Kura sushi is a great economical, mid-tier, fast, convenient, and introduction to sushi and Japanese cuisine. Not bougie, astronomically expensive, unapproachable, snobby, or strictly authentic to where first-timers struggle to find something to try.
There's the conveyer belt sushi - but I just order from the tablet as I don't know how often the conveyer belt plates are refreshed at off-hours. My go to are seared salmon with mayo, seared scallop with mayo, and beef udon. The udon is pretty decent - a tad too salty. The shrimp tempura dishes they have are also REALLY well done and perfectly fried. Ten Jyu is definitely a favorite. If you do choose to get the shrimp tempura udon, I recommend asking the wait staff to have the kitchen not put the shrimp in the soup unless you like it soggy. Japanese style soy milk donuts are also particularly well done!
There are also capsule prizes - I find it difficult to reach unless it's a table of at least 3. There are collaborations with Sanrio and the next one is coming up Feb 1. Recommend signing up for their app to get loyalty points and earn those $5 rewards. ;)
Haven't really had an issue with cleanliness. Wait times and staffing was bad for a while during COVID, and I do really wish they would extend their hours to match Jinya's and close around 10-10:30 PM - I think the demand is certainly there. They've since staffed up and the wait times aren't bad these days. I enjoy coming here for a quick fix of sushi and would recommend!
