"Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, a rotary sushi chain with locations in more than a dozen states, on Thursday unveiled its second suburban Chicago location at 1755 22nd Street in Oak Brook, according to a rep. The company promises an 'eater-tainment experience' with robotic servers and a 'Bikkura Pon Prize System,' a prize machine with a touch panel and plate disposal slot that counts the dirty dishes and translates them into points." - Naomi Waxman

Kura is a very cool and unique experience! The restaurant has several modern conveyor systems and autonomous robots to deliver food and drinks. The sushi was arriving to our both almost instantly. The robot delivered our drinks very quickly! The staff was very friendly but hands-off unless requested. When requested they were very prompt! I look forward to my next visit!

Disgusting sushi! Made sloppy (like a 5yr old made the rolls) bones in the tuna. I gagged uncontrollably. Another roll had stale crunchy crap with a spicey sauce and the fish tasted rancid. I felt as tho they use old fish to cover up the taste with garbage to say the least. The conveyor belt was at a bare minimum. I ordered veggie tempura and got maybe 6 tiny slices and a quarter size green been for $ 8.55? I could have went to White Castle or Taco Bell and had been more satisfied Nothing is clearly labeled and I have a severe shrimp allergy. Unfortunately, I was not feeling adventurous. The robot concept was cute but it took 10 min to get a drink of water. Our experience lasted 15 min. Tops!

It was a Friday night and it was moderately busy. The conveyor belt was 90% empty and slim pickings. It took awhile to get our drinks from the robot and my hand roll was not wrapped very well when it arrived and was falling apart. Other than that everything else was okay. The one in Naperville seems a little better.

I came here with a group of eight people (keep in mind that the largest table seats 4, so larger parties will be seated separately). When we arrived we were told that their system was down and that they could only accept cash. Once we told them we could pay cash, the lady seemed disappointed and proceeded to ask us 2 more times if we were absolutely certain we could it cash. She then walked us halfway to our table and that was the last of our service here. The space itself is very fun and festive. The prizes, the robots, the conveyer belt, the plate counter…it all makes for a fun and unique dining experience! The sushi itself was good, not great. Is it the best sushi you’ll ever have? No. Is it good? Absolutely. There are tons of options it became a little overwhelming to pick and try. I do wish that the service was better and that the machines/robot were better cleaned. I felt gross touching them at times. Other than that, I do recommend and would return!

I went for dinner and wasn't satisfied whatsoever. The place was overly crowded and very dirty. I made reservations ahead and still had to wait an additional 15 minutes. We tried over 20 plates of sushi and can honestly say I enjoyed 2. My son ordered ramen and beef fried rice. I personally wasn't a fan of the ramen, but the beef fried rice was delicious. We also ordered 2 desserts, which both were decent. My kids were so excited for the robot to bring our drinks, yet it took 20 minutes just to get a water refill. What a disappointment that was. Overall, it's not worth the hype, I will stick to my regular sushi places where I actually get a waitor and good service.

My family loves Kura for lunch! The staff greets you with a smile, the drink robot is adorable, the food is tasty (we all have our favorites), and the changing themes are fun. There is a touch screen at each table for ordering drinks, sushi, soups, desserts, and limited time dishes too. We always leave with a happy tummy and a smile!

Google
I think the experience was decent. Just a thing or two that needs improvement from what I've seen. While I don't mind ordering food through the screen, there were a lot of empties on the conveyor belt. I get it that lunch time is a slower pace time, but it would be nice to have a variety between the screen and the conveyor belt. The sauce trays are useful, the design on them throws me off because the gold splash paint on them tricks me that they're used Soy Sauce splashes on them. I think perhaps change them out to "no design" trays. Although I did find a tray or two that actually had sauce stains on them. Whoever is washing them needs to make sure these don't go out on the dining tables or do checks to make sure they are clean before the next customer sits down. The dining atmosphere during lunch was peaceful. I recommend visiting during these times rather than the weekend evenings where it's packed. The staff were nice. Just hit that "call" button and they'll help you out! And watch where you are walking, they do have the cute delivery robots driving around. Overall, not bad. Could be better. I'll be back again on a different day to give it another whirl. Schaumburg location is better, but Oak Brook still has some work to improve.

Google
This is our first time coming to this location but we’ve been to Kura Revolving Sushi bar before. I must say after going to Japan and visiting the Kura there in Osaka, my expectations went up. The food was good but some sushi pieces broke immediately when we picked it up with the chopsticks. We did come on a Monday at 745pm so maybe the food has been on the conveyer too long? My favorite is Seared beef with umami oil. The service was great no complaints If you want fresh sushi you might want to order it from the touch screen. Oh also you order your water/drinks on the touch screen too and a robot brings it to you

Caitlin T.

Yelp
Food: 10/10 I love the sushi here bc it is served on a conveyor belt, meaning you can choose whatever you want as long as you have the $ and appetite. My favorites are the salmon and eel sushi's bc they r not too think where you can't taste the fish, and are seared to perfection. The sauce on top gives it a nice touch too. After you finish each plate of sushi, you put the dirty plates in a dropper. Every time you accumulate 15 plates of sushi, you get a toy from the little gacha dispenser above your ordering screen. Service: 10/10 Seared right away bc there was no crowd. A robot words around the restaurant to give each table their drinks or utensils. Ambiance: 9/10 Just cool to have rotating sushi. The bathrooms have bidets!!!

Randy W.

Yelp
Usually it's a 4-star as the sushi is tasty and fresh. Unfortunately this time, everything seemed to taste a bit off and service too?! Maybe the stars and planets were misaligned but probably going to pass for a couple of moon cycles lol. Place is always clean so that's a plus!

Cherry O.

Yelp
My experience at Kura was much better than the last time I visited. I thinks it's due to the premium menu that was offered. I enjoyed the blue fin Toro that was on the menu and some other items. All the plates were fresh and every thing was readily available on the revolver. And a few times we ordered through the iPad and the dishes came out super fast. Service was also very good.

Faustino O.

Yelp
Kura is one of my favorite spots to grab a quick and tasty meal. The miso ramen is so good! The broth and noodles are just right! As usual, the sushi is fresh and fun to grab off the belt. The service is quick and efficient, and the staff is always friendly. The atmosphere is fun and lively, making it a great place to relax and enjoy good food. Whether I'm here for ramen, sushi, or both, Kura never disappoints!

Rachel H.

Yelp
I like this place. My toddlers love this place. Rotating sushi and robots to deliver drinks equal a family of four easy dinner night, if a bit on the higher side price wise. But we've been here 4 or 5 times and have enjoyed it even when it's super busy, and will be back.

Kate H.

Yelp
This is the most mechanized restaurant I have ever been to. There are two conveyor belts, a video screen (for ordering and playing cartoons) and a robot that brings the drinks. When you order a certain number of plates a toy pops out. It's a lot of fun overall and a great place to bring kids. This is by far the best conveyor belt sushi I have ever had. The quality was really good and there are a lot of things in rotation. We'll definitely be looking to try out other locations.

Sandy D.

Yelp
We had a 20 minute wait and couldn't quite fit our party of 6 at one table, but we still loved this place, from the robot waitress, to the fun food conveyer belts and "15 plate prize" that rolled down out of the prize box up above the tables. The kitchen was great about "over searing" our salmon for the person in our party who can't eat anything without it being fully cooked through. Kura in Oak Brook was great. (If you have a big family you might have to sit at two separate tables.)

Sarah K.

Yelp
Super fun experience. Good service. You can order hot dishes or specialty items and they are sent up your table via conveyor belt. And you can also grab what you want directly from the conveyor belt as it goes by your table. Drinks are brought by a robot- super cute. Hot drinks or alcohol are brought by a server. Fun family night out

Mirella K.

Yelp
Yessss, I LOVE Kura! I've been to the Schaumburg location so many times and have now gone to this Oak Brook location twice, so you know I gotta review it. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is the bomb. Period. Seriously, it's the best revolving sushi around. The plates always come out so fresh and delicious, especially when you order on the screen at your table - it's made to order. For my introverts out there, you'll love this part - there is no designated server for you. You either take a plate from the conveyor belt, or order on the screen at your table and your order comes served on the second level of the conveyor belt above the main one. If you really do need a server's assistance, you can press that on the screen at your table and someone will come to you. The food here is outstanding. Sometimes the sushi rolls may not look like anything extraordinary, but the taste is delicious. I absolutely love the salmon golden crunchy roll, red dragon roll, tiger roll, spicy tuna roll, gyoza, and crispy rice with spicy tuna. They also have ramen, hand rolls, nigiri, and various desserts and sides. The pricing is unmatched, too; I believe it's $3.50 per plate, with some being more or less (I'd double check that though because I'm not 100% sure). Kura is always super clean, has friendly staff, and the food is great. I highly recommend this place for affordable sushi, especially if you like revolving conveyor belt sushi. 5/5 for me!

Lauren H.

Yelp
Just gonna say I love the concept. Robot sushi and fast service is amazing. Only issue I have is the place is small and if u have more than 4 people in your party they really have no seating for you. The Ramen and the dessert is next level delicious. I know I should be talking about sushi but since you can order whatever u want and it shows up fresh I gotta say I would show up for ramen and maybe a sushi roll then the donuts and ice cream. We had a party of 3 and ate until we were stuffed for $100. Amazing!!!

Joy C.

Yelp
This was a disappointment. Maybe because they recently just opened, or it was an off night, whatever it was, this was definitely a sad experience. I came in on a Thursday, around 6:30 p.m. The place was not busy but it took a few minutes for someone to show up to sit us. Once seated in a booth, we had to call someone's attention, as well as use the tablet in our booth to call for service. The selections were lame. For the couple of rolls that I really wanted to try, the plates were always empty. The rolls that were available were basically the same stuff, they just differed from sauces drizzled on top of each roll. Some of the rolls that kept passing by looked like they've been sitting there for several hours already. Compared to the one in Schaumburg, this location fell really short. The place was clean since it is new and parking was easy. Other than those, the service and the sushi roll selections were basically why I wouldn't come back.

Krista W.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant for a weekend trip out of town with 2 teens. They loved the sushi and the gimmicks of the rotating plates. The robot server was so cute and the faces it made were entertaining. We will seek out more of these restaurants in our future.

Jocelyn H.

Yelp
I came here on my birthday with my partner and we had a great time. The sushi is served on plates with 1-4 pieces per plate. You can take the sushi on the conveyor belt or order a la carte items from the tablet at your table and it will be delivered by a robot or a separate conveyor belt. Each plate is around $3 I believe and if you finish 15 plates, you can win a free prize (not a great prize, but it was fun). My favorite was the Kura Roll! I wouldn't recommend the beef or eel since those were pretty chewy and not enjoyable to eat. It's a really fun experience and I would highly recommend it.

Joey J.

Yelp
I never thought I'd see the day where revolving sushi bar would be such an easy distance to drive. When you're done with your plates, you put them through this little slide and depending on how many plates you put through you get this cute little video in your table of this animation of someone trying to get back a recipe and if you put in enough plates, you'll get a prize That has a theme of what's going on. For example, the first time I went there the prize was Charlie brown themed, the next time I went it was one piece themed. And the sushi is fantastic.

Ryan D.

Yelp
I have never been to a revolving sushi restaurant before, and after our experience at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, I'm excited to try others. My husband and I met a friend from out of town and wanted to treat her to something special. The concept is really simple, and the best part is that the food is ready to be eaten as soon as you sit down. We got there shortly after the restaurant had opened, so we knew the food was fresh. They have a great variety of sushi, appetizers, drinks, and desserts to choose from. The food tastes wonderful. The revolving belt and robot server added entertainment to the meal. I highly recommend Kura Revolving Sushi Bar for great food and a great time.

Katie N.

Yelp
A solid 3 for me as in only ok. Positives Restaurant very clean Server explained conveyor belt process The robot that brings out your drinks plays music Can pay from kiosk right at your seat Compared to other rotary sushi places, each plate was a flat rate Room for improvement Choices didn't update frequently. Not many options were coming around and Rice tasted very meh Lots of sauce in the rolls

Gabby Z.

Yelp
super great location. the staff was friendly and very helpful. when we signed in inside it said about 15-20 minute wait and we waited 30 minutes. found out you can sign in earlier on the app. we got seated and got shown where to order and how it works. which it was pretty similar to a different place i've eaten at. we got about 13 plates and ordered fries, chicken dumplings and edemame. all sushi was made to perfection, we tried crunchy roll, caterpillar, spicy popcorn shrimp, spicy cali and some others. we got filled up by the food and also squeezed in ice cream. total was about $60 i'd say pretty worth it

Luke W.

Yelp
Expensive first class future tech dining, nonstop train of dishes gliding through the walls, we ended near hundred and twenty bucks between three adults and child. Perhaps normal for seasoned sushi veterans but a shock as I recall a couple big rolls goes cheaper most anywhere. Fresh Thyme and Kroger sushi stands with their six dollar rolls make this place look like a scam. The staff was extra friendly, charmingly so and attentive throughout the evening, missed with each robotic beverage delivery. My friends had both been here and prepared me for their pick for Sunday. I couldn't ignore the chance to try Japanese style conveyor dining. It's a bright and fun space with well designed seating. Quickly realized the kid next to the moving entrees was not the ideal! We got sampling and noticed top grade ingredients well made into rolls, gyoza, takoyaki, and eventually ramen as well. Most were small however surprisingly expensive without any clarity to sizes overall. Ordering via the screen was easy and intuitive but again difficult to sort options from pricing, sizing, and finding some items advertised turned into a dead end as they were out. I'd like to see streamlined pricing to enhance family and friends meals, trying new items, and most essentially freeing up the kitchen from food waste. Ramen was fantastic. Crab roll and gyoza, easy to eat, savory, balanced, got through a lot of the menu! Finished with Sapporo, cheesecake, and strawberry mochi, a draft beer always hits the spot. The other desserts were very small, again there needs more accessible picks to add value and accommodate a full booth. This is an easy recommend alongside a thick wallet and responsible ordering, all adds up so quick.

Jane P.

Yelp
We had such a good meal here. My kid loves rotary sushi so we checked out a new one. First of all it had the cleanest nicest restaurant bathrooms ever. The price points and variety were great and the conveyor belt even sent out your orders which was really fun. There was a little robot butler and REAL CRAB in the California rolls amen. The service was also great. 10/10 would come back.

Kathy M.

Yelp
Total stop on a whim after a movie at Oakbrook. Walked in and didn't realize it was a conveyer belt sushi style restaurant but our eyes lit up quickly! Have been meaning to go to one and accidentally did. As we were walking to our table the cute little yellow robot drove past us. I felt like I was in an episode of the Jetsons. When we sat down waitstaff ( which were all so friendly) came over to explain how to pull plates up on belt to eat. Then After slide the plates into small disposal that collects them and calculates how much $ you have spent so far. The plates are about $4 each. We thought we were doing well but had forgotten to put a few plates in so the money adds up quickly if you are not keeping up. I loved how you can order more water, and the robot comes out. Now that I think about it I think we accidentally ordered a refill of soda on screen, you do get charged for that so push the call button for waitress to bring you free refills. As for the food. I cannot remember what we ate but everything was amazing. We ordered garlic fried rice and a shrimp tempura for the hot plates and that comes on belt on top level. Then It stops at your table and dings. We loved the experience and the food and cannot wait to come back!

Ryan J.

Yelp
We've become sushi connoisseurs. This place opened months back, but we decided to try it tonight. It was pretty quiet for 4:30pm. The restaurant is fairly large with bar seating and booth seating, but not many customers were there. It's clean, extremely well lit, and they have their own robot to deliver drinks and various menu items. You know she's coming when the music starts. I like that all the plates are the same price and they're disposed of in a slot at your booth. Also, when you deposit the plates, it calculates your total on the screen. The only reason for the 3 is the extremely limited selection. We actually left early because nothing was coming around but empty plates. I got desperate for more food and decided to just eat the Inari.

Kim J.

Yelp
Loved everything. Went for a quick lunch and it met the bill. Lots of different rolls on the conveyor belt and fun to have your drinks delivered by a robot. The sushi was fresh and delicious! Will be back often!!! Such a treasure!!!

Jesus V.

Yelp
I've been to a few sushi revolving places and unfortunately this one scored very low. Server was nice but rushed. Wish we had plates to eat from when we pulled the sushi from the belt. The ginger is placed in a container that's been sitting at the table for who knows how long. Food on the belt wasn't very exciting to even look at. Rolls would come apart as soon as you grab them. Food quality just tastes off. We tried a few plates and had to call it quits. Place is clean I'll give them that. Overall, save your time and money and I recommend eating elsewhere, I can already feel my stomach not going to forgive me for coming here.

Andi H.

Yelp
A fun and quirky experience where robots bring you drinks and you grab food plates from the rotating bar. They also use tablets at the table or order additional items. The food was decent, but don't expect the world's best sushi; honestly we went for a unique experience. People were friendly!

Rhonda S.

Yelp
Have never had SO MUCH FUN at lunch like I did at this place! Woo! My friend and I just laughed and laughed caus we were having a blast. The entire time was a complete dining experience. The interior is very unique and modern. A very cool trendy vibe. The service was excellent, the girls waiting on us were happy to walk us through how things worked and were very quick to get us anything we needed. The FOOD! Wow! Every item we ordered was amazing. I LOVE the food conveyor belt. The first time one of our orders came zipping through on the belt we had no idea it was there. The chef had to say something to us on the speaker which startled us and made us laugh. Please take your order off the belt! The minute we did our two orders of fresh yellowtail nigiri zipped over to us. Mmmm The cold sake we shared was so good. The prices are very reasonable. The little Japanese toys you can buy in the machines were very cute. Everything here is so much fun especially the ordering process with the touch screen. The cute little automated server robot brought us our drinks and I loved that robot. This place is a must-do if you have a hankering for sushi.

Michelle W.

Yelp
Finally had time to pop in for a quick lunch. Ive watched this location being built and I was so excited to check it out. All of the plates on the bet are $3.40 which I think is a great deal as are the the beverages except for beer. They have other food items available on the menu from udon to tempura. We stuck with the sushi. I have to say I was overly excited about the robot the brought out our drinks and sides of ginger. If you want a specific plate of sushi it is as easy at going to the item in the digital touch screen menu. Selecting it. And placing the order. I think it took about 90 seconds max for the item I wanted to zip over to me on the top belt. They have a really nice variety of rolls and I'd like to come back and try some of their hot food items. I love how fast we could get in a quick, healthy, and pretty inexpensive lunch $23 sushi + DC + tip) Definitely a new go to lunch spot. My co-worker and I were already talking about when we were coming back as we left.

Justine C.

Yelp
This place is still a great time and a fun experience! Got seated right away for a Sunday early lunch and we're give instructions on how the rotating sushi bar works. The technology to find your menu items are pretty straightforward and the service comes quick! The rotating belt of sushi items, appetizers, and desserts have plenty of options. I loved the Golden Crunchy sushi roll the most! There are robots who come and bring your drinks and other items which is pretty fun for all ages. It was about $70 plus for our bill since we also had drinks. Definitely a good spot to try for families and with friends!

S M.

Yelp
It's an unusual, interesting, fun restaurant. The plates of sushi go by quickly on conveyor belts. The sushi quality was just OK because of the skimpy slices of fish & inconsistent. We ordered the King crab sushi, one was generous, the 2nd order was 1/4 of that size?!Service is basically non-existent. Also be careful cause it's fun to try all different sushis whooshing by, but it really adds up quickly!

Ed P.

Yelp
The service and the speed of the orders produced were both excellent. The sushi was pretty weak. I understand the idea of having flat rate $3.50 sushi, but it's not really much of a deal when the fish is cut paper thin and the rice doesn't hold together. The spider roll (fried soft shell crab) had so much extra veggies and rice that you couldn't really taste the crab. The tamago (sweetened egg omelette) was rubbery. I'd be happy to pay a bit more for better quality.

M P.

Yelp
Loved the setting, unique for our area, cool robot, didn't love the sushi options and price.

Sherwin C.

Yelp
What a fun experience! Taking friends and family here is something that everyone should try to do at least once because it's a very cost effective way to have a unique experience. Unlike the standard sushi restaurant, everything here is really built around a game like experience. You get drinks, ginger, and wasabi served to you by a musical robot, use a touch screen interface to order special things, get custom dishes and hot food delivered to your table personally through the belt, and get to watch an endless array of dishes go by your table and choose whatever interests you. For every 15 plates you also get a little fun prize to take home as well. This is all in a restaurant filled with fun art all around and a fun atmosphere. Of course, none of this would matter if the food wasn't good as well. While this may not be as good as the top options for sushi out there, the prices charged here are quite reasonable and in line with eating anywhere else (without as fun of an experience). They do offer some higher end options here like hotate, wagyu beef, negitoro, etc. at pretty reasonable prices though I didn't see the highest end cuts offered here. The assembly of the maki and sushi is overall quite attractive and makes for wonderful pictures, particularly when you have a bunch on the table at once. The fish is pretty fresh and I like the flavor combinations in the rolls overall though there could be a bit more texture contrast overall on the different elements. For slices of fish, they had a pretty good slice overall -- generally the mid-fatty level of what you'd expect except for those which were labelled as the higher end special items. We did try the takoyaki and fried squid as well and found both to be fresh, hot, and delicious. Overall, it's hard to find a revolving sushi concept that's as modern, clean, fun, and reasonably priced as Kura. It's definitely worth a visit for a fun experience and delicious meal.

Mina H.

Yelp
This location was not great. Sushi choices were blah and tasteless. Menu choices that came out were also mediocre, and 2 pieces of tempura were not worth $7. Would not go back.

Jess R.

Yelp
This place is great. The robots and conveyor belt system is interesting and novel. The ambiance really feels like you're in a Japanese sci fi movie. Little smiling robots are delivering drinks while your sushi arrives on a high speed conveyor belt. Just fun! But all of this would just be gimmicky if the food was not good. Im kind of a Ramen snob, I've tried many places all around chicago and Kura has the second best (the #1 place cost 3x as much). The sushi was excellent and the Tayaki was one of the best I've had. Plum wine might be my new favorite drink too. My only complaint is they need a big green arrow pointing to the sign in kiosk that says "Start Here" because it's not super obvious how it all works and the workers aren't exactly proactive about explaining it. Also, I want to say, we almost didn't go to this place due to the negative Yelp reviews by others. Maybe the store has changed over time but basically everything the other reviews said is wrong! The sushi is not priced as high as the other reviewer says. And yeah the place is robotic, it's the point. If you want to chat up your waiter go to Chilis or something. What did you expect?

Donna P.

Yelp
Great sushi, fast service and kind employees. The first time a robot has ever brought me a drink , so cool

Yvonne O.

Yelp
Tried a new (to us) revolving sushi place with the family this weekend to great results. I love a place that lets you order on your own timetable on an iPad and the robots delivering some of the things delighted the kids. There are plenty of cooked options for the husband including wagyu and seared tuna or salmon. It's nice that when you get to 15 plates a prize will come down out of those stored up top. We got the two magnetic bookmarks and earned a tshirt as well through the app. It's pricey - $120 for lunch with 15 plates and a bunch of things ordered off the hot menu, but nice for a treat now and then! Servers are helpful as well to help you on your first visit. Very clean and well spaced too.

Kenyata F.

Yelp
Wait time kiosk is simple and easy. parking is usually available but it's a busy lot. Greeter was very kind and took the time to explain.the process. The sushi was fresh, the beer cold, and the plate drop in slot to help keep the tables clean and calculate your bill is brilliant in my opinion. I never felt crowded while eating because of the dishes. The ambiance is ok lots of chatter and rotating sounds. I can't recall if music was playing. I would go back but I also would like a bit more options like miso soup not just ramen and maybe some egg roll appetizers.

Jonna N.

Yelp
Very happy with my time at this new location. It's much closer to me and less traffic. The parking lot was kinda full at a 7pm on Friday but that makes sense honestly. It's dinner time on the weekend. They don't have waitlist on their app for this location yet so you have to go to into the location and sign in. It's the same tablet they use for other locations. The waiting area was kinda of small but we got a seat after a few parties before us were called. They were busy but everything was super clean. The conveyor belt was pretty filled too! We were able to grab all our faves off it. The sushi itself tasted good! The tables already had chopsticks, ginger, wasabi and soy sauce on them. The robot just brought drinks and they came fast. It was a very smooth dining experience. I'd definitely come again!

Victoria T.

Yelp
The menu was limited and the rotating belt had limited options as well. The service was great .. very modern restaurant.

Nick R.

Yelp
I have been to all you can eat conveyor belt sushi restaurants before but Kura takes it a step further with more automation. Upon walking in there seems to be a cafeteria feel. They do not have a liquor license so soda and tea are the only options. The conveyor belts brings plates you grab yourself and a screen shows you how many plates you have had. If you do not see anything on the belt you can order from the screen and the item comes out on a different conveyor. For those seated in booths automated robots which play loud music were annoying. The quality of sushi was ok and mostly rice. If you are wanting to experience something different and wanting quantity and not quality this is you place. For me I prefer a traditional sushi restaurant.

Yelp
Very quality, yet affordable sushi. The ambiance is very casual, and the revolving bar ordering system is pretty fun. I will probably come back

Yelp
I'm always wary of conveyor belt sushi places, but this place is in a league of its own. If you're as big of a nerd about robots and automation like I am, this is the place to geek out! The conveyor belt was fresh and if there was an item you wanted that was missing, the touchscreen allowed you to order it and have it brought to you via a second dedicated conveyor belt. And instead of having stacks of plates left over on the table, there is a little slot by the conveyor belt where you can deposit your dirty plates and win little toys. The whole operation was very slick and fun. The sushi quality and taste was excellent too, far exceeding my expectations of a conveyor belt place! The only gripes I had were that some improvements with the automation, especially the touch screen, could be made. I didn't see a "search" function which would've been very helpful vs. scrolling through a dozen+ pages of options. I also wish I could've ordered more things through the touchscreen such as sauces or extra ginger and wasabi. At least flagging down a waiter using the screen was easy enough. The waitstaff were friendly and all, but I more enjoyed the server robot that zipped around singing a tune while delivering drinks to tables. With that said, the place is a bit on the loud side. This chain is expanding into my adopted home town and I can't wait to check them out when they open there!

Yelp
This was so fun. My tween daughter is obsessed with everything Japanese so this was a perfect dinner experience for her. Was it super fast? No. But we didn't have to wait to get in and anything we wanted that was slow on the conveyor we just ordered separately. The only thing I didn't like was that we didn't get "credit" towards prizes for the tempura box we ordered or the mochi and ice cream we got at the end. I mean give us 3 plates credit for the $10+ we spent on that item. Just because my kid wanted more prizes. I guess we could've purchased some as well though. Fun experience.

Yelp
Great place to grab some quick conveyor belt sushi! All the places are about $3.95 per plate and the quality is definitely pretty good for it being conveyor belt style sushi. This Kura location opened pretty recently so it's still nice and clean. Drinks are served to you by robots that are programmed to go to a specific table. My faves here are definitely the seared salmon Japanese mayo and the spicy salmon hand roll (which has to be ordered ala carte on the screen above your table. Things to note: restrooms are single use only. Parking is plentiful as it shares a big parking lot with the other establishments in the plaza.

Yelp
I didn't eat here but I did walk in after eating next door. Fun looking place and will one day eat here.

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing. You can pick out anything that you want from the revolving sushi line or you can order from the screen. The kids really like that the robots bring their drinks. They do have vegetarian options, which was really nice. My granddaughter picked something from the screen and she ordered way too many and I did find the waitress and she did take it off our bill because we did not need 4 sushi rolls. The Ramen was fantastic. We will definitely be back actually we have been back a couple times.

Yelp
Our first time here. It's clean and the belt doesn't stop. We had a variety of different dishes from edamame to custard. A server explained how to get the dishes from the conveyor belt and that we should put our finished dishes in the slot. The dishes were counted as they slid to the conveyor belt that took the dirty dishes to the kitchen. It was fun watching the different dishes as they went by. We had a total of 16 plates, which came out to $75 (with drinks and tip). We had our usual rolls and dishes such as rainbow roll, edamame, and red dragon. Tried a few new combos. The only thing that I felt about the tolls as a negative is that they all tasted similar. Nothing stood out. Even the lemonade was a bit weak. The staff, including the robot drink deliverers, were professional and friendly. We tried this, and as an unusual experience it was okay, but I'd rather go to AYCE instead.

Yelp
One of the best things about Kura in Oak Brook is not just the great food but the workers! One worker that we mostly see is the manager Floyd, he is always smiling every day and is attentive to our needs. His hospitality and service are amazing. He is very warm-hearted and always makes us laugh. We will continue coming back for more.

Yelp
My family of 4 loves it here. We haven't had to wait too long to get a seat. There's an assortment of sushi that are on the conveyor belt for you to pick. You can also order sushi, noodles, rice, dessert, drinks and all sorts of food if you don't see it on the conveyor belt. Both my boys love it here. After you eat 15 plates you get a prize from the machine up top. You get another prize after another 15 plates. There is a robot that brings you water, wasabi, ginger and napkins. There is parking lot right aside as it is part of a plaza with other restaurants. This is very convenient to Costco! There are many tables along with individual seats like a bar setting.

Yelp
I don't even have words for how bad our experience is (happening in live time) so I'll summarize some facts: - Joined the waitlist around 6:30 - Got a text that our table was ready at 7:02 - Finally got seated at 7:58 - It is now 8:31 and we've been seated forever, the entire conveyor belt of sushi is (and has been) empty this entire time and we're STILL waiting on the dishes that we ordered when we first sat down. - Restaurant closes in 59 minutes with dozens of people waiting in the lobby to be seated still. Boy will they be disappointed when they finally get a table and no food ever arrives. Drive to the Schaumburg location instead. This one is a total disappointment.
