These Are Officially The World’s Most Beautiful New Museums

Located on the quayside in Kristiansand, this art museum occupies a former grain silo, giving it a distinctive industrial character in a waterfront setting. Its transformation from silo to museum is significant enough in design and atmosphere to earn it a place on a list of the world’s most beautiful museums. - Liv Kelly

Loved it. The adaptation of the old building is amazing so the building itself is a work of art. I really enjoyed going there. The textile work displayed in one of the floors is extremely interesting and beautiful and I was quite impressed by it.

A must visit if visiting Kristiansand, especially if the weather is closing in. Many floors of exhibitions and displays. A great gift shop and restaurant on the ground floor. Incredibly clever architecture. NK200 entry to the floors and exhibits.

What a beautiful museum. The design is truly an architectural delight. There's also a wonderful area where the younger children learn what art is. Wonderful design inside as well. There's a lovely Cafe and gift shop.

I enjoyed visiting the Kunstsilo very much! The setting, this old grain silo, creates an unique atmosphere. The quality of the expositions may vary, but there is plenty for everyone's taste. It is only right that we in the south no longer need to go to the bigger Norwegian cities to be able to visit a major art museum. And for regional schools it will be a great opportunity to introduce schoolchildren to art. I am looking forward to seeing the Hagen collection being displayed!

Kristiansand is lucky to have recently been graced with this wonderful world-class museum. A conglomeration of enormous concrete grain silos has been repurposed for art exhibition with superb vision, creating a delightful home for art through which the Tangen-collection is cycled in different configurations. A must-visit when in Kristiansand!

An amazing museum, both for its architectural dimension and its exhibitions. Its brutalist architecture is a masterpiece in itself, and there's a beautiful viewpoint on the rooftop!

Amazing art exhibit to visit. Cool arcitechture with the this, being inside old food silos. The art here is mostly from the time between 1920 and 1990. Cool thing is the small sounds everywhere. Like small speakers that make cool backgroud sound. Everything is so thouhgt through. Thank you. Nicolai Tangen, for making this possible
