"This Brooklyn-based shop opened in 2010 and spread to 250+ spots in the U.S. alone. Its success lies in the variety of drinks ranging in classic boba teas to ones with Yakult, as well as slushes and espresso-based drinks. Check out the menu’s seasonal offerings for more unique drinks like purple yam lattes and strawberry yogurt lemonade." - Darlene Horn

Google
Great service and beautiful eating areas with plenty of seats. The Oreo Milkshake is great and smooth. Will definitely come back to try the other teas and boba.

Google
Great selection of drinks, and even different types of boba. Inexpensive compared to most tea shops. The drink I had was just okay. Really cool atmosphere though.

Google
Finally a place with popping spheres! I got passion fruit tea with mange popping bubbles and it was really nice. What I also liked is that their menu was unique and had a lot more new and unique option to try. Have to got back!!

Google
I ended up using my free ticket for one free large drink. Friendly customer service, I highly recommend everyone to come to this location. The vibe and the atmosphere was amazing. We used the coupon and purchased the same drinks. Mango snow with the mango jello Cocoa with extra brown sugar and boba

Google
Excellent selection of drinks and art! Love all the unique art they have on display and the stories about the artists. My daughter was very happy that she could choose from 6 levels of sweetness, her drink was amazing! Friendly happy staff and a clean space. We do recommend!

Google
Good drinks. Everyone happy with their drinks. Cashier is nice, waiting nicely for us to placed an order. Place is okay but can be better.

Google
Decent boba, good drinks, and speedy service. It’s nothing unique or to die for though as long as you have basic standards for boba. Avoid that Oreo one at all costs (unless you’re here for something “American”). I had a bad experience with one since it was way too heavy, too thick, and too sweet.

Google
One word: Authentic! There are soooo many Boba milktea places around San Diego, and in these few months of living in SD I already tried the most of them and ended up became KungFu Tea royal regular, I live in UTC but I don't mind to drive 20 mins to KungFu:). There are several reasons I love this place. First, their milktea reminds me of my childhood. I grew up in Asia, there were several neighbour boba shop around the town and KungFu milk tea taste really familiar with them. Second, the indoor decorations and the vibes that KungFu provides is super unique. Not like other "Photogenic" boba places. Third, there are so many cute game/anime cartoon figure toy! So freaking cute XD

Yelp
Cool decor inside this KFT. Employees were super nice and allowed us to make adjustments to our drink after we received it. Love that!

Yelp
I really loved the art on the walls it gave the shop a nice vibe. they have a ton of options on the menu, which honestly felt a little overwhelming. I ordered a matcha green tea with peach flavor and boba, but it just didn't taste good to me. On the bright side, my kids got the strawberry slushy with boba and they enjoyed theirs. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
Still on that tea kick! Was in the area and Kung Fu Tea was nearby. It's in the same parking lot as Common Theory and many other small shops. So it's not great trying to find a parking spot. Inside is large and spacious with the menus located on the wall. For the Milk teas you have the option of small, large or hot. I ordered a large Thai milk tea with 50% sweetness and no boba. Pricing for the tea here is very reasonable with most drinks around $5. The large size is $0.60 addition. My large Thai tea was only $5.75. There was a slight wait for my drink as there was a consistent trickle into the shop. The Thai tea itself was not bad, but it was made with powder. It was a shaken drink and there was still a powder residue you can see on the inside of the cup. They're promoting the movie How to train your dragon, so it was cute to see Toothless on the cup. 2025: 33

Yelp
Hot drink was given to me - very clearly lid was forced on cup - cup was deformed because it was squished - tried to take a sip even tho the cup was noticeably squished- hot drink spilled all over me ! Your staff (a bunch of poor kids who got stuck dealing with this because of poor mgmt decision) said this has been happening all day and the boss was too cheap to order KF tea brand hot cups but was using KF tea lids so it's not a perfect fit. And summer is around the corner so no need to stock up on hot cups ... staff was noticeably annoyed that they are left to deal with irked customer - can't blame them - just a bunch of kids working hourly wage . To management: Please run your business and inventory the right way - do not skimp on your customers like that ... we pay $0.70 extra for hot drinks - a hot drink like that could have caused a hot burn on me .... The poor kid didn't know what to do when I brought it back to him - he sealed it with plastic and put a straw in it ..... plastic + hot drink - very safe and smart - not blaming the poor kids - whomever owns this establishment needs to step it up - pls fix this, don't diminish the brand - I've been coming to KF Tea for years - you all are a franchise - I drink KF tea from San Marcos to Vegas to convoy to Carmel valley - pls don't diminish the .brand.... or this needs to be reported to corporate -

Yelp
Came here after lunch to grab a treat. This place was surprisingly empty, I ordered the taro milk tea to go, but this place felt welcoming, has plenty of seating for larger group. The walls are decorated with a lot of painting, which add a nice touch to the atmosphere.
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
Good variety of boba drinks with a relatively large indoor seating area and some power outlets. Can order from the app and collect points for discounts and free drinks. I tried the matcha milk tea with boba. The matcha flavor wasn't the strongest or most distinct, but it was pretty good and the boba were cooked perfectly. The seating area was nice and it was good for relaxing while I enjoyed my drink.
google avatar

Renata K.

Yelp
I had the mango slush with boba and mango jelly rectangles. It was really good. Service was great, and the place was nicely decorated with pretty paintings of cherry blossoms, and nature.

Yelp
Came here for a quick drink before our drive back and we all really enjoyed our drinks and the sizes they came in. I ordered the Kung Fu Milk Tea with Boba to play it safe and it was delicious.
google avatar

Athena P.

Yelp
The quality of their boba is great and they have so many drinks to choose from. The staff are really helpful when you're unsure what to order, and the vibe of the place is really chill.

Yelp
I decided to give Kung fu tea another chance and Jeffery the manager happened to be working and helped me select a non sugary more health conscious drink. He was so patient and kind answering all my questions to make sure I got the drink I wanted and all with a smile on his face. This is the type of service I really appreciate!! I love all the different flavors, options and selections. I ending up getting the coconut milk tea with custard and boba and a delicious milk cap! I opted for no sweetness bc the coconut sweetness and milk cap was sweet enough. This is my new favorite drink!! I will def be coming back again!

Yelp
My wintermelon tea looked and tasted flavorless. I liked the art in here! And the menu is super interesting. Garlic naan ?! Amazing. There's also so many specialty items, it's impossible to keep track. I'm not sure what I would order here next time but I'd probably give their fruity green teas a shot

Yelp
I've been to many different locations and this one on Convoy is the best! I've noticed they ALWAYS greet when someone walks in and out. Customer service 10/10! Ambiance is great too if you need to get work or study done!
google avatar

Katherine T.

Yelp
There are better boba spots around Convoy, but this place has way easier parking and tons of seating. The drinks can be hit or miss, and the boba is often super clumpy and sticky. On the bright side, the staff is really friendly, and it's a fun place to hang out with a group since there are plenty of tables and games to play while you're there.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Kung Fu has been my regular spot for boba tea for several years now. Usually easy parking, friendly staff and a large menu of tea choices. For a while you could only pay by Apple Pay or their app which I really didn't like, but they now are back to accepting other payment methods. The Thai Yea is good here as is the Winter-melon. The boba is a little chewy but you can sub it out. Good late night spot is you are in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm a sucker for boba and this place definitely hits it out the water! Some places you go to the "snow bubble" drinks can be too watery or too slushy here they do it just right and have the flavors you should dream of. Staff was very friendly when walking in and ordering, gave us plenty of time to choose what we wanted and to answer any of our questions.
google avatar

Kerrie L.

Yelp
Great service. We got a Taro slushie and a classic mango slushie. Lots of choices on the menu. You can even choose the % of sweetness for your drink. They have boba and lots of teas. Parking is good. Definitely recommend. I'd go back for sure.

Yelp
I have been wanting to come here for a while now and finally went to try their Princess Peach collab. The drinks were so cute and came with little souvenir toppers. I had the Princess Peach Milk Tea and it was flavorful and delicious! I will definitely be coming here again.

Yelp
I have to get Kung Fu Tea when I'm in San Diego. Not sure why the quality isn't there in OC but it is in Las Vegas and San Diego. The parking lot is crowded but we were able to get a spot in front of the Sunny Spa next door to KFT. We came in close to 9pm before close at 10pm (many apologies). I ordered the Winter Melon Milk Tea (formerly known as the Winter Gourd), less sweet, no add ons, and no ice. The drink is still good the day after if you refrigerate it. I saved it for the day after because I didn't want to stay up late the day prior. The taste was great. If you've ever had the Nom Nom Milk Tea at Factory Tea Bar in SGV I would say it's close to that. If I was still a real youngin' I would have got Regular or more sweet but it's not necessary nowadays to enjoy the Winter Melon Milk Tea here. The order process was quick and easy and it wasn't a long wait to receive the drinks.

Yelp
Quality has been less consistent. Boba is often too hard and the modifications don't seem to be listened to. I've moved on to Honey Lemon and Urbn Bubble. Shame, as their app was handy.

Yelp
Well, I came back in hopes of redemption, as our last visit went poorly. Today, they met my expectations and the service was excellent. Drink was delicious and boba back to the usual standard. It was pretty relaxed today , music loud, but not too loud. Place is hip and got a makeover at some point. Nice electronic menus, digital ordering, apple, you name it. Today, I am a very happy customer. Honey Milk Green Tea 5/5 this is our go to drink and it didn't disappoint. -- the boba texture perfect, -- tea is quite sweet unless you ask for reduction. 70% may be the way to go next time... Service with a smile 5/5 Cleanliness.. 3.5/5 that floor needs a makeover and need to pick up a bit. Ambiance 4.5/5 it was great, but the floors and unkept seating area was a bit off putting. Overall, though. Great place for bubble tea and other delicious treats when in the mood.
google avatar

Yelp
Bad customer service . Cashier didn't listen to the order . Then give us just hot water with boba .. I called he didn't even asked for my order number how is he gonna be able to refund my money . I told him I was in traffic on the way home .

Yelp
The workers here are so nice, the drinks are great! Lots of seatings and entertainment like huge uno cards. Parking lot is a disaster! It's always so tight and crowded but well worth it!
google avatar

Jocelyn A.

Yelp
We stopped by KFT when they were having their collaboration with Pikmin and they had the cutest straw toppers. We always love the vibes of this KFT and enjoy coming when in the area. They have unique flavored drinks and definitely recommend. The workers are always so sweet and we always like looking at their art on their walls while waiting(:

Dinh C.

Yelp
I am a boba guy. Though I do prefer a nice simple tea with boba there are times when I feel the need to go try something sweet I head to Kung Fu Tea. They have a wide variety of milk teas, fruit teas, and the occasional specialty drinks which are focus around collabs. The staff are great and have a chill vibe which meshes well with the decor of the place feeling more like a hangout spot for many groups of people. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but if you can swing by at a good time, I recommend some of their fruit teas or Milk Strike Teas.
google avatar

Jadon S.

Yelp
TL;DR - This place is hands down the best boba shop in San Diego. Kung Fu Tea, while it is a chain, has been the most consistent boba shop I've ever been to, and that is KEY. The boba is always cooked to that perfect gummy bear chew, perfectly sweetened, and with no mushy membrane on the outside. The tea tastes great without being too bitter or overpowering, and the sweetness is perfect at 75%. The drinks taste the same each time, the staff is friendly, and orders come out in 5 minutes or so. Really happy I've found this place and if I lived here year-round, I'd be in every day.
google avatar

Bri F.

Yelp
Kung Fu Tea is one of the most consistent boba shops I've been to. The boba is always a great texture, flavors of drinks are spot on, quick service, and you can customize sweetness and ice if you'd like to. Doesn't matter which location you go to, you get a good experience. This visit was great. The staff was friendly, welcomed us in, and talked with us while we waited for our drinks. We got the mango slush and the Oreo wow. Drinks came out quick, and they were awesome. Definitely recommend check this spot out!

Yelp
Another place I would say have associated with my past and linking to my ex, that's the reason why I didn't visit it for years since we broke up, but here we are again, I used to come here when it was super crowded the line was out the door in the evening and the parking lot was packed between this and Shared Tea, regardless of that I think the quality of the drinks stayed the same whether it's tea or snow slushy. I didn't recall much about the interior as I was always getting it to go and because no place to sit down. Now I get more time to look around inside, a lot of artworks from different artists on the wall throughout, it's called Kung Fu for a reason, as it was decorated more like a Chinese martial art school tea house or a Japanese dojo or a little bit of both in between, so all the seats are not the most comfy ones, no cushions and all hard wood, I guess they wanted to really push that hard training on you like Bruce Lee on the wall so you still on a stance pose as you drink your tea :) anywho the menu are all in English and no Chinese, but I am sure I saw their location somewhere else with more Chinese language involved. For now I will stick with the takeout method if I return since I don't want my car to get towed for parking at another business spot in this plaza. They tend to be competitive and that's how they wanted to draw the rival customers out.

Yelp
I ended up using my free ticket for one free large drink. Friendly customer service, I highly recommend everyone to come to this location. The vibe and the atmosphere was amazing. We used the coupon and purchased the same drinks. Mango snow with the mango jello Cocoa with extra brown sugar and boba

Yelp
Worst service Don't care about customer satisfaction Gross drinks not sweet Won't remake items if not correct or satisfied to costumer.
google avatar

Karina R.

Yelp
Lychee Green tea is always my go to order but it tasted off here. It didn't really taste like lychee at all, more just like a sweet tea. I was a little disappointed
google avatar

Satranina L.

Yelp
This place is located in the same shopping center as Common Theory on Convoy. It's a nice place with a lot of drink options. I really like the KungFu honey tea. It's really refreshing. The workers are always really friendly.
google avatar

Jean-Charles N.

Yelp
Cool little spot in Kearny Mesa I like their oolong milk tea with popping coffee boba
google avatar

Jody S.

Yelp
Large coffee milk tea half sugar less ice with berry lychee boba $6.50 a-ok. In a mini mall next to billiards, parked in pretty full and tight lot, good seating inside, fast friendly service, big menu, prices are a-ok to me.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
I am sorry to say but I feel like compared to nearby spots this place has fell in comparison. The price point is high especially if you want boba added. Another reason is from the visit I had today. There was only one order in front of me and no one behind me. I had asked for egg pudding and boba in my coffee drink. In my taro drink i asked for red bean and boba. After i l left i realized they gave both red bean even after the girl at counter asked again. I am not happy about this. Also it was SO SWEET when I asked for 30% sweetness. I always ask for the lowest percent and have no problem but today yikes! Both my mom and I could not drink our teas. Huge waste of money and decided this is the last time. Super disappointing as I used to like this place a lot. But past few times just have not been good.
google avatar

Alan T.

Yelp
It's the most consistent and different tasting milk tea I've tried in SD, particularly their Kung Fu Milk tea blend. Has an interesting taste that I think makes it a good introductory to this place. And full disclosure, this is coming from someone who thinks most boba tea places taste indistinguishable from the average.
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
Boba isn't ready until 12 PM! This should be specified on the app because I ordered ahead of time for pick up and they let me order boba. If I knew there wasn't boba I would've gone somewhere else and not have been upset!
google avatar

Tammy T.

Yelp
Such a sweet team! Everyone was so great! Got the honey green milk tea with boba, and they gave so much boba! Love it! Will always come back if I'm nearby!
google avatar

Natasha P.

Yelp
Came later in the day so the bathroom was unclean. Maybe it was too busy. This place isn't bad, I just forget they are very sweet compared to most boba shops so ordering half sweetness is still too much. I think if I came in instead of ordering online, an employee would have explained that to me. rating is based on a pickup experience. If I came again and ordered different sweetness level this place may have a better rating. Service 10/10 friendly employees
google avatar

Mel S.

Yelp
I've been here more times than I can count, every time has been fantastic. Seating area is cute and is a great place to relax and chat up a bit over drinks. Staff is always super sweet and answers any questions! This is by far the absolute best Bubble Tea location in SD!
google avatar

Veronica H.

Yelp
This is a cute whole in the wall shop (based on location). It has cute art hanging all throughout and various setting sections. They have music playing at just the right volume. As for the menu it is pretty extensive and they have a lot to choose from. I was a little confused on what to order and the girl working the counter was very helpful. I opted for a latte and a wow milk (brown sugar milk lactaid tea). I was impressed by how many milk options they have and one of those options is lactaid! You have 5 or so different options for how much sugar you want. Everything tasted perfectly! After handing over our drinks we were told to drink them to see if they were to our liking or they could remake them. This is the first time I have ever been told this and it is appreciated. We will definitely be coming back.

Bill W.

Yelp
I just got a drink there. I got half of it down and began getting a headache and started sweating. Then I began vomiting violently. I don't know what the hell was in that drink but I have no allergies. Either I was intentionally or unintentionally poisoned. Why aren't there negative stars. If I was still in my car and driving when the poisoned kicked in, this could have been deadly. This is the most sick I've been from food in many years.

Hannah G.

Yelp
I don't usually try new boba shops bc it's too often a 'miss.' But I had higher hopes for this place. Instead, I got mushy, slimy, gelatinous boba. The brown sugar boba tasted so burnt. Total waste of money. What's to love?
google avatar

Luis A.

Yelp
It was okay, Came here after a disappointing dinner at TGGKBBQ. Needed some boba tea to water down the sadness. Well this place delivered. Staff was friendly and the tea was good. Only thing is that it was mostly ice and medium cup was too small.
google avatar

Ash L.

Yelp
All teas I've had here are so good. They taste so fresh and the boba is one of my favorites. The shop is decorated with custom paintings and art. They also have some board games for groups of friends. My go to boba place forever.
google avatar

Krypton C.

Yelp
*4.5/5 Rating* Food: Our default boba spot in the Convoy area when we aren't feeling adventurous. They arguably have the best boba topping! We like the taro milk tea and herbal jelly cocoa cream wow (for the lactose intolerant). You can't go wrong with a winter melon milk tea or passionfruit green tea either. They also have seasonal and new flavors, like the purple yam latte (not ube) and creative concoctions, like taro-oreo (which tastes like fruity pebbles cereal)! Lastly, they drinks are on the sweet side, so adjust accordingly. Service: Line is out the door so maybe order via the app. Drinks were made promptly, looked good, tasted good. Atmosphere: The place was party vibes on a Saturday evening. People chatting over good boba and nice indie artwork. Definitely give this place a visit!

Yelp
I've heard all about Kung Fu Tea from friends on the East Coast, so when it first came to San Diego, I knew I had to give it a try. I'm happy to share that this tea shop is the complete package - an eye-catching name, stylish interior, and top-notch drinks! This has quickly become one of my go-to boba places in San Diego, and if you check it out for yourself I'm sure you'll figure out why. First and foremost, they have a huge selection of drinks (along with some seasonal options). My personal favorites are their fruit teas, but you can never go wrong with a classic honey black tea either. Pro tip: if you check in on the yelp app, you can get a free topping (naturally, my favorite is their boba)! Just a couple things to keep in mind - Kung Fu Tea is located in a complex, and while there's parking it may be challenging to find a spot during busier hours (fortunately there's usually a fair amount of street parking in the area). Also with how popular this place is, there's often a line going out the door (unless you're lucky enough to show up at an off hour). Of note, the music is often quite loud inside the shop, so if you're looking for a space to have a conversation over a cup of boba, this may not be the ideal venue. But really, in the grand scheme of things, these are minor drawbacks in comparison to the quality of tea you'll receive from here. Needless to say, I highly recommend Kung Fu Tea!
google avatar

Yelp
Herbal Jelly Wow with boba $4.55 5/5 looks as good as it tastes - doesn't taste like a typical lactose drink - even having a lactose option is great and made Manon very happy - their warm boba tastes amazing Honey green tea w herbal jelly and 50% sweetness 5/5 - the herbal jelly was soft and refreshing - 50% sweetness was the right amount of sweetness Honey Oolong Milk Tea with Boba and Pudding and 50% sweetness 4.5/5 - chewy boba, really good oolong milk tea - custard pudding is a bit plain because the sweetness of the boba and the milk tea overpowers it Notes: Employees are very friendly The store's aesthetic is jaw-dropping!! it's so cute and reminds me of an art gallery!! I love the references to the AAPI community! Highly recommend for trying new flavors and seeing the art!!
google avatar

Verona M.

Yelp
I love their Kung Fu Milk Tea, literally one of my favorite stops for a quick boba or tea fix. I like my milk teas less watery & more milky, which their milk tea is CREAMY! I haven't tried anything else other than the Kung Fu Milk Tea, so obviously recommend that. I have to say though, they're not the most efficient & I had a gift card, but none of the staff could figure out how to get it to work which I ended up just paying with another card, but that was incredibly upsetting because our whole point of coming was to use up the gift card we had. Still a great stop - not a lot of space inside so do expect some crowding during busy hours.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
Delicious teas and slushies. Plus there are great options for lactose intolerants! The staff is always helpful if you're ordering there or picking up.
