I guess you can say the ice cream is slightly overpriced but that’s fine with me since I like the flavors. They don’t have the traditional flavors that you can find at any Baskin Robbins, but they do have unique flavors if you’re willing to go with an open mind. I took a video, you’ll have to pause it to see all of the flavors. They have new flavors for soft serve if you follow their social media. I came here many times. It’s best to go before 9 pm on a week day otherwise you’ll get more teenagers and tweens. They only have a couple places to eat the ice cream but if you walk past the Selfie World, you’ll find a bunch of benches to sit at. The employees are always pleasant and helpful. This time I got the black sesame cookies ‘n cream, ocean blue mint, and midnight vanilla cone. The sesame flavor was strong and I liked the cookie chunks. Ocean blue mint was good, just tasted like regular mint. The cone did not crumble easily, the vanilla flavor was subtle. The mango flavor isn’t very strong but you can definitely taste the pandan. If you like pandan, it’s worth checking out before they change the soft serve.

Delicious Japanese style ice cream. Ordered several flavors. Black sesame was so good. Fast friendly service

Been here quite a few times, its always been fun trying new flavors of soft serve. The ice cream isn’t overly sweet which is rare👍. Sometimes you don’t like the flavor very much but it’s never been bad. A fun experience, must try!

Google
Kurimu is one of the top ice cream spots in Schaumburg, offering subtle Japanese-inspired flavors and a beautifully designed, cozy space. Located in the Streets of Woodfield, this small shop features adorable decor and frequently introduces unique seasonal flavors. It’s incredibly kid-friendly, making it a perfect place to visit before or after dinner or a movie at AMC. This hidden gem is a must-visit for its great service, reasonable prices, and high-quality treats.

I roughly put the ice cream in the cone and the ice cream fell out as soon as my child picked it up. I roughly put it in the cone so that it could easily fall out, and I told them to take care of it since it spilled. Is it the child's fault if the ice cream falls out as soon as he picks it up? It wasn't our fault, but they told us to buy another one. This is my first time at an ice cream shop like this!

Google
The creamiest and most flavorful ice cream I've had. I was told Hokkaido ice cream is the best and it lives up to the hype. The taro/Thai iced tea swirl was a perfect combination and it's unfortunate to not be offered every month. The taro was earthy and not too sweet to balance out the Thai tea. They have a dozens of unique flavors of scoop ice cream and drinks. Staff were friendly even during the rush with offering samples of the durian flavor. The space is slightly cramped

Google
Very delicious and unique flavors. Everything we tried was fantastic, especially the soft serve. Loved the cute anime vibe of the store and so did the kids. After we finished eating our ice cream we had to get pints to bring home.

I had the horchata on a birthday cake waffle cone. It lacks cinnamon but retains the essence of horchata flavor. I was let down that you couldn't combine flavors.

Yelp
This has got to be one of my favorite spots for ice cream! I used to live downtown and went to Kurimu for their assortment of fun ice cream and soft serve flavors. I was so excited to see they have a location in Schaumburg as well! They have so many Asian inspired ice cream flavors such as thai iced tea, durian, pandan, green tea, and lychee pearl. And don't forget to get it in a cone, which they have cool flavors of as well (blue corn, coconut, etc). But, my favorite thing to get is their soft serve. It's not often that you find unconventional soft serve flavors outside the usual vanilla and chocolate. Their soft serve flavors are always changing, and you can get a swirl! This time when I went, they had white rabbit (type of Asian milk candy) and black sesame, which of course I had to swirl. The two flavors blended perfectly together. It was milky, creamy, and nutty from the black sesame. Definitely check this place out if you like Asian flavors or just want to try something new! I suspect you may just find your new favorite ice cream/soft serve spot as well.

Yelp
Love the Wicker Park location so was looking forward to an experience in Schaumburg. It was quite different and I was disappointed. Went on a Friday night, there was 1 person taking orders and getting ice cream. Another employee was in the back but looked like was restocking or doing dishes. There were 3 parties and the wait was long for one person to take the order at the counter, go to the ice cream area to scoop ice cream. We were confused where to stand in line to order- at the counter or ice cream stand. The place is rather small and felt crammed because there were others also sitting at tables enjoying their ice cream. I typically like soft serve but didn't try grape & strawberry ice cream. I'm impressed that they change wallpaper every time for collab.

Yelp
After dinner I stopped to get Ice Cream at KURIMU located in the streets of Woodfield Mall. Customer Service was fast and friendly. Cool Amine character ambiance of the ice cream shop. I ordered the Midnight Vanilla Cone with one scoop of Mocha Chip and one scoop of Premium Vanilla with fruity pebbles under the scoops in the base of the cone. Definitely worth checking out btw the Midnight cone will make your tongue black!

Yelp
This strip mall isn't as crowded as it used to be, so stopping by Kurimu was a breeze on a Saturday afternoon. The store itself is quiet, kid friendly. There are a couple of tables to sit down and eat. There's a really large amount of delicious ice cream choices - ex. green tea, durian, lychee, mango, etc. We ordered a swirl boba, melon soda, and a lychee ice cream. I didn't realize that the swirl boba soft serve I ordered was actually going to be sesame mixed with vanilla. Had I known ahead of time, I wouldn't have ordered, however after trying it - it was really delicious! The lychee ice cream also had a wonderful flavor. The melon soda was also a hit. The workers do put in a nice effort to make sure that their creations are photo ready. We'll definitely be back the next time we are in the area!

Lisa L.

Yelp
I guess if someone puts a high price tag on something it automatically means it's the best ever? No it's not! I've had ice cream that was on the same price level as this at a different competitor and it was delicious and the portion was huge!

Kayla M.

Yelp
11/10!! I absolutely love Kurimu. The rotating flavors and soft serve combinations are always so good! The presentation of the ice cream is so pleasing to look at! So happy the Streets of Woodfield has a Kurimu location!

Yelp
Miffy and friends are featured at Kurimu. I got a Miffy lychee pearl flavor and my friend got a Boris black sesame flavor. The cones were very light and crispy. Pricey, but cool and refreshing.

Jacob S.

Yelp
What a cute sweet treat spot! I went on a Sunday afternoon with some friends, and we both got different ice creams. She got the lychee scoop, and I got the soft serve swirl, which on the day we went included Pandan and Mango. This is a fairly small space, although there is plenty of seating outside near Chipotle. Overall very happy to have gotten to try Kurimu while visiting town!

Yelp
I've been on the hunt to find a matcha parfait in the area and I was thrilled to hear that kurimu added it to their menu. The last time I was here the walls were decked out in care bear decor however this time the walls were bare and the shelves for merch were empty. This location offers online ordering and/or ordering via the kiosk inside. Prices are pretty steep here. For 2 scoops of ice cream it is priced at about $9 and the matcha parfait was $10. It's pretty small given the price. There was 1 staff member while I was there and she was able to keep up with the numerous orders coming in. It took about 5-7 mins for my order to be made. My fiance tried the mango tango ice cream as well as the melon ice cream. He said both were good, texture was softer than normal ice cream and he'd come back to try other flavors. I tried the matcha parfait - excellent quality of matcha, the soft serve is creamy and prepared to perfection. The toppings included mochi, red bean paste and rice cereal as the bottom layer. All the textures went well together and the shovel spoon it came with was super cute.

Yelp
I had been wanting to go to Kurimu since it's opening by the UIC campus. I had heard good things about it, and the kind of soft serve ice cream they serve reminded me of Japanese soft serve I had in Hong Kong and Singapore. After multiple openings, including the one in Schaumburg, I still didn't check it out until December 2023. My main reason to not go the Schaumburg (by the virtue of being closer to me) location was the price point. Their menu is good, but the items are on the pricey side. Upon reading a handful of reviews, the general consensus I got from them was that although it is pricey shop, the quality and taste of their offerings are definitely worth it to at least experience it once. On my visit, I ordered a scoop of Thai Ice Tea ice cream, a Strawberry Matcha Latte, and a Dalgona Coffee Milk Tea. The shop was inviting and clean. The menu options were laid out well, and the staff member working at that time was friendly and very helpful. You can place your order through a kiosk or give it to the staff member at the cash register. I took my deciding what I wanted as it was my first time at Kurimu. While I was there, the shop got busy, which is good, and therefore, ordering through the kiosk came in handy. The staff member was pretty fast. I didn't have to wait long to get my order. Also, the ice cream I ordered was not enough in stock, so the staff member informed me that they would give me another complimentary scoop of ice cream of the flavor of my choice. I also wanted to get soft-serve, but the flavors at the time were not of my interest. They rotate their soft-serve flavors every month, I was told. I liked what I had a lot. The Thai Ice Tea ice cream was so creamy and flavorful. Its flavor was very pronounced. The complimentary scoop I chose was that of Melon ice cream flavor, and it was delicious, as well. I also loved the Dalgona Coffee Milk Tea. I had not had it before. Kurimu was definitely a hit in my book. I liked everything I tried. Yes, it is on the pricey side, but it's well worth a visit as what is offered is of high quality and taste and is not just run of the mill stuff. Sure, I can not afford to go here as often as I would like to but a few visits here, and there would be a good way to check out the different offerings of Kurimu.

Joseph T.

Yelp
So many options. My wife got boba while my kids got ice cream. We ended up just eating it outside on the bench since the weather was so nice!

Merrill D.

Yelp
If your drive-thru Frosty routine is deja vu, get over here now. Kurimu has a small but mighty location in the Streets of Woodfield. I mean, why vanilla when you can have friggin durian, sweet corn, or purple yam with oreo? Their out of the ordinary appearance and flavor make Kurimu a winner, plus Miffy is straight gangster. Your concoctions are expertly made with TLC by the friendly staff, unlike the ice cream truck ice creams of our youth, when the gumball eye of your Ninja Turtle was in his mouth. I love their black sesame. Fun scoops and soft serve, along with interesting drinks. Why not take home a pint or two home? I did. Gotta pay them a visit to try their butterscotch chocolate parfait. See you there!

Ho T.

Yelp
I had the horchata on a birthday cake waffle cone. It lacks cinnamon but retains the essence of horchata flavor. I was let down that you couldn't combine flavors.

Lauren Z.

Yelp
While KURIMU is good and well worth trying, it was also extremely pricey! We ended up spending about 50.00 or so for three items. We weren't too upset about it since it was all very tasty and understandable since it is such a unique experience. We really enjoyed their mango rice ice cream. It's very popular and there was only one scoop left for a cup size towards the end of the night post dinner time. Also enjoyed their classic ice cream with boba. Their boba is great quality : chewy and delectable. The strawberry flavor was tasty. You cannot go wrong with any of the many options you have! Staff is super helpful and friendly as well!

Bailey P.

Yelp
This place is so cute! After a long day I was craving some dessert and came across this place tucked away in the Streets of Woodfield. I'm typically a soft serve person but after seeing the cute bear (Boris) cone I couldn't resist. I got it in the purple yam flavor and everything about it tasted great. The workers were very sweet and helpful too. Definitely want to come back and try some of their soft serve flavors!

Lan N.

Yelp
We stopped by here after some lunch and errands in the area. They were doing their miffy collab so I had to get the miffy cone. The matcha is my go to flavor here. My husband tried their soft serve of the month, which was the Vietnamese coffee. It was soooo sooo good! Super refreshing on a hot hot day. It wasn't super busy when we were there, which was nice. We've been there a few times where it was pretty packed, but the wait isn't that crazy long anyways.

Melissa B.

Yelp
It's a small shop tucked away in the semicircle drive. Cute miffy themed. Have unique flavours of ice cream that leans Asian flavoured. Pandan, Durian and Thai tea.

Erin H.

Yelp
The menu is large and a bit overwhelming for a first timer. Soft serve was good and I got more than I could finish alone. I would recommend splitting with a friend if possible.

Jeannie Y.

Yelp
Absolutely adorable spot! Miffy Kurimu is full of charm with its cute atmosphere and friendly service. The homemade ribbit and bear-shaped ice creams are not only delicious but almost too cute to eat. They have a great selection of drinks as well--whether you're craving coffee, matcha, or a refreshing tea, they've got it all covered. The perfect spot to satisfy your sweet cravings while soaking in a playful and delightful vibe!

Angela Y.

Yelp
This's our go to ice cream spot whenever we go to Schaumburg!! Our favorite is their biscoff hands down!! They do rotate the flavors, so they might not have it sometimes. Their tea flavors ice cream are also very tasty, earl grey, hojicha, highly recommend to try them out next time you go. They also have soft serve which they switch out the flavor every month!!! Their ice cream isn't too sweet, very flavorful, and variety of unique flavors!!

Cristel M.

Yelp
This place is super popular and busy! When I arrived just before closing time, the place was packed. Scoopable ice cream includes some traditional flavors and others less usual. On this visit, I tried the Matcha Oreo, which I enjoyed. The flavor and texture were both great. I also tried one of their specialty cones -- the birthday cake flavored one. I didn't love the cone -- it left sort of a coconut oil aftertaste in my mouth. I paid about $10 for a single scoop in a specialty cone, which I thought was extremely high. It's a fun place for a special treat, but next time I'll probably get a regular sugar cone. They also have soft serve flavors that change periodically, but I haven't been enticed to try them so far. The menu lists other items with no explanation as to what they are. There are things like Kurimu Gold and Kurimu Silver that are pricier than other options but they don't give you a clue what they are, which is odd. And there's not a great way to find out, because the menu is by the front door, but you have to stand in line to order and pay around the corner, where there's not a menu in view. Very odd setup - it's like the counter is arranged backward. It would make more sense to order and pay by the menu -- and have a chance to ask questions or include details on the menu -- and then pick up the orders down the line.

Michelle C.

Yelp
The selection of ice cream was very unique. The price was wayyy too much though. For our one scoop with oreo topping it was about $7.75. The only one that peeked our interest was the peppermint Oreo ice cream, which was very refreshing but not worth the cost in our opinion. The snoopy collab is over as well now.

Ravi Kiran T.

Yelp
We did a work team ice cream outing here. We walked in - very clean interiors and as others said slight odd arrangement of the ice cream shelf - you order and walk inside to right for payment and then you wait to get order ready. Overall the service was fantastic- very humble and attentive. Every flavor was amazing - I think we as a team enjoyed our dessert happy hour. I will be coming back for more.

Gluterie M.

Yelp
After a terrible meal at kura, this place found me and I am pleasantly surprised. Soft serve has seasonal options. This month it seems to be watermelon and fancy vanilla. Lol! The watermelon wasn't my fave and I was forewarned so I can't complain. But they seriously do a perfect swirl here. It's like art. Their ice cream flavors are also very tasty and I am definitely coming back for the mango cheesecake. I'm kind of sad I didn't get it this time but my daughter and I switched because she thought my soft serve was so cute and I ended up eating her strawberry vanilla, which tasted like a strawberry shortcake bar. Though not my favorite, they got the taste correct! Also I absolutely love that they have different flavor cones. Be careful ordering tho, because the prices reflect just a regular cone. And if you want a specialty cone, it's like guac, it's extra. Minus points for the price because 7 bucks for soft serve is kinda crazy, even for my New York living ass. But the quality is good. Also deducted because for the price, why do I have to ask for extra napkins for my 4 year old? Shouldn't you have that readily available? Otherwise ambiance is super cute and judging from other reviews, this place changes in theme and I can't wait to come back.

Bianca C.

Yelp
Small cute lil spot. I was so happy to finally get to try Kurimu! I knew about their location in the city but it would be out of my way, needing to make a trip there. Didn't realize they opened one not too far from me til now! I had to try their swirl soft serve ice cream. It was soo creamy and smooth!!! Their ice cream flavors were enticing, have to try next time!

Trip Archer R.

Yelp
Very cute place. Interesting ice cream flavors with decent milk tea flavors. The service was nice, very upbeat and knowledgeable folks. I enjoyed the sweet cream ice cream a lot. The tea was average. Nothing to write home about but not bad in the slightest. This building is disability accessible. Service animals are welcome and there is enough room to use mobility aids.

Alana S.

Yelp
We had the taro soft serve, and since it was near Halloween they had fun festive Halloween sprinkles!! It was so cute how they decorated them, and you can tell they always put thought into decorating instead of just dumping sprinkles on. The corn ice cream is still one of my top tier scoop flavors. You should try it if they have it! It tastes like a sweet cornbread. I love that they have rotating flavors.

Princes Faith B.

Yelp
Soft serve ice cream strawberry, chocolate, vanilla flavor miffy edition and mango tango. Not too sweet. I needed to add some important details in here. There's non cash fee of 3.75%. Additional 2% tax on prepared food (village of Schaumburg) and 10% tax on prepared food/general merchandise. 4 soft serve ice cream cost me a total of $36.57. Well at least we get to try it.

Serena D.

Yelp
Love the asian flavors!! I got the thai tea and pandan ice cream and it was pretty good! The ice cream was mostly creamy but there were times where it was a bit icy. The only reason why it's 4 stars is because two scoops in a cup and one scoop on a little cone were $20!!

Salena C.

Yelp
My son is obsessed with Charlie Brown & Snoopy, so when we started seeing Kurimu's current theme was just that, we knew we had to make a visit (and yes, my son's snoopy stuffy was certainly in tow!). The place is small, but so cute. A few photo opps, and everything is pretty big and life sized. The ice cream was delicious! We tried the ube, matcha, trio mash-up (ube, mango & lychee) and then the soft serve swirl, which was white rabbit & earl grey tea! All phenomenal.... But so expensive. $20+ for three little things. Service was a miss, unfortunately. They said they do samples, but couldn't the day of our visit (not really sure why as we weren't offered an explanation). I asked what white rabbit candy was (I had no idea!) and she said "it's just like the white rabbit candy!" .... I felt dumb! I didn't know (and STILL don't know!) what white rabbit candy is!!!! I felt like they could have offered a little more about the flavor or taste to people who don't know! Overall, I'll definitely keep an eye out for their changing themes. It's only a mile from Woodfield Mall, so it's certainly worth the small detour if you're already out shopping!

Jenny K.

Yelp
Creative ice cream combinations. Not a place to find your typical mint chocolate chip, or rainbow sherbet. I had the mango taro swirl soft serve. So yummy. Added some boba and mochi. Absolutely hit the spot. Ambience is cute and fun - minimal seating available. Can get a bit snug and loud during the afternoon-dinner rush.

Pavit A.

Yelp
Ice cream place is awesome. It is a bit pricy but worth it for the taste. There is not too much seating, but on summer day it is would be nice to walk around outside with ice cream.

Cherry O.

Yelp
2nd time visiting the shop and noticed it seems very empty. All the Care Bears merchandise is gone. When I asked the server about it she said the store is changing and Care Bears will no longer be associated with Kurimu. I think they said it will now be Snoopy themed. I could be wrong. I was disappointed that the flavors of the month were not Taro and Coconut which is what I was expecting when I went there. They had a Vegan Chocolate and Orange soft serve. To be honest I didn't really enjoy it. But my daughter got the taro Oreo scoop and that was delicious. Unless they have taro and coconut soft serve all year long I'll be back. Otherwise I am not so sure.

Ruth L.

Yelp
Cute ice cream shop with unique Asian flavors. Prices will start around $6-7 for a scoop. Kid friendly, happy decor inside of the Peanuts gang allows for cute photo ops. To-go pints available. Get ice cream or boba Some Asian and/or out of the box inspired flavors include: Ube (purple yam) Green tea Corn Earl grey White rabbit Dalgona coffee bobas available and flavored cone options for the ice cream. Go check it out.

Mel C.

Yelp
This is a very cute cream shop with a variety of sweet flavors. We visited for a Valentine's Day treat and had the Ocean Mint Chip and Oreo Cream. Both flavors were extremely creamy, and I liked the light, thin crisp of the mint chips. We ordered the pint sizes to-go, and they were about $12.50 each, so pretty pricey but worth the special occasion splurge for a creamy Valentine treat. The place was pretty busy when we went in, so I just grabbed our pints to-go as seating is limited. The current Snoopy theme makes the inside very cheery and bright, and there are some cute places for a photo opp while you wait for your order. The gals working were very sweet and working hard on orders. I would like to come back and try other flavors or a boba drink.

Jonna N.

Yelp
This is my first time at this location, I've only been to the Taylor St location before. So this is most adorable ice cream shop ever! I absolutely had a hard time picking what I want it because everything sounded so good. They have a Peanuts collab now. The decor is decked out in Peanuts and you even get a few cute comic strips. I love how they add a Peanuts character themed cookie to every cone so you were able to get into the collab and who doesn't love to desserts in one. We got one cone of Uzumaki cereal mixed ice cream). It is 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream + choice of cereal + choice of topping! ⁣We picked Cinnamon Toast Crunch and chocolate shell topping. The ice cream was super tasty!! Sometimes desserts are instagrammable but wow this was very delicious. Creamy, the right amount of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the chocolate shell didn't cover the whole thing but the flavor was enough so I could taste everything at once. We picked the coconut shell and it was nice to get all these flavors. I also got a swirl of earl grey tea and white rabbit candy. I'm a HUGE fan of earl grey and the flavor didn't disappoint. White Rabbit is a flavor I've seen them do for a while now but I finally got the chance to try it and it does hit the spot. Definitely White Rabbit flavor and perfect for the year of the rabbit. I'd definitely come back! There are tons more flavors to try in the tubs. Just wish this location was bigger because quite a few groups came in after us and we felt crowded and had to leave to enjoy our ice cream in the car. Otherwise, it was a nice and tasty experience.

Ariana G.

Yelp
So I've been to the location on Taylor st. before and it was really good. I was just sad to see blank white walls at this location because I was hoping for the care bears theme but I guess I missed out. This location was small yet clean. I was greeted immediately. The current kurimu swirl flavors were orange and charcoal chocolate which was something I wasn't interested in. I do like that they switch the flavors up based on the season. Kurimu is always a place I would consider to get ice cream! Yes pricey but worth it.

ALice A.

Yelp
Oh my gosh!!! Everything about this store is just so cute!!! Care Bears!!!! Great for IG content lol I went on a Sunday afternoon and to my surprise, there was only a couple customers in the store. The staff there was super friendly and nice. Answered any questions I had with the ice cream flavors. The soft serve flavor I got to try was Ramune. It was sooooooooo goooooood!!!! And the pretty light blue color of the ice cream just made it even more yummier lol! My friend got the lychee ice cream. The flavor was amazing too! Didn't taste artificial. Highly recommend lychee if the soft serve flavor that day doesn't interest you. I can't wait to stop by again to try out other flavors. Kurimu makes other chain ice cream stores look lame! :P

Farah A.

Yelp
KURIMU is the BEST!! The moment you enter the store, it feels like a happy place. Love the Care Bear Collab and that dictates the decor and theme of the place. It gives of a happy vibe with the wall art, ballons, and Care Bears. We decided to try the Milk Boba Tea, Strawberry Lava with tapioca and the soft serve flavor of the day -Shikoku Yuzu And Harajuku Strawberry on a matcha cone. The cones are so beautifully designed and the matcha one tasted great. The soft serve flavor was incredible . Smooth and delicious taste that will make you wanting for more. The soft serve flavor keeps changing monthly so call ahead or check online. Both the milk boba tea and strawberry lava were excellent. Bubble tea done right. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors. They have a nice lineup of unique ice cream flavors , Thai ice tea, matcha matcha, lychee Pearl ,espresso latte, purple yam Oreo , ocean mint chip and more. Check out the first suburban location of KURIMU in the Streets of Woodfield asap!!

Brandy G.

Yelp
Since last year I've been going to this lovely gem in the streets of woodfield. Great selection of flavors and I love their flavored waffle cones! Although the place is smaller, it's good for the summer to walk around the area after.

Ashley A.

Yelp
I visited the Kurimu in Chicago last year, and wanted to try this location now that they are open. Final week of the Carebear collab. I decided to go with the scoops because the soft serve flavors did not sound like my style. I went with the mango cheesecake and taro Oreo in a cup and it was served with a tiny cone on top. Both flavors were great. My fiance got the build your own option with cinnamon toast crunch and mini mochi in a dark chocolate cone and it was so good! I wish the place was a little bigger and could provide small tables, they only had a bench. It seems like it's not really a dine in for ice cream type of place. Grab and go. I hope to return once they have some soft serve flavors that intrigue me!

Monty W.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to check out this neat ice cream shoppe in the streets of woodfield. The shoppe was closed until the afternoon the first time I was around, so I had to delay my journey until a nice Saturday evening after dinner. The shoppe was quite busy with a queue all the way to the door. As I entered I saw several groups of folks enjoying their ice cream cones outside sitting on the benches along the drive. Kurimi has several Asian favored and inspired flavors in the case including white sesame, hojicha, ube, durian, and Thai iced tea. I liked the decor, definitely for care bear fans such as myself with wall art and even plush cute care bears and balloons! The scoops are a pretty good size and was not overly creamy and rich like a custard, but definitely smooth. Just wish the container it came in was not one of those plastic coçktail cups you get when at a wedding - seemed to not go along with the premium ice cream they were scooping up. I wish the ordering was done at the ice cream station or through some kiosk to speed service, since you need to order at the register, I think some people were queuing at the wrong location. The flavors are unique, not many shoppes have them, but for the premium price, I'd expect more of a premium experience. The ice cream is definitely good and worth a try, but it's not going to be a regular visit for me.

Yelp
I've had Kurimu bookmarked for some time and have been wanting to try it. After visiting Schaumburg location - I think I need to make a trip out to the city to fully update my review as I think I could have had a better experience there with more options/flavors. We came here after Te'amo. It was a weekday afternoon, so it wasn't busy at all. I wish I had known about their soft serve swirl flavors earlier or that they would announce it. For those who do not live nearby and have to actually make a trip out - it would have been nice to know that they no longer do certain flavors and the flavors get updated all the time. I had originally wanted to get the ube swirl, but they didn't have that during my visit (Aug 2022). Not only did I not know what flavors will be there when I visited, but the price for one scoop is super expensive. I do like how the flavors are very unique and I've never been to an ice cream shop that exclusively had Asian flavors like Kurimu. I decided to get 2 scoops (lychee & hojicha) on a regular cone. I was very amazed to find that here, as Hojicha is my guilty pleasure. Hojicha has the taste of roasted green tea and it tasted legit, dare I say similar to the Hojicha I had back in my home state (HI). However, I'm not dying to go back and pay over $10 for ice cream again.

Yelp
Calling all durian lovers!! This ice cream place has durian ice cream, and it is amazing. And if you don't like durian, they have other awesome unique ice cream flavors here like taro (soft serve), black sesame, hojicha, etc. Unfortunately, the taro soft serve machine wasn't working when we went, but they said they do use real taro to mix into their base (not many places use real taro instead of powder). The flavors offered here are the biggest plus as there aren't many ice cream shops that offer similar flavors. However, I would say that the prices are expensive for what you get. It costs $5++ for 1 small scoop of ice cream. It's a fun treat, but I wouldn't splurge on ice cream regularly. Also, the layout of the inside can be confusing. It can get crowded, and they don't have very defined lines of where to order/where to pay. For someone coming in for the first time, it isn't very "user-friendly", and the workers don't say/do much to facilitate the flow either. I'm still not sure if we were supposed to order elsewhere, but we just walked to the back and ordered at the cashier.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time, even before they had a location in the burbs. So when a suburban location opened up, even better and an easier opportunity to do so. We came in after dinner on a weekend night. The place was decently busy, the inside is not very big. When you walk in, the ice cream coolers are right there. They have unique Asian inspired flavors. We tried Roasted white sesame, ube, Thai ice tea, hojicha, and the ocean mint chip. The roasted white sesame was quite nice. Had good flavor, like a black sesame. The Thai ice tea, tasted just like that. The hogicha was like that as well, tea and good flavor. First off their pricing is 1 scoop or 2 scoops and then they also have a price for an extra scoop. We did a 2 scoop with an extra scoop and then another 2 scoop. We asked for some extra cups for the 3 scoop ice cream as we wanted to split up the scoops so each person could then get their own. The cups they gave us were the cheap plastic water kind of cups. Per their rules as they said they were not allowed to give another regular plastic cup that the ice cream came in. Okay I can understand expensive glass cups or something of that sort not being able to get extra cups of. But no these were just regular plastic cups, like the clear short solo kind. $5.50 for a single scoop and you can't afford to give an extra plastic cup. And then on top of that they messed up our order and gave us the wrong flavor. We didn't get to try the soft serve that night but that looked good as well, maybe another time? Maybe not, we'll see how much I want to try the soft serve vs wanting to be subjected to the lack of customer service there.

Yelp
Very interesting selection and flavors. Definitely a standing room only spot. There's a couple of bench seats and the air conditioning is on par. You can order at the counter or via the kiosk. Great presentation, value is correct for the location, which is in a very nice shopping mall (got to keep the lights on).

Yelp
Punchline: the ingredients in the scooped ice cream are super high-quality and creamy. I can't wait to try more! Expect slower than expected service. I ordered 3 scoops, 3 different flavors: black sugar Hokkaido, toasted white sesame, and durian. I didn't taste any durian and the scoops given were all the same color: white. I was able to distinguish the Hokkaido creamy milk (but not the carmelization of black sugar) and the white sesame flavors. Both were excellent! There are other exciting flavors (ube, matcha, etc.) and soft serve, but unfortunately not available this location at the time of my visit. I am reading other reviews that they're still in soft - opening stage. Some kinks, I hope they work out are: - The confusing ordering process due to the layout. When you walk in and it's super crowded in small space, and it's difficult tell where to place the order. Do you order first, then pay? Or vice versa. The register to place the order is all the way in the back and wasn't easily identifiable with mix of people waiting to place an order and people waiting to get their ice cream/drinks. - It took nearly 15 minutes after paying to get my ice cream of which they shorted me a scoop. They quickly tried to make up for it, but then called the wrong customer # and almost gave away my ice cream! Good I quickly claimed it, but they gave me 1 wrong scoop (definitely not durian that I asked for). Despite all that, it's hard for me to be mad because it's that delicious! Go go go!

Yelp
In the end, the ice cream tasted really good and the waffle cone, I had no complaints. But when we first came in, it was pretty busy and a lot going on. There was stuff everywhere even on the walls, we were confused on how everything worked. The register is deeper in the restaurant, we thought we had to wait in front of the store. The thing is, everyone working here was definitely under 21, a lot of kids. We were kind of looking for help, what's in house made ice cream compared to soft served. What pandan ice cream is, how much is 1 scoop etc. We kept walking around looking confused and lost but no one helped us. We just settled for a scoop of mango and it was actually pretty good. Not too sweet, but the mango flavor was strong.
