Kura Revolving Sushi Bar - Review - Berkeley - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Kura is a chain that has landed in Berkeley, giving the Bay yet another place for plucking nigiri, temaki, and rolls off a conveyor belt. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Julia Chen

Google
Kura sushi bar located next to UC Berkeley. Parking is always an issue before 6pm. Be sure to pay for meter if you use street parking. In the bay area, you dont usually see this kind of sushi bar. Kind of interesting. For someone from Asia like me, it is not new thing...lol. Their sushi are above average. I would say 4.5/5 for quality. But quantity bit less than expected. Yea, 90% is $3.99 per plate.... Expect to spend about $30+ per person. The only backdraw is they dont have a lot of choices for sushi bar. Choices are plain and kind of boring. I hope they could have more choices, people dont mind to pay premium for some fancy sushi.

Google
Parking is a little hard to find. Only street parkings. Place: it's a chain restaurant. This place is clean and updated. Inside is clean and good customer service. FOOD: food choices are same as other locations. Before I came to this location, I thought food are the same quality across all restaurants. BUT it's not!!! I don't know why food at this location is so so so much better than other two locations I have tried. It's fresh! Some of the pictures I took is not great. But I would come again!

Google
The experience was really fun, the sushi was all right, the udon noodle soup was not that great, and the spider hand roll with soy paper was excellent, probably the best thing we got!

Denise W.

Google
Really fun conveyor belt sushi spot! The quality is a big step up from most places with it's super fresh ingredients you can actually taste. I loved seeing unique touches like the yuzu topping on the nigiri that I haven't seen elsewhere. Even the wasabi was better than usual, sharp and fresh. A great mix of fun, variety, and quality. I’ll definitely be be back.

Google
My daughter wanted to come here for lunch to try the noodles. I like the choices they have on the revolving belt. There is also a side menu to order from.

Google
Been to a couple of Kura's but this one is my favorite. The consistently friendly restaurant workers are great. Dining is easy with the app for rewards. Playful vibe for young adults with robots and prizes.

Google
It's a novelty having multiple conveyor belts delivering food and a robot delivering drinks. Fun being rewarded for returning the plates with prize balls and animation on the menu screen. The service was attentive and relatively quick. The food was okay. Not mind blowing but okay. Using the mobile phone app made ordering easy with multiple people sitting at the same table.

Google
Food is good.... When it comes around. Disappointed that this was the selection the whole time we were there. Most of the containers were empty. We had to order from the touch screen, which is fine but we could've gone elsewhere if we wanted to order from the menu.

Yelp
A great experience overall, my wife and I have been two times and really enjoy it. Fresh and good sushi. At times the trays are empty but I prefer that since it means there isn't sushi just sitting for a long time. If any roll that you want isn't coming around, you can easily place the order on the tablet and get it delivered to your table. Worth the experience We both enjoy the experience with the pinball machinez

Yelp
Since this is not a typical set up it in the US it would be helpful if patrons were asked whether or not this is their first time so that the diner knows what to expect and how to navigate the ordering process. If you want returning customers then explaining the loyalty program to newcomers would be helpful. I accidentally took the entire spaceship off the conveyer belt instead of popping it open and removing the plate. Also, it took quite a while after I was seated before I received chopsticks. The food part of this review is slightly unfair since I can't help but compare it to Japan. The food is ok but I likely will not return.

Yelp
Me and my husband met up with our friends at this Kura location. It's located in downtown Berkeley, so you do need to find street parking nearby; luckily for us, our friend is a master at parallel parking, so we had no issues finding a parking spot at all. The nice thing about this location is that it's super spacious, lots of open seating and you can put your name on the waitlist via the app. I didn't realize that this location also allows you to select less rice when ordering via the screen, which is game-changing! I always felt stuffed after only eating a few plates because of all the rice with each nigiri/roll/etc., but this allowed me to eat more of the actual raw fish with less rice LOL. We ordered multiple orders of the seared scallops w/ mayo and the wagyu nigiri - those are me and my husband's fav items. We also got some salmon nigiri and an order of takoyaki as a little snack. I will say the only complaint that I had was that the revolving plates weren't replaced as quickly as other locations and it took a while for our orders to come out. Either way, decent Kura location!

Yelp
Sunday at 3:00pm, waitlist mentioned 20-30 minutes but we were seated in a minute. Clean, modern layout with clearly labeled rotating sushi, plus the option to order on the tablet if not available/ other menu items. Not crazy that the table is so high but I guess this is the clearance above the two conveyer belts. We liked the variety and selection available, as well as the ability to clear the plates right away in a nearby shoot. We also liked that the ginger was self-serve (we like ginger). Found the animation that progresses with the plate deposit amusing and the free charm keychain every 15 plates was weirdly a minor motivator lol they know us. They also do a good job with their rewards program offering periodic discounts. Will be back!

Yelp
It was kind of fun coming to a conveyor belt sushi place and being able to choose what you wanted as the plates came by. However, the plates don't get replenished very fast, reducing the choices therefore I'm taking off some stars. It would've been nice to have more plates to choose from instead of mostly empty plates that went by. I would say the quality of the food was just ok and decent, but I've had much better sushi elsewhere. We came mostly for the conveyor belt experience. There's a cute robot that brings you your chopsticks, wasabi, and drinks. The service from the live servers was very good.

Yelp
I'm neither a stranger to nor a snob about conveyor belt sushi. I think it has its place in the sushi universe. It's just not in the same galaxy as Jiro or places with Michelin stars, and I think making such a futile comparison misses the point of these operations. Convenience. Price. Reasonable grade fish. Oh and the chance to imitate Lucy and Ethel at the chocolate factory. Speed it up, Otto! Jamie W and I had been meaning to try this location for a while. Years ago we had seen (though didn't patronize) the Kura near the Tokyo Skytree. Now there are hundreds of locations around the world. We came on a busy Saturday afternoon where we were seated next to what looked to be the later part of the lower belt because at least 75% of the plates were empty by the time they got to our table. That didn't matter much because I prefer to order the sushi myself and not leave it to chance. Those plates were delivered quickly on the top conveyor belt. We ended up sharing ten plates at $3.99 each, quite a reasonable deal considering the variety of nigiri and rolls we ate. Among the nigiri, the Garlic Ponzu Salmon (Photo 9) and the Seared Salmon (Photo 3) were our favorites. I liked the Umami Oil Hokkai Octopus Gunkan (Photo 2), but Jamie wasn't a fan. The Spicy Tuna Roll (Photo 7) and the Crunchy Roll (Photo 4) were pretty standard, but the Kura Roll held more textural interest with the seared salmon contrasting nicely with the avocado and shrimp mayo (Photo 5). The most disappointing was the cold American Wagyu, just way too chewy to savor (Photo 8). We did take a couple of plates off the bottom belt. One was the crunchy-fresh Umami Cucumber Salad (Photo 10), and the other was the Warabi Mochi dusted in kinako (Photo 6). I could tell people were avoiding it because they had no idea what it was. It just happens to be one of my favorite Japanese food cart treats. We actually had two plates of it. Speed it up, Otto! FOOD - 3 stars... kinda all over the map...a big plus for the warabi mochi AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...all about where you sit along the conveyor belt...expect a lot of overexcited kids SERVICE -3 stars...fairly minimal human contact between the conveyor belt and the robot serving our Diet Cokes TOTAL - 3 stars...pretty functional with the sushi you would expect RELATED - Exploring Berkeley? Yelp
Fun restaurant in a very popular spot. We've been here several times now as of writing this review. Probably because we really enjoy it here. The whole premise of revolving sushi is they have a conveyor belt with sushi rotating through all the seats and you grab what you want. You can even order some on a tablet and have them zip to you on a dedicated conveyor belt. They also made ordering into a game. You can return your trays in this collector and they tally the number of trays you ate for your bill. They made it a game and will give you trinket prizes to get you to your next "milestone". Its obvious what they're trying to do and I guess the number of trinkets I have at home means its working... This place isn't A-tier sushi, maybe a solid B-tier sushi. But their sushi tastes great! We really like the inari, sweet tofu skin with pockets of rice. We also like the Kura roll with thin lemon slices. The salmon skin hand rolls are a hit or miss, depending if they wrap it well. Sometimes you get an imbalance of ingredients or the salmon skins are just soggy. We usually finish it off with some udon or ramen then a dessert item. Their ice cream is a must-try! Final note, they use actual wasabi root. Great touch! Overall, fairly happy and we'll be coming back for more to satisfy our sushi craving.

Yelp
I enjoy Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, but not this location. Street parking is tough to find, service is non-existent, and the poor quality of food. Kura has a decent selection of the main fish like tuna and salmon, but the selection is quite limited compared to any other Kura Revolving Sushi Bar locations I've been to. Maybe this is because of the lower foot traffic at this location. Also, the fish seemed low quality at this location and the fish tasted bland or funky at times, definitely not fresh. I like Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, but I would likely avoid this location moving forward.

Yelp
We ended up waiting 30 minutes beyond our quoted wait time, which was already estimated at two hours. During that period, we noticed multiple parties with numbers far behind ours, including some who had just signed up, being seated ahead of us. Many of them seemed pleasantly surprised, commenting that they expected to wait much longer, yet were brought inside immediately. We had been standing in front of the restaurant the entire time, which made the situation feel even more poorly managed. When we were finally seated, the quality of the food did not justify the delay. The rice was undercooked, and the beef arrived still pink and slightly cold, even though it was seared with a blowtorch. Service was indifferent at best, and the seating system appeared inconsistent and unfair. Other revolving sushi restaurants offer much better customer service, smoother operations, and higher-quality food. Overall, I cannot recommend this location. There are many better options in San Francisco that respect both your time and your dining experience.

Yelp
Very pricey for the quality of food they serve. Compared to other Kura locations we've been to this one was definitely the worst. Some of the fish didn't taste the freshest. Parking is also hard to find as it is in downtown Berkeley area.

Yelp
Kura has always held a special place in my heart, being the best conveyor belt sushi experience I've found in the US that's comprable to those in Japan. With a variety of nigiri rolls to choose from, I always go for the salmon nigiri (seared with mayo, seared with cream cheese, ponzu, sesame oil - you can't go wrong). In addition to the sushi, the noodles and desserts are surprisingly good. The udon noodles are chewy, with a savory onion broth. Dessert-wise, the warabimochi are light and a nice complement to the nigiri. The matcha and black sesame mochi are not too sweet and an excellent balance between ice cream and rice dough. The highlight is the taiyaki dessert, a freshly fried red bean-filled waffle that's crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with vanilla ice cream, it itself is worth a visit to Kura. If you're looking for a great sushi belt experience, including winning prizes as you get through plates and being served by fun robo-waiters, Kura is always THE place to go.

Yelp
The place is really new. They got the robots to serve the water. The plates is 3.75 so be warned. Service was good. The helpers would quickly get what we needed and the conveyor was great about getting our orders. Very new. The tables are 4 seaters so good with small groups. The wait wasn't long when we went but always check the app. For wait times. I'm sure it crazy on Friday. Looking at everybody's bad review and this isn't a place where you get the best sushi. This isn't for you. It's a fast and fun place. If you are looking for superior quality and omakase this place isn't for you. Let the people who want to have fun sit. The sushi snobs need to read the room.

Yelp
Had to try this new sushi place. The service was ok. The food was ok. Pricy for the little food you get. The vegetable or two pieces of shrimp tempura was $9 to 10 dollars and you got 2 little mini pieces that were greasy and not worth getting... it was a different experience having to order on the screen and the food shooting down to your table above the sushi boat that's making its way around to choose from. And a robot brings your drinks. When ordering over 15 items you get a prize that dropped from a ball machine above the screen.. it was for sure a different experience more for kids and younger customers.

Yelp
3/5 stars Kura is a well known revolving sushi bar that just opened its location up in Berkeley. My husband I checked in on the kiosk and luckily since it's located in downtown berkeley, we did end up going to the bookstore for 15 minutes to waste time. When we arrived back, we got a text message saying to check in to let the restaurant know that we were here. I did notice that we got seated before other people that were waiting longer than us so I feel like the queue for this place is having some problems? Please note these were people with the same amount of people in the party as us. I would say that the quality of sushi is decent. There were some plates on on the conveyer belt where it felt that the fish was cut super thin and wasn't worth the amount. During the time I was here, all the dishes were $3.75/plate so I have a feeling as they get their feet more on the ground, the price of the dishes will reflect like the other stores. I will mention that my husband did order the taiyaki and when it came it wasn't fully cooked. The squid was definitely still frozen! Other than that, it was an okay experience.

Yelp
I stopped by during opening day at 5:00 p.m. and the wait was around 30 minutes for a party of 6. They haven't enabled remote waitlist yet so you'll have to physically sign up on the iPad waitlist that's in front of the door. Fortunately, the system is setup to text you when your table is almost ready, so this gives you plenty of time to wander around and explore downtown. Once they're ready for you they'll call your name out loud at the door so be ready with your whole party or else you won't get seated. The wait time estimate was pretty spot on. If you've been to Kura's other locations before, the experience here is identical. Every table has access to the conveyor belt where you can push a button to open up the capsule and remove the plate when your preferred sushi comes by. After you're done consuming your plate of sushi, you can deposit your plates into a collector at the end of the table. The total amounts of plates your table has consumed will then be updated on the iPad screen. For every 15 plates that you consume, a toy capsule will be dispensed randomly. If you find you can't finish 15 plates but still want a small toy (random sushi keychain at the time), you can also order one of the toys directly from the iPad for the price of a single plate of sushi. In terms of amenities, soy sauce is available at the table as well as pickled ginger. If you want wasabi, you'll need to request it from your server. Fish quality is generally pretty good. The fish to rice ratio is also quite nice. The only dish that our party had a serious issue with was the uni. We ordered eight separate plates of uni and each one was excessively bitter: not a pleasant bite, and overall, a costly mistake. Another dish I'd recommend avoiding is the watermelon. It's priced the same as fish and included is a pretty sad, small serving of out-of-season watermelon pieces. Another more minor criticism is it feels like the rice could be packed a little tighter for some of the nigiri pieces. Overall, I'm impressed by how quickly the food is coming out on the conveyor belt. Definitely not seeing items stick around for long on the conveyor. Don't forget there's an iPad overhead the conveyor as well where you can order specific items you may not see on the belt. I would recommend stopping by during the soft opening to take advantage of their premium sushi plates at $3.95 per plate. Overall great experience for a soft opening. The staff was friendly and very attentive to our table throughout our meal and even solicited our candid feedback of our meal experience at the end.

Yelp
I've been to other Kura locations and had solid experiences, but sadly felt like there's something lacking at this Berkeley location. When we walked in it felt new and clean, which gave me high hopes. The conveyor belt plates were nearly empty for a decent amount of time. We ordered some items through the iPad, but the miso soup was cold which was disappointing. The garlic ponzu salmon and seared beef nigiri were probably the better items. However the bill ended up being a bit pricey at the end. I'd rather stop by a different Kura if I ever want it again.
google avatar

Edison H.

Yelp
Conveyor sushi is really just a gimmick here. The quality of food, for the most part, fell short. The uni had a funky flavor and a strange bouncy texture. The sweet shrimp was not buttery at all. One of them even still have some of its guts attached. The negitoro didn't taste like fish at all and I ate something that was just pure mush. The rice was consistent in shape, but they didn't stick with the fish. The Kumamoto wagyu was super dried. They did have a couple of decent options though. We won the taiyaki keychain from the gacha (you get one after ordering enough). One thing I do want to point out is this is a great spot for small groups. They serve a limited selection of alcohol. The staff are friendly people. Nothing remotely bad about my interactions and the ones I've seen.
google avatar

Elaine C.

Yelp
You're paying for the experience. This is a great place to take your girlfriend if she's mad at you or needs cheering up. Standouts: spicy tuna crunchy roll, salmon golden crunchy roll, spider roll, taiyaki ice cream We got three huge spider rolls (2 pc) and two plates of the salmon golden crunchy roll (4 pc). I enjoyed the rolls more than the nigiri in general, which tells me that the variety and being able to choose from what's in front of you, not the quality of fish, is the star here. The only thing issue I had was the fishiness of the yuzu jalapeño sweet shrimp. The rice in the nigiri and rolls could have been packed a little tighter--I barely had three seconds to lift my sushi from plate to mouth. The amount of wasabi given to us was almost negligible, and we had to ask our waiter for more. Otherwise, presentation and quality of food were pretty good. 45 minute wait was worth it.

Yelp
Kura is always a fun experience with the conveyor belt! We went with our baby and they were quite accommodating with high chair and there are plenty of kids around. The food is good but not top tier sushi - but that's not really why you would come here. It's all about the conveyor belt fun. It was weird, the app to get on the waitlist unfortunately didn't work at all. Luckily we went a bit earlier and school is out!
google avatar

Anndora L.

Yelp
It was okay. I went for the robot, not the food. Sushi & sashimi are decent. Sliced very thin. Definitely not the best. Service is also okay. I mean if you want sushi on a budget, I'd come here. I guess I completely forgot the pics! Sorry.
google avatar

Echo L.

Yelp
You come here for the revolving fun! I know there's millions of good sushi places in the Bay Area, but really, I'm not coming here to expect top notch sushi, but rather the fun experience chatting, watch the sushi rotating on the belt, open the "egg" to see what's the gift inside. The revolving belt is always full of-- they replenish them fast! With great variety of things you can take. For things that are better enjoy warm (like eel) make sure to order directly from the screen. You got to eat a little bit of everything. My favorite is the roasted eel with cream cheese. Plus, the Taiyaki in ice cream is so good, warm and crispy.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Great place to take kids or any sushi fans. Your drinks are delivered by robots. Food items not on the regular circulation of items are announced with a beep and then fly to your table on an express conveyor belt. Revolving sushi places are always fun. We had not been to a Kura in about six years and we didn't remember the food quality being amazing. However the rice was super delicious and the sushi very fresh. Restaurant was clean. Bathrooms have heated toilets so the bidets. Staff were friendly. And you get a toy for every 15 plates you clean.

Yelp
A fun and pretty good sushi experience. My boyfriend and I first came here when this location opened at the beginning of 2025. I have had revolving sushi before so was excited to see this come to Berkeley. The wait was very long. We joined the waitlist at 6:30 pm on a Friday and finally got to sit at 8. So be warned, it will probably take a while! The interior is nice. You can either sit in a booth which is more private, or opt for bar style seating which is side by side. We got a booth. The way this works is a train of sushi is constantly making its way around the restaurant holding a variety of items. The conveyor belt has the names of the items that come by, which is nice. There is then a second conveyor belt set above the constantly moving one. This is where you get sushi that you order from the tablet at your table. You pay per plate, and if you order a certain amount of plates you win a prize! My favorite items were the salmon skin handrail, yuzu tuna nigiri, and spicy tuna dishes. I love tuna and the quality was pretty good! The flavors they make are also nice and complimentary. Another unexacting star of the meal was actually our dessert; TAIYAKI! I love taiyaki and I really love red bean. It was so good and warm! Yum! My boyfriend never had it before and it quickly became a favorite of his. Overall, if you are looking for a fun eating experience, totally check this set out! You basically make your own experience, so there isn't much to lose.

Yelp
Came on a Wednesday night and had barely any wait for a table. Which didn't matter because there was barely any sushi coming: just a sad parade of empty dishes. We managed to grab two dishes before finally giving up on the wait of ~20 minutes for the kitchen to get its act together. Who knows, maybe there was a vacuum cleaner of an eater sitting upstream of us, sucking up all the nigiri before it came to us. Checked out for a grand total of $8 with no tip, and enjoyed some Marugame instead.

Yelp
TLDR; it's fun and tasty! Served several hits of dopamine, which was needed after a long week. My partner has been talking about wanting to try conveyor belt sushi for some time. I was less than enthused, but as soon as I saw there was a spot in Berkeley, I knew where to take them on a date. We arrived Saturday night, round 7pm, as a party of two. We saw a big group waiting outside, so I braced myself for a 40-60 min wait. We were greeted at the door and added our names to the tablet sign-in. We were quoted a 40 min wait, but a staff person walked by saying the wait would likely be less, which was music to my ears. We were shown the waiting area, past some tables and a couple robot waiters. We waited maybe 5 minutes. It was amazing. We sat on the left side of the restaurant, and it was great. We enjoyed about 17 plates (had to get to 15 to see what would happen, lol) and really enjoyed the experience. We committed to the experience while managing our expectations around the sushi. Is the best sushi? No. Is it tasty, yes. We also got a few non-sushi items, like the takoyaki and the warabimochi. For two people and tip, we spent about $90, which is a nice treat. We couldn't do the full experience often, AND I am sure we will be back at some point. I think this would be a fun place to take a kiddo, but I caveat that with saying I don't have kiddos.
google avatar

Darlene E.

Yelp
I eat here pretty often as I work in Berkeley sometimes. It's so clean and the sushi is really good. I haven't had a piece of fish with any tendon in it, which I hate. I can eat here, have a rest, and be done in 15-20 minutes. It's faster than fast food. The host and servers are always friendly. I like when they call out to the chefs before seating us. It's cute! I do wish they would serve you wasabi and water as they seat you. The bathrooms are super clean and I love the Japanese bidets. Hee hee.
google avatar

Jenn L.

Yelp
It's pretty sad to see all the empty and open plates on rail. Once ordering from iPad, it takes more than 20 mins to have a plate of eel sushi. It's pretty sad to see Kura in this location is going to downhill. Although it's bigger and more seatings in this location, it's the most inefficient one in Bay Area. Other things are more attractive which is the best AC system during summer and clean bathroom in this area.
google avatar

Alisa G.

Yelp
This is as much about the food as it is the experience. Sure, you might search for parking for 15 minutes like I did, but then you are greeted by kind, friendly, and efficient staff. There were only two misses out of 15 plates, so odds of very good sushi are high. Consideration yourself emersed inside a video game and enjoy the experience

Yelp
This branch is not too shabby! I love Kura and have been to multiple locations. One thing is for sure, the fish quality is still awesome across all the branches. Food was great and service is fast, ambiance was fine, all as per usual. This location had some shabby reviews so I was curious to see if they were true, but our experience seemed to have been pretty good! The only downside is that the hot food items are okay. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and it was SOOO watered down. No flavor. Everything else was great.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
The sushi is pretty decent and the wasabi is way better than any other sushi joint around. The conveyor belt is so fun with the sushi being just rolled out, but the wait time is funny because the ones I wanted were always taken. Luckily, you can order but I'm patience I can wait and digest.
google avatar

Monika T.

Yelp
I thought the food was pretty good, and I fully enjoyed it. Got on waitlist and was seated upon arrival. It was more frustrating looking for parking then the need to stand in line. I love the handrolls being 3.95. I will be back
google avatar

Viki N.

Yelp
This was my first experience at a Kura restaurant and it happens to be a newly opened location too so I figured it should be good. Well I was completely wrong. I went for many of the premium options like uni, kumamoto wagyu, scallop, and they all either tasted funky or bland and/or had strange texture. Why was the uni bouncy?? And the negi toro was just flavorless mush. This is really just a fun gimmick for the conveyer belt sushi experience, but I'm definitely not going to return to another Kura.

Yelp

Yelp
This place is a gimmick. Kura is probably worth a one time visit just to see the show, but the sushi/fish is average. It may seem like a deal at first for $3.99 otherwise known as $4 for two pieces of nigiri sushi, but the slices of fish on the nigiri and even if you order the sashimi are super thin slices. You're getting mostly rice with the nigiri. And for some reason, they don't give you ginger. I paid more at this place for average thin slices of fish than I do at my regular go to sushi places. I've seen it once, and that's enough for me.

Yelp
I had such a fun experience at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Berkeley! The whole setup is super unique there's a bar where plates of sushi pass by on a conveyor belt, and you can just grab what looks good. It felt like a game and a meal all in one. I also loved how the food I ordered came out on a separate belt and stopped right in front of me so cool! And then a little robot came by to deliver our drinks, which totally made my day. On top of all that, the sushi rolls were fresh and delicious. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

Yelp
Kura is a chain and I've been to a few, it's not the best sushi ever but it's very well priced and pretty good quality. I come here when I'm craving sushi but don't want to spend a ton!

Yelp
Came for our 3rd time on a Friday at 6pm. We're seated in about 3 minutes at a nice booth in the corner. The food was fresh, beautiful, and delicious. Our 10 yr old really loves the Philadelphia roll and Taiyaki ice cream dessert. My favorites are the Caterpillar roll and the Golden crunchy roll. The watermelon cubes were a lovely refreshing bite too! It's so fun to try new things without much of a commitment. Bill was about $100 for two of us but it was worth it!!

Yelp
It's a nice experience! My friends and I came by on a Sunday for a belated birthday lunch when it first opened. We all found street parking fairly close by ~2-3 blocks away. There was a line, but luckily their waitlist gives you the option to put your name and phone number down so that you can walk around while you wait if you want. You'll get a text to check in with the host when it's almost your turn. This is a chain restaurant with a few other Bay Area locations; my friend says this spot tastes better than the location in Pleasanton! We all thought it was ok, you are mainly paying for the novelty of the revolving sushi bar. We barely took anything off the rotating bar since it was easier (probably faster too) to order from the tablet. Once you get a certain amount of plates you will get a gachapon (each table has one)! The place was clean, staff is nice, and ordering food was fast and easy.

Yelp
I love visiting any of Kyra Revolving Sushi. I just moved to Berkeley from SoCal and I used to frequently visit the one in Sherman Oaks. The food and very never disappoint. Even better that it's just a couple miles from home.

Yelp
The restaurant's communication system seems disorganized. Their website advertises a $5 coupon for newsletter sign-ups; When I asked about why I never received the coupon, a staff member vaguely mentioned that the deal is only valid for "recurring customers." This policy isn't clearly stated anywhere, and they should definitely add an asterisk or some other clarification to avoid misleading customers. The service was good. The food, however, was pretty inconsistent. The hokkaido scallop was fresh, but the garlic ponzu salmon was awful and gave me a migraine. The rice should've been packed tighter too because it kept falling apart

Yelp
Overall a positive outcome for both husband and I. It was different and we enjoyed the experience. Was the sushi great , it was edible some better than others . Our place in Concord was better in taste and flavor wise . However in terms of selection this place offered more choices . We enjoyed the ambiance, the robot service was fun and we cleared 15 plates and received a reward . This is a nice edition to the city of Berkeley and there are a lot of Asian cuisine within the community due influx of international students studying and living there for couple of years until they graduate.

Yelp
Good sushi, fun restaurant, like the other locations but not quite as big. The staff needs to make sure the restaurant is in order.

Yelp
Good food Good service Decent ambiance The dessert my kiddos wanted to try was not available when I went there - so that males me give one star less - but other than that this place is nice.

Yelp
This location is honestly the best kura I've been to. The quality of the fish is just right. I loved the octopus, scallops and the salmon the most. The tantanmen was delicious and had an egg with perfectly salty yolk. The noodles were the perfect consistency, I recommend it. Clean facility.

Yelp
You have to sign up on the tablet outside, then you get a text confirmation. Note the time range listed for your wait. Wander around Half-price Books until 15 minutes before the earlier time in the range given, then walk back. Your name should be up soon. I heard that you will get a text when it is your turn and you can text back and say you are on your way but I haven't tested that myself. Toilets are fancy! The place is clean and staff are kind, patient, and attentive. The whole endeavor is pretty fast since you don't really have to wait too long for anything. I think kids would like this place. This sushi is $3.95 a plate. I was sure there would be more rice in the dishes to offset costs but the proportions weren't bad at all. It is exactly what you would expect and exactly worth the price so don't be silly and unreasonable in your reviews. I think it is a good deal.

Yelp
This place was so much fun! I'm from a smaller city and have only seen these places on YouTube and food network so I was so excited when I found this place! The staff was super helpful and friendly and the whole experience was awesome! I will definitely be back here!

Yelp
Very pleasant and fun experience. The waiters on wheels are cute. The best sushi was the salmon nigiri and the unagi one. The weakest dish was the vegetable tempura; it was okay for $3.95 Cold sake was quite good and a good deal at $5. I will definitely go back.
