Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

I've been a few times at this point and it's been a great experience. I'll break it down with some pros and cons for simplicity. Pros The sushi has been delicious. Great texture and taste and a huge variety. Cooked salmon with Kewpie, the o-toro, scallop nigiri, and yellowtail nigiri were favorites among many. The Japanese take on a fried fish taco was such a great bite, but I'm also a stupid level tartar sauce fan. Most visits the selection has been amazing, not just on the belt, but the a la carte ordering too. The atmosphere is fun and curious and bubbly. The drink robots, the choosing and pulling dishes and fun sounds, even the clatter of finished plates. Cons On one visit on a Sunday afternoon they seemed to be running out of everything. Some favorites like yellowtail and freshwater eel weren't on the belt or available to order. It can get really crowded. If it's any kind of peak dining time make a reservation or expect a wait. It can get expensive. If you have three or four people it can add up fast. In a more standard cheap sushi place you can pay about $30 a head and leave really full. Here $30 a head may leave a couple of you full, but the heavier eaters will still be hungry. The quality is better than a local "cheap" sushi place. The same atmosphere above could be a little loud and crazy for some folks. I was down the middle with it. Sometimes sushi is best enjoyed in a quieter more relaxed atmosphere, but Kura is a great way to explore new rolls and tastes. Give it a try!

Great place for revolving sushi near Tarzana. Place most definitely reminiscent of the times ive gone to Japan to eat sushi on conveyor or to order fresh on the spot. Great variety and also they have great Ramen and miso soup options. Beer and sake also available. Greay staff, environment feels like you are in Japan and its very nice clean and efficient and reasonably priced.

Kura Sushi is a fun and unique dining experience that’s perfect for families and anyone looking to try something different. It’s a revolving conveyor belt sushi restaurant where you can grab plates as they glide by, and even have your drinks delivered by a robot. My kids, ages 14 and 9, were completely fascinated. Watching the robot deliver drinks and choosing sushi right off the conveyor belt made the experience exciting and interactive. The atmosphere is lively, modern, and full of energy. It was busy when we arrived, with about a 30-minute wait, but it moved quickly and the whole experience felt worth it once we sat down. My son, who’s a total foodie, really enjoyed his meal and is already asking when we can go back. As for the food, the sushi was good, fresh, and satisfying, though not the best I’ve ever had. The real highlight here is the fun and the value. The prices are very reasonable, making it easy to try a wide variety of rolls and dishes without breaking the bank. Overall, Kura Sushi delivers a memorable and entertaining dining experience. It’s not a place I’d rush back to for top-tier sushi, but it’s absolutely worth visiting for the novelty, great value, and family-friendly fun. My kids gave it a 10 out of 10.

Definitely different than I am used to but it was good. It took a little time since they just opened but you can order of the screen at your table. I enjoyed it

Kura is the best sushi place if you want fast affordable and delicious and fun! You get to pull the items off the revolving bar or order them. Super fun and tasty.

We come here very often. Delicious sushi and rolls. No unnecessary sauces that ruin the taste. We really like everything, everything is always fresh, high-quality fish. The service is excellent. Often on weekends you need to book in advance, otherwise you have to wait a long time to be seated.

We had a really great experience at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar! Our main goal was to try the sushi from the conveyor belt — and it did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and high-quality, and the fun presentation made it even better. We ended up enjoying over 15 plates and got a cute little prize at the end — super fun touch! The place was busy but well-organized. Service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was clean and lively. Definitely a fun spot for sushi lovers. Can’t wait to go back and try more!

So I actually work at the mall and I was only ordering a few things to go and they were nice enough, to give me the little Kirby surprise which is one of the reasons I ordered and my extra spicy mayo. Excellent quality sushi and the service is quick and on the dot. No delays, & there's a waitress named April who is always accommodating whenever we need something. Would highly recommend, this location especially, would go again!

Came here thursday and food was great! We had an issue where someone stole our Dr. Pepper off the robot by accident but Aerein helped solve our issue! She was super nice and also answered our question about the limit on prizes!

I love Kura Sushi! I love the novelty of the conveyor belt sushi and the little robot that serves drinks. And the prize you get when you get 15+ plates lol. We went on Coachella Saturday and the wait was only 20 mins at prime lunch time. I was expecting like an hour + wait but the crowds were light that day. We ordered all our food and drinks vs grabbing from the conveyor bc I feel like it's just fresher that way imo. We also ordered the little prizes (sushi charms) they had available. In addition to the sushi we tried the Tonkatsu ramen and I would pass on that next time. It was way too garlicky and the noodles seemed a bit too al dente. The sushi itself was good. We ordered a variety of rolls. Philly, Rainbow, Spicy Tuna, Scallop, etc. The roll that stood out the most was their crab hand roll with soy paper. It was so good! Tasted like a roll you'd get at a more upscale sushi restaurant. Next time I'm starting my order with some hand rolls. The service itself was good but could be improved. We had to ask for a fork twice. I felt that they could have just sent it on the robot to be delivered if they were busy, but it seems like the robot is just in charge of drinks. Service depended on who we asked. Which is normal I guess. TL:DR Sushi - GOOD Ramen - NO Service - OK Robot - The best little robot out there :)

Great Ambiance but not worth the value. I rather go to AYCE sushi. Fast service, but small portion and I feel that is too expensive for the quality of food. Good to experience

The quick service and cleanliness at this location are absolutely to my taste! Aerein was super sweet and provided excellent and above service to me and asked if I needed a refill on my drink as well as picked up the leftover trash I had after each plate. I'll definitely be coming back again very soon!

Aerein is the absolute best! Always a pleasure dinning here when she's on staff. Clean atmosphere. Great food. Fast service! Love this place.

Had lunch here yesterday with my daughter. No wait time to get in and we were seated right away. The servers are friendly and brought our drinks (I guess the robot wasn't working). We chose our plates. Everything was fresh. There were more empty plates this time as school was out and families were eating, but they were filled fairly quickly. The food was good and I tried a few new items. I always leave room for the Taiyaki ice cream box. I love red bean paste! This place never disappoints!

This our all time fave revolving sushi restaurant. There's always a waitlist but didn't have to wait that long. s. The place is vibrant with lively music combined with bunch of hungry people craving for fresh sushi. My sister ordered the beef sukiyaki and the Japanese rice is not as good as the other branch and too salty. Crunchy sushi salmon and salmon with truffle oil is my comfort food. The waiters were attentive to our needs. The restroom well maintained.

Not the best sushi and unfortunately not the best experience though the staff was friendly and tried their best to right the wrongs. Right when we sat down we noticed the plates on the table were dirty. There was sauce caked underneath one of them... eeekkk. We called for assistance and our waiter fixed it immediately by taking it away and replacing them. We noticed a lot of the revolving sushi plates were empty so unfortunately there wasn't a lot to pick from. It was a pretty busy night with a lot of people waiting to get in but it would've been nice to have more food on the conveyor belt. Because of the lack of food, we decided to order things from the menu on the digital screen above. The handrolls were awesome except they kept sending the wrong menu items. We kept asking for assistance and the waiters quickly fixed the issues we had by removing the wrong items and replacing our orders. After so many mistakes we just decided to roll with it. What was happening back there in the kitchen? Maybe they were getting our table mixed up with another? Who Knows! I could maybe see myself going to another Kura at a different location but this place in particular was a little chaotic.

Came to eat with my Pomeranian and best friend and it said pet friendly online. We got there and they denied us service.

This place is fun! The revolving sushi and robot and screens and toys you get from ordering sushi add to the experience of joy. Get the app and make reservations through it or you could be waiting awhile. Plus you get discounts through it. You're seated and a robot brings your drink. The portions may seem a little smaller but you actually get a good amount for what you spend. Almost everything is $4 so you can walk out of there without spending the $100 bucks you'd planned on spending at most decent sushi places. You can wait for the conveyer belt to bring something you want or order it. It's a little more brightly lit than your typical sushi spot. Bring a few friends and enjoy.

My friend and I went on a Friday evening. We arrived around 7PM and the waitlist was 90-120 minutes. We were seated at 9PM. It was a very long wait but this is a popular restaurant that is small inside. It's located at the mall with plenty of parking. The quality of the sushi was good... I DID NOT get any food poisoning or anything like that. I had multiple different sushi and was very happy with the taste. The dessert was amazing and I would order it again in a heart beat. If the wait wasn't so long, I would be back.

The food here is decent at best, but the service is completely unacceptable. 30 minute wait time for a bar that is both dirty and completely empty. Two hour wait time when there's at least five tables open Not to mention, this is a establishment where 90% of the food comes to you on a receptacle that is already built in so you don't even need a server Not like the service come and check on you more than once anyway This isn't Covid anymore hire more people

An enjoyable experience all around! I had never been to a revolving sushi bar before and was pleasantly surprised. The fish was fresh, our server was Aerein was fantastic, and the prices were fair. We will definitely be back.

The ambiance is busy and very perfect for a city. The service is ok providing nobody explained to us how the revolving part worked. I think leaving the service to a robot is cute but not the best way of providing service only because I ordered 2 waters and the robot was at my table for 10 seconds and then scooted away when I noticed and tried to grab my beverages causing the entire waters to spill lol The food however is tasty. Shoutout the chefs and the cooks for providing great food to me and my lady!!! Gracias team!!!

Love Kura! The revolving sushi bar makes for such a cool dining experience. A special shout-out to April who made our visit even better. She was super friendly and helpful right from when we walked in. We'll definitely be back!

Food was fresh and tasty. Loved the creativity. The moving belt with sushi. It also had a TouchPad to order if you don't want to get from The belt. Service was fast. The food came straight to us. The service was friendly and the bathrooms were clean. Will def come back.

It was delicious and fresh!! Restuarant: Clean, friendly and attentive wait staff (including the robot that delivers the beverages--super cool and scary). Sushi: FRESH and TASTY. Not my first revolving sushi bar but definitely best that I've been to here in LA area. It runs like a typical revolving sushi bar as if in Japan. We were surprised how tasty the sushi was! Only criticism was the ginger we received was too fresh--needed to be ripe to eat but that's all--which really means they serve fresh sushi which is absolutely important. Price: It's $3.95 a plate which with the current state of inflation, I'm not surprised how expensive it is now as everything is expensive BUT I'd still come back and tell friends. If you're full quickly off of sushi, then you won't spend too much. Otherwise just know this going in.

I had dinner at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Sherman Oaks at Westfield Topanga Mall, and it was a solid 4/5 experience! Arriving around 5 PM on a Thursday, there was no wait, which was a big plus. The service was impressive. Both fast and attentive, making the whole experience smooth. The sushi was better than I expected, with most dishes tasting fresh and satisfying. The cheesecake dessert was an unexpected highlight as it was sweet, creamy, and a perfect way to wrap up the meal! While the conveyor belt had a lot of repetitive dishes, you can order specific items if you're craving something in particular, which helps. At around $3 to $4 per plate, it's reasonably priced for the quality and the fun, interactive setup. Definitely worth a visit for a casual, quick sushi night! Every 15 plates eaten you get a chance at the gacha machine that gives keychains (you collect 5) with one of them being like an ultra rare. Oh and service robots bring you your initial drink order

I highly recommend this fun sushi bar!! The food is incredible and the service absolutely rocks!! Special shout out to Tony & Justin for their being so helpful and accommodating! We can't wait for our next visit...we drive 30 miles just to go to Kura, the conveyor belt sushi is so fun!

I've been battling a eating disorder for a long time now, on top of being on a health journey along side that. Coming to Kura today was a huge feat for me and my mental health. I was scared and intimated. Literally sitting there fighting demons while trying to enjoy the food. Then Aerein comes along. She not only was so kind to my husband and I, but her customer service was beyond comparison. I don't know if she will ever read this, but I'd like to thank her for bringing me comfort in a time when I really needed it. She doesn't know what her presence did and I'm so thankful for her. Kura is amazing and Aerein is the definition of what makes it such a great establishment.

Great place. Recommend sign up on waiting list before you get there and check in when you do. Place is big but they fill up really quickly. The servers are great but sometimes they get busy. Use that call button. Food was good. I didn't like the beef rice as it was mostly fat and little beef. The sushi was really good. Great place to eat and have fun

Food is okay for what it is. Definitely not worth $3.95 for a plate!! Also don't ever expect to get full without spending $50 just for yourself. The service was fine and is only received when you first walk in and then the rest is automated through technology. The atmosphere of the place is somewhat clean and you can kind of smell sewage from where you drop your empty plates. Truthfully this would be my last time coming here just because of the prices getting too high and food quality getting worse from my past experiences here and at other chains.

Kura Sushi is always a fun and satisfying experience. The rotating sushi bar offers a great variety and plenty of options to try, making it easy to sample a little of everything. I almost always spend more than I plan to--but I leave happy, full, and already thinking about my next visit. The quality and convenience make it well worth it!

Love Kura, their sushi plates are always delicious! The staff are always great. Today Caylen was our server along with another young lady whose name I did not catch. Both were attentive consistently refilling our beverages and topping out ginger when asked. Even the host who sat us down was helpful. 10/10

Waited so long, they told me there is a new app and the old app no longer works. Upon check in i chose bar instead of table as it was listed that it was a shorter time for the bar. Ended up a much longer wait time for the bar! Significantly longer as 5 parties ahead of me had gone inside even if i came before them. End of it they seated us at a table. Their reservation system is not organized at all. Portions also of the food became smaller.

Kura revolving sushi bar is a great place for a quick and affordable sushi fix! I feel like as far as revolving sushi bars go, Kura is as good as it gets in this area. They have a nice variety of different fish as well as desserts and side dishes. The staff was attentive, the robot taxi delivering my drink was very entertaining. You get a surprise ball for 15 plates which was cute. Overall, I would return for a quick sushi bite!

I used to love Kyra sushi because the price matched the quality of food. The price continues to go up and now it just isn't worth it. Plates are $4.99 for two pieces of sushi. I really enjoy the experience and my kids love it but it is just not worth the price anymore. So many great sushi places in town, we'll have to try new adventures.

I always have such a good time at Kura Revolving sushi. I don't come here for the quality of the sushi necessarily, but for the experience. I get such a kick out of ordering in the screens and watching my sushi come flying on the conveyor belt. They have a lot of options coming around and around, but if you want something specific, you can order it and have it delivered straight to you. They have hand rolls, cut rolls, ramen, hot plates like fried chicken/dumplings/french fries, and apps like edamame and cucumber salad. Some of the sushi I had was good, but I wasn't a fan of their spicy hand rolls. It was a little rice and mayo heavy. Their fried chicken was really good and my son was a big fan of the watermelon. There are plenty of things to try here and something for everyone. This place is great for kids. My son was obsessed with the robot that delivers the drinks. Service from the human servers was great and they are very helpful if educating newbies how the process of ordering works. Food is just okay, but I think it's worth a visit. I always have fun when I visit Kura.

I've been going here for a while now and I can confidently say I highly recommend! The gimmick of the revolving sushi and with the conveyer belt bringing ordered food directly to your table is a plus. I especially had a pleasant time with April as our server, she acted with care and professionalism. This place is worth a visit.

I would give 0 stars if I could. The service was mid. The food quality has really gone down. It's not worth the money, but worse, I had to go through the server no manager ever came to talk to me. I paid with Apple Pay and they ended up charging me twice. I showed them on my end it went through. It's now my problem it didn't go through on Kura's end! In this economy, what a rip off! Get it together, Kura, this is major rudeness and inconvenient now it's a pain and going to take several business days for me to get my money back. I'm going through my bank. I'm never going to a Kura anywhere again! Don't waste your time or money. I was provided with one receipt and no confirmation they canceled my original payment and I warned them they would hear from me if it wasn't resolved. This payment isn't pending, it's posted and they pressured me to pay twice.

New favorite sushi spot! The food is good, the experience of revolving sushi is super fun, and the service is top notch at this location! The restaurant has a great vibe to it :) Our server, April, was the cherry on top! She was very friendly and very attentive. She gives this place an extra star! 6s!

This is my favorite Kura location ! The team there are amazing. Especially Caylen who's always goes out of his way to be so helpful with either myself my guests or family ! When you're in the neighborhood you have to drop by for the great sushi and to say sup to Caylen !!!

Was out on the town and needed a quick bite. I was really impressed by the level of quality that was this sushi bar. The service was good as my waitress was sweet and a smile on her face that's never forgettable. April was her name. Some items I had were the miso ramen, fries, garlic salmon, and some crunchy rolls. I left with the best food in my system and went back out on my journey.
