Delicious sushi with a great variety! Fun made to order options from a kiosk at the table that comes zipping down the conveyer belt. The matcha green tea is epic. Next time I hope to get something delivered from the robot waiter. My new favorite place, can’t wait to come back!

Google
I think it's great to dine in at the restaurant. The food and service are all excellent, and my son loves the sushi there! However, when I ordered sushi for my child online, the quality was really poor. I hope the restaurant can pay more attention to users who order online.

Rema S.

Google
My kiddos & I went to this place because they were dying to get served by a robot 😂 I have to say that the quality of the food was top notch! The servers were friendly & explained things thoroughly. They had the fanciest restaurant bathroom I have ever been in! It had a Boudet, it dried your fanny & the seat was warm 🤩 We really enjoyed our time there. It was a little on the spendier side of a sushi bar restaurants I've been to. However, it was worth the experience.

Google
The only time I ever had a full sushi dinner and was still hungry at the end. Sushi was definitely higher quality than the standard conveyor belt sushi dive, but portions and prices were not good. The seared scallops and amebi shrimp were especially delightful. Service is terrible beyond what can be automatic ordered and delivered. We had to track down a human waiter multiple time before we could get Wasabi for our Sushi. I'm sorry, there needs to be Wasabi available before my first dish arrives. We never did get our water we repeatedly asked for. Overall experience is fun for children choosing their own food, but needlessly expensive and complicated. I will still stick to nearby Akira Sushi for kid friendly conveyor belt sushi, and if fancier sushi is needed then Bamboo Sushi or truly exquisite Yuubi Sushi. The need to use the Kura App to make a reservation, but still have to wait 30min is pompous and not earned by quality, quantity, or ambiance.

Google
This place was so much fun! We went twice during our stay! Single seats are more readily available. Usually a wait for tables! Food was great! Highly recommend for the atmosphere!

Amanda S.

Google
They received 1 star for service is because I ordered a beer and it was marked as delivered but I never received it until I went to the host. I had even requested a server and no one came. When we originally sat down the server asked us if we had been here before. After we said no, he said to tap the blue start button and then walked away. We were confused on how to remove the sushi on the conveyor belt. The price for the food and quality was fantastic. The robot and "speedy belt" (belt for order above the conveyor belt) is very cool! The prizes were fun too! Bathrooms have a fancy bidet!

Google
It was my first time going there last night, and honestly it kind of blew my expectations away in terms of quality for both the food and the atmosphere inside. Not to mention I had no clue how my food that I ordered would be delivered, so that was a very pleasant and nice surprise honestly. Could defintely see myself coming here a lot more often, but maybe not super often cause every plate of sushi is 3.95, but I can give that a pass considering the quality of the food is great (their takoyaki is the most fresh thing on their menu and is very authentic) Can't wait to come here again.

nikki G.

Google
It was very much overpriced. It’s $3.95 per plate and most of the plates, there’s only 2 pieces of sushi. The most I’ve seen was the basic california roll with had 3 pieces. We came for the experience not for the food. For 4 people, our bill was $145. We had 22 plates, 2 ramen and 2 plates (the tempura vegetable plate). Good chance we won’t go back.

Yelp
First time revolving Sushi experience. It was fantastic. We walked in bit late and got it in fast (no wait time). Took 5 mins to understand how to start. But once that's done, it was quite fast :). Sushi's are good. Tried their beef Udon as well . That was great too. Service is seamless and great option to go

Yelp
Quality seemed to go down after their opening month. Too understaffed. Not a nice dining experience. The kitchen sent us the wrong dish on the custom order belt, and then there was no human server to tell that we got a dish we didn't order. Then the kitchen staff yelled at us to take the unwanted dish off the conveyor belt. Last but not least, our drinks didn't arrive until we were almost done with our meal.

Mariko K.

Yelp
This place is hit and miss for me. Some dishes are really great, but a lot are just ok. They blast the AC so it is absolutely freezing. It's also super duper loud. Staff are friendly, but it can take awhile for a server to come help you.
google avatar

Natalia G.

Yelp
Had the best experience here it was so fun and interactive. I was obsessed with the curvy role and the golden Crunchyroll. Each plate cost about $4.10. We ate 12 plates between two people.
google avatar

Gina S.

Yelp
Sushi was fresh and yummy! It's good quality for the price and there was no fishy taste. I love the little robots that bring out water and wasabi. There are not many vegetarian options so something to keep in mind before coming here.
google avatar

Diane P.

Yelp
We go here more often than we want - it's convenient and fast. The miso soup was super salty the last time we came in. The fish seemed fresh and was good. Sad that every time we come in the promotion items are always out. Overall the service was great - everyone was nice when we came. Not as busy as it used to be.

Yelp
First time ever! Walked in with no reservation, got seated in less than 10 min after putting our name on the list. The host asked if we've ever been to a revolving sushi place, we said no and he just said look at the tablet and walked away. Would've been nice if they explained what to do, we basically sat there and just tried to figure it out. There's a quick tutorial but it was so fast we didn't even see it. The sushi was actually good!! I was super wary about trying this place and it ended up tasting just fine. Some were bland but most of the rolls were good. Also a robot brings out dishes you ordered on the tablet. The experience was cool to try. One of the workers actually tended to us and was very polite. But the host was a different story. Also just so you're aware, they do not have sriracha or teriyaki sauce if that's your thing. They have a spicy mayo mix that tasted just okay. The place was busy and pretty clean.

Yelp
We popped in on a Wednesday at 2pm and absolutely no lines and no wait. The good: the technology of the revolving sushi bar and food delivery is incredible. Very "Jetsons". The touch pad screen is easy to use, intuitive and convenient. The bad: the food is sub-par. We ordered the tonkatsu ramen, shrimp tempura, crispy squid, and the shrimp and avocado roll. Let's just said something was wrong with everything. The ramen noodles were undercooked, the crispy squid was overcooked and the sushi and shrimp tempura was bland and flavorless. The interior was clean. My father asked for a fork and it never came so I ended up getting one myself. Check out was a breeze.

Yelp
We loved this place! Honestly tried so many things and had so much fun at the table between the orders arriving and cashing in our plates once we finished them. The food was GOOD too. Pretty decent sushi track, better than most places in the area for sure. And, I know it's crazy but have to say these 2 statements: 1) get the ICE CREAM. The fried fish tail comes hot with cold vanilla ice cream and it was to die for. 2) the toilet is the fanciest thing I've ever experienced- heated seats and multi-angled bidet (and more buttons than I could figure out what to do with) Be prepared to wait! Our wait time was quoted as 45-60 minutes and was about 50 minutes in total. The actual service is a bit lacking once we got there, but most of what you need is completed by a computer once you're at the table. Would be nice if the few team members were a bit more proactive and friendly.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
Small selection of items. The items did taste fine. You have to deal with the screen far above you to search menus and then you can order things specifically, and pay later. There wasn't much service, they just take you to your seat. The ambience is fine, not too loud. I think they brought me my tea. They have a robot rolling around there, but I'm not sure what the purpose is of it... Decent place to stop for a quick meal, if you can find something with the small selection provided.
google avatar

Kurt P.

Yelp
It is really tough to get a table. It is a little better since they got an app and you can put your name in online. The place is reasonably clean, though our table was not by the time we left. You are pretty much on your own here, the only time you will see a waitress is if you order a beer from the computer terminal. This is also where you place special orders for ramen, etc The sushi is really very good, though they go a bit heavy on the seared fish and beef. Prices are reasonable - the portions are kinda small but the nigiri plates are inexpensive. You must have a smartphone to pay your bill, so don't forget your phone. We walked away quite pleased - this place is an adventure!

Yelp
This review might be one of the most difficult for me to write. I've been sitting on this one for months. There are so many things about Kura that make it a unique place that's in its own category with pros and cons. The prices are a bit shy of $4 for nigiri or anything else on their plates that go around the track. Pros: some of the best options for sushi for the price. they add a bit of "toppings" to some of them for an extra flavor burst. Honestly, I could eat like 20 plates of just their scallops. These might be the best scallop option out there for the price and quality. They have a few other nice options that are great. Decent quality Cons: Some of the sushi is cut paper thin and there isn't much on top of the rice. I find a few of their sushis not that great or worth the price. Service can be also hit or miss. Variety a bit more limited than other conveyor belt sushi Overall, SOME items are TOTALLY worth it and others are meh. It will all depend on your tastes and what you're looking to get

Yelp
Review is on the wait time after reserving a spot through the app. The wait today was horrendously too long. Still in line after reserving through the mobile app 40 min ago. The app said the wait time was approximately 10 min. I found we were not seated until almost 20-25 min after our estimated time. I'm not sure what factors are involved and what determines this but I think people just camped out for too long inside the restaurant causing the long queue of people wanting to get inside and eat. I hope this can improve. However once we were seated our hostess was very friendly and attentive. They just need to work on providing a better solution for situations like this.

Yelp
So good. Really helps to plan ahead with the waitlist and love being able to use the screen to order. Speeds up service for sure. Pretty pricey with all plates being a minimum of $4 which for some items may not seem worth it. Will Be our go to sushi conveyor joint going forward.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now, and the wait is always daunting, but the line moves quickly. The first time I came here with a friend, I struggled getting to 15 plates due to custom orders. We ordered too many other things and got very full. There isn't a bad seat in the house, though it is usually pretty noisy. The shrimp tempura is large and yummy. The ramen is super delicious. I enjoy the various cuts of beef, the mayo salmon, and the variety in offerings. There's something for everyone. When you hit 15 plates, you get a surprise. They rotate surprises to keep it interesting. My daughter enjoyed the challenge on the screen and putting empty plates in the slot. The service is quick and friendly, and you might get drinks delivered via robot.
google avatar

Vanisa K.

Yelp
Love this conveyor belt sushi spot! The staff greets you at the door and takes you to your table. On a Tuesday afternoon, there was no wait and the place looked relatively empty. You order on the screen above you, and the food rolls out on the upper conveyor, while a robot brings your drinks and wasabi. I've dined here before and really enjoyed the food. Sometimes, however, it seems like the sushi sizes are not consistent. The fun part is that every 5 dishes you insert prompts a visual display on the screen. After 15 dishes, you receive a little toy/prize that falls down from the display - those are fun to collect when you're dining with a group and working on eating in 15-dish intervals. The quality of Kura's sushi is greater than a lot of the other places in town, which is why we'll be back! I recommend giving Kura a try!

Janeen B.

Yelp
Robot made for a fun ambiance. Cute service robot brought our drinks. Sushi was fine but not worth it. Everything is $4.50 a plate and majority of items are overpriced. Sushi conveyor was 80% empty.

Yelp
After several attempts of waiting in long queues to try Kura, we finally got in on a cold January Thursday night. Definitely recommend going during off hours. I love robots and conveyor systems, especially in restaurants. Incredibly easy to order off the menu with the upper conveyor stopping at your specific table. Great selection of sushi on the lower conveyor, with easy to read roll descriptions. The portions were quite small for the hefty price plate of almost $4. The $3.80 small cup of hot green tea (from a robot) irked me. I've never paid that much for tea while dining and there were no refills. In the future, I'll bring in town guests here for the experience, but Kura wont be on my conveyor sushi location rotation. Expert tip- If the queue is long, there is a Trader Joes in the same complex. Get your grocery shopping done!

Yelp
I've been going to Kura at least 8-10 times since they've opened in the Beaverton location. It's so delicious, probably one of the best conveyer sushi around. I believe they recently changed the price a couple months ago from $3.84 a plate to $3.95, so that was disappointing to see. They just opened not too long ago and raised the price already! My favorite here is definitely the scallop! It's so good each time I have it and the texture is just really delicious. Some of my other favorites are the spider roll and seared salmon. I've tried the ramen here before and it was just okay, but that's to be expected because the restaurant specializes in sushi, not ramen! The service was quite slow when I went even though there were so many people working. I clicked the screen twice to get someone to come to my table for wasabi, but no one came for a long time. I just flagged someone down and asked her, but to no surprise, she never came back to my table with the wasabi. Luckily we just asked someone else for the wasabi and we finally got it. It's annoying how you have to flag them down even after signaling for their attention on the screen. Sometimes the wait time is 1-1.5 hours, but these days it seems to be slowing down, so you don't have to wait too long. It's not bad for some better than average sushi. Hopefully they don't continue to raise the prices and they should work on improving their service.
google avatar

Yelp
The sushi is quite overpriced compared to other conveyor belt sushi spots. Portions also lean on the thinner side in terms of sashimi and nigiri slices. I recommend trying the plates you normally can't get anywhere else like all the specials, yuzu oil infused pieces, wagyu, etc. The upcharge is most likely for the utilization of robots for service, "getting to" order from an iPad, and receiving your orders on a sushi delivery express lane from the belt. Human service is slow due to most of their responsibilities surrounding maintenance of the never-ending piles of dishes despite there being a trash chute at each table that discards and counts every plate that is given back to the kitchen. This is a shame because staff were really nice but obviously overwhelmed, making them often forgetful. Improvements can be made to make the experience more smooth and less chaotic, but first, the prices needs to justify the quality of the fish I'm getting as a customer. It's just not there at all. H-Mart's sushi grab n go section is higher quality than what is being served here sadly.
google avatar

Patrick W.

Yelp
Really fun place with clever belts for all, and a custom upper one that stops at a specific table based on orders. Ordering is simple and fast. The sushi is tasty and some of the noodles are okay and some are a tad bland like the tonkotsu. The fish slices are disappointingly thin, thin enough that you notice and feel you're not getting a solid value. The price, well that's the tough part. Sushi is $3.95 a plate and if you are savvy for the more spendy one perhaps you can get a good bang for your buck but overall, one can easily clock $30/person which isn't necessarily high for sushi, but one can't come here all the time at those prices. To me it's 3.5 stars. Minus one for higher price point for what you get and another half for certain bland soup noodles.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
I really enjoy the sushi here even if on the slightly expensive side. my favorite sushi was surprisingly the steak sushi - its a very fine cut of excellent steak. My other favorite was the spicy tuna The ramen and udon are both equally good Be ready for a wait especially on weekends- they have a system that will send you a text just before your table is ready - this allowed is to wander around whole waiting
google avatar

Chase M.

Yelp
My sister has been raving about coming and checking this new place out. She loves a lot of Asian culture and conveyor belt sushi show. This was definitely a fun experience. Now, when we were in Seattle, we did the robot barista, which is now here in Portland as well and to be honest, it made really good coffee, better than two of the small local shops that we visited. I would say this, but this was pretty on par with quality, but definitely a fun fact with bumped up. Was definitely not a quick experience, so plan some time to enjoy it. Worth the experience but not sure if id make the trip across town again just for the experience. Great robot service wink wink they were a bit cold and lifeless (joke?) oh and definitely looks exactly how you imagined

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't write a review for here yet! Sorry it's been awhile as you can tell by the outdated toy collab (Pikmin in November) We were going to wait a little longer before the hype died down but luckily got on the waitlist and only waited 20 mins to be seated for a group of 3. It was still relatively newly opened when we went so it felt a little crowded and chaotic but I'm sure they smoothed some of that out already, especially with the in-app waitlist activated for the Beaverton location. Upon seating, the waitress showed us how to open the dome to get the sushi from the track and pointed out other things we can order from the screen. Drinks were brought by the robots and now let the sushi adventure begin! The sushi track was filled with fresh and yummy choices, and the signs on the track itself and screen menu did a good job describing all the rolls and other dishes. I'm sorry I don't even remember what we took and what I took pictures of but for $3.85/plate for most and everything tasted fresh. There were a few single specialty pieces that I haven't decided if it was worth it but there were plenty of choices for everyone at our table. The restaurant itself was brightly lit and the most fun part is to discard your plates into the plate disposal tunnel at the table and watch fun animations for every 5 plates and get to play a game for every 15 plates. You don't think you will get that many but trust me...you will! We had a great experience, especially impressed with how the manager responded when we found hair in one of the rolls we ordered. She came over and apologized right away, remade it, and gave us a T-shirt for the inconvenience. The quick acknowledgment and resolution was much appreciated! I definitely plan to return soon in the future and try other things for girls night or date night and it's super fun for kids too!

Yelp
The best revolving sushi bar in Portland! The inside of the restaurant is bright and clean, with both booth seats and bar seating. There's a cute robot that brings you your order as well as staff that helps you. On top of choosing dishes off of the bar, you can also place specific orders using a touch screen in front of you as you dine. As you eat each plate, you can put it into a return slot and after you drop your 15th plate, you can get a toy! They have quite a variety of sushi dishes, ranging from nigiri to rolls. Everything that I had was pretty good, but I would note that the typically higher end items (ie. uni and wagyu) are not the BEST quality, however I still thought it was fine. I loved all of the nigiri I had and the crab tempura as well. Would definitely come back.

Ashia B.

Yelp
First went here during opening week and it had a 2 hr wait list. It was worth it! Many different dishes! Snow crab and sea urchin! (Can't find it at many places for cheap) went a few other times and each time the gacha rewards were so cute! Always fun to watch the robot drink carriers and our orders fly to us with the conveyer belt. The only "bad" thing to say is that it's so popular it's always crowded. But it's definitely worth it. Servers are friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Yan W.

Yelp
I'd give it a 3.5 as some of the dishes we had were a bit fishy. For example, the more expensive uni (since it's 1 piece) was incredibly fishy, which mean it's not very fresh. It's hard because not a lot of people eat it, it's hard to tell if it's fresh based on colors at times, and it's expensive to ship. However, mom and I ate about 5-6 dishes and it was quite expensive. If I went to another conveyor belt place, it's half the price. Yes, I get different things at different places but I can't visit here as often because of the price. However, the sweet shrimp is very good as well as the salmon toro. The seared scallops were good too but they got our order wrong and gave us seared salmon. What happens if they give us the wrong thing? Anyways, I'll come back during special occasions :)

Yelp
Kura sushi is a fun revolving sushi bar with gachapon prizes when you eat 15 plates. I kinda felt like I was transported back to Tokyo with the cute sounds, flashy colors and tablet style ordering. I would stray away from ordering any wagyu or meat sushi here. The meat is super well done and tough. The sushi nigiri cuts themselves are small but it all tastes really good. The shoyu ramen and udon was warming to eat between the cold sushi bites. I'd split a bowl between 2 people since it's pretty large. It's kinda pricey to eat here but I will still be a frequent visitor because I'm a sucker for Japanese things.

Yelp
All right, this is a unique & fun sushi spot. Employees dressed in uniform, politeness is consistent. Feels like you are in a game room ~ loud, anime type decor and TV monitors at every seating area. Order from the touch screen for drinks, specialty dishes, etc. What makes Kura ~ personally, the countertop seating is the most entertaining as you watch your order speed across the above beltline right to your seat. Each seating area has a self-serve plate disposal. The screen will keep track how many plates you have consumed. The monitor will update how well you are ordering and you will receive a toy(s) depending how much you eat. Without the usual empty plate clutter and wanting a trinket reward...you keep ordering. You end up spending $$$ lol. The sushi is a noticeable higher quality than most conveyor belts.
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
For conveyor belt sushi, this place is great! Sushi is relatively fresh, items come out quickly, and the little robot servers are such a fun touch! The miso salmon nigiri is my favourite! They do have a waitlist you can sign up on their app, so recommend!

Yelp
Good evening to all...I have heard about the robots, so between my (2) visit to Fred Meyer, i decided to give it a shot. I walked in about 8 pm and it was pretty empty, but the ambiance of the restaurant was pretty cool...like something out of The Jetsons. Initially i was greeted by a very friendly robot who brought me my water. That was pretty cool. Then after a little learning curve, I ordered 3 rolls on the self serve computer. Very shortly after, my plates came shooting down the conveyor belt right in front of me. They were small orders, but composed very nicely. I got a Kura roll, a spider roll, and a salmon skin roll. All of them were delicious and a tasty impromptu snack. Don't get me wrong, if I was really hungry, there are plenty of plates i would be willing to try. For a first visit i would say A+, I will definitely be back again

Yelp
What a fun experience~ Portland is not lacking in good revolving sushi restaurants and while this one is a bit pricey with all dishes being in the $3 range or higher. They have a lot of fun events to participate in with their 15 plates get a toy program. The fun robot staff that provides you drinks is also a great touch in the tight space. Its great for a quick lunch as well. The sushi is good quality but for the price I might opt for others unless they have a Keychain toy that calls to me.

Yelp
My husband and I absolutely loved our experience dining at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Beaverton! We arrived an hour before they opened on a Saturday morning to secure our spot in line, knowing that wait times can stretch to 2-3 hours on weekends. I've never woken up early on a Saturday morning for sushi before, but It was totally worth it! Technology is the draw here, with their automated sushi delivery system and drink-delivering robots elevating the dining experience. Watching the upper tracks deliver fresh sushi right to your table is fun, for adults and children alike. Choosing your favorite dishes and anticipating their arrival adds an exciting twist to the traditional dining experience, especially when every fifteenth plate of sushi scores you an automatically dispensed free prize! Yes, I fell victim to their marketing ploy, but I left with a full belly and a smile on my face. The sushi itself was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The prices were reasonable, and though the restaurant was busy, we never waited more than 5 minutes for any of the dishes we ordered. Kura successfully merges modern technology with authentic flavors, making it a must-visit spot. If you're in Beaverton, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Just be prepared to get there early--it might be a long wait!

Yelp
I've been in twice now, once as a group and once as a single diner at the counter. Both times have been fantastic. The rice is appropriately seasoned with vinegar. The fish is fresh and delicious. In particular I've been impressed that they carry aji and that it's fresh tasting and delicious. We are a big fan of their broiled mackerel (saba) as well. The only thing I had that wasn't so good was the uni. Service is minimal - you push a button when you need someone and you order off the tablet or from your own phone if you want something that's not on the conveyer. I definitely recommend getting on the wait list through the app ahead of time, or planning for a 45-60 minute wait and going grocery shopping at Trader Joe's nearby to kill time. At 3.80 a plate for most things, it's pretty hard to beat their prices. My one complaint is that they didn't have any beer on tap - just bottles. The Kura locations I've been to in Japan had these cool beer pouring tap vending machines. While we can't expect self service in the US, it would be nice if they offered beer on tap at least.

Yelp
Kura has a really neat business model, and is an example of food service efficiency that has been honed to the point of razor sharpness. The seating available here includes booths and bar seating. At any given seat, you can deposit the plates you've accumulated for cute prizes. I was unable to earn a prize on my own, so I can't speak to the nature of the prizes, unfortunately. This is definitely the kind of place that you want to come to with friends. Overall, the practices that Kura implements allow for very fast service, and good hygiene. They reduce high touch surfaces with their "Mr. Fresh" dish covers, and allow for your area to remain clear and spacious with their dish drop. Drinks are delivered on a little robo-butler, which I actually didn't even notice was behind me for what was probabbly a pretty long time after I ordered my drink. Unfortunately the human staff are not as prompt as the robo-staff. I indicated on the order screen at one point that I would like a refill, but I never saw my human server a single time after introductions. No refills for me. I did get to sit right next to where the conveyer belt came out of the kitchen, and as a result I got to see the flurry of activity behind the scenes. You can tell that their back of house staff work very hard to keep up with the rapid pace of business, but they do a great job of it. The quality of the food is overall pretty good. There were a couple rolls I got that I thought were skimpy or not very fresh, but the vast majority were pretty good. I also tried the Taiyaki with Ice cream for dessert, which is something I've wanted to try for a long time. It was excellent! I was also impressed by the selection, which included Ikura, Uni, and several different kinds of Toro. In conclusion, Kura is a uniquely interesting and efficient experience that I highly reccomend. My feedback to them would be to source fresher Uni and Ika, be more generous with their Ikura, and make sure not to leave your customers in the lurch with refills or at least come up with a way to automate it as well.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and it's very clean here. Perhaps our experience had been marred by a glitch in the system where the plate counter stopped working and my 2 menu orders took forever to come out. At least 15min had passed before those came out. Ky stomach had settled by then. I ordered tuna temakki and fish cheek(s). That's $14 that should've been comped IMO. I mean, how long does it take to reboot the system? I guess somebody had to call IT and be put one hold. But itbtotally killed mine and my bro's overall experience and first visit. It's not just that. It's pricey for tiny portions. For what we spent here, we could've gone to one of the many non-conveyor sushi spots and fed 3-4 people. Affordable? No Good portion size? No Fast service? This day, absolutely not. Would I recommend? Only if you've got deep pockets and a lot of patience. I would like to add that my wife and I go out to sushi about twice a month and we are regulars at a few places in Beaverton. She and I spend about $60 in 30-40 min. My bro and I spent the same amount of time here and it cost us over $100. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon around 1:45pm. It was virtually empty with no wait to get a table. If it were a peak time and packed, I might be a little more understanding. But I just can't.

Yelp
This place was super hyped up. Portland was super excited to get an actual Japanese sushi track that wasn't run by locals. So we got what we wanted and the first month was crazy....long lines, huge waits.....but a couple of months later it was quiet. We walked right in during lunch service on a week day. Over all, the quality is good, each plate is about $4 each, but with other sushi tracks in town that are about a $1 less, I can see why the hype has died down a bit. Still, this is pretty unique in that you can order on the pad at the table and the sushi comes to you down a fun track, the robot delivers drinks, and at the end you deposit your plates in a chute and if you buy enough plates you "win" a little prize that comes to you in a small vending machine at the top of the table. It's fun, but may be more of a novelty than a regular restaurant.

Yelp
We waited quite a while to come to Kura despite hearing about the grand opening date about a couple months prior, the line always seem to be extremely long so we wanted to wait for the crowd to die down a bit. We arrived before noon on a weekend, while I was getting ready to sign in through the tablet at the door, one of the staff came out to greet us and immediately had us seated. We've been to other Kura sushi internationally, I would say the biggest difference upon first look is that they do not have matcha powder and hot water at the table (free in our prior experience), totally understand operation is different in different region, so no points deducted. The other set up, from the ordering system to the conveyor belt and container are all very similar. I normally don't eat fish, but seeing what was offered, I tried couple different otoro options. The toro tasted fresh, quality way surpass all conveyor belt sushi in town, but not as good as locations in Asia. Tamago nigiri, inari, and kappa (cucumber) roll are the staples for my kids. The Tamago is definitely the authentic traditional style and tasty, inari was very average, kappa was fresh and nothing stands out but I also didn't expect that to be unique. My favorite part about Kura is that they offer beef nigiris, oh boy, super tastyyy! I will also note that wasabi is the real stuff, as in grinded from the plant and not chemically made, the scent, texture, and taste of the wasabi is fantastic. We finished off with a Taiyaki, which we thought was a bit too oily, not sure if it's supposed to be fried, despite saying all that, it was delicious. Knocking half a star off for not having a lower tiered pricing for the most basic sushi items. Overall an enjoyable and fun meal!

Yelp
Best revolving sushi | great menu variety Wow, this is an experience and tops all of the other revolving sushi spots. The quality is excellent and the service is great! Highly recommend coming here on a weekday right when they open. Put your name down at the kiosk stand outside and it'll tell you how long your wait is. It was about 5-10 minutes right when they opened. A booth accommodated my small family of 4 (includes infant in a stroller). There are so many plates on the conveyor belt with various types of salmon, so if you're a salmon lover, you'll love this spot. I loved the salmon nigiri with umami oil. Salmon toro is also delicious and seared salmon too. Really though, all of their nigiri just melts in your mouth. Good-sized slabs of fish on top of rice. Their beef wagyu is also delicious! They have caterpillar, tiger, California (with real crab), and Philadelphia rolls. They also have udon and ramen, which look really good if you're not full from all of the sushi! Since we sat at the very end of the rotation, a lot of plates were picked, so we ordered on their tablet at the table. Great idea for those that know exactly what they want and can't wait for a specific dish to come around. We also ordered dessert--matcha/black sesame mochi and taiyaki--to end my husband's birthday lunch. 25 plates + desserts was $120. Super fun place: the more you eat the more prizes you earn haha! My daughter loved the little ball that dispensed from above. She received a figurine from One Piece. Service is awesome. We were greeted and briefed on how this whole process works. I ordered more matcha mochi from the tablet at our table but accidentally received strawberry, so they quickly remedied the mistake and personally came out to give me matcha. You can pay at the table via tablet or by a server. Love this place and plan to come back!

Yelp
I had heard stories about how popular this place was and thrilled to hear Beaverton was getting a spot. Before going, I knew there would be a wait, which thankfully there's a few shops nearby to pass time. Total wait was about an hour, and they text to let you know your seating is ready. We got a nice spot and immediately you'll notice the wild amount of things going on. Convener belts spinning, TVs playing little anime videos, touch screens, and even prize balls dropping out. A bit overwhelming and a little loud, I was ready to order. The revolving pods that go by seemed very plentiful and has a lot of variety. I immediately went for the Wagyu beef sushi, followed by salmon and snow crab. If you wanted a specialty item, theres a touch screen right above your seating area that allows you to pick drinks or sushi items. The Wagyu beef was the BEST and good enough I ordered three more servings. White Snow crab was also nice. I caught that they had a lot of items from the Nintendo Pikmin franchise including blueberry Pikmin cheesecake and other items. The prize balls will reward you after 15 total plates which was no problem for two people. The prize ball was, ok I guess? A magnetic bookmark with the Pikmin mascot on it, with 3 varieties of red, yellow, blue. A few complaints and I understand it was busy, but it might be worth noting for future visits. The whole touch screen and do it yourself model is very new to me, so it took a bit of learning. We only saw our server at the beginning and end of our visit, but would have liked some explanation, especially the 15 plate reward, or that the Pikmin collab also meant a t-shirt for spending over a certain amount of money. We strived to hit the 15 plates near the end so I figure get a cheaper plate. Oddly enough the Watermelon slice plate cost the same as the Cheesecake. Absolutely worth going to for the experience, just expect a louder sushi place than most, and do some research on the Kura app beforehand to see if there are any giveaways or rewards.

Yelp
For fans of conveyor belt sushi, hold your horses... there's a new sheriff in town! Originally from Japan, this sushi chain's first Oregon outpost recently opened in Beaverton Town Square. It's novel, fun and tastes good! Each seat or table sits next to a conveyor belt, empty plate slot and order touchscreen, which makes the entire eating process much more efficient and largely contact free. You can choose dishes from the conveyor belt - which have an antibacterial cover named "Mr. Freshness" - or order directly from your seat. The full menu, including drinks, is available table side with limited need to flag down servers (although, that option is also available). Orders arrive directly to you minutes later via conveyor belt. It's both fast and efficient. Once you're done with each plate, empty ones are slid into a slot, which counts how many you've gone through and will calculate towards your final bill. (It even plays fun cartoons, as you feed it more plates.) Food quality definitely feels superior to other conveyor belt sushi places and some of the freshness potentially rivals some sushi adjacent restaurants. I particularly appreciated that they use real snow crab vs. imitation crab meat. But note that the standard price per plate is $3.85 and specialty items cost more (e.g. ramen), so the overall price floor is higher than competitors. This is a popular place at the moment, so lines can be longer on weekends. That said, I would recommend arriving around opening time for lunch and before 5 pm to minimize wait times. (We waited for ~50 minutes @ 5:20 pm on a Sunday night.) This is definitely a fun, new and tasty sushi option in the area... and I'm very much looking forward to going back!

Yelp
Second time trying to eat here and success! The first time the wait was over an hour since it was Saturday. This time we put our names on the list and then went elsewhere while we waited, the wait was about 45 min on a Sunday evening. Not as bad. The food was good and I enjoyed the fun overall experience of the place. You can order on the screen or on your phone and it's cool when the sushi shoots out in front of you on the belt. It's also nice to be able to dispose of your plates in the slot in front of you so easily. No more stacks of plates waiting to be picked up! It is a little pricey but it was nice that uni and some of the premium items were an option. The ones I likely wouldn't order again were the charbroiled mackerel and the American wagyu. The softshell crab was also way over breaded. My favorites were the yuzu jalapeño sweet shrimp, amaebi, seared scallop Japanese mayo, and the seared salmon with miso cream cheese. Sea bream with yuzu pepper was a highlight as well. We ate about 30 plates between two people and were stuffed trying to try everything. Will need to come back to make our way through the rest of the menu. Halfway through our meal; the belt that sends out sushi you order broke but the guy who brought them out instead was so sweet and nice and was literally running.

Yelp
I was in town and was pretty excited to see this was near where I was staying, as I went to the location in Tokyo and enjoyed it - I didn't realize until I got there that it only opened just recently! I believe I showed up around 4:30 on a Friday and the kiosk at the door gave me a 30-40 minute estimated wait (dining solo), which was pretty accurate. By the tail end of my wait, I noticed the wait time had jumped all the way up to 120 minutes, so plan accordingly. I was seated along the outer edge, which made dining very awkward since all the hungry folks who were waiting outside were standing right behind me (so fair warning if you don't love the feeling of people hovering behind you), and I completely missed the instructions on how to remove the plates from the belt (grab the plate and lift up) so my first couple attempts were a bit stressful knowing I was being watched at the same time. The food was great - I loved everything I got and liked that you could send your plate back through the feeder in the wall instead of letting them stack up beside you. I did order a side of chicken karaage which was tasty - not sure if I'll ever have the room to order any noodles with all the sushi options but I like that it's there. I should be in town a few more times in the future so I think this will be a place I'll be at whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
I think I found my new favorite sushi place. It's next to Beaverton Fred Meyer and Honeybaked Ham. Standard train but everything is the same price, everything is labeled and you can custom order items that come zipping to you on the above track. Used plates go into a slot at the table which tracks. Drink orders come delivered on a robot. Tried the gooey butter cake. Tastes like old fashioned donut. Heard they have bidet toilets but did not use. Everything was fun, clean and welcoming. Sushi was great too!

Yelp
So happy we have a location near the Portland area now! Food is yummy. Prices were all the same. $3.75 for each plate, which was a little steep in my opinion but would just recommend getting the higher quality rolls. Love all the seared meat rolls Service was good. Wait was about 30-40 mins. Waiters checked on us often. Had to order a lot of items since the line wasn't replenished that often or it ran out quickly. Place looked and felt like any other Kura location. Liked the privacy of the booths. Overall, such a fun experience. Would recommend coming here with a least 4 people to get more prizes! Will be back

Yelp
I've heard about Kura sushi from when I was in LA but never get to try so was very excited to know that we'll have a joint in town! I knew there would be a wait before coming but I didn't expect to wait for an hour + haha but my friends and I just joined their wait list and walked around to Trader Joe's while waiting. Food: 2.5/5 One word mid! Did not expect much from conveyer belt sushi and it did deliver just that. The beef was cold and rubbery, uni had a weird bitter after taste, scallops was mushy I had no idea what I was eating honestly but I do have favorite out of everything I've tried which is the negitoro taste good and not fishy at all! Service: 4/5 Since it was our first time dining here the staff did give us a brief instruction on how to take sushi out of the shell and how the prize work. Even though our water did not come after like 30 mins ish of us dining we didn't really mind it. There's a button to call for service as well. Ambiance: 5/5 I love the one piece decor all over their wall!! Makes dining so much more fun and I heard that they had a snoopy theme previously so I'll definitely be on the look out for their next theme set! Overall I had so much fun seeing the food flying down the conveyor belt I felt like a kid again and after 15 plates you get a surprise prize that has either pin, mini figurines or small keychain. Don't come with a high expectation that their sushi grade will be superb haha but I do like that it's $3.85 for each plate. Wouldn't be my first choice to dine in but it'll be fun to come back again once the hype dies down a little so the wait wouldn't be as long, but it was a fun first dining experience :)

Yelp
Sushi Disneyland. Come here for the fun! I think Kura sits between the standard sushi train places and a normal neighborhood Japanese joint. Yes this is a chain. A good chain with consistent items and nationwide promotions. Kura opened here in Beaverton during a One Piece promotion. Being fans of the manga way way back, we had to go and brace the opening crowds. Sushi is great, fresh. Almost everything we tried we liked. The squid was a bit tough/thick and the uni bitter, but no other complaints about the food. The bikkurapon game where you put your used plates into the slot machine was fun and exciting. It is a bit loud tho, so folks with audio/sensory sensitivities take note. The table we sat at, it did not dispense any prizes tho. We put in 36 plates- zero prizes!! You are supposed to get a prize every 15 plates. So disappointing. We flagged a server down to point this out and they just shrugged and apologized. If they can add that as a task before opening, checking all the bikkurapon machines to ensure there are prizes in there or that it's functioning correctly, that would be awesome as that is the main draw of this place. We left empty handed (had really hoped for some One Piece pins) but bellies full.

Yelp
Knowing this is a very popular spot that just recently opened, there is a lot of hype and that means a long wait. We waited for 2 hours for a table for 8 and that was technically two tables for 4 next to each other. If you can put that aside, the experience inside was 5 stars. Fast, friendly service. You can order on the kiosk and it comes within 5 min. The servers come check in with you often. And drinks are served on a robot! The food quality and portions were excellent and a good value. There's even hot fried food options on the menu and noodles like udon or ramen. My fav was the golden crunch roll and the taiyaki (dessert). Highly recommend! But don't come hungry because you're probably gonna have to wait!

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time because we were waiting for the crowds to die down. I was pleasantly surprised! It's not a fancy place with over the top rolls like Shoten, but it is far better than the typical revolving sushi. The sushi is very fresh, and there are a great many things to choose from. The atmosphere is strait out of Tokyo, and in my mind I was immediately propelled into a fast food lunch somewhere in the Shibuya district. The delivery system is fun, the food is tasty, and we were stuffed. It can get pricey, but then any sushi place can. We got out for under $30 for two and I was still too stuffed to eat dinner. I am a fan of salmon, and could eat my body weight in sashimi. That being said, there were several different salmon offerings, which was a lot of fun. Honestly, there is plenty for non-sushi eaters as well. Beef options, udon, ramen, and tempuras. All of it is either taken from the belt or ordered from a touch screen and delivered on the top belt or by robot. You then deposit each plate in a table-side receptacle so everything is auto calculated for you. Easy peasy!! Oh...wait...one more thing!! Do yourself a favor and get a hand roll in soy paper. They don't use the crappy colorful soy paper. They use the genuine thing! White with sesame seeds, soft, and tasty. I might have left my heart there. We will be back!
