Cool robot sushi franchise straight from Japan! Absolute BEST Shrimp Tempura I have ever had! The shrimp was hot and crispy and properly battered. Most importantly it was completely deveined! No other local sushi or Japanese restaurant has properly deveined their Shrimp Tempura as far as I have sampled. The Maguro Bluefin Tuna Sushi was the proper color, no smell at all, and was actually COLD on top of the rice! The New York Cheesecake bites were aldo served cold. The Taiyaki Ice Cream alone was worth the visit. The Miso Soup was good as well. BEST Japanese food I have had!

Google
Such a cool experience! I can only usually eat 1 roll of sushi and this let me have my 1 roll but all different types in their small plate converbelt sushi. My kids loved the drink robot and their meals delivered in all sorts of ways. Definitely recommend if in area!

Wow. I am stunned. This is the best and most fresh sushi I've had in the Sac area. My daughter had several of the king crab leg nigiris and commented that they tasted like the ocean. She's never said that about any other sushi nor any other time she had crab! The seared salmon was perfectly seared. The temperature of the sushi was remarkably perfect. The miso soup tasted more balanced and savory than 99% of the ones I've had over my lifetime. Even the rice was perfectly cooked. How can one not love the conveyor belts, the touch-screen ordering system with additional conveyor belt delivery, robot beverage service, clean and fun ambiance, and friendly and attentive staff? My daughter was so thrilled when a surprise trinket rolled down practically right in front of her face 😆. We can't wait to come back!

I will open with saying that the food was good for cheap sushi. With that said, every item is 10 to 20 cents more than the Sacramento location even though the quality is worse. Now my real issue: the staff and the restaurant system. My friend and I are two rather small women who both have good but hard careers. She works in medical and I work in news. We decided we would eat at Kura Roseville due to how much I enjoy the Sacramento location near my workplace. We were NOT greeted by anyone at the door. In fact, at that moment, it seemed like staff wasn't there. We watched a man who came in right behind us just go and sit down as we looked for a staff member, so we eventually did the same. It is worth noting that there was a blank iPad at the entrance, however, we did ignore it at the time. After that, we simply had a good time for a bit. We each had about three plates when I ordered a water, hoping for the robot. There was not only no robot, but then a staff member came and explained that because we weren't seated, we didn't have a ticket due to how their system works. That's fine! We made a ticket then and there and apologized for the issue. We didn't have any idea and there was no staff around. Well, after that very nice girl made us a ticket, a different woman brought me the water instead of a robot and then claimed we hadn't made a ticket (I told her twice that we literally had just made the ticket with the other girl), and then heavily implied that we were trying to eat for free. She and three others, all large women including herself, stood at the end of our row and stared at us for the next 15 minutes. Where was this staff when we entered and why do they have the time to stand around doing nothing but threatening guests? And if the system is so broken that people regularly eat for free (as admitted by the rude woman with the water) so much that staff needs to threaten normal guests, why is your staff not positioned where they should be in order to stop the entire issue? Needless to say, we got out of there after only spending $11 each after tax, NO TIP. First place I've ever not tipped in my life. It was also the first time I was ever profiled and felt threatened in a restaurant. Really disappointing, as I LOVE the Sac location

Google
Staff is polite and nice. Little pricey but the food quality is way up there and the place feels like an operating room for how clean it is. Honestly my favorite sushi/japanese spot in the area. You can also order food fresh and it does take a minute to show up but its also absurdly good

Google
A fun causal lunch or dinner date sushi place! The only reason it’s not a 5 star is because if you want top notch sushi there are better places in town. It was a fun atmosphere, good prices, and will definitely come back again.

Google
This place was so fun! We went for a work lunch and it was such a great departure from the norm. All the sushi we tried was delicious, you can take from the conveyor belt or order fresh. The robots delivering drinks might be my favorite part 😍 I'll definitely be going back!

Google
My family loves Kura! The sushi is fresh and Kura's offers a lot of different options. I love their Ramen, house made noodles soooooo yummers 😋

Yelp
Walkable distance to Hyatt hotel and next to lazy dog , also walkable to Roseville Westgate gallerias. Definitely convenient location for travelers. Outside does not have much appealing sign , really like the wooden ceiling -- a little Japanese tone here. Walked in without reservations around 6:30pm Friday night, able to input our names down and been seated in less than 10 mins. The waitress took our drink order right away and cold drinks delivered by the cute robot, and hot tea delivered by person. Kids really enjoyed its Eel hand roll, it is a great Japanese roll place but not the authentic/ expensive kind. As that as standard, we really enjoyed its food, also the business model , 15 dishes for the first prize ball, then 25 dishes for the second prize ... kids are excited to put dishes in the counting down towards the prizes. It is just a little hard to our stomach/ pocket ;) . But the fun worth the choice for family/ friends gathering. Also, their promotion tote is cute. Definitely great choice for fast Japanese rolls.

Yelp
I saw this place on a content creators page and was like ok we have to go here. We had no idea what to expect and getting checked in to the place is kind of confusing, but once one of the waiters saw we were still waiting outside he helped us, very friendly service. This is a great place to try many different rolls without having to get the whole roll as they come out in 3 pieces. It just goes around and around and you grab what you want, so crazy! We loved this place. There is a robot that brings you your drinks, how cool is that!?You can even order from the menu and it shoots right down to you, pretty cool place. Very friendly, sushi was good, can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Every time I visit this restaurant there's a line. The sushi does its job. It's not bad, but It's very gimmicky with games. I had 25 plates and the total was $116.

Yelp
Love that we have a Kura so close by now! Fun to just grab a booth, see items traveling by on the belts, grab a few dishes, send our empty dishes in the slots and be on our merry way. We like going during off peak times to avoid crowds and long waits. The two times we went, there was no wait and the experience was terrific. Menu isn't quite as vast as some locations (we got a hibiscus soda in the SoCal location) but decent. Only downside is it's pretty expensive, but I guess you're paying for the convenience and the experience. Ramen to us was not worth it. Pricey and not that great. Stick to the sushi. Love that they had a teacher discount during Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you Kura for supporting educators. :) Fun experience and good place to get a sushi fix.

Yelp
Drinks are not noticed when you order them on the tablet. Food is quick tho. Super fresh.

Yelp
Honestly, I wanted to like this place :( the staff was very friendly. We sat down got one roll off the conveyor belt, which was steak. It was nasty. I had ordered a cucumber salad. It tasted like old salt water. We were hoping that a good looking roll would eventually come around on the conveyor belt, but nothing looks fresh so we decided to get up and go to another sushi restaurant. The best part about this place was the cute little robot that brought you your wasabi and drinks.

Yelp
Decent sushi, mostly have to order from menu but delivered on the belt. Yeah, go for it!

Raymond C.

Yelp
We go to this place regularly. Last time we went here for the Kiby promotion, spend $85 and you will get a set of cups. The promotion started on 12/1, so we think that they should still have plenty of Kiby cups. After we finish eating and pay $130, we were told that they don't have the cups anymore, but we just saw another table just got the cups and they didn't even pay yet, they are still eating. We ask why they got the cups even though they hasn't pay yet but no answer. So we walk out with a very disappointed kid.

Yelp
Quality sushi at a good price. It's always a fun time for all the sushi lovers. I recommend ordering the eel fresh, salmon toro, scallops, albacore, and the crispy rice with crab. You need to order the taiyaki for dessert. The butter cake is decent but very sweet. The service is good, fast, and friendly. Ambiance is good. Everything was clean. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We've been to the Kura in Sac and wanted to try out the Roseville location. It's located by Lazy Dog but further back more. Tried to join the waitlist online but says it doesn't work. We walked in on a Friday evening and surprisingly there was no wait. Checked in and got seated in a booth. The first thing we noticed was how freezing cold it was! Makes sense since there's sushi moving on their belts so better knowing the interior is cold instead of hot. The waiter asked if we've been there before and since we said yes, he didn't have to explain how the plates and ordering worked. We started ordering right away. Got some udons, nigiri, and rolls. We prefer to order from the menu instead of grabbing from the revolving belt, as some items taste fresher, like the seared nigiris. And the kids loved watching food come through on the faster delivery conveyor belt. Of the items we got, our favorites were the udon, charbroiled mackerel, seared beef with yakinuki, and seared eel with cream cheese. The location feels new and clean and service was great. We noticed how prices have definitely increased since we've last been to a Kura. Depending on how much you order, you might spend the same as an AYCE. We still had a good time and will come back one day. Don't forget to sign up for the rewards app and earn those points!

Yelp
Very fun experience. The food is good for the prince you are paying and there are many options to choose from. Great place to try out if revolving sushi is in your interests.

Yelp
I can't describe how happy my family and I were to find out that there was a Kura sushi bar in the area! We're new to Roseville and one of the first spots we need to try was this Kura sushi spot. If you're familiar to Kura - this place is fantastic and I would say even better than most! Compared to little Tokyo in LA and the other location in Ontario, sushi was just as delicious if not tastier, place was cleaner, had more seating, never had to wait long (or at all), and customer service was just as fantastic as the other locations. Parking is generous right out front. Their ball releasing machines actually worked! May not be important to some, but my kids' eyes glow with excitement whenever we hit a 15 mark plate return just to see a ball roll down the mechanics with some fun animated scene. Our favorites dishes to order (of course get whatever suits your preference) - salmon, blue fin toro, yellowtail, urchin, takoyaki, eel, shishito peppers, udon with beef (for the toddlers), albacore, seared salmon with miso cream, and anything "toro" just to name a few. If you're new here, don't fret! Ask the friendly staff what to do and they're always very willing to help. Just stay clear of the robots so they can do their job well with delivering you drinks or other items. If ordering from the touch screen, stay sharp and be ready to grab your dishes from the belt so others can keep their orders coming as well. Hands down one of the better Kura spots we've been to. Extremely happy this is so close to home! Take your date, take your friend, take your family, go alone - whatever suits you. Kura is a safe and fun place for all!

Yelp
Kids were heading back to school so wanted to have a special lunch out. I had been wanting to try this place after hearing others talk about it. Super neat/clean inside. Great human service and great robot service lol. We loved picking things to try off the belt and also ordered several items off the menu. Everything was fresh and tasty. Can't wait to return .

Yelp
On a Saturday evening, we decided to check out Kura since it gets so much hype. As we arrived, there were already a crowd waiting on the outside patio area. We used the tablet to get in line and we waited about 20 minutes to get seated. Once we got inside, we were surprised how cold it was. So we quickly ordered some green tea to heat ourselves up. It was pretty easy to order/pick up food items as we ordered at least 10 plates of goodies, from fatty tuna belly to charred octopus. Most items tasted decent and the portions were rather small. To our surprise, wasabi wasn't on the table with the ginger and soy sauce so we had to ask the waiter for it. Out of all the items we tried, my favorite items were the shrimp tempura udon, vegetable tempura, bluefin belly, jalapeño shrimp, and the taiyaki ice cream. They were quite yummy and I would totally order them again. Overall, the experience was alright. The food was decent but the initial wait was long, from the line to getting wasabi. It was understandable as the servers were overwhelmed. The food did come out pretty fast and the check out was fast (self-check out via phone). Also we didn't get to play the game, was that normal lol?

Yelp
We've been enjoying our meals since day one. The sushi is fresh and well presented. I prefer ordering from kiosk no sushi belt. Just my preference. Service is helpful and nice when called upon. We've ordered via DD delivery as well. Still just as good! Please note: bring a light sweater, hoodie or jacket. They keep in pretty chilly in there which I like. Keeps it from getting stuffy.

Yelp
What a fun way to enjoy good eats and time with amazing friends It's a little trendy but it's clean and the robot server is very very polite!

Yelp
We first tried Kura in the Bay Area. We also went to the one in Sacramento, and now we finally have it in Roseville. We usually go on weekday nights, so not sure how busy they are on weekends. Their sushi have a good fish to rice ratio. I love their grilled mackerel sushi. We order it from the ipad, so it's warmer. If the sushi is not available on the revolving bar, just order it on the ipad. They also habe a fancy robot that delivers the drink. Their rice bowls and ramen are not bad, but for the price, I would just stick with the sushi/rolls. Overall, very good experience.

Yelp
My kid and I came around 5:45pm and only waited for 5 minutes before seated. The staffs were very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. The staff said that they were just opened a week before my visit in May. We were seated at the middle of the restaurant and could get all of our favorite rolls from the belt despite the restaurant was being full. As usual, the robot delivered our water which was exciting for my kid. The sushi were good and fresh. Some of them were bigger size than the other location imo. I ordered my favorite spider roll soy wrap from the iPad but got wrong item and the server corrected my order immediately. Another exciting part was putting in all the plates into the counter & see the small prize rolled out from the jar. I think you get a prize for every 15 plates. By the time we exited the restaurant, there were a lot of people waiting outside. So do come early if you don't want to wait for too long.

Yelp
The service is fantastic. This place is so cool. The food is good. My son and i had the best time here. They even have the japanese toilets. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I love this place, food is great and it's lots of fun. Staff is friendly, you get to order your food and not wait on the waiter/waitress

Yelp
This location is the Best Kura Revolving Sushi Bar I've been to out of at least 6 different cities and states. All the other ones I've been to have been the same at around 3 1/2 to 4 stars. This was a far better treat than my group expected. I'm not sure how they do it here, but the food taste more fresh, tasteful, and the service is better too. My favorites are the hand rolls and just the massive variety to meet everyone's interest. It's always fun going to Kura with a group because everyone can share and if someone picks the wrong dish, it only costs a fraction of the cost vs. other sushi restaurants. Every 5 dishes dropped into the slot shows a video and every 15 dishes gives a free Trinket surprise in a ball. If we didn't find a dish on the conveyor belt, we were able to order dishes through the touchscreen menu. The pictures on the menu are also very helpful. Dishes arrived 5-10 minutes later with only one arriving 15 minutes later. There's a cute robot that drops off beverages. This location has lots of parking and accessible with a ramp.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a fun cute place to go with friends or family! I like the fact we can pick and choose what sushi you want going around. Portions are small enough to get a few things to try. They have both cooked and raw sushi. They even have hot items such udon, ramen, and fried appetizers. If there's something you want and it's not out then they will make it for you! Service was good. They had a nice selection of desserts like mochi ice creams and a cute Taiyaki fish with Red bean paste. It was my first time going to any of the Kura sushi bars and I thought it was a fun place to check out!

Yelp
Somewhere between casual dining and fast casual [Roseville CA] Came to dine at this location for the first time. There is a kiosk (tablet) to place your name on the waitlist immediately on the right as soon as you enter the door. Our wait time was between 45 to 75 mins, party of 3. The building looks very modern with a nice architectural design but the floor plan inside looks odd especially with seating immediately at the entrance that's why they make everyone wait outside. Further inside are sectioned in numbered booths that seats up to 4 each. The concept is fun with very little interaction from a server. A revolving sushi bar circulates on a conveyor belt with various sushi offerings and you just grab what you like. They also offer noodles, tempura, sides and dessert. Drinks are placed from tablets at each booth or counter spaces and Kur-B, the robot, delivers them tableside. Unfortunately, I didn't find too many items that I liked from the menu. We didn't reach 15 plates (to win a prize). Most of the items we chose from we ordered from the tablet and once prepared, they were sent zipping down the express conveyer belt directly to our table... these don't count for the prize. Prices range from $3.60 and up for that option, and include everything from gyoza to tempura to ramen and desserts. Two pieces of Shrimp Tempura was $8.70 yikes! This is my second time dining at a Kura location. I've tried the one at Arden. This location is in the same area as Lazy Dog, Eureka and La Popular and is next to the Hyatt Place. 3.5 Stars for the food and experience. Review #3469

Yelp
I'd seen this chain in other cities but never tried it because it seemed to always be too long of a wait to get in. Finally tried it this past weekend and it was a pretty fun and interesting experience, but food was mediocre for the price of $3.75 - $6.00 per dish. There was not an easy way I could find to put my party down on the list before heading there so we were worried if we would have to wait a while. Luckily when we got there, there were only a couple of parties ahead of us and the wait was about 10 minutes. I did not like how when we slid into our booth, the vinyl seats were extra, extra wet from being wiped down. My pants were damp the whole time we dined and it was not enjoyable to sit that way. Ordering drinks from the tablet did not work and a server had to come and take our drink order. The lemonade tasted weird. With all of the dishes coming by on the conveyer, about 70% of them were empty. The sushi did not seem very fresh and tasted just ok. Silver linings: Ice cream donut dessert was good. We did get a toy dispensed after inserting 15 plates. $70 total for 2 people before tip - it was a cool experience to try once but don't think we'd be back, would prefer to go to our usual favorite sushi spot nearby and spend the same amount on better tasting sushi the traditional way.

Yelp
Drove a long while away. The beef udon was amazing. The noodles were soft although not very chewy, and flavors were savory. The beef was a little hard to chew. I also found a piece of clear plastic in the noodles which sucked. Overall the whole dish was solid, and it reminded me of the quality in San Francisco; it's very nice that this place is much closer. The price was surprisingly cheap for a bowl of noodles, and a roll. Roughly $15. It's truly a steal. Edit: Okay found out the $15 total was just due to a promotional discount when I ordered a second time lol, their usual is more pricey. The taste of the food is good though.

Yelp
Came here for early dinner. The place is cute and cozy. We liked the robot who delivers drinks. Its cute. Was really hoping for a better experience than we had. We've been to Kura in Sac and had a better experience than here. The service was great, just the quality of the food wasn't there. It's not good if I feel that supermarket sushi is better. Some of the fish looked sketch. We weren't about to touch a Maguro nigiri and others did too as it spun around forever. Even the rolls weren't very appetizing. Glad we tried it and it'll be a surprise if we return.
google avatar

Doug G.

Yelp
I tried Kura Sushi the other night. It was pretty good. My order consisted of Salmon Toro - Salmon Belly on their Specialty Rice and Tuna Nigiri. Both were delicious... fresh and flavorful and would order again. The Ten Jyu was just OK - Chicken, Shishito and Shrimp Tempura. Not enough meat / fish. My Umami Cucumber Salad made for a nice side dish. Finally, the Watermelon made for a super finale. Prices were very competitive.

Yelp
Great spot for a second location in the Greater Sacramento Area! I used to go to the Arden location every so often until I moved, so I was excited to see this Roseville one open! I liked the uniquely shaped store front architecture, and parking was easy. For Arden, I usually use the Kura app to join the waitlist ahead of time, but because this location is new, I think they're not participating just yet. As you enter, there is a kiosk to add your name, number of guests, and phone number to the waiting list to be texted when your table is ready. I opted to ask the hostess if I could sit at the sushi bar and was able to do so right away. The bar seating is right up front, so a little uncomfortable with people coming in and out right behind you and the sun beaming so strongly through the window. Maybe they can get some type of window shade system. Ordering is easy and all done via the touch screen. Order your drink first, and the Kurabot robot will deliver it. I personally like to order using the Express Belt and not wait for the sushi that I want to float by on the converyor belt. To be honest, I don't think the sushi is that good. It's only okay but I go more for the experience. Also, it's convenient to order little by little until full, so at least for me, there is no overspending or leftovers. My main go-to picks are Golden Crunchy Roll, Crunchy Hand Roll, and Eel Hand Roll. My absolute FAVORITE thing and my driving factor to go to Kura is the yummy Japanese Style Soy Milk Donut dessert that comes with ice cream! Those fried donut things are so delicious! I also really like their Seasme Balls too! It was pretty cool that everything was automated and only interacted with staff when initially seated. You place your dishes in the slot when finished. You can also do self-check out at the end using a QR code with your phone. I like the Kura chain and their consistency with food and service. I recommend the seamless in and out experience. P.s. I was surprised they actually had fancy Toto Japanese toilets in the restroom! Automatic seat lid opening/closing and warmed toilet seat. I wasn't brave enough to press any of the buttons on the stall wall, though, haha.

Yelp
If there is a line outside make sure you sign in at the kiosk! You will put in your info and they will text you when it's ready.I signed in at it said 45-75 minutes but the wait was actually only 20 minutes so I'd definitely recommend to wait even if it says it's a long time! They have booths for larger parties and single seats as well. The single seats were plus size friendly! I was pleasantly surprised with the food quality and presentation! You can pick anything off the belt or even order items from the screen in front of you. It was nice that the items that were on the belt kept changing so the options seemed endless. The service was great as well. Someone was there to greet us, seat us, and even explain how everything works. They serve Coke products here! And if you want a refill just hit the green call button on the screen! Sometimes a little robot will even bring your drinks. Pricing is pretty much 3.60 a plate but there are a couple items that are different like the donuts with ice cream I believe was 6.00. Overall I would say outstanding especially for a soft opening! I will be coming back!

Yelp
Went to Kura today at 5pm on a Saturday. It was overall a great experience. We have a 9yo son and he loved the atmosphere of the place. The robot bringing out drinks was cool. The ability to order food directly to the table if it's not on the conveyor belt was very convenient. The price was not outrageous. My only criticism would be the cuts of fish are very thin. All in all a good trip.
google avatar

Katt M.

Yelp
This was my third experience at a Kura restaurant. My favorite by far. Some have been very crowded and squishy. This one was nicer. It has space for the cute robot drink server and a person in the aisles. I think it's fun to grab food as it goes by on the conveyor. There was a large and varied selection, plus I could have ordered off their menu, but I was too full. A human server was attentive in checking to see if we needed anything. I liked everything that I pulled down to eat, which was waaaaay more than I would have eaten at a normal Japanese restaurant. The food was fresh and presented well on the little plates. The plate deposit slot made it less easy to track how many dishes I ate, but it made the dining experience much more enjoyable. I will definitely go back whenever I am in town!

Yelp
Well weekends are always a loOong wait.. so make sure you're not too hungry when you go here! The place is nice, restrooms is clean and staff are friendly (that's for the 3 stars) Food are okay. And most plates 3 sushi for the price of $3.85++? There's better sushi place that I think that's good and better than this restaurant. If you want to try the "revolving" experience go for it.

Yelp
Really bummed to make this updated review! I go to Kura often, but my experience tonight really missed the mark. We checked in via the app and was presented with a 15 minute wait time. After over 35 minutes, we got the text to check in with the host. When we did so, we were told "be with you in a bit" as the host walked past us. After this, the host proceeded to let the other folks who had came in after us their place in line, and didn't end up coming back to check in with us. After we were seated, our host ordered the water & wasabi for us. Neither ended up showing up to our table, while other tables around us received them. We also did not receive plates for soy sauce. When we called someone over to get them, we were told "we're out." We asked if there was an alternative, like a small bowl, which we were eventually given. The real concern comes with the cold sake we ordered. One glass was cracked, with lots of residue on the inside of the glass. The other had a huge lipstick print on the box. When the host came to the table, the response we got for our concerns was not genuine. The host left, then came back to tell us that he could bring us a second round. By this time though, we had already eaten and were going to leave. I really liked Kura, but this experience definitely was eye-opening!

Yelp
Going to this joint for the first time was like an adventure and brought me back to the Japanese restaurants I went to when we lived in Japan. Sushi "nigiri" are all the same price and go around a conveyor, covered to keep it fresh. There are labels too so you know what you're getting. There's also a computer screen to order something else other than what's on the conveyor. I had miso soup which was authentic delicious. There's a robot to bring water and wasabi to the table when you first sit down. There's a call button for the server if needed on the computer screen. My only disappointment was the size of the fish, very thin and more rice on the nigiri. Nice place, good ambiance. They have the Japanese heated toilets along with a bidet!! Quite the experience here...

Yelp
Great food and service. It was our first time and the staff were very helpful explaining the process. The food on the belt was amazing. The rotation they had was consistent and if you wanted to try something but it was empty, it definitely will be on the next rotation. It is also nice that anything specific you wanted, could be ordered on the tablet and will be sent down on the belt. Very clean and attentive staff. So welcoming. Also what was really cool, the drinks are brought by a robot. Be wary of the amount of plates you grab ($3.70 per plate) as it can add up but definitely worth it.

Yelp
Ok, we had such a good time here. We thought we would give it a try since we have never experienced conveyor belt sushi and Kura did not disappoint. My daughter and I had the best time. Tip, if you are seated in the last row like we were you will be lucky to get anything off the conveyor belt. Most plates were snagged by the time it got to us. Luckily you can order anything they serve on the kiosk and it gets to your booth in a few mins. If you can get a seat at the sushi bar that thing has tons of plates circulating. We came on a Friday night around 6:15 and waited about 15-20 mins. Staff is friendly and ordering is a breeze. Once you are done you deposit your plates. If you have 15 plates you get a novelty keychain from the dispenser up above the kiosk. Again, great experience and the sushi was fresh. Our favorite was the garlic ponzu salmon. The only dish we regretted was sea urchin. It was so earthy and bitter it almost broke us lol. Everything was great, we had a great time here and would definitely come again.

Yelp
I'm a Kura fan and have taken my family to the sac location at least 25 times typing in my zip code every visit hoping that they would open up a Roseville location. I was also a regular at "Kula" Sushi at the late Laguna Hills mall in SoCal before they changed their name to Kura because they realized Americans can pronounce "Kura". I also might as well say that I was an early investor when they went public in like 2019 but I sold all my Kura holdings in like 2022, and boy did they grow. This Roseville location has an outside waiting area that receives full sun during summer so not an ideal waiting area when it's triple digit heat. There's not much room inside so ideally you check-in, then wait in the car or find a cooler place to wait. A shaded patio waiting area would be appreciated. An EV parking spot is great at this location. Haven't seen anyone park their diesel in it yet. I never see people in the stretch business next door but that would be something to pass the time. The servers are polite and very quick to attend your needs and you should use the button on the iPad to get their attention. Want ponzu sauce and plastic fork? They have that. I could go on about the ingredients you can request but it's going to be a YMMV. The spider roll on the conveyor can sometimes be enormous that it literally touches the top of the dome. I feel like they do this as a rare Easter egg on the conveyer because when I order them via tablet they are regular size. My young kids always get the udon and it's usually enough for them. My wife always gets any sushi with the citrus yuzu sauce which is zesty and tangy with some spice. She also loves getting shishito peppers with salmon skin. My older kids eat salmon rolls all day. What I will say about this location is the salmon skin is literally just the skin. At 3 other locations I found that there would be some salmon on the skin and it would be thicker. I also always order salmon cheek as it's an excellent value but for some reason I haven't seen it on the menu. Another observation is I like negitoro and the hand roll had chunks of tuna while the gunken has a fine puree of tuna. I prefer the later so I don't order the Negitoro hand roll at this location. Anyone on yelp that complains about an empty conveyor belt has never sat at a table after a group of big eaters. Plus you can just order from the screen and it comes out fresh so there also shouldn't be complaints about an old dried up roll that's been around the block a few times. The conveyor is for spotting big plates and snatching them first, then eyeballing the gleaming eyes at the tables downstream. One tip is if the current price per plate is say $3.70 per plate. Anything on the menu that's $3.70 will include a plate to add to the prize tally to reach 15 plates for a small prize. I remember the days each plate was under $2 and $50 would be all you can eat for a couple. Unfortunately I don't tend to go here when the family is very hungry as a table of 6 ends up being $200+. It's significantly cheaper to eat sushi in Japan and even Kura plates in Texas are a lot less. Into some details: The Hokkaido egg tart is the worst item on the menu. I don't see tako sukemono on the menu anymore. Fish is usually fresh and I just got back from Tokyo and had my fair share of sushi. I begin to question the taste judgement of some reviewers that maybe they prefer a more "American" sushi taste with adding lots of mayo, crispy crumbs, and sriracha... I tend to order just two ingredients of rice and fish so if it tastes bad then either the fish is old and too fishy tasting, or the rice is too seasoned or not seasoned with sushi vinegar... I also don't know who orders sushi "to go", when raw fish should always be eaten moments after it's made. The sushi should have the warmth of the hand that makes it and the seaweed must be crisp as it will turn chewy in seconds. Kura is a sushi restaurant that is getting sushi right. I've been to other sushi restaurants that literally add sake to fish to mask fishy odor. They have great service but they also have a robot to serve beverages, they also recently partnered with "One Piece" for limited edition prizes, souvenir cup, and anime inspired plates. Paying $16 for a plastic souvenir cup is too expensive but they got me... One last tip is if you have at least 2 kids with your party of 6, you can squeeze into a single booth if the adults aren't XL. Booths are sized to fit 4 adults with some space and a chair can be added for a 5th. Any party larger will need to separate to a different table and often times they won't be together. I once reserved a party for 6 to fit in one table, then waited a long time until they said two tables are ready so plan ahead. Only thing I want at this location is "bonus" plates added to the conveyor with ridiculously larger portions. (Hoodboyz style) Or just make all plates big...

Yelp
HEATED BIDETS!!! Sorry, that's the first thing I wanted to shout. This location has them, and they feel sooooo good after sitting and eating in the super chilly air conditioned room. Anyways!! I really love Kura in general, and this location is probably the best! It's really spacious with lots of seating, and the workers are sooo attentive and friendly. The food tastes great and simple as always, and ordering on the conveyor belt gave us our food quite quickly too. My favorite foods are the miso cream cheese salmon (really saucy and yummy here), tantanmen, and ice cream with donuts... That ice cream with donuts dessert is genuinely my favorite dessert from any restaurant ever. It's so light but always so fresh, which is perfect to have after a bunch of sushi..... I love Kura so much that I keep their Kura shrimp keychain on my bag wherever I go... thank you kura....

Yelp
This place is neat! You pay for each plate you take and a robot brings your beverages. The servers are sweet and explain how it all works. I'm excited to bring my daughter here to try it out! No kids menu but I think we can find stuff for her to try. The sushi rolls are pretty good but the experience is fun.

Yelp
Extremely excited when I drove by and saw there is a Kura Revolving Sushi Bar located here in Roseville!!! It's located right next to the Galleria mall in same lot as La Popular and Lazy Dog. The other closest location is the Arden Sacramento area. I knew I had to try this one while it's still new and the sushi is still fresh. Came here about a week after they opened, there app for adding yourself on waitlist was not set up yet. We drove anyway and took our chances. This was a Friday evening, peak time, people were already waiting outside. We added our name to the list. Wait time we were told was 30 min, not too bad for a Friday. Here's a little pro tip, take if you will, you have choice to sit at a table/booth or can sit at the counters where there is not too long of a wait. We sat at the counters, got seated right away, and in my opinion is a lot better than sitting at the tables because everyone has there own touch screen to order, has the conveyer belt in front view and arms reach, without reaching over someone, and you get seated right away. For just being open a week, service ran pretty smooth, our hostess was very friendly, all the servers was smiling and swift. The ambiance, it is so cool. My kids love eating here. It's like eating inside a video arcade game where you have robots bringing your drinks, you have conveyor belts with little ufo looking saucers holding little dishes of sushi inside circulating around, and then they make it a game to make you eat Atleast 15 plates because if you do you win a little prize that pops out of a machine! Because I had my 2 little ones with me, that meant we had to eat atleast 30 plates so they could both get a prize lol. Btw, each plate is $3.60, those are off the conveyor belt. They do offer other options such as ramen, pot stickers, mochi ice creams, etc. There is a whole other menu outside of what is on the conveyor belt. I normally wouldn't give Kura 5 stars but I was just so impressed with the experience at this one, even the sushi was fresh, the other Kura locations I've been too, to be honest we will just go for the fun experience not so much the sushi which is ok quality, but this location it was nice and fresh as you can see in my pictures. Definitely recommend. Another great addition to Roseville!

Yelp
Kura is me and my wife's go to spot for a quick and convenient meal! The environment is very casual and very trendy. This style of eating is definitely not for everyone but we find it very convenient that we can order our food/drinks from the touchscreen and having the option to grab food from the revolving conveyer belt. The service here is very friendly and using automated delivery systems is great. It is a bit pricy but you are paying for convenience and that's worth it to me. This location is bigger compared to the Sacramento location but the concept remains the same!

Yelp
Finally a Kura in Roseville, at least for us, we don't need to go to the one in sac. Overall, everything was on point for their soft opening, staff are super excited and friendly! Food were good, hope their quality control stay the same! So happy we get to sit on a new table, no sticky tables like other kuras!

Yelp
The best part is that it's affordable and you choose what you want to eat! I love the sushi and sides here. If you order enough, you will also get a toy in a ball. So cute for little kids too. My fave: fresh sesame balls

Yelp
We enjoy going to Kura. It is fun to have the choices come to you. Cost for three of us is about the same as when we go to other sushi places. Food is good and the service is also good. Not sure I am a fan of the robot server, but I don't dislike it, maybe indifferent is a better way to explain. We will continue to go here when we are in the area. I don't think I would make a special trip for it, but when close by we will go.

Yelp
Went here with a friend and enjoyed it. Service, by way of conveyor belt, was outstanding. The wait staff would often check back with us on drink refills so that is part of the outstanding service. I tried the gyoza (cooked perfectly with a crisp exterior and moist interior), shoyu ramen which was pretty good and then had the nigiri sushi (hamachi, salmon, garlic ponzu salmon, tuna, toro) and it was all good. It's an interesting place for a meal. I'll definitely be going back to try other items. The DBZ decor is not the vibe I was expecting but it didn't detract from the experience. Overall, I loved it!

Yelp
We are here almost every week. We like the food, service, ambiance. It's always fast. We like the app but the join list is not updating how long the wait is. You can order via the monitor or you can use your phone. You can pay via phone or via server. To pick up food from the revolving sushi bar, there's a little opening where you just lift the plate up and the cover will open. Don't open or take the cover. If you order from the monitor or your phone, the order gets delivered at the second level conveyor belt. Don't get intimidated by the techy ambience. It's great to experience this with kids and big kids. And if you're in a hurry, great place to have lunch during the weekday too.

Yelp
What's not to love about a revolving conveyor belt, touch screen ordering and robots bringing you drinks. A novelty for sure but it make for a quick efficient dining experience. We will be back.
