my drinks can taste different depending on how they're made in Chinatown but at this location my drinks have always been consistent. The chairs and tables are comfy and there are some outlets so you can charge phones or computers and do work there. They have wifi as well. My favorite drinks are the passionfruit green tea or if you want something more traditional in terms of milk tea, give the oolong milk tea a try! You can adjust the level of sugar, ice, and get different toppings or tapioca in your drink. I always end up customizing my drink a bit so it's just to my liking!

Yelp
Yes. Proper almond milk tea. You know it's legit when it has the seal on the cup that the straw pokes through. Boba is soft, not too sweet, good consistency. Tea itself isn't grainy, perfect temperature. In a city where a proper boba place is few and far between--Kung Fu Tea is legit!!!

Yelp
I love Kung Fu Tea! Everything I've had has been so good. I stumbled across this place after trying bubble tea in LA. This place is usually pretty poppin. People in the know use it like their Starbucks. Some favorites are almond milk tea, matcha milk strike, coffee milk tea, mango green, Oreo WOW, all with bubbles! This place is now part of my Sunday routine. You can also get SOME of their drinks with less sugar which is the best. Cash only but they have an app where you can get $4 off. Do it!

Yelp
When I moved to Chicago from LA 10 years ago people were like, "Boba what?" So it was devastating that I couldn't have boba whenever I wanted, thank goodness for the Kung Fu chain and their bubble teas done right! They don't serve up that fake powdered stuff. You get the real deal of tea shaken up as ordered. I love the milk green tea cap... that cream is so so yum!!!! The service isn't great which is why they are missing a star but I don't come here for that so no biggie.
