We’ve visited twice. They have a good selection of kosher saké and other Japanese liquor. You’ll need to do some searching on your own to find them—they’re mixed in with everything else. The staff was excellent. After we told them what kosher logos look like, they started finding kosher bottles for us! We bought a Shochu they recommended. I would make a point of visiting again. I highly recommend this store.

Unbeatable selection of sake, curated for both those excited to explore unusual imports and for solid, affordable staples. They have the largest selection of umeshu I've ever seen, including some of the spicier, richer, and less overpoweringly sweet versions which is awesome since many are super tasty. The staff is also kind and knowledgeable; very willing to help you find something regardless of whether or not you know what you're shopping for.

Super charming liquor store with a great range of options (from very affordable to high-end). The staff is always very friendly. It's a pretty small (in a good way!) store so you can easily look through the whole selection.

Side note- Oops. Forgot to write a review after stopping in here as I was planning on doing one immediately. Go here for sake or shochu. In terms of location, This sake shop/sakaya is one of the many places that are part of Industry City. It's a a bit past Japan Village/by the exit of Wakuwaku if that makes it a bit easier. Anyway, their sake selection is rather absurd compared to every other store I've been to in the city not just in terms of the bottles but in terms of rarity. For instance, I barely know any stores that sells koshu/aged sake and almost all places sell the exact same brand and this place have several koshu including a single rare bottle of Darama Masamune which is unheard of in the city. Outside of the aged sake, they have all different types from all different regions ranging from entry level to fancy bottles. The prices are also very reasonable especially for the mid-level bottles. Outside of sake, they have a wall of shochu (Japanese liquor made from different grains) as well as some bottles of umeshu/plum liquor and a few other less common things such as awamori. There's also a nice selection of Japanese whiskeys here though I would say there are a bit more at Astor Wine but the prices are more reasonable here of course unless your buying in bulk. The man I spoke to there was very knowledgeable and I had a long discussion with him on sake. He gave samples of some of the sake before I bought an excellent bottle. They also do tastings, learning sessions, and always have bottles out to sample. If you're looking for sake, there's no better places I know of in the city. The prices are reasonable, the people working here know what they are doing, and the stuff is properly labeled. If that isn't 5 stars for a liquor store, I don't know what is.

Such a clean, chill place. Friendly service. Wide selection of sake, Shochu, whisky, etc. Price point is rifht. A lot of which I've never seen before. I'm from LA so you bet we have alot of selections over here. It's great to see new ones though that I've never seen before. There was free sake and Shochu tasting. The workers are very knowledgeable. I mention to him specific Shochu I like, and he was able to curate a taster for me based on what he thinks my palette is. I loved every one that he recommended to me. Wish I knew about this place sooner! I definitely will be back when I am in NY!

Very knowledgeable owner who looks to help you find what you were looking for or suggest something you may have not considered but matches what you want. They had tastings the day we went, proved to open options to other types and varieties, not just a shop trying to use up old inventory or only showcasing cheap stuff to get people in the door. They carry a very nice selection with varying types. You are likely to find something no matter how novice or seasoned drinker you may be.

Quick, simple, super friendly with good prices. They also offer tastings of some of their products as well, which I found really neat.

Great selections of Japanese sake, Gin, and whiskey. Can't pass off when you see sweet potato gin.

The best sake selection you'll find in NYC. Delivery also available it seems. Love their fruit sakes (yuzu, peach, strawberry etc.) and crazy number of whiskys.

Finally a place in Brooklyn that specializes in Japanese spirits. Very knowledgable staff and wide variety. Fairly priced.

The widest sake selection I've seen outside Japan! I was a little worried about how to choose, but they label the shelves by category and most of the sakes have little cards describing how they taste. If all else fails, you can ask the staff; they're nice and happy to make a few recommendations.
