Here’s Where to Eat While You’re Holiday Shopping in the Bay Area

"Break up the shopping grind with a meal that’s both good-tasting and fun. This chain with outposts from Sacramento to San Jose is known for its high-tech approach to serving sushi; small plates arrive via conveyor belt after being ordered via a touch screen at the table. For every five plates your table orders, an animated video plays; for every 15 plates, you get a prize. The location near the San Francisco Premium Outlets, which are actually located in Livermore, is technically in Pleasanton but it’s just kitty-corner to the massive outlet mall in the same plaza as 99 Ranch Market." - Lauren Saria, Becky Duffett

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Pleasanton is similar to all the Kura in California. It offers a fast service. A clean and comfortable dining area with sushi and other small dishes on the conveyor belt next to your table. When they pass through, I usually pick up the dishes that look good and yummy and order more dishes on the touchscreen next to my table. The special order items are super fast delivered to my table on the upper special order belt. It is so convenient and highly efficient. The quality of the sushi is not the best. But it is perfect if you're looking for a quick sushi lunch or dinner.

This is our second Kura location we tried. We came on a Tuesday for a quick dinner date while in the area. The set up is the same as the one in San Jose and similar to the revolving sushi bar in Japan but pricier. lol This location is easy to find and in the Asian plaza across from the San Francisco outlets in Livermore. Plenty of parking. The table where we sat had plenty of sushi coming on the revolving belt. Even our orders that we picked from the screen came out fast. Good thing we came on a weekday. Not good for groups as the tables here are small. Best for two couples or 4 persons. As for service, it's all about ordering from the screen. We only asked for wasabi. Our drinks came by the cute machine. The best sushi was the hand rolls then the rolls. They were big and filling. I liked anything turo. The sushi are not the best but in general, the sushi is not super fresh. We had 21 plates and we paid over a hundred dollars ($3.75 ea) including one beer. For the price I paid, I think I prefer a regular Japanese sit down restaurant than this or even a sushi buffet.hehe

Everything is fresh and looks impressive. There is a wide variety of sushi, but my favorite is the garlic ponzu sashimi. The restaurant is well-maintained and clean, and the servers are very friendly. They don’t interrupt too often, which allows you to enjoy your meal peacefully. I also really like Mr. Kur-B, the Kura robot that delivers drinks—such a fun touch!

Once you’ve gone to a Kura in Japan, it’s hard not to compare to the locations in the US. The menu caters to more American tastes in their US locations (duh) - think tempura Philadelphia rolls, California rolls, spider rolls, etc. You either order through the tablet at your table or grab plates from the bottom conveyor belt. Each nigiri plate (2 pieces) is roughly ~$4. Drinks are about the same. The soups are $11-15. For the amount and quality, I’m not sure if it is worth it, but if you just want to experience a conveyor sushi belt restaurant, then it’s fine as a special treat every once in a while. You can play “bikkurapon” by opting in on the order tablet, and sliding your empty plates into the slot at your table. You will get a chance to win a small gacha prize when you reach 15 plates. Once you’re done eating, you have to ‘check out’ on the tablet, and a server will come to you. Unlike Japan, they are missing the hot water and complimentary green tea at each table. Highly recommend downloading the app to make a reservation. The wait times are long if you just walk in. Lots of young families dining here. The bathrooms were clean. Entrance was a little tight, I am not sure if it was 100% accessible.

Google
Cool fun place to eat with friends. The conveyor belt is mesmerizing. The offerings on the belt are limited but the electronic menu has many more choices. Partner treated me on my birthday. We got about 20 pieces at $2.75 each Update, we're finally back. Tasty and fresh Update Sept 2025. They have some new sushi dishes for people to try. Their Philadelphia roll which in general comes without any crab meat has crab meat in it. That's just a caution for people of shellfish allergies.

Google
This is not the quality and the hype I heard about, but it is "you pay for what you get." If you are looking for authentic sushi, don't come here. If you're looking for low quality conveyor belt sushi that kids love, then come here. I'm not a fan, but that does not mean it's not for others. Try it out for yourself. Try to get yourself on the wait-list. Luckily it's let's you know via text instead of waiting around the entrance.

Google
Fun place to take your family to. Each plate has increased in price a bit (now $4 per plate, ramens are $11), however it is still worth going to. The quality of fish is great for what you pay for. Getting the prize is always a joy to chase. I do like that Kura tries something different every few months. They add new items to their menu, and they do different collaborations to keep things fresh. This time they had the Tamago with cheese and seared mayo on top. It was very sweet and smokey. A unique taste for sure. Worth it to download the app to get on the waitlist early and collect reward points. Although, the reward points expire pretty quickly.

So much fun! The staff are really nice. The food is yummy. The giveaways are cool. We love that my autistic daughter can use the screen to order and she loves taking plates from the belt and putting empties in the slot!

Yelp
Sushi is okay. Not the freshest. I noticed that the rolls were small and lightweight. The garlic ponzu salmon was good. The Taiyaki ice cream was okay. It was too oily and tasted like it was cooked in old oil. Service was fast and efficient. At least during the time that I came in. I came on a Tuesday at around 11:45 am. I thought it was a fun dining experience where you can conveniently order from a screen and get your food delivered through a conveyor belt. Make sure you keep track of the exact number of plates you consume. It happened to me when I haven't started but my screen says there was already one plate inserted into the plate dispenser.

Yelp
I was really excited to hear about Kura Sushi's collaboration with the upcoming Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle movie. As part of the promotion, they released a beautifully designed drink bottle set featuring artwork from the anime. For $20, you get it along with a drink of your choice--either green tea or soda. I chose the green tea, which was refreshing and perfect for the hot day when I visited. One of the highlights of the experience was having my order delivered by a robot--it was very fun and entertaining. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful. Since it was my first time at Kura Sushi, I had a bit of trouble navigating the ordering tablet, but a staff member quickly came over to assist us. She was very kind and helpful. The restaurant's ambiance was also very nice. Even though it was busy, the booth we were seated in felt private and cozy.

Yelp
Been to Kura a couple times and it is a fun concept with the sushi plates constantly revolving and the robot drink waiter. Food: 3.5/5 The sushi is good. The ramen is average, the portion of ramen and the toppings are average. We grabbed several sushi plates, dessert plates, sides and ramen. We enjoyed it, but overall it was average. Price: 3/5 The individual sushi plates that are revolving are about $4 a plate. The ramen is around $11. Desserts are $6-7. Not any one thing is overly expensive, but the sushi plates are fairly small, so you will need several. We went with a party of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids-14 and 11) our bill was $150. I wasn't super full but, my wife and kids were. Ambiance: 4/5 The ambiance is fun. It's a fun place to go with family or friends. Definitely not a fancy vibe but, it is fun. The little robots are driving around delivering drinks and play cute little songs when they deliver. It's also fun to watch the sushi items going around on the conveyer belt. Customer service: 3.5-4/5 You have limited staff interaction. It's limited to the host seating you. After that, you order on a mounted tablet. Drinks are delivered by the robots, anything else order is sent directly to you on a conveyer belt. The small sushi plates are constantly revolving and you can grab them as they pass by. You can also order anything they offer on the tablet and it will get to you in a few minutes by conveyer belt. You also pay you bill on the tablet. If you want details on the ingredients on each dish, you can find that by clicking the dish on the tablet. The soy sauce was almost out and nobody really came around to check on the table. So if you want to find a server, you have to get up and seek them out. Otherwise, it was a very fun and enjoyable ordering experience. If you are looking for something fun and fairly unique, this is a fun restaurant to check out!

Yelp
Service has gone down for this location. It's almost non-existent during the whole dine in. Gives a sense of understaffed. As soon as the host seats you down & gives you one serving of wasabi, there is no greeting at the table afterwards like how they used to. You rely solely on the tablet for drinks (robot will bring it) & food. The sushi rice gets cold after going around the conveyor. But if you want something fresh, order from the tablet. The chefs are not fulfilling the belt fast enough or are loaded with custom orders. Although, one of the toros that was ordered, came out practically frozen. We've also tried the tonkatsu ramen, the texture of the noodle was too chewy. As if it was not cooked well enough. Otherwise, other sushi items were just ok. Side note: With the price going up again, it's almost $4 a plate.

Yelp
Service here is the worst I've ever experienced. Other than getting seated, no one came after we requested service through their ordering screen because our soy sauce container was nearly empty. Ended up switching with a table across from us when they left but their soy sauce container was missing the silver spout so it was unusable. No one came to check on us or refill water but ordering on the screen brought the water via their robot servers. Asked the employees who came to clean the table across from us for more soy sauce and he just switched the cap from our table with the other one. Fish here is meh, nothing to write home about but the kids love feeding the plates into the drop area and seeing if they get some prizes or not. $174 for 40 plates and it just didn't feel like a good value for the food quality or experience given the complete lack of service. The pen that came with the check didn't work to sign the bill either and we had to locate someone to get a working pen. Pretty disappointed because I've been to this location before and the service was not this bad previously. Hope management can improve the customer service a little.

Yelp
We love a conveyer belt and revolving sushi situation, but sad to say this place fell a bit short. They price by plates ($3.95 each) and you pretty much order everything on their tablet -- including water. Although, drinks are supposed to served by a robot, we never got our water until we just asked a waiter to get us some like 20 minutes later. He was kind enough to let us know that him getting us drinks is an option if we didn't want to use the tablet, which he had no problem doing so. There's just not much of a waiter interaction and it's a bit hard to track them down if you need something, so that would definitely be an issue if this place was any busier than it was on a Wednesday evening at 7pm. Service was eh even when it wasn't extremely busy. The sushi wasn't as fresh and some rolls like the spicy tuna roll was too cucumber & rice heavy than the actual tuna. I'd skip on the Kura roll (too mayoey) and Rainbow Roll. I still wanted to give the options a shot, so here are my favorites that I ordered twice: - Any of their salmon options - Garlic Ponzu Salmon Nigiri - Spicy Tuna Crunch Roll - Beef with Yakiniku sauce - Gooey Butter Cake As for it being a revolving sushi bar, It does get the job done and the concept itself is cool. I just don't think they are doing anything special.

Yelp
This place has a nice surprise when you eat specific number of plates. The ramen and edamame are pretty good. Hubby gets the nigiri, kids eat maki or appetizers. I love their specials and dessert. My kids love being able to order their food from the tablet and of course getting their prizes at the end!

Yelp
Haven't been to Kura for long time and really was craving it. Since we are around the area, why not. I still love the revolving sushi. The rice to fish ratio is a lot and the price are more expensive than I remember. The miso ramen is delicious, my daughter enjoyed it. My son finished everything he ordered: spicy crunchy taco, crunchy handroll and the seared wagyu. The dessert we ordered was good!! We did not wait for a table. Came in at 1145am. Plenty of table and parking.

Yelp
I'm not the biggest fan of kura in America. The fish isn't necessarily fresh & sushi is just meh. Came with a friend this time around. It's a good spot if you just want to try a little bit of everything. They had something seasonal which I really liked it was some kind of yuzu yellowtail, can't fully remember. This place can have a long wait & long line when it's prime lunch or dinner time. Parking is in a huge lot but can be tough during busy times x

Yelp
The staff was very friendly and nice, but every sushi roll we tried just tasted of mayonnaise. The nigiri was fresh and tasty though. The self serve tablet is mounted super high, and is hard to reach and I'm 5,5", good luck if you're shorter. It's also pretty difficult to read with progressive lenses. Overall this place seems entertaining/gimmicky for the revolving plates and robot waiters, but the food was just meh.

Yelp
Fun for my teens. Too fun that they kept getting plates out of the conveyor belt to get two toys! :) Food was good. I enjoyed my crab roll or whatever it's called. I love that they have that option and not just the fake food (imitation crab) that they put in California rolls. Service extended was minimal but staff were courteous and pleasant. I'm sure we'll be back here next time we're in the area; my daughter loves this place!

Yelp
The rotating sushi bar is always fun experience. The place has a giant conveyor belt running through it with some bar stool type seating up near the conveyor and then some tables. When I went in, the place wasn't all that crowded but I was seated at the far end of the conveyor belt so a lot of things weren't there by the time it got to me. Or perhaps there just wasn't that much being put out given the time. It was early dinner, around 5pm on a weekday so that's a but surprising. That said the sushi was decent and it's a fine way to get a variety of sushi. A few of the dishes weren't what they were labeled as. The service was a bit bizarre. They have an interface for extra ordering and drink refills that really isn't explained well. I hit the refill button and then was chastized by another server for not turning it off after my refill arrived. seems it would be quite trivial for the person bringing the drink to either remind you or turn it off themselves. Anyway, mixed experience. There's better sushi in town, but I may give it another shot at some point.

Yelp
We were very excited to come back here after our first amazing experience. We came at around 1pm for a late lunch. We signed in it said 15-25mins wait which was cool. After 15 minutes we got called so we checked in. The host told us that there was still 4 parties ahead of us but they had seats available where you sit next to each other which we didn't mind. Yeah dont sit at this tables. They were at the very end of the conveyer which means all the good food is gone by the time it gets to you. Their service was extremely slow. We called for a server twice, the first time we ended up canceling since it was taking them forever the next time we wanted specific premium to be ordered because there's nothing on the conveyer belt at this point and it took them 15 mins to get to our table. And when they got to our table their answer is they dont have those premium dishes so I told the server then why is it still on the conveyer belt if your sold out. He didn't have an answer ofcourse. This was very disappointing even then items we ordered from the kitchen was very rushed and wasn't cooked good. Idk I guess it's best to go when it's not busy. But their service was absolutely disappointing to say the least.

Yelp
Decent food, impersonal service, cafeteria type of atmosphere. I came here with my hubby and baby boy one evening. We did the mobile "stand in line" deal hoping to not have to wait too long. However, we still ended up waiting about 45 minutes after checking in an hour prior to our arrival. Once we got in, we were seated and our drink orders were taken. Service was very rushed and impersonal. I'm assuming it's because it's so stinking busy in there. However, it was no biggie for my crew. You order the food through the touch screens above the table. All the while, little plates of various sushi dishes are chugging along on a conveyor belt. The sushi was good. Not especially fresh or unique. But it was good. We also had karaage which was decent. Overall, I don't think I would return because there wasn't anything exceptional about this place.
google avatar

Elouise J.

Yelp
Kura has improved since the first few times we've visited. The conveyor belts are typically well stocked and it's easy to order from the tablet screen at the table. Service can be slow sometimes but only because of how busy this place gets. They add seasonal items to the menu which keeps things interesting and I appreciate the cooked options as well for those who can't eat raw fish. My favorites are the scallop nigiri and the crunch hand roll.
google avatar

Kari C.

Yelp
Went here for an early weekend lunch. Get there 5-10 minutes before they open or you'll be waiting with the crowds. We were seated quickly and service was efficient and friendly. The touchscreen ordering system was down for the first 10-15 minutes or so, as they were still setting up. You can always pick up items from the revolving belt. $3.95/plate. Plates go into a slot at the end of the table. 15 plates will get you a random prize. Here are a few items we tried this time: Snow crab gunkan - piled high with lots of fresh snow crab. No mayo. Kids loved it. We got 3 plates! Yuzu jalapeño sea bream nigiri - fresh, nicely flavored, not too spicy, no aftertaste. Would recommend this! Hand rolls (Cali with real crab, Eel, Soft Shell crab) - generously stuffed with fillings, these are a good deal. Each was just the cost of 1 plate. Cali crab has a ton of mayo though. Eel cuts weren't the best today. Kinda chewy and lots of small bones :( Crab was fresh and hot. Salmon nigiri with flavored oil - generous cuts, fresh, oil gives it a special touch. Tender, cut at an angle, pretty good quality. Salmon nigiri - actually looks better than the photo. Lighting is not the best. Has a slight musty flavor, noted in some farmed salmon. Doesn't mean it's not fresh. Kids liked it, but I wouldn't order this without the oil. Seared Salmon Belly Nigiri - very slightly fishy, flavor didn't mesh too well with the oil. Won't get again, said DH. Seared scallop with mayo - kinda small, but tasty and tender. Moderate torched flavors. DH and little one love this one. We got 2 plates. Yuzu Jalapeño Shrimp Nigiri - good size, but unfortunately, lots of preservative flavor, even with the seasonings. Not the best quality. Sadly, the robot that serves drinks wasn't running today. We had a $10 coupon from the app. Meal was well worth it for the price we paid, hence the 5 stars. This is NOT fancy sushi, but it's definitely better than supermarket sushi. And it's fun. Kids absolutely love this place, but it can be a bit overstimulating, lol.

Yelp
I honestly thought places like these only existed in high tourist areas!! Robots that bring you your drinks and an endless conveyor belt of sushi what could be better!? Such a fun experience and the sushi rolls were decent as well! If nothing on the belt suits your fancy they have a full menu that you can order off of. This was my first visit here but I can assure you it won't be my last!!

Yelp
This is my first time at this Kura location. I've been to the one in Cupertino before, but that was like 6 years ago. I love how they have so many great options for nigiri. The Sea Bream with Yuzu Pepper really stood out to me. The fish wasn't tough at all, and I probably ordered 3-4 plates of it lol. The Garlic Ponzu Salmon was also really good. I tried the Amaebi too, but I was a little disappointed it didn't have that sweet taste like the ones from other sushi spots. They also use 2 really small shrimp pieces per nigiri which was different. I also really love that they serve real wasabi instead of the powdered ones And every 15 plates you eat, you get a free little toy, which was pretty cool.
google avatar

Joe V.

Yelp
This place is pretty good and better yet, they sell real crab. My father has an imitation crab allergy and so he always has to order a roll with fresh crab for an extra charge but at this place he doesn't pay extra. The prices aren't outrages and you pay per plate. If you have a big family that likes to eat I would definitely go to this place. I think a booth might hold up to 6 people. The service depends on the person you get sometimes late service or really attentive people come your way but over all I like this place and will continue to support the establishment.
google avatar

Yelp
This Kura location is in the Pacific Pearl plaza. Parking may be hit or miss here, as this is a pretty busy plaza, especially on weeknights and weekends, but there is usually parking further away. Usually not a long line / wait here compared to their other locations in South Bay, so that is a plus. Sushi is decent for the price point, not the freshest, but it gets the job done for the convenience and experience. My go to sushi plates here are mostly just their salmon ones. I do a rotation of their Garlic Ponzu Salmon Nigiri, Salmon Nigiri, and Umami Oil Salmon Nigiri - I enjoy the garlic ponzu and plain salmon ones best . Sometimes I go for their Snow Crab California Hand Roll - Seaweed and Snow Crab California Hand Roll - Soy Paper ones as well, but I prefer the seaweed one over the soy paper one.

Yelp
A fun restaurant that is worth the time and money to go to. Happy to have this chain here in Dublin. This is a great place for family and friends since everyone can grab what they want easily. Each plate costs about $4. They also serve ramen bowls too for about $11. Prices have gone up recently, however the recent visit I had I noticed that the quality and quantity increased. The fish tasted fresher and the cuts were bigger. I would suggest getting the app to join waitlist early and to collect rewards. It also helps with payment too.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying that my first ever experience here was phenomenal. We were so overwhelmed by the selection of sushi and appetizers offered at this conveyer belt sushi spot! It really is such a fun experience grabbing food off the conveyer and eating enough plates to trigger a prize from the overhead bin. I want to say each plate is around $3 or so dollars, so as fun as it is to be grabbing several things to try, be mindful about how the price may add up. Between my husband and I, on a good day, we probably eat around 20 plates or so, including some of the hot items that are made to order. Is it the best sushi we've ever had? By all means, no. But it's a decent choice if you want to get your money's worth and try a variety of different rolls. Because of the conveyer belt service, you don't get much interaction from the server besides the beginning when you're being seated, or at the end when you retrieve the bill. There's a good amount of seating available, so they can take quite a few parties at once. However, weekends are usually pretty busy so expect to wait a bit before being seated. I do have to say that depending on where you're seated, you may have trouble getting certain rolls you want to try, especially if you're seated near the area where the conveyer returns back to the kitchen. This is because other parties may get to the rolls first. But no fret, just order from the monitor above your table and you'll be able to get those dishes no problem! Again, not the best sushi quality, but it IS an experience that you should try at least once.

Yelp
We came here for their One Piece theme since my son loves it so much. We thought it would be crowded but we got to sit fine within 5 minutes. We came right on time because the crowd started coming in. The revolving concept is so much fun, especially for kids. My son was enamored by the options and throwing the plate in the slot to reach 15 plates for a prize. The staff there were also very nice and took their time with us to explain everything. We enjoyed the food as well. We ended up ordering some hot food and reached 22 plates from the bar! It's a bigger restaurant with ample space and lots of chatter. A bonus for bring family-friendly. We look forward to going back. My son loved the popcorn chicken & I liked the wagyu beef & nigiri options.

Yelp
Second time visiting but first time taking my 10-year old niece who limits her sushi to tempura roll and a CA roll! Nothing wrong with that but the conveyer belt concept definitely got her to trying other items. She was intrigued and excited about being able to order dishes and ask for refills from a screen at your table. I had to remind her "what you take you have to eat!". She now has a tiger roll and tamago sushi added to her list of faves. Food was fresh, delicious and a great way to sample various items...one can get a bit overzealous as you do want to try everything! And when you have food passing by (even when you're at that breaking point) you manage to squeeze in one more item Staff (Brian and Lizbeth) friendly, attentive, professional...best time to visit is a weeknight so not as busy and chaotic. Place is clean, organized with plenty of lot parking. Be sure to save room for dessert as some delicious options a couple doors down. Located in the strip mall across from the Livermore Outlets with 99 Ranch Market

Yelp
Food is good. Service is terrible. Nobody checked on us and when we asked for water they told us to order it on the screen and then also that's how we would get our wasabi. The wasabi given wasn't all that green and it didn't have much of a kick. Ambiance is fun, vibrant and loud.

Yelp
Went to Kura sushi for lunch after shopping at the outlet mall. We got seated within ten minutes and quickly went in to the serious business of grabbing all the sushi from the conveyor belt. We have a special menu so we ordered them through the touch pad. Our server was amazing and very helpful. They have variety of seating arrangements, for big family to someone eating by themselves. Will return!

Yelp
Had a great experience here again during the reserve day. Show up early, use the computer systems secret mode to order the special items. Ambiance is buzzing and crowded as usual, but not jam packed.

Yelp
I haven't had Kura sushi in a while so I came here for dinner time with no reservation and was seated immediately. The service was good, the restaurant was fairly clean, but the food quality was not the best. The sushi tasted really fishy, the freshness was not there compared to other Kura locations. The soda machine was also flat, but they refunded us for the drink. I got indigestion after eating here because the food quality was low. I would just go to a Japanese restaurant next time for the same price of the Kura bill.

Yelp
We decided to come try Kura Revolving Sushi bar tonight. Luckily there wasn't a line of people waiting outside like usual. We were greeted and I saw a whole bunch of booths surrounding a revolving conveyor belt carrying yummy sushi. The waiter asked us if it was our first time and we said yes so he said he would come to back to give us instructions. So each sushi on the menu is available on the conveyor belt, everything else from the ramen to hot entrees and hand rolls can be ordered from the screen which is pretty cool. It comes out to you on another conveyor belt conveniently on top. It was such an experience since you get to try all kinds of sushi but wow watch out as you can get carried away (which we did) and ended up grabbing a lot of plates. So much that we were to get a prize by inserting our plates into the machine slot. So fun! Service was great as the waiters were attentive with refilling our waters but let's be real we were serving ourselves! lol oh I did also like that they had signs of each of the sushi as it was coming down. Cool touch! I would say the sushi is okay. It wouldn't be one of our normal spots to go to but I'm glad we were able to try it. Come if you want to experience a fun sushi revolving bar!

Yelp
Went here for a Valentine's day dinner with my boyfriend. They don't take reservations, so when you go in you have to put yourself on the waitlist. We waited about an hour- hour thirty until we got seated. Knowing it was busy because it is a holiday, I expected service to be slower. Ordering food from the screen was super fun! I was watching the sushi go by me and they all looked so delicious. My boyfriend eats a lot so he was racking up the plates pretty quick haha. Sushi is ok, 6/10 quality, but it is expected at a place like this. This is more for the experience rather than eating good quality fish. Don't come here if you are super hungry though because your bill can go up quite quick if you eat a lot lol.

Yelp
This is my first time trying Kura Sushi and I'm happy that I did. I've been to revolving sushi bars before and expected small plates of sushi charged at different prices depending on what type you order. At this location, that is not the case. Relatively the same price, the sushi and the food here is good. There are different cold plates, nigiri, rolls, and the like. Some plates are charged more (the hot plates). Everything I had was fresh and made to order. Ordering is a little bit of a pain though, because you need to use the tablet that hovers above your head. After a number of items, the screen shows a fun animation that rewards you with a mystery keychain. Fun. As for the service, they were very helpful and attentive. My favorite nigiri is the octopus, umami oil beef and seared salmon toro. I would definitely recommend this sushi restaurant.

Yelp
It's been such a long time since we ate at this place. I can vividly remember how sushi selections were plentiful and nigiris come in pairs of 2 each order. Now, you are lucky to get the sushi you wanted without actually ordering it from their table kiosk. The belts were looking a bit empty. Anyway, the prices have risen up quite a bit and their servings became on a smaller size. This place can seat 4 people max per table so you can easily grab from the belt. The atmosphere were enticing with the slew of sushi containers passing you by. Though some of their sushi were lacking, some were still good. I like their ebi (sweet shrimp) nigiri, uni (sea urchin), and unagi (eel). They were fresh and flavorful. These ones were most of the repeated orders we kept coming back to. We wanted our little one to experience this place as he was curious on how sushi belts/trains work. He had a good time looking at the sushis that passed him by (especially the ones we ordered that sped by on top) and how he can deposit used plates tableside. It also amazed him that he gets a prize every certain amount of plates deposited. We came here on a very rainy Saturday, but was seated right away. Our bill was eye opening, expensive for a group of 4 and good thing we only come here once in a blue moon T_T

Yelp
Kura conveyor belt sushi, nice for a quick bite to eat and an easy way for parents to make dining out fun for young children. Minimal wait time during the earlier part of the week but the wait time can get much longer the closer you get to the weekend. Food is your standard conveyor belt sushi fare and is fresh and reasonably priced for 2025. If you want to skip the nigiri, their poke bowl is also pretty good, nice generous helpings of real crab and raw fish will fill you right up. Would recommend for quick bite to eat or if you have young children.

Yelp
Robots and conveyor belts, and sushi and ramen! If you're looking for an entertaining element to your dining experience, definitely check out Kura. With the kids into sushi and ramen more nowadays, this was a hit with our family. A robot brings out drinks, you can grab sushi plates from a conveyor belt, and order from an expanded menu via an iPad. It's definitely a a fun time for the kids!

Yelp
Such a fun experience. We love coming here for their handrolls. Their negotiating handroll is my favorite. Once in a while the rolls' seaweed comes soggy which sucks. The staff is super friendly and helpful when you need them. They've improved on the smell (it used to smell like wet towel).

Yelp
Came on a Saturday evening with my family, food was okay, male head server was rude and expected us to know everything on our first try. Totally put us off from wanting to go back

Yelp
It's great for a fun experience grabbing the sushi as it's revolving! The sushi was okay I was not WOWED but if you haven't tried I would still go and try it out because of the experience

Yelp
Fresh food, great service, highly recommend making reservations on weekends. Also, best to go a few hours early if you want scallops. They usually sell out pretty fast.

Yelp
This was my first time at a revolving sushi bar and I found the experience to be pleasant. I'm not huge on sushi, but I really enjoyed food here, especially the seared scallop Japanese mayo. I must've had 3-4 plates of that alone. Another favorite of mine was the snow crab! I love that you can either grab the rolls of the conveyor belt or order your favorite rolls on the screen. You don't have to talk to staff to get your food unless you need a water refill. My only issue is that the bill stacks up quickly without you even knowing sometimes. The food tasted so good that I just kept grabbing more plates until I felt too full to stuff myself more. My stomach was happy until I saw the bill, but that's just something to work on for my next visit. Also, this location is in a big plaza so parking is easy and there's two dessert places next door for some dessert! Overall, I had a delicious and fun first time at a revolving sushi bar and am looking forward to returning with more self-control haha!

Yelp
This is pay by plates revolving sushi . The sushi are inexpensive but fresh . It comes in smaller portions so I can eat more different types of sushi plates . I have been to the same brand in Cupertino a few years ago . The one in Livermore has better quality of fish and service . We have been to the one in San Diego as well and they are equally good. We don't like to wait so we arrived at 11:30 am on a Weekday. As soon as we sit down , the restaurant are almost full within 20 minutes . I like that now I can buy the cute miniature toys for $4.5 instead of eating 15 plates of sushi . That is a great options for those with smaller appetites.

Yelp
Not much service needed. Order everything on the iPad, including water and closing out the bill. Server will bring all drinks order. Sushi order will arrive in the conveyer or pick up whatever looks good on the rotating conveyer. I forgot to take pictures. Sushi didn't look great but when you're hungry and plates were reasonable price then it's good for what it is. Sushi was hit/miss for freshness. I will not visit again.

Yelp
I love sushi and I love the vibes of Kura Revolving Sushi Bar. I've visited other locations but this was my first time visiting the Pleasanton location. This location had a good number of tables that fit larger groups. We had 5 adults and 2 kids in our group during our visit and we were able to fit in one table. I don't remember which table we sat at but by the time the sushi came around to us, most plates were empty so we mostly ordered on the iPad. Sometimes our sushi took a little longer to come on the conveyor belt but the revolving sushi bar kept us occupied. The sushi selection was good if you like raw fish but if you're not a raw sushi fan then there's only a few different cooked rolls. I only give it 4 stars because it's pretty much self serve with the revolving sushi bar and no one really checked if we needed refills on our drinks.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 5/5 Will be coming back here because the dishes were fresh and definitely tasty! if you've not been here before, they have little plates of food inside a tiny dome that you have to open to grab your place all while the dishes travel on a revolving sushi conveyor belts. don't worry if you don't know what's coming by your way. There is a sign next to the dishes that tells you what's what. Sometimes the domes are empty (which means someone has grabbed a plate or two). but never worry; the come back! they do, I promise. If you have a shellfish or seafood allergy they do have stuff on a menu that you can order other food you are able to eat like chicken or beef... they also have Miso Soup if your jonesing for some soup to accompany your sushi. Every 15 blue and white plates you put down the lil plate slide on the table, you get a gift-egg with a surprise inside. we went Sunday 11/17 around 1pm or so and their promo for the egg gifts are Pikmin (if you're familiar). we did 30 plates so we got two gift eggs with popsockets inside! free soda and tea refills... We didn't wait for a table as we were sat immediately when we walked in. Great start to a wonderful lunch!

Yelp
Came here for the One Piece situation that's going on- unfortunately, all the special menu item was already sold out (sadness!). It was Saturday around 5:30pm when we went and we waited for about half an hour after joining the waiting list. We were lucky enough to get the seasonal items on the menu and they were delicious! Everything is regular Kura Sushi standard lol no complaints! Special shout out to Jun - super friendly, nice and attentive. Thanks for being awesome!

Yelp
The coolest experience for kids. My granddaughter was excited to come here for the revolving sushi plates. We arrived around 4:30 on a Sunday and there was no wait but it quickly got busy. We were greeted at the podium and seated immediately. The service was decent. The wait staff gave us a tutorial on how to use the kiosk at our table and how to open the sushi box on the conveyor belt. It is a great family restaurant, several children were present. We will be back!!!!

Yelp
This place was an interesting experience! I will say the experience is mostly for show, it is quite expensive and super busy! They had to even close the restaurant early for the day, and i imagine some guests were pushed off the waiting list at the time. They closed around 2:30PM on a saturday even though the hours indicated that they close later in the day, not sure if they reopened soon after some time. The food is pretty expensive for what you get, it's $3.75 a plate and after 15 plates you get a prize. The beef udon and tantanmen were decent, just small in size and they were about $11-13 a bowl. Definitely preferable size for someone with a smaller appetite. Overall the experience was really nice, however it gets super busy and the wait time is usually 30-75 minutes. They do have a messaging system, so you could go shopping and probably come back. Parking is decent, it is a busy plaza but there is plenty of parking in the area. The experience is interesting, but probably wouldn't come here consistently.
