The 9 Best Chinese Restaurants In Washington DC's Chinatown

"Most of the Chinese restaurants in Chinatown have been around for a long time, but TKK Fried Chicken is a very welcome recent addition. The fast-casual Taiwanese spot, located in Luna Hall, serves individual combo meals like the spicy chicken sandwich (get it deluxe if you want lettuce and tomato) for when you need a cheap on-the-go meal, and affordable family-sized chicken platters for when you really can’t cook dinner. Everything on the menu is worth trying—we particularly love the juicy, crunchy chicken tenders. Pair them with the seasoned curly fries or the buttery charred corn and a milk tea." - omnia saed

The Best Restaurants Near Capital One Arena

"Sure, there’s a Chick-Fil-A right by the arena, but that’s not where you’ll get the best chain chicken in Chinatown. Head to TKK Fried Chicken in Luna Hall—where the Taiwanese tenders, sandwiches, and drumsticks are all juicy, beautifully breaded, and perfectly seasoned. The flavors range from a crispy mild to a spicy peppercorn, which is our favorite. Pair it with a milk tea (they have dairy-free options) for the ultimate pregame (or show) chicken meal." - tristiana hinton

7 DC Restaurants Open On Christmas Day - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"Maybe you overdid it with your Christmas Eve shenanigans, and now you have a hankering for fried chicken. Head to Luna Hall in Chinatown. TKK Fried Chicken will be serving its juicy tenders and boxes of crispy wings, legs, and thighs. Hang out in the lounge chairs if you are trying to relax and kick your feet up, but it’s also a great take-home meal if you have more Hallmark rom coms to watch.  " - Tristiana Hinton

TKK Fried Chicken - Review - Chinatown - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"DC is a city full of good chicken, but we’re never going to turn down the chance to add a new spot to the roster. And TKK Fried Chicken is one of the few places where we can get multiple styles of chicken, each as good as the last. The fast-casual Taiwanese spot is one of a handful of stalls in Chinatown’s Luna Hall. During the week, you’ll often see men in suits chat over a shared bucket of drumsticks, thighs, and wings at cafeteria-style tables, as college students type out term papers in lounge seats comfortable enough to nap in. photo credit: Nina Palazzolo While there’s a right place to sit (the lounge seats), there are no wrong menu choices here. The chicken comes in three styles: mixed bucket, sandwich, or tender (our personal favorite). Some mild, some spicy. And so juicy that you’ll skip right past offering the last piece to your partner and snag it for yourself. Hey, it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission. If you’re taking your food to go, you’ll still want to have a seat. You could even grab a couple of drinks at the food hall’s bar while you wait, and you’ll still have time to spare. They lean a little more heavily on the casual than the fast. But the food comes out burn-the-roof-of-your-mouth hot, and will still be warm after a 20 minute commute, so no worries if you’re taking it home for the fam. TKK Fried Chicken is a chicken spot to have in your DC rotation, knowing that no matter what kind of chicken you’re in the mood for, they make it with Popeyes-level consistency. Food Rundown photo credit: Nina Palazzolo Famous Fried Chicken The grease glistens on these lightly breaded pieces of chicken the moment you open the box. You can get them original, crispy mild, or crispy spicy, and there are no misses—though we wouldn’t mind a bit more kick on the spicy pieces. photo credit: Nina Palazzolo Crispy Chicken Sandwich You’ve gotta be bold to serve a plain chicken sandwich, with no sauces or vegetables, and think people will love it. TKK Fried Chicken mastered that with this sandwich. But order it deluxe with a side of honey mustard to be safe. Crunchy Tenders The tenders come in three and five packs, and are best eaten by ripping them into pieces. Mostly to make sure you don’t bite into a steaming hot tender and have to hasashafasa until you can chew again. Plus it’s fun to see how juicy the meat is when you tear them apart. Curly Fries What chicken combo is complete without fries? These are curly, crunchy, and seasoned, and piled high in your to-go box. photo credit: Nina Palazzolo Charred Corn Blackened, buttered, and salted, this cup of kernels is a great pairing with any of the chicken choices." - Tristiaña Hinton

Google
I can only speak towards the Kung Fu Tea since I didn’t order any chicken. The honey tea hit just the spot on a hot day. Smooth, sweet, and refreshing. Offering was easy, and the wait time was short.

The Kung Fu Tea side here is a normal boba shop. No issues with it, you get what you expect. The chicken sandwich here, however, is downright scammy. I'm not expecting something triple stacked, but I received the smallest, greasiest, most anemic sandwich ever. Not worth the money.

Google
The tea was good. Didn't enjoy the crystal Boba, didn't have any lychee flavor. The biscuit needed butter but was still good, soft and warm. The chicken came out HOT seasoned well, but took some time. I loved the fried cheese curds, and the curly fries are curly fries. But they charge for one sauce and it's a small amount. We plan on coming back. Good stuff. Customer service was okay

Decent bubble tea. But boba was a bit tough. Got the fried chicken as well which was also crispy and good.

Google
we got a peach oolong tea from then and this is what it came out looking like. like who gives out drinks to customers that have this thick of the foam on top? (it was not good too, way sweeter than what we got before with 50% sugar) my bf asked about the foam when he got our orders and the guy working there said “just shake it”, bro are you serious? y’all just lucky i was not there so he could have tricked my baby like that

Google
The menu says that combos come with a side, coleslaw, and a biscuit. When I asked what sides there were, I was told mashed potatoes and rice. I asked for rice, my receipt said corn, and I got french fries. She looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for my biscuit and coleslaw. "No coleslaw, one or two biscuit?" Also, up to a 30-minute wait for fast food This wants to be Popeye's or even KFC, but doesn't come close.

Wanted try the spicy fried chicken while watching the Euro Cup with a beer. Took a long time to cook. 20min. Took my 6 piece and sides to the bar. But when I tasted it, it was good and yum with just the right crispiness. I told the bartender Tony who happens the manage the bar also. He said it's made to order and takes 18min. I said they need to let customers know before they order. Unfortunately the sides were not that good. Corn was salty, biscuits was blah and cheese curds were ok. The mash potatoes was good but the gravy wasn't enough and seemed like it came from a bottle. No shishito peppers! Now I don't understand all these comments about racism. Security there is a black guy and he likes working there the last 11months and love the fried chicken. Customer Service at the counter does need a lot of work compared to Tony at the bar. But usually immigrants with limited English skills will be that way. So no biggie.

Had a whole lactose free section of the menu! Rare for boba tea places! I am grateful for the opportunity to taste delicious lactose free boba tea any chance I get. It is very sugary and full of ice tho because they didn't ask or give the option of tweaking sugar and ice levels and temperature levels. My friend had hers with boba and said it was good also.

Yelp
Probably one of the worst tasting Kung Fu Tea's I've ever been to. Got a Cocoa Cream / Original WOW and it tasted like 2% milk from a grocery store. Boba had no flavor and the milk was so basic. They even offered to add more brown sugar to it, but that didn't help at all. Not sure what's up, but it was very bland. Won't be visiting this location ever again.

Yelp
Service was terrible. It took 50+ minutes for my food to be served and by the time i FINALLY got it, my sandwich was COLD. The space was loud and the manager i talked to about my food was incredibly rude and pretty much just told me to suck it up.
