Kura Revolving Sushi Bar - Review - Berkeley - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Kura is a chain that has landed in Berkeley, giving the Bay yet another place for plucking nigiri, temaki, and rolls off a conveyor belt. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Julia Chen

Me and my boyfriend went at 7pm on a saturday and waited in the virtual queue for 2 hours. The inside is very fun and Japanese tourist themed. They have little robots and if you eat 15 plates you get a random keychain prize. The quality is ok and the price per plate was a little steep so we mostly only ate the premium things. You can also order any of the dishes on a touch screen directly to your table and they come on the top conveyer belt which was also fun! The bathrooms also have Japanese toilets with bidets. Overall fun experience, good for groups and families, especially if you aren’t familiar with sushi so you can see it right in front of you before you decide to eat it! Could also be good if you don’t have a big appetite since each plate is $3.95 on the belt.

Google
Fun experience to dine here. Sushi was okay but mostly it’s the experience that matters here. Theres serving robot, unique ordering experience as well as the way you can return dishes at the table.

This place was so much fun! I'm from a smaller city and have only seen these places on YouTube and food network so I was so excited when I found this place! The staff was super helpful and friendly and the whole experience was awesome! I will definitely be back here!

Google
The service was excellent! I ordered a small gift on the ordering machine, but when the conveyor belt came, I found it was a duplicate. I took it to the staff and asked if I could exchange it. Since it was extra, I could return it to you. The staff readily agreed and told me I could keep one and she would get me the correct one. What a pleasant experience!

Absolutely love the Sushis and Mochis. Extremely delicious Sushis 😋 . Even the Mochis were good, especially the strawberry mochi, Matcha mochi was okay types, not that great

Google
The quality of the sushi was amazing, I was like in a buffet in heaven lol. Sushi came in under 15 minutes when I ordered katsu salmon rolls that weren’t on the conveyer belt.

Google
Such a fun restaurant near the university. The staff was quick to seat us and friendly. From there they kind of leave you alone since no assistance is needed to order or be served. I enjoyed the people watching and how we could relax and eat whatever caught our eye without rush. Unfortunately it wasn't very good on the day I visited.

Google
This is a really fun place to go get sushi. The slow conveyor is really nice to have lots of choices and then the touchpad can be used for the special orders coming out on the express conveyor. It’s really cool. Plus a robot delivers your drinks.

Yelp
Food was amazing. My 2 kiddos crazy about the food. I've to control them to not eat too much. Wow really delicious and fresh.

Yelp
A fun and pretty good sushi experience. My boyfriend and I first came here when this location opened at the beginning of 2025. I have had revolving sushi before so was excited to see this come to Berkeley. The wait was very long. We joined the waitlist at 6:30 pm on a Friday and finally got to sit at 8. So be warned, it will probably take a while! The interior is nice. You can either sit in a booth which is more private, or opt for bar style seating which is side by side. We got a booth. The way this works is a train of sushi is constantly making its way around the restaurant holding a variety of items. The conveyor belt has the names of the items that come by, which is nice. There is then a second conveyor belt set above the constantly moving one. This is where you get sushi that you order from the tablet at your table. You pay per plate, and if you order a certain amount of plates you win a prize! My favorite items were the salmon skin handrail, yuzu tuna nigiri, and spicy tuna dishes. I love tuna and the quality was pretty good! The flavors they make are also nice and complimentary. Another unexacting star of the meal was actually our dessert; TAIYAKI! I love taiyaki and I really love red bean. It was so good and warm! Yum! My boyfriend never had it before and it quickly became a favorite of his. Overall, if you are looking for a fun eating experience, totally check this set out! You basically make your own experience, so there isn't much to lose.

Yelp
I'm neither a stranger to nor a snob about conveyor belt sushi. I think it has its place in the sushi universe. It's just not in the same galaxy as Jiro or places with Michelin stars, and I think making such a futile comparison misses the point of these operations. Convenience. Price. Reasonable grade fish. Oh and the chance to imitate Lucy and Ethel at the chocolate factory. Speed it up, Otto! Jamie W and I had been meaning to try this location for a while. Years ago we had seen (though didn't patronize) the Kura near the Tokyo Skytree. Now there are hundreds of locations around the world. We came on a busy Saturday afternoon where we were seated next to what looked to be the later part of the lower belt because at least 75% of the plates were empty by the time they got to our table. That didn't matter much because I prefer to order the sushi myself and not leave it to chance. Those plates were delivered quickly on the top conveyor belt. We ended up sharing ten plates at $3.99 each, quite a reasonable deal considering the variety of nigiri and rolls we ate. Among the nigiri, the Garlic Ponzu Salmon (Photo 9) and the Seared Salmon (Photo 3) were our favorites. I liked the Umami Oil Hokkai Octopus Gunkan (Photo 2), but Jamie wasn't a fan. The Spicy Tuna Roll (Photo 7) and the Crunchy Roll (Photo 4) were pretty standard, but the Kura Roll held more textural interest with the seared salmon contrasting nicely with the avocado and shrimp mayo (Photo 5). The most disappointing was the cold American Wagyu, just way too chewy to savor (Photo 8). We did take a couple of plates off the bottom belt. One was the crunchy-fresh Umami Cucumber Salad (Photo 10), and the other was the Warabi Mochi dusted in kinako (Photo 6). I could tell people were avoiding it because they had no idea what it was. It just happens to be one of my favorite Japanese food cart treats. We actually had two plates of it. Speed it up, Otto! FOOD - 3 stars... kinda all over the map...a big plus for the warabi mochi AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...all about where you sit along the conveyor belt...expect a lot of overexcited kids SERVICE -3 stars...fairly minimal human contact between the conveyor belt and the robot serving our Diet Cokes TOTAL - 3 stars...pretty functional with the sushi you would expect RELATED - Exploring Berkeley? Yelp
Fun restaurant in a very popular spot. We've been here several times now as of writing this review. Probably because we really enjoy it here. The whole premise of revolving sushi is they have a conveyor belt with sushi rotating through all the seats and you grab what you want. You can even order some on a tablet and have them zip to you on a dedicated conveyor belt. They also made ordering into a game. You can return your trays in this collector and they tally the number of trays you ate for your bill. They made it a game and will give you trinket prizes to get you to your next "milestone". Its obvious what they're trying to do and I guess the number of trinkets I have at home means its working... This place isn't A-tier sushi, maybe a solid B-tier sushi. But their sushi tastes great! We really like the inari, sweet tofu skin with pockets of rice. We also like the Kura roll with thin lemon slices. The salmon skin hand rolls are a hit or miss, depending if they wrap it well. Sometimes you get an imbalance of ingredients or the salmon skins are just soggy. We usually finish it off with some udon or ramen then a dessert item. Their ice cream is a must-try! Final note, they use actual wasabi root. Great touch! Overall, fairly happy and we'll be coming back for more to satisfy our sushi craving.

Yelp
Kura is always a fun experience with the conveyor belt! We went with our baby and they were quite accommodating with high chair and there are plenty of kids around. The food is good but not top tier sushi - but that's not really why you would come here. It's all about the conveyor belt fun. It was weird, the app to get on the waitlist unfortunately didn't work at all. Luckily we went a bit earlier and school is out!
google avatar

Yelp
You come here for the revolving fun! I know there's millions of good sushi places in the Bay Area, but really, I'm not coming here to expect top notch sushi, but rather the fun experience chatting, watch the sushi rotating on the belt, open the "egg" to see what's the gift inside. The revolving belt is always full of-- they replenish them fast! With great variety of things you can take. For things that are better enjoy warm (like eel) make sure to order directly from the screen. You got to eat a little bit of everything. My favorite is the roasted eel with cream cheese. Plus, the Taiyaki in ice cream is so good, warm and crispy.

Yelp
It was okay. I went for the robot, not the food. Sushi & sashimi are decent. Sliced very thin. Definitely not the best. Service is also okay. I mean if you want sushi on a budget, I'd come here. I guess I completely forgot the pics! Sorry.

Yelp
Kura has always held a special place in my heart, being the best conveyor belt sushi experience I've found in the US that's comprable to those in Japan. With a variety of nigiri rolls to choose from, I always go for the salmon nigiri (seared with mayo, seared with cream cheese, ponzu, sesame oil - you can't go wrong). In addition to the sushi, the noodles and desserts are surprisingly good. The udon noodles are chewy, with a savory onion broth. Dessert-wise, the warabimochi are light and a nice complement to the nigiri. The matcha and black sesame mochi are not too sweet and an excellent balance between ice cream and rice dough. The highlight is the taiyaki dessert, a freshly fried red bean-filled waffle that's crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with vanilla ice cream, it itself is worth a visit to Kura. If you're looking for a great sushi belt experience, including winning prizes as you get through plates and being served by fun robo-waiters, Kura is always THE place to go.

Yelp
Kid Friendly. Food is decent. Service is good. Reminds you of sushi train in Tokyo. Would definitely recommend

Yelp
Had to try this new sushi place. The service was ok. The food was ok. Pricy for the little food you get. The vegetable or two pieces of shrimp tempura was $9 to 10 dollars and you got 2 little mini pieces that were greasy and not worth getting... it was a different experience having to order on the screen and the food shooting down to your table above the sushi boat that's making its way around to choose from. And a robot brings your drinks. When ordering over 15 items you get a prize that dropped from a ball machine above the screen.. it was for sure a different experience more for kids and younger customers.

Yelp
The place is really new. They got the robots to serve the water. The plates is 3.75 so be warned. Service was good. The helpers would quickly get what we needed and the conveyor was great about getting our orders. Very new. The tables are 4 seaters so good with small groups. The wait wasn't long when we went but always check the app. For wait times. I'm sure it crazy on Friday. Looking at everybody's bad review and this isn't a place where you get the best sushi. This isn't for you. It's a fast and fun place. If you are looking for superior quality and omakase this place isn't for you. Let the people who want to have fun sit. The sushi snobs need to read the room.

Yelp
3/5 stars Kura is a well known revolving sushi bar that just opened its location up in Berkeley. My husband I checked in on the kiosk and luckily since it's located in downtown berkeley, we did end up going to the bookstore for 15 minutes to waste time. When we arrived back, we got a text message saying to check in to let the restaurant know that we were here. I did notice that we got seated before other people that were waiting longer than us so I feel like the queue for this place is having some problems? Please note these were people with the same amount of people in the party as us. I would say that the quality of sushi is decent. There were some plates on on the conveyer belt where it felt that the fish was cut super thin and wasn't worth the amount. During the time I was here, all the dishes were $3.75/plate so I have a feeling as they get their feet more on the ground, the price of the dishes will reflect like the other stores. I will mention that my husband did order the taiyaki and when it came it wasn't fully cooked. The squid was definitely still frozen! Other than that, it was an okay experience.
google avatar

Austin W.

Yelp
I stopped by during opening day at 5:00 p.m. and the wait was around 30 minutes for a party of 6. They haven't enabled remote waitlist yet so you'll have to physically sign up on the iPad waitlist that's in front of the door. Fortunately, the system is setup to text you when your table is almost ready, so this gives you plenty of time to wander around and explore downtown. Once they're ready for you they'll call your name out loud at the door so be ready with your whole party or else you won't get seated. The wait time estimate was pretty spot on. If you've been to Kura's other locations before, the experience here is identical. Every table has access to the conveyor belt where you can push a button to open up the capsule and remove the plate when your preferred sushi comes by. After you're done consuming your plate of sushi, you can deposit your plates into a collector at the end of the table. The total amounts of plates your table has consumed will then be updated on the iPad screen. For every 15 plates that you consume, a toy capsule will be dispensed randomly. If you find you can't finish 15 plates but still want a small toy (random sushi keychain at the time), you can also order one of the toys directly from the iPad for the price of a single plate of sushi. In terms of amenities, soy sauce is available at the table as well as pickled ginger. If you want wasabi, you'll need to request it from your server. Fish quality is generally pretty good. The fish to rice ratio is also quite nice. The only dish that our party had a serious issue with was the uni. We ordered eight separate plates of uni and each one was excessively bitter: not a pleasant bite, and overall, a costly mistake. Another dish I'd recommend avoiding is the watermelon. It's priced the same as fish and included is a pretty sad, small serving of out-of-season watermelon pieces. Another more minor criticism is it feels like the rice could be packed a little tighter for some of the nigiri pieces. Overall, I'm impressed by how quickly the food is coming out on the conveyor belt. Definitely not seeing items stick around for long on the conveyor. Don't forget there's an iPad overhead the conveyor as well where you can order specific items you may not see on the belt. I would recommend stopping by during the soft opening to take advantage of their premium sushi plates at $3.95 per plate. Overall great experience for a soft opening. The staff was friendly and very attentive to our table throughout our meal and even solicited our candid feedback of our meal experience at the end.
google avatar

Edison H.

Yelp
Conveyor sushi is really just a gimmick here. The quality of food, for the most part, fell short. The uni had a funky flavor and a strange bouncy texture. The sweet shrimp was not buttery at all. One of them even still have some of its guts attached. The negitoro didn't taste like fish at all and I ate something that was just pure mush. The rice was consistent in shape, but they didn't stick with the fish. The Kumamoto wagyu was super dried. They did have a couple of decent options though. We won the taiyaki keychain from the gacha (you get one after ordering enough). One thing I do want to point out is this is a great spot for small groups. They serve a limited selection of alcohol. The staff are friendly people. Nothing remotely bad about my interactions and the ones I've seen.
google avatar

Elaine C.

Yelp
You're paying for the experience. This is a great place to take your girlfriend if she's mad at you or needs cheering up. Standouts: spicy tuna crunchy roll, salmon golden crunchy roll, spider roll, taiyaki ice cream We got three huge spider rolls (2 pc) and two plates of the salmon golden crunchy roll (4 pc). I enjoyed the rolls more than the nigiri in general, which tells me that the variety and being able to choose from what's in front of you, not the quality of fish, is the star here. The only thing issue I had was the fishiness of the yuzu jalapeño sweet shrimp. The rice in the nigiri and rolls could have been packed a little tighter--I barely had three seconds to lift my sushi from plate to mouth. The amount of wasabi given to us was almost negligible, and we had to ask our waiter for more. Otherwise, presentation and quality of food were pretty good. 45 minute wait was worth it.

Yelp
TLDR; it's fun and tasty! Served several hits of dopamine, which was needed after a long week. My partner has been talking about wanting to try conveyor belt sushi for some time. I was less than enthused, but as soon as I saw there was a spot in Berkeley, I knew where to take them on a date. We arrived Saturday night, round 7pm, as a party of two. We saw a big group waiting outside, so I braced myself for a 40-60 min wait. We were greeted at the door and added our names to the tablet sign-in. We were quoted a 40 min wait, but a staff person walked by saying the wait would likely be less, which was music to my ears. We were shown the waiting area, past some tables and a couple robot waiters. We waited maybe 5 minutes. It was amazing. We sat on the left side of the restaurant, and it was great. We enjoyed about 17 plates (had to get to 15 to see what would happen, lol) and really enjoyed the experience. We committed to the experience while managing our expectations around the sushi. Is the best sushi? No. Is it tasty, yes. We also got a few non-sushi items, like the takoyaki and the warabimochi. For two people and tip, we spent about $90, which is a nice treat. We couldn't do the full experience often, AND I am sure we will be back at some point. I think this would be a fun place to take a kiddo, but I caveat that with saying I don't have kiddos.

Yelp
This branch is not too shabby! I love Kura and have been to multiple locations. One thing is for sure, the fish quality is still awesome across all the branches. Food was great and service is fast, ambiance was fine, all as per usual. This location had some shabby reviews so I was curious to see if they were true, but our experience seemed to have been pretty good! The only downside is that the hot food items are okay. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and it was SOOO watered down. No flavor. Everything else was great.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Good sushi, fun restaurant, like the other locations but not quite as big. The staff needs to make sure the restaurant is in order.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
The sushi is pretty decent and the wasabi is way better than any other sushi joint around. The conveyor belt is so fun with the sushi being just rolled out, but the wait time is funny because the ones I wanted were always taken. Luckily, you can order but I'm patience I can wait and digest.
google avatar

Megan F.

Yelp
Came for our 3rd time on a Friday at 6pm. We're seated in about 3 minutes at a nice booth in the corner. The food was fresh, beautiful, and delicious. Our 10 yr old really loves the Philadelphia roll and Taiyaki ice cream dessert. My favorites are the Caterpillar roll and the Golden crunchy roll. The watermelon cubes were a lovely refreshing bite too! It's so fun to try new things without much of a commitment. Bill was about $100 for two of us but it was worth it!!
google avatar

Monika T.

Yelp
I thought the food was pretty good, and I fully enjoyed it. Got on waitlist and was seated upon arrival. It was more frustrating looking for parking then the need to stand in line. I love the handrolls being 3.95. I will be back
google avatar

Viki N.

Yelp
This was my first experience at a Kura restaurant and it happens to be a newly opened location too so I figured it should be good. Well I was completely wrong. I went for many of the premium options like uni, kumamoto wagyu, scallop, and they all either tasted funky or bland and/or had strange texture. Why was the uni bouncy?? And the negi toro was just flavorless mush. This is really just a fun gimmick for the conveyer belt sushi experience, but I'm definitely not going to return to another Kura.

Yelp
google avatar

Kylie Q.

Yelp
Service is fast, food is good. Before you get the inari, it would be good to know that all it is happens to be soggy, cold tofu skin. Beware. And the ambiance is amazing! It's just like Japan, from the bidet bathrooms to the outrageously clean everything. I can't express my appreciation enough for the bathrooms. The bidets are islands of refuge in a sea of food. I can't thank Kura Sushi enough for that. *sobs in gratitude*
google avatar

Yelp
I had such a fun experience at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Berkeley! The whole setup is super unique there's a bar where plates of sushi pass by on a conveyor belt, and you can just grab what looks good. It felt like a game and a meal all in one. I also loved how the food I ordered came out on a separate belt and stopped right in front of me so cool! And then a little robot came by to deliver our drinks, which totally made my day. On top of all that, the sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
It's a nice experience! My friends and I came by on a Sunday for a belated birthday lunch when it first opened. We all found street parking fairly close by ~2-3 blocks away. There was a line, but luckily their waitlist gives you the option to put your name and phone number down so that you can walk around while you wait if you want. You'll get a text to check in with the host when it's almost your turn. This is a chain restaurant with a few other Bay Area locations; my friend says this spot tastes better than the location in Pleasanton! We all thought it was ok, you are mainly paying for the novelty of the revolving sushi bar. We barely took anything off the rotating bar since it was easier (probably faster too) to order from the tablet. Once you get a certain amount of plates you will get a gachapon (each table has one)! The place was clean, staff is nice, and ordering food was fast and easy.
google avatar

Linda B.

Yelp
Good food Good service Decent ambiance The dessert my kiddos wanted to try was not available when I went there - so that males me give one star less - but other than that this place is nice.
google avatar

Stacey J.

Yelp
Actually really enjoyed coming here. From their menu selections to their service, everything was perfect! Definitely coming back :)

Yelp
Overall a positive outcome for both husband and I. It was different and we enjoyed the experience. Was the sushi great , it was edible some better than others . Our place in Concord was better in taste and flavor wise . However in terms of selection this place offered more choices . We enjoyed the ambiance, the robot service was fun and we cleared 15 plates and received a reward . This is a nice edition to the city of Berkeley and there are a lot of Asian cuisine within the community due influx of international students studying and living there for couple of years until they graduate.

Yelp
We reserved a time and were seated promptly after arriving at the time (although I think they also were taking in walk ins). The food was not as good as other Kura locations I've been too. For the first 15-20 minutes, there was only Nigiri and no rolls, and we were seated at the end of the loop, so if there were any rolls most of the time they were gone by the time they got to us. Eventually rolls came, but we had ordered them to our table, so it was a bit of a bummer. The atmosphere was clean but pretty bland as the restaurant is new. Overall I like Jura, but this location was not my favorite.
google avatar

Kai M.

Yelp
The restaurant's communication system seems disorganized. Their website advertises a $5 coupon for newsletter sign-ups; When I asked about why I never received the coupon, a staff member vaguely mentioned that the deal is only valid for "recurring customers." This policy isn't clearly stated anywhere, and they should definitely add an asterisk or some other clarification to avoid misleading customers. The service was good. The food, however, was pretty inconsistent. The hokkaido scallop was fresh, but the garlic ponzu salmon was awful and gave me a migraine. The rice should've been packed tighter too because it kept falling apart

Lari B.

Yelp
My friends were a little late meeting me here, so I had a blast getting started myself! It's very hard NOT to with those revolving plates going by. I used to go to a small place in SF with the cute revolving boats, so this brought me back to that nice memory. Very tasty, fresh sushi and being my first time here, the staff were very kind helping me along with how it worked with the plates/billing. When the robot went by to deliver drinks, it was comical. We didn't have a lot of time here as we were heading to a movie, but I will definitely be back with more friends!
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
This place was so much fun! I'm from a smaller city and have only seen these places on YouTube and food network so I was so excited when I found this place! The staff was super helpful and friendly and the whole experience was awesome! I will definitely be back here!

Yelp
We got in a little before their dinner rush, we had reasonable expectations for this place, knowing it won't be great but at least decent. This place used to be 85 degrees bakery, the layout is ok, we got sat right by the entrance which was okish. The nigiri selection and variety is there but lots of items are not available especially the seasonal items, you can't order from the tablet above, just base on your luck, all of their nigiri are machine push and shaped, all their lack luster inexperienced staff just need to place a piece of fish or shrimp or whatever on top but even there seems hard for them, unagi pieces are mushy and fall apart, rainbow roll (3 pcs) is missing a piece of fish........ their gimmick is to temp you to eat 15 plates to get a toy and at $3.95 each, you can easily be around $60, a family of 4 or group of 6 can quickly rack up the bill to over $250 and higher. One thing we do like is their separate codes for restroom but it could be from 85 degrees. We do have their app and membership but when ask about their promotional item, they ran out . For the price we paid, we could have went to other sushi joint and get better quality sushi. I can't recommend this, their 1st location in Cupertino or Pleasanton is a little better and at least have parking. 2 stars is being generous
google avatar

Kaelin C.

Yelp
This location is honestly the best kura I've been to. The quality of the fish is just right. I loved the octopus, scallops and the salmon the most. The tantanmen was delicious and had an egg with perfectly salty yolk. The noodles were the perfect consistency, I recommend it. Clean facility.
google avatar

C C.

Yelp
You have to sign up on the tablet outside, then you get a text confirmation. Note the time range listed for your wait. Wander around Half-price Books until 15 minutes before the earlier time in the range given, then walk back. Your name should be up soon. I heard that you will get a text when it is your turn and you can text back and say you are on your way but I haven't tested that myself. Toilets are fancy! The place is clean and staff are kind, patient, and attentive. The whole endeavor is pretty fast since you don't really have to wait too long for anything. I think kids would like this place. This sushi is $3.95 a plate. I was sure there would be more rice in the dishes to offset costs but the proportions weren't bad at all. It is exactly what you would expect and exactly worth the price so don't be silly and unreasonable in your reviews. I think it is a good deal.

Yelp
went around 7pm, had a 1.5 hr wait since it opened pretty recently. pretty much the same as other kuras. sushi was alright. the crispy rice with spicy tuna was the most memorable but it also easily got too greasy. salmon nigiri was the next favorite. grabbed most of the dishes from the conveyor belt except for a miso soup we had to order. fun to experience a conveyor sushi belt place, but i'd rather make the trip to jtown in sf for better spots. the bill also added up pretty quickly. spent about $70 for two people including tax/tips when the rolls from whole foods bar wouldve done the job. customer service on the other hand was really good :)

Yelp
We came up last weekend to visit my daughter in Berkeley and she wanted to try this new sushi place. This was my first time here so I didn't know what to expect. My daughter had added us to the waitlist, and we got the text back by the estimated time that was table was almost ready. We walked in to check in with the front and were asked to wait outside until our name was called. We ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes before we were seated. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the restaurant was the strong smell of chlorine. So strong it stuck to my clothing when we walked out of the restaurant. Besides that , the quality of the fish was decent for what you pay for. Experience was fun.

Yelp
Very pleasant and fun experience. The waiters on wheels are cute. The best sushi was the salmon nigiri and the unagi one. The weakest dish was the vegetable tempura; it was okay for $3.95 Cold sake was quite good and a good deal at $5. I will definitely go back.

Yelp
I love visiting any of Kyra Revolving Sushi. I just moved to Berkeley from SoCal and I used to frequently visit the one in Sherman Oaks. The food and very never disappoint. Even better that it's just a couple miles from home.

Yelp
Came here for lunch weekday, no wait. Variety of selection was good. I wasn't sure where to expect my manual order to arrive (hint: there's a 2nd conveyor above the regular one but ours didn't make an alert sound like others) none of my request came by robot sadly. Fish was fresh and staff resolved issues quickly. Oh and surprised to see a Toto heated bidet in the bathroom!

Yelp
MIght have been good food, but I'll never know. I ordered an entree and a side through Doordash. They charged me for everything. When I showed up, they were out of the entree. They tried to give me only the side order. I told them that I was not interested in that. Their attitude was that they could care less, and it was too late to cancel the order. I had to spend most of my lunch break working with Doordash to get a refund. Their little robots bouncing around the place care more about the customers than the human staff does.

Yelp
Exactly my brow level. Great price for the quality. If you like squid nigiri, they get the texture just right. Most other nigiri items are on par in quality with places that cost 50% more.

Yelp
First of all. I'm Japanese ( ) Overall I had fun w fun food & friendly staffs (**) To avoid crowds, we went around 3pm. Easy parking, plenty of open seats. About Sushi, We prefer less rice, but, more rice & less fish is expected for this kind of restaurant, so it's ok. Quality of fish ... it's not fair to compare to Kura sushi in Japan but you can do better w yellowtail for sure. It didn't look good & didn't taste well. Sea urchins are understandably not so good. I'm gonna skip those next time. We enjoyed scallops a lot Ice cold warabi mochi was sooo gooood !! I had to reorder I learned what to order and what not to. I'm looking forward to try noodles & side orders next time ! I'll come back again !!

Yelp
Wonderful service from the wait staff and sat us despite coming close to closing. They were very friendly and helpful with ordering on the tablets and food was very good. We got 8 plates of sushi/handrolls/nigiri and it came out to $35. Incredibly price friendly and filling for 2 people

Yelp
The food is $3.95 per plate a typical price for a revolving Sushi bar, the quality of the Sushi is good. We waited for 45 minutes the longest ever I did for a Japanese restaurant. The ambiance is typical of a revolving Sushi bar, has a robot serving water, drinks and wasabi. The restroom are super clean and the has a Japanese Bidet. Over all impression is very good but I don't like the wait list system now and they don't have reservation or remote wait list system like the other branches. You have to sign up online by the entrance door then start waiting. If you're really hungry do not come here but if you're not try it it's a good experience. I will comeback once their online wait list system has been upgraded where you can sign up remotely by phone. As of this time they are the only branch that don't have this feature. I will definitely comeback and probably update my rate to more stars. Maybe 5 stars . And my suggestion i hope they put more salmon roe on their Ikura. They already given me two $5 rewards, and I am so thankful for that.

Yelp
This location is probably the best Kura location I've been to. We went for their soft opening and I loved how everything off the conveyor belt tasted fresh. The nigiri and rolls do have a lot of rice and sometimes it falls apart, but for mid-tier sushi, it's pretty solid! Our group had a lot of fun picking between the conveyor belt and ordering directly off the screen at the table. It's definitely a novelty experience to do with friends and that's what you're ultimately paying for. But beware - the plates do add up! Overall, would come back to do again with friends, but wouldn't personally crave the place myself due to price point + quality of the fish.
