Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

This is the best place I’ve ever been! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys delicious food and friendly service.

There is a 1-2hr but ZERO wait if you book a reservation on their website, It's a revolving sushi and direct order bar. You can order any of the revolving plates directly off of the tableside tablet. Make sure to download their app to earn points on your 1st visit because I can almost guarantee you'll be back.

would absolutely recommend for those who like sushi. i mean come on, it’s sushi on a conveyer belt and it counts your plates and you put them in a little place like wow. this is cool. lovely and quick service, our waiter made sure we were taken care of, clean bathrooms, and i also enjoyed the x amount of plates gives you a toy gimmick. did get somewhat cold in there toward the end but hey it happens

Our waitress Darnie was awesome. She felt like a friend you have known forever. She was helpful, quick and very attentive. The sushi was pretty good and it was fun to just order what you wanted on the menu screen. Nice and quick if you don't have a long lunch break. Once you order it was made and delivered on the top belt, then the bottom belt had sushi that is freshly made already so you just grab what you want. Nice to see it first instead of just a menu description. Next the plates when you're done, go in a slot at the table and it adds up your cost as you go. The whole thing was fun and tasty. Thank you Darnie for the good experience. Watch out for those robot waiters they might run ya over. 😄

This is the first time I revisit this place since pandemic. Food near still taste good as before. Using computer to order food is much more convenient. There's a robot bring water to the table. I think it's cool. Servers are very nice and polite. Noticed price has gone up since my last visit, 2 years ago. But I still enjoy the food. They're more variety of dishes added to the menu. I would definitely go back again in near future.

Fun novelty sushi experience! Full points for how fun the experience is, but half points on how the food tasted overall. The rice often had subpar texture. First picture shows the best plate I had, the creamy yolk and salmon was delicious. Still a fun place to eat with friends, just be prepared for pretty long waits to be seated around dinner time.

It was a taste I didn't want to experience again. Can somebody fix the squeaking front door? It's crazy that salmon roe and green tea are the same price.

I'm a regular at Kura Sushi, and it never disappoints. The sushi is always delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming and lively. The service from Enni, Michelle, and Vic is consistently great and makes every visit even better. I recommend the seared salmon sushi and the seared eel!

We enjoy Kura Sushi as a family. Good variety of sushi and of course the toy balls are fun. We usually order from the kiosk so we get exactly what we want Staff is efficient and friendly.

always a go to place for sushi! the sushi sizes are smaller than sushi rev, but this place is more for the experience. they always have different themes and it was kirby this time! ‼u can win a prize after 15 plates. ‼i really recommend grabbing the: garlic slapjack tuna or honestly anything that says garlic. trust me it's so good. the service and vibes are great! :)

I don't usually write reviews, but this place deserves one. This is my family's go to sushi spot. We love the variety of sushi options plus their specialty items. All the staff here are very friendly and attentive, but Victor took care of us and provided exceptional service! Highly recommended going here.

One of the last restaurants open in the area on a late night. Came here 01/15/26 for the Kirby x Kura promotion, but was disappointed to find out that all special edition merch had been sold out by day 2 of the promotion. Regardless, my friend and I had a good time ordering on the tablet and marveling in all the adorable Kirby-themed decor in the restaurant. The wait staff was prompt and friendly and the food came out fresh. We left with a reasonably priced bill and satisfied tummies. :)

Good quality was sub par. would not take my kids again because I wasn't super confident the fish was fresh..... The service was not really there. They greeted. I said five waters. It never came. I waived the server down after 30 minutes because we were all getting so thirsty and he still didn't bring it even after that time. Then I had to ask for another server again after another ten minutes. He had the robot bring it but now only four waters when we had five people at the table. The desert was too fried almost burned vs golden. Not worth it at all.

I still remember when I first went to Kura over at Brea Mall many years ago. Now that I'm in Costa Mesa, I'm glad there's still one close to me in Irvine. Crazy how much inflation has hit this place ! Definitely not as cheap as it use to be sadly. Quality has remained the same, doesn't blow me out of the water, but I still definitely have my favorites that I come back to here. I love that they have an option to go easy on the rice when you order. Sometimes you don't want all those carbs! The main reason why I find myself returning is the collabs they always do and the fun gachapon you get if you finish 15 plates. Unfortunately for me, I typically go to Kura solo so never consume 15 plates lmao but I think they have an option to buy the gachapon separately so that's nice! A lot of the service is automated and conducted via the screen or even on your phone so I don't have much of a comment on that. It's not my fave sushi place but I def enjoy coming here on solo dates or for after work lunch.

I love this Kura Sushi location! I've been here a few times and always enjoy it. Everyone who works at Kura is super sweet, welcoming, and helpful. The sushi is always yummy and they have yummy sake. The restrooms are clean and have lots of extra toilet paper. Parking is good; sometimes you may need to park farther if it's a weekend, but there are a lot of spaces nearby :) The most recent time we went they had cute Kirby decorations which was fun!

My husband and I took his younger sister to dinner here on a Saturday night, and it was so busy! We had a relatively long wait time - it was about an hour long but we spent time around the plaza until our table was ready. Once we sat down, it didn't take long for us to grab some sushi rolls. Our favorites were the salmon toro, seared hokkai octopus, and seared scallop with Japanese mayo. I wouldn't recommend their wagyu or beef rolls, especially when their fish is so fresh and delicious! Despite how busy it was, it wasn't to noisy and we never felt rushed while eating. It's a casual restaurant and is a nice place to catch up with friends and family. I always felt like I was in a nice bubble with my family whenever I go to Kura Sushi.

Atrocious parking when busy. Very sad they took the donut ice cream dessert off their menu as it was my favorite. Sushi was okay, portions are smaller.

Went to Kura for a quick bite. Rotating belt is fun, especially for kids, as it definitely makes you hungry as soon as you sit down. I prefer using the machine and having food sent on top belt if you are short on time. Food comes out fresh and quick. Staff were very kind they checked on us and refilled water. If you order 15 plates you get a mystery toy ball as a surprise. My kids like dropping the plates in what they call the plate eater. They like seeing anime all over the walls. Current theme is "One Piece".

This is a nice quick solo lunch spot to visit during the weekday. I was lucky to snag a close parking spot and had very minimal wait to get seated. The fish was fresh and the rice /fish ratio was just right. I got to chow down all my favorites offered especially due to where I sat. The sweet scallops, the eels, and seared nigiri sushis hit the spot. The only gripe I have perhaps is the smaller store footprint compared to other locations and the noise level. I wish I had brought my headphones with me because it's no fun listening to someone loudly venting about their bad day caused by their own children. I got so spoiled by the other Kura locations with much easier parking situation and calmer atmosphere. I heard in rumors that there will be a few more locations of Kura opening in upcoming months. So hopefully, there's even less of a reason for me to ever step foot into this chaotic energy shopping center just to have my quick sushi fix.

For my first time trying the revolving sushi it was a lot of fun! You truly do not know how much you're consuming and paying for. I would pay attention to how many plates you've loaded into the return a lot. But also loved trying it all and not having to wait because it was right there! Had cheesecake for dessert and some mini plum wines.

Kura is always a fun time! We loved the one in Tokyo so I was so happy to discover one so close by to us here. They currently have a Kirby collab which is adorable! The fish was fresh and the kids had a great time choosing the dishes they wanted on the conveyor belt, depositing the dishes and watching it stack so they get a gachapon toy. That idea is honestly genius lol. Right now their toys are all Kirby themed, and I believe you get one with every 15 plates, and if you spend $85 and is a member of Kura Sushi, you get a free Kirby cup set! The food is fresh and yummy for "fast food" Japanese and the kids will love it here! They also have plenty of hot foods like Udon, ramen, fries, fish etc. if you don't eat raw fish.

This is always a solid spot! I love that they are pretty affordable and pretty consistent as well. You can order from the touch screen or grab items from the conveyor belt, and everything I've tried has always been very fresh! Service is pretty quick and easy. Definitely one of my go-to stops when I want a quick bite of sushi. Parking here is always rough though, so be prepared to wait!

Quick and easy sushi, it's fast food essentially and hits the spot. The service is friendly and quick, and they have robots to deliver drinks. The place is small but sits quite a few groups, the wait can be long, but if you have the app you can check in ahead of time. Ordering from the menu always helps when waiting for things to come around. I particularly enjoy getting a surprise for every 15 plates, which are kept tracked of by placing your empties in the dish slot.

We found the food to be ok but not the freshest using the revolving sushi belt though it was convenient to just grab something. Sometimes many of the slots were empty or didn't look very appealing. When we arrived we stood there for about 10 minutes before we were greeted or made to feel welcome. The vibe was very much on the level of a third rate fast food restaurant. For the price and selection there are many better choices in the OC.

Came in on Tuesday evening and i struggle a bit to find parking but finally got one , first thing you need to do is sign in on the tablet they have outside and our wait time was about 15 minutes it was quick now this was my first time ever trying from a revolving sushi bar , i was amazed , they have a robot who delivers the drinks , the variety on the sushi is perfect overall i got 15 items and two appetizers , everything we had tasted fresh and good , will definitely come back , they have a great variety to choose from , ambiance was good not too loud in there .

Kura is still around and doing quite well. There are things to love about this place: You can eat right away. There are lots of choices of hand rolls. The hand rolls are the best way to get full. The spider hand rolls was the best. It's fun. The place is still not very clean. It smells. There is always a wait. The sushi itself is okay, not generous at all. The price has gone up from 2 - 3 dollars to $3.99 a plate. You can spend a lot of money fast. I would go if invited, if not, I would go somewhere else cleaner and with more generous portions.

The last time I went to Kura, was when I was in Japan, and both experiences has been kind of similar. We came in as a party of 2 on a Sunday afternoon, and put our name downs on their electronic waitlist. This place offers booth seating and bar seating, so we opted for the faster option, which as the bar. We waited about 10 minutes and were seated. Kura gives you the option to grab food from the conveyor belt, or order from the online screen. Waters needed to be ordered from the screen, and a robot brings it out to you. Sushi here is average, and each plate ranges from about $4-6. Service here was mediocre at best. All of the servers have a dead and unfriendly look on their faces. I also wished someone had told us to order from only one screen to receive one tab when sitting at the bar, because we ended up with two tabs and had to pay twice. We live nearby so we didn't have to worry about the parking situation, but the lot and structure here definitely can't accommodate all the businesses. Overall, this is a decent spot to get sushi, especially if you're craving it and you live nearby. It's a fun experience to get to wait and grab sushi from the belt, although keep in mind the belt isn't always stocked, so you'll probably have to select the items from the screen.

I visited on a Wednesday around 9 PM and was seated immediately. They had both table and counter seating, but since we were just 2 people we chose the counter. We were pretty hungry, so it was nice not having to wait for our food because of the revolving bar, but not sure if I'd pick this place for a sushi night otherwise. Each plate is about $3.50 and there's a screen at each seat where you can order dishes directly if you don't want to just pick up what's on the revolving bar. Since we got there so late, more than half the revolving bar was empty so we couldn't try many of the rolls. They had a few beef nigiris which I was excited to try, but they were all pretty disappointing.

Been coming here for years! Love the crab handrolls. Always get 3 of these for myself. Also love the nigiris with the yuzu drizzled on top. Sometimes there's some seasonal specials which I always try to take advantage of like sea bream or wagyu. Price is now $3.90 but still fair for the premium items. Will be continuing to return for years to come :)

My first experience with revolving sushi! It was great. The food was delectable. We were greeted and sat when we got there. The place was clean considering it was raining cats and dogs outside. We got there 30 minutes after they opened. We stayed so long and ate so much that on our left side neighbors were different 3 times and on our right side neighbors were 3 different ones too. The chicken karaage was delicious and anything salmon was perfect. All their sushi was nice and fresh. Definitely gonna come back. As we left there was a long line outside considering that it was still raining.

Came here at about 12 on a Saturday. Definitely a busy plaza to park in because there are so many yummy places to eat at. The staff is super friendly. Easy to check in. I love the robots that bring the drinks over to each table. It's about 3.99 a plate of sushi. I really enjoyed their udon seafood soup as well. Great budget option for sushi :) I only had cooked rolls because I'm pregnant, but my husband and toddler enjoyed many of the raw rolls. Fun place, clean, and got food pretty quick since it is conveyor belt sushi. Even the items we had to preorder came relatively fast.

I went to Kura Sushi for dinner with some friends, and overall, we had a great time! I definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. We didn't, and even though the estimated wait time was about 10 minutes, it ended up being a bit longer. Thankfully, the servers were attentive and seated us as soon as there was an opening. One thing I really liked was how easy it was to order directly from the screen. No long waits between orders like some other revolving sushi places. The food came out fresh and quick! They have a wide variety of options whether you like raw fish, cooked fish, chicken, fried items or even ramen. And of course, the best part...the toy reward system! For every 15 plates you finish, you get a fun little prize, which definitely motivated us to keep eating. Let's just say I was very stuffed by the end of the night.

Came here on Christmas after searching for restaurants open. Thankfully we came across Kura in Irvine. One of my favorites was the Yuzu Jalapeno Sweet Shrimp. Overall, the service was excellent and the value for the food and ambiance were great. Definitely would come here again.

I love coming to Kura , it's my daughter favorite restaurant. Employee Enni always makes our time amazing she is so helpful when request items her hospitality definitely is TOP tier and one of the main reason why I keep coming back to this location!!! The entire team is amazing always so helpful and great with kids so patient and kind and go beyond to make sure my child is completely satisfied while dinning in!

Kura has become my gold standard when it comes to conveyor belt sushi. The quality is consistent. I mean it's not omakase high-grade, but it's also not your local Ralph's sushi corner. The dining experience is fun and fulfilling here. I like that the staff is a little more hands-off and you can use their technology to customize the way you are waited on. The gashapon gimmick is enjoyable and the constantly revolving "prizes" make the repeatability a non-issue. The restaurant itself is well-maintained and clean, even when busy. There are no foul smells and they keep the restaurant pretty cold. To the point where I sometimes keep my jacket on while eating, but I think this is a GOOD thing. Especially when you've got raw fish making its way through the restaurant on a belt. I have never had any issues with staff after a good dozen visits. The line can be long, but the system makes it pretty organized. The parking can suck pretty bad at this location, so be prepared for that on busy nights. The availability of items are sometimes a little inconsistent, which is the reason for the missing fifth star. It's not terrible, but it's annoying to wait for a table to find out that they're out of something you were looking forward to. And after happening more than three times, I don't believe it to be a fluke, but a pattern.

Forgot that I wrote a review a couple of years ago.... as I remember, the service was good, ambiance of course very entertaining as the fresh fare glides by for you to enjoy (and potentially grab) but we both noticed that the quality of the food has improved BIG time. Spicy components help a lot to enhance the flavors, and those sesame balls are the best possible dessert as a combo. We are hooked. Oh yes! Forgot to mention the generous amount of pickled ginger and Wasabi at the tables. No need to keep asking for more!

My experience was a 10/10. The food was delicious, fresh, and well presented. The servers were very attentive that made my experience even better. I can definitely see why this specific location is so popular it was busy,but everything still ran smoothly. My favorite orders were the Seared Salmon with Japanese Mayo, Seared Scallop with Japanese Mayo, and the Seared Beef with Yakiniku Sauce. Each one was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Overall, the atmosphere was welcoming, the service was great, and the food did not disappoint. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi or wants to try something new.

Sigh. The novelty of all the revolving sushi is so fun but I don't think the quality is there. It is also pricey if you are coming in starving.. better to go to an actual sushi place and pay a bit more money. The sushi is kind of warm for some reason so I don't know how fresh it is. Each plate is about $5 which comes with 2-3 pieces depending on which one you grab. There's lots of rice for each roll so I suppose you can get full quickly. This lot shares parking spots with a bunch of other restaurants nearby so it can be super packed and difficult to find a spot. I highly recommend going on Yelp to get on the waitlist 20-25 mins before getting here because the wait time is pretty long. Definitely a fun place for kids to pick and choose the sushi plates and then win some toys based on how many plates you eat but not a huge fan myself unless i just want something fun. I think this place can be a bit cleaner too.. there were so many crumbs leftover on my seat, I had to wipe it myself.

My first time at a revolving sushi bar, the biggest thing I can tell you is to RESERVE. There's not a lot of these types of restaurants around and it gets packed and busy! Worth it?? Yes 100%, the concept is so fun and it keeps things coming, in my opinion if you want more fresh sushi just order instead of grabbing from the trays, yet everything tasted great and honestly for a good price all together. But I would recommend to experience it all. I love how the inside of the spot looks with all the conveyer belts reaching to each table, definitely a fun experience to try!

It's like my friend David says, you don't come here for the sushi, you come here for the experience. The sushi itself isn't the freshest but you come here for the robot that brings your drinks and the revolving sushi bar....an atypical experience. Overall, I would come back. You should know that you do have to make a reservation. After you sign in when you arrive, you have to wait outside until they call your number. Also, you can sign up for coupons. They apparently also offer points. The grand total was $120 for a party of 4.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Convoy! It's a fun way to eat sushi! It's $3.85 to $4.45 each plate! My favorite is their Tuna bluefin Toro! Delicious!! FYI: they are always busy but it's worth the wait!

Honestly, I wanted to love this place. We will start with the pros: great concept. Love the sushi coming around on the belt so you can grab what you like. Place the plates into the little hole so that they can calculate your bill, there's a screen to older other things such as ramen which was tasty but in a smaller bowl. Good service. They kept coming to check on us. Pricing is very reasonable as well on each dish. Con: the food was not fresh. The worse thing is going to get sushi and your sushi doesn't taste fresh'! They also have meat on sushi rice but that also isn't real sushi. Long wait. Probably waited over an hour.

Revolving sushi is always a fun time, and this spot definitely delivered on the vibe. My girlfriend and I went shortly after opening and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, which was nice. The sushi itself was decent--nothing mind-blowing or particularly unique, but still tasty enough to keep grabbing plates off the belt. You're definitely going for the experience more than the quality. That said, be warned: the plates add up fast. We ended up eating 17 plates between the two of us, and the total came out to $66. So it's not exactly the best bang for your buck, but if you're in the mood for something casual and fun, it's a solid choice. Would I go back? Sure--especially for the novelty and a light meal. Just maybe not when I'm trying to be budget-conscious.

My children have been wanting to visit a revolving sushi bar restaurant, so when we were visiting Orange County and saw that Kura Revolving Sushi Bar was nearby, we made it a point to visit. They were SO excited, and we all had a great time. First of all, you need to check in at the kiosk outside of Kura. There isn't very much space to wait inside, so the check-in kiosk is outside, and most likely, if there are other people waiting, you'll have to wait outside. We visited around 4:30 p.m., though, and it wasn't crowded at all, so we waited maybe two minutes. Once we were seated, they asked if it was our first time visiting (it was). So they explained the procedure to us. You can grab the plates off of the conveyer belt -- make sure to pinch the plate and pull straight out -- or you can order from the menu and have it delivered. We did both, but my children enjoyed just plucking dishes from the conveyer belt as they presented themselves in front of us. We got so many plates. At each table, there's a little depository for plates. You just put them into a chute and the chute whisks them away. If you deposit 15 plates, you get a prize. This probably doesn't make any sense until you do it yourself. I think my kids heard that they get a prize after 15 plates and wanted to order and eat lots of plates. Which was OK with me, actually, because my children are sometimes picky eaters, so to see them devour sushi and edamame and pickled watermelon just to get a prize made me very happy. The experience and spectacle was worth the visit. But honestly, even if I were dining by myself, the quality and variety of the sushi would have impressed me. I really enjoyed my meal. This is a great place to get sushi, and it's especially a great place to get sushi with young people, because it's fun!

The service is great and fast. The food is good, some rolls are better than others. I love the conveyor belt sushi it is so fun and so quick. I definitely think everyone should give this a try.

I came here on a Thursday evening with two other friends in August - we had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated, which I expected given this place's popularity. Once seated, we were promptly served the drinks we ordered and were able to easily grab and eat the available sushi. I am a big fan of salmon and eel dishes and found these to be easily obtained. Overall not the most amazing quality sushi and a bit pricy for its quality, but it gets the job done. The vibe was pretty fun with the animations that pop up with the number of plates you return, so be sure to come with other people if you can!

Kura Sushi is my go to place for a fun dining experience. I get to eat small bites and enjoy a variety of some favourite Japanese food. Especially fun is waiting to see what's coming up next on the revolving bar. I always end up eating different things each time I go. Thiis would not be a five star review if not for their very professional and friendly staff - SHOUTOUT to Enni, Bob and Michelle (Attention Management: these guys are the best!). It's conveyor belt sushi or you can order from the digital tablet menu directly at your seat just like the Kura locations I've been to in Japan. You pay per plate. The menu leans more towards American-style sushi. But they have some really unique sushi dishes available and some limited-time items. You also get a chance for a little gachapon capsule prize every 5 plates. It's a fun experience. Unlike Japan though every plate is about the same price, so there aren't really any budget options. I feel like this impacts the experience because part of the fun is eating many different plates and eating until you are full. So, I would recommend looking through the menu first. Some items are a better value than others. Overall though everything was pretty good and tasty. Service was friendly and tables were clean. Ambiance is kind of basic and it's mostly bar-style seating.

I took my 2 little girls here for dinner. We arrived around 30 min with a short wait. We really enjoyed our experience here. It was very easy to navigate how to order. You could choose from the revolving sushi conveyor or you could order any of the items directly from the menu and it would come out fresh, straight to you from the sushi bar. A cute robot brings your beverages to your table. It wasn't too loud. The sushi tasted great. The shrimp tempura was a little expensive for the 2 pieces. But everything else was fairly priced. I can't wait to come back

This is our third time dining here and we were disappointed this time. The sushi was okay but the soups were an issue. Out of the 4 ramens we ordered, one was EXTREMELY salty and the eggs in two others were completely cold. In addition, the miso soup came out tepid and the tofu in it was also completely cold. We were hoping to finish off our meals with the hot soup and tasty ramens but they did not deliver.
