10 Portland Cafes and Carts for Juice, Smoothies, and Wellness Shots - Eater Portland

"Regional juice bar chain Kure PDX used to have a smoothie on their menu called “The Hangover Kure,” but pretty much any item on the menu will make one feel better in a pinch. The menu ranges from sweet, tangy, fruit-focused smoothies like Lush Life — pineapple, banana, kale, ginger, orange juice, blue-green algae, and dates — to green drinks like a creamy Kid Kyoto, a combination of matcha, avocado, dates, coconut oil, and yogurt. Kure’s newest smoothie addition, Sparkle Pony, contains a medley of dragonfruit, avocado, pineapple, dates, and coconut yogurt. In addition to their smoothies, the shop sells meal replacer shakes and shots, as well. Order online for takeout." - Jenni Moore

I’ve been coming to Kure Beaverton for quite some time now — whether it’s for a smoothie, a quick lunch, or a fresh juice — and the quality is always consistent. The Beaverton location has plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. If you’re stopping by in the morning, I highly recommend the Green Eliminator juice — it’s the perfect way to start your day! I usually add an extra shot of ginger, which gives it that extra kick (especially great if you don’t mind ginger on an empty stomach). The staff here are always friendly and work hard to get your orders out quickly, so don’t forget to tip them — they definitely earn it! The place is always clean and inviting, and make sure to join their rewards program — it’s a nice way to earn some cash-back on your visits. Overall, a great local spot for fresh, healthy, and tasty options.

I've ordered an “Extra Mile” drink without ice. When I asked, the girl who took my order for no ice, age said it was “no problem”. The drink is supposed to be 16 oz and costs $8.99, but I received only half of a cup (picture included). If the person serving me had been a bit kinder, I might have let it go, but I think the service could definitely be improved. Left disappointed. I've enjoyed this place so much thus far…

Yummy (and healthy) breakfast spot. Plus some lunch too. Such a cute and clean new space. They have lots of yummy smoothies and bowls, plus they even have a breakfast sandwich now. Lots of indoor seating if you want to stay and hang out. Staff was nice and helpful.

Lovely yummy little spot! Enjoyed my vietnummmm bowl and my matcha was delish. Two outdoor tables to eat outside. Owner, if you are monitoring these reviews, could you drop a link of what green tile this is at your cedar hills store!! It’s beautiful and I want to use it on my backsplash in my kitchen 🤩🤩

The atmosphere definitely got better when a guy walked in who was as clean and elite looking as this food is clean and delish and filling. I'll be back for some more. BTW, I overheard this particular location (here in Cedar Hills) has extra bowls and smoothies to choose from. All I know is I liked it a lot more than Café blah, which for some reason lost its unique flavor and appeal for me some years ago. Anyway, enjoy!!

Kure is fantastic! I’ve been visiting their locations for years and they have the absolute best customer service, food, smoothies, and ambiance! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, and the food and beverages are consistently delicious! I highly recommend their ENTIRE menu as it’s allllll stellar, but definitely be sure to check out their Bowl of The Gods… so so so good!

This was our first visit to this location, as my daughter and I went to the one downtown. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and the friendly, quick service. Ian was especially helpful, and it’s great to have this option on the west side. The establishment was bright, clean, and inviting, with plenty of parking out front. I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for clean, healthy food made with quality ingredients.

Awesome smoothies. Every time we visit Portland, this is our go to breakfast spot for a super tasty and nourishing start to the day. Hot oats with berries, nut butter and granola are like a hug. Acai bowls seem like dessert for breakfast. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is fast, store is clean, staff are efficient and friendly.

Yelp
love that this place is vegan free as someone who is lactose intolerant! i got the kid kyoto the first time and again when i went again! the avocado taste really does come through in the drink! the space was pretty open, plenty of seating, and clean. employees were nice and informative, decently fast service. a little bit on the pricier end.

Yelp
The bowl was extremely good, a great mix of brown rice and salad base. For me, there was too much Tempe, but it was also very tasty! Overall an 8/10 My sister got the açaí, and it was yummy. However, it was very sweet and we were hoping for something without so much sugar. The granola was crunchy and the fruit was fresh. Overall a 6/10 The service was quick and they were very accommodating to my request of very light dressing. The place was well designed and easy to find. When we walked in the smell was absolutely amazing! Would go again!

Yelp
Healthy | Good Location I've been to the Lake O location many times, but I'm out and about more around this area. I'm happy they opened up a location here. I'm a fan of Kure because of their green drink, Kid Kyoto. Kid Kyoto is unique, setting this place apart from other health spots like Nectar, Vitality Bowls, and Jamba Juice. Jamba Juice is just full of sugar. I tend to choose Kure over Nectar because the Kid Kyoto drink has a little bit of matcha. I'm a matcha lover and more on the bitter/tad bit sweet side, so having this in my green drink is a total treat. What's even more awesome is my kid loves this drink too. (She's kind of a health nut for being 7) Another favorite is their mission bowl. The ginger and tempeh (an add-on) is SO delicious with the rest of the ingredients. They can't substitute brown rice for white rice, for all of you who cannot have brown rice. This is where I knock off one star. The workers are friendly, but we asked them once to put some ingredients on the side instead of in the bowl. They must've forgot. The reason we ask for some things on the side and omitted (like the brown rice) is because I have food sensitivities. Brown rice is one of them. It wasn't a big deal, but I was slightly disappointed. Overall, we continue to come back here. Large parking lot. Bright spot that's perfect for lunch or snack. Next to the biggest REI store.

Yelp
Kure is the best! I've been coming here once or more a week now for years and it's such a staple in my gluten free diet. I've turned all my friends and family onto them especially the small bowl of the god and the little wing. My body craves Kure continually because of the high quality superfoods they use. So glad they were finally able to open a location in Beaverton!

Yelp
Solid as always. Nice interior, similar to love joy location, but I hate that they don't automatically apply my rewards every time, I have to ask first. For example, I received a $2 off smoothies, but of course I didn't realize that it wasn't applied until I left.

Yelp
I'm never one to leave a review unless I feel it's necessary. In this case, it is. I've had many bowls and smoothies over the years from the other location and have always been satisfied. I was really looking forward to trying the brand new location in Cedar Hills as it's more convenient for me. Unfortunately, I didn't have a great experience. Customer service was nonexistent and when I went to eat my bowl, it was half melted (I understand it's a smoothie and it melts, but it shouldn't resemble eating soup if I'm eating it within 10 minutes of getting it) and the bananas were brown and old (I ended up fishing them all out and putting my own bananas on). Disappointed to say the least as this was my first experience at this new location and was looking forward to enjoying more stops here, but not sure I'll be back.
