Google
Amazing food and customer service. Our waiter, was so helpful and suggested we try the edamame and WOW! Loved everything we tried!

Muna Night

Google
Love the atmosphere and the food was delicious, I usually hate mushrooms and ginger but I loved the mushrooms and ginger lemon soda they served here! And Eric with a C, last name G was an amazing waiter who had us laughing the whole time, and recommended the best items that we ended up loving.

Laura Gettman

Google
This was a great place to find when it wasn't busy. The best charred and spicy edamame I've ever had!

Jordan chandler

Google
Absolutely incredible! From the first moment we walked in until the moment we walked out we felt like we were at home. The service (James was our waiter), the Ramen, the desert, it was all amazing. The chef is cooking up something great here! We will definitely be back very soon.

Google
Had the pickle plate, niko dongo, and tonkotsu ramn. All the pickles where good except the kitchen pickle personally, way too much ginger for me. Same thing with the Niki dongo, don't get me wrong I like ginger but the niko dingo was overwhelming for me. The top layer of the rice also tasted hard? Like it had been out for a while before we ordered it. The tonkotsu Ramen would have been good if I didn't know what tonkotsu Ramen tasted like. The Ramen was SUPER salty (and orange??) and the mushrooms in it where even more salty and for some reason sickeningly sweet. The broth tasted more like pho with a hint of tonkotsu. Other than that the staff where amazing and super friendly! And the beer selection and drinks where exceptional as well.

Google
Absolutely recommend this restaurant for some really amazing Japanese style food. You will not be disappointed. And by stopping here for a meal, you'll also be helping out the charities of the month that the restaurant donates proceeds towards. Win win for sure!

Google
A very interesting place - found on the corner of an old neighborhood. Some of the best authentic tasting Ramen that I’ve had in the US! Side dish portions were a little meager but incredibly tasty! Worth a visit!

Google
Amazing! One of my favorite ramen places I always recommend. The food is delish, you can easily spend less than $30, but also more. So, it depends on what you order. It is kid friendly with games in the back area. The patio is great! Very family friendly or date atmosphere. The staff is great! Parking: there is parking at the Alamodome and a lot across the street. The lot across the street does fill up when busy. The handicap parking is right at the restaurant with wheelchair ramp accessibility. Go, go check it out!

Yelp
I went here twice once when they were starting up and recently. And I really loved both times! This restaurant has a really cool concept where if you buy one of their drinks, they'll give you a coin in which you can vote on a charity that they Will donate to at the end of the month. But let me tell you about their food! Recently I went to their happy hour! And they're happier has such great deals! A lot of the appetizers are really cheap so we ordered a lot of food. It was quite gluttonous because we ordered a little too much... But it was so great! The food was full of flavor! The ones that stood out to me were the wings and the steamed buns, and karaage (but mostly the wings tbh). When I went for the first time, I got to try their ramen dishes and they were pretty good too!

Pearl C.

Yelp
The service and ambience is great! I found this restaurant through yelp and it wasn't what I expected. It's right across a stadium, making it a great place for people to get food after an event. We were a bit skeptical about the parking but you'll be fine as long as you park diagonal from the restaurant in the rocky area. The inside was very American and you wouldn't guess that they serve Japanese food! Since it was our first time here, we got charred edamame on the house! Also during happy hour, all their small bites are 50%. The food was a little more on the salty side but still good! They are known for their ramen, but my dad wanted a rice bowl instead. I would come again to try their ramen.

Yelp
18 Apr 2024 My sister and I went here after attending Fiesta Fiesta at the Alamodome. It IS right across the street from the dome. Another draw was the karaoke that starts at 6:30pm. Oh, and it's happy hour until 7pm. A lot of the food (mostly small plates) is half price during happy hour. Our bill was about $21 for two 16 oz beers and two small plates. One plate was grilled slices of mushroom. The slices looked like steak and were very tender. The fried mushrooms were presented as small chicken on a sticks. Also tasty. Because it was our first time, they through in a small bowl of edamame. A sauce accompanied our plates that was also very tasty. The downer was what seemed like hundreds of flies tormenting the customers seated on the porch. One of the porch fans did not work, which didn't help the situation. An employee came out after a time and placed citronella candles on the porch banisters. Helped a little. Then came the mosquitos. Sigh. The server Destiny was great. She brought me a glass of ice for my not-so-cold beer. Checked on us periodically. Did well Thanks. I'll bet this is a great fall/winter destination.

Yelp
"The Cherrity Bar serves the best ramen I've had in San Antonio! Their kushishiitake (skewered, deep-fried shiitake mushrooms) are incredibly delicious--my meat-eater husband even preferred them over the meat skewers. A must-visit for anyone seeking amazing flavors!"

Tiffani K.

Yelp
Talk about ten out of ten! This place was an amazing experience from beginning to end, To start the atmosphere and service were great and quick, We got a free order of edamame since it was our first time here, followed by our drinks we ordered a pain killer and an aviator, lastly I got the Tonkotsu ramen and it was the best i've tried here in San Antonio. All while the proceeds are going to charity! They also had games available to play and karaoke night was starting later that night! I didn't get to stay for karaoke but I will 100% be back! If you're reading this because you're debating trying this place, do it now!!

Yelp
Fantastic food, drinks, and service at this bar - great indoor and outdoor options near the Alamodome. I highly recommend the appetizer sampler with mushrooms, chicken and pork - they all come with different sauces and it was fantastic! I also got the Ron burgundy cocktail and loved it. Great spot with good happy hour options (drinks and food)

Yelp
Looking for a local asian restaurant to take my friend out and Yelp led me to this restaurant. You could dine inside or on the patio. My friend and I ate on the patio, which was very beautiful with the lights and the heater, but not fun with the mosquitoes bitting my feet. If you're wearing open toes shoes and/or a dress, I recommend dining inside. I read through several reviews that raved about the charred edamame. I mean, it's just edamame, what's so special about it. I placed an order for it (and the kind server, upon learning it was our first visit at the restaurant, gave us the appetizer on the house--so kind and sweet!). O..M..G... the charred edamame is just out of this world!! It is covered in this sauce that is comprised of sesame oil and another flavour that I can't quite point out, but regardless, it was super delicious and the charred edamame did not taste burnt. We also got the pork & kimchi dumplings that had great flavours and super tasty. The kashi sampler was a great way to sample a variety of the appetizers. They also have Happy Hour between 4-7pm, which gave 50% off all small things; I definitely took advantage of it. My friend was super addicted to the spicy mayo sauce and we asked for more. Upon paying the bill, I noticed they charged $1 for the extra sauce, so this is a note to y'all that sauces are not unlimited and they do charge you. My friend got the pork yakisoba and I got the vegetable miso ramen. I didn't get to try her yakisoba, but the vegetable miso ramen was absolutely delicious. Flavours were on point and I was surprised at how well done the dish was. Overall, I highly recommend dining at The Charity Bar and have to hit it up the next time I'm in San Antonio! =)

Jasmine L.

Yelp
First time dining here and it was amazing!! The happy hour is such a great deal- 50% off small plates and $6 select cocktails (paloma, old fashioned, daiquiri) plus some beers and wines. The paloma was sweet and the daiquiri was more on the sour side. The starters were overall great! Really liked the texture and taste of the karaage, and the slider were very big and filling! The niku dango were also very filling and comes with a side of rice!! My favorite was the charred endamame! For the main dishes, we got the vegetable double miso ramen. The beoth was super rich, and the vegetables were juicy, especially the mushrooms! The pork kimchi fried rice was also filling and tasty! The service was great, and the restaurant itself is very homy and artsy with local art that rotates! They also give each person a coin that you can place for their donation box. They have a ton of games in the corner of one of the rooms too! Overall, a super cozy place and very friendly staff! The parking lot is located across the street (there was no sign but it's on Montana street). You can call if you get lost!

Yelp
Food A+++ Service A - Atmosphere B+ Ambiance B. I would return simply for the KILLER kushishiitske app. I could eat a double order by myself they are so good!! Crispy and sweet, dipped in their spicy mayo. They won't disappoint

Lea C.

Yelp
It's okay, nice happy hour. Atmosphere is nice. The ramen i got was good but my daughter did not like hers because the kids ramen they mix soy sauce in the broth.

Omar C.

Yelp
I just moved into the area and was looking for a dog friendly place. Came here with Bogie and a friend of mine. Surprisingly, they sat us inside. Liz let us know that we still had time to take advantage of the happy hour menu. Oyster mushrooms were incredible along with all of the other appetizers. We got done with dinner and it was a beautiful evening, so we came out to the outdoor bar and Destiny took care of us as well. Bogie was welcomed by the entire staff. Will definitely come back regularly!

Andy M.

Yelp
Finally made it down to The Cherrity Bar after having it on my radar for way too long. From beginning to end, what a fantastic experience ... good drinks, fantastic food and really good service. Truly the very best happy hour in town given the quality of the food and the numerous options. The tebasaki wings, karaage, gyoza, shishito peppers, charred edamame and oyster mushrooms were all top notch. And hats off to Eric at the bar for crushing it!

Angie A.

Yelp
We were recommended this place by a friend and happened to be in the neighborhood. The Cherrity Bar is a cute little place to go to. The entry way is inviting and the food was hearty and savory. We ordered the tonkatsu ramen with extra egg - very flavorful! The mushrooms were marinated in a sort of soy sauce that mixed so well with the heaviness of the broth. The noodles were done just right and the eggs were cooked to perfection - though a bit salty which the broth helped with. It was our first time in so they gave us complementary edamame which was grilled and lightly salted. So good!! The tsitsaron manok was really good! We are Filipino so it was nice to see in the menu! They also had a game corner and the servers were really sweet. The chef even checked in on us every now and then. The only thing that puts it to 4 instead of 5 stars is the cleanliness? Maybe it was where we were seated but the area - such as the window - and walls seemed to not been cleaned after a while. The table was a bit sticky too but honestly I tie it up to humidity. Overall an awesome first experience and we will be back!

Taylor S.

Yelp
We've been here twice now and both times were amazing. We are ramen lovers, so this is right up our alley. They give you free edamame your first time there and it is so good! I love trying their different cocktails of the month. We also love when they have live music outside. It's such a great atmosphere.

Jobies N.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place. It has a cool vibe but the food was just subpar for foodies like us. All the dishes we ordered had the same flavor profile, and also just too salty. We did enjoy the complimentary charred edamame.

Alondra V.

Yelp
Everything was Delicious! & good service the chef himself brought out our food! Thank you so much for the great service!

Joe W.

Yelp
This is actually our second time here, but I guess I forgot to actually review it last time. We absolutely love this place, and how they support all the different charities. Their drinks are honestly amazing, if they weren't so deep into downtown we would go to their happy hour all the time. The ramen was an absolute hit, super flavorful. This place is amazing.

Tommy L.

Yelp
The gyoza were really salty, even when not dipped in the soy sauce. I got the tonkotsu ramen with extra pork belly. The broth wasn't flavorful. The spicy sauce on the side really helped it out. Tonkotsu broth is supposed to be rich and creamy. I did like the mushroom topping though.

Ruthie W.

Yelp
It's been years since we've been to @cherritybar so we headed over for lunch today. It was perfect since happy hour is from 12noon to 3pm so the small plates were half off and certain drinks were discounted. My husband had a Moscow Mule, I had Painkiller and Dad had Lemonade. We had ordered enough to cover lunch and dinner! The Tsitsaron Manok was from the secret menu. Super crispy and great sauce! Also ordered Tebasaki Wings, Kushishiitake, Pickle Plate, Katsu Sliders (ate for dinner), Tonkotsu Ramen and Veggie Miso Ramen with pork belly and tofu. Everything was tasty! Gwen took good care of us. Chef Ernest advised us on the veggie broth since Dad needed low sodium. @cherritybar now has focused on supporting one charity a month. This month is the Alamo City Pit Bull Rescue! Great food and a cause you can get behind. Also, before you head over, claim the 8% cash back in Groupon. You get the cash back by using the card linked to the account. Check it out soon!

Liz C.

Yelp
Stopped to grab a drink here before going to a concert across the street only to be pleasantly surprised some delicious food. Will definitely go back to try other menu items.

Derek L.

Yelp
The "chef" came out and told my friend I was eating lunch with that Seafood was in fact vegetarian. A simple google search or poll of other vegetarians would say otherwise. The ramen was very bad.

Jasmine G.

Yelp
Customer service was great. Host was fast to get us seated(party of 2). They only had one bartender so there was a little wait for drinks. Food was okay, would definitely try some thing different next time. The sliders looked great we saw another table order but we were already full. Would try those next possibly.

Nate J.

Yelp
This place was great, well other than going on a game day at the Alamodome! We found parking right down the street $10 so it wasn't terrible. Walked up we were greeted and sat right away. Our waitress quickly arrived to bring water and asked if we had any questions. So we ordered drinks and appetizers. Soon after the dri KS arrived I got a can of pineapple eastciciders the wife a house made Cucumber lime soda which she loved!! Karrage and charred and spicy edamame came soon after! The Karaage was crispy and juicy with a great dipping sauce! The edamame was unique, spicy and delicious!!! Entrees arrived soon after, I got the chicken bone and shoyu ramen with tofu! Again a different and unique flavor but oh so great! Rich broth, soft chewy noodles with fresh veggies and yummy tofu! My wife got the Char Sui Don. The meat was cooked perfectly very tender and it came with lots of rice and the best broccoli we've ever had!! Last but not least we ordered the tempura fried ice cream, it arrived and it was huge! Had a nice and warm crispy shell and great vanilla ice cream inside. Also came with some strawberries on the bottom but they were very tangy. All in all, we will definitely be back to try some other menu items and some cocktails! Nice place, friendly staff and great food!

Kaela A.

Yelp
My experience at Cherrity Bar was awful. Our server Sophia H did not have good customer service. We were a party of 10 for my bday dinner. As soon as we arrived our server was snappy with all of us and had a terrible attitude, she also spilled a drink on one of us and still added it to our bill. We were eating inside and there were still flies and mosquitoes swarming us while we were trying to eat. After having the worst experience, a 20% tip was added to all of our bills. I understand that is required when it is a big party. I have no problem tipping, but when the service is awful and expecting that much of a tip is insane.

Margaret N.

Yelp
The quality of food here is tantalizing. We started with their edamame that was so flavorful and crisp. We tried a pork dish and a ramen, both of which were fantastic. With our meals we also had some mixed drinks, all of which were fantastic. Long story short, we absolutely recommend this place to any ramen lovers.

Monica L.

Yelp
Great happy hour appetizers and cocktails. Sampler with pork, chicken, mushroom with 3 different sauces and pork katsu sliders were delicious. Meatballs a little hard and chicken skewers just ok.

April K.

Yelp
Ramen was amazing! Loved the charred edamame. Great place and Eric G. was phenomenal!!

Kathleen N.

Yelp
After a long day of traveling, having a bowl of ramen from this restaurant was the best choice! My boyfriend and I both decided to get the tonkotsu ramen with their homemade spicy chili paste (additional $1, well worth it!). The broth was so rich and not salty like other ramen spots. We also received a complimentary order of charred edamame on the house for being first time visitors! Definitely a most stop place if you're craving ramen in San Antonio!

Tiffany T.

Yelp
It was busy but we enjoyed playing board games while we drank & waited. I ordered the Paloma & my husband ordered the penicillin. As a disclaimer Palomas are my favorite drink. But this was not good. It was heavy on the club soda & not enough grapefruit or tequila. I'm not a wasteful person so I still finished it but it took me the whole meal to finish sipping it. I also wished they added tajin on the rim instead of salt. The braised oyster mushrooms was extremely salty. The bao was very underwhelming since it's not a traditional bao. More of a pulled pork Bao. They should rename it to texas or southern style bao. The kushitaki mushroom was perfect! The texture, flavor and presentation was on point! Tonkatsu, Tantanmen, & katsudon we're so good! Only complaint is the rehydrated mushrooms tasted slimy. The manager and waitor was very attentive. There's still room for improvement but overall we would come again and try more of the menu.

N O.

Yelp
Delicious Roasted Herring & Welcoming Environment! Cucumber drink paired perfectly with it.

Heather M.

Yelp
A friendly staff was not quite enough to overcome Cherrity's challenges. The outdoor dining area is in need of a deep clean, and an overall refreshment. The bartender was helpful, but failed to mix a well balanced Aviation cocktail. The miss left the botanicals of Aviation gin too forward, and in competition with the creme de violette.

Nate T.

Yelp
My friends and I had an event to go to at the Alamodome and noticed this ramen spot. We decided to eat here before the show and we were pleasantly surprised! We came a little before opening but we were seated and taken care of immediately! Shoutout to Gwen for providing excellent service and for recommending delicious food items! We started out with a few appetizers: chicken yakitori, kushishitake, kushikatsu, and gyoza. The yakitori was good, the sauce really brightened the chicken up in terms of flavor. The gyoza was appropriately chewy and had a but of crunch from the pan fried side. The kushikatsu was cooked to a perfect crisp, meaty fans would love this. The star appetizer to me was the kushishitake! I normally don't care for mushrooms but these were marinated in some kind of sweet soy sauce and it was incredibly tasty! It was also perfectly deep fried and has an incredible spicy mayo sauce to add more flavor! We were also given roasted edamame which had excellent char and a bit of saltiness! For my main dish, I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. The broth was flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly! It also had more of those delicious mushrooms! The eggs were marinated and softboiled with a creamy yolk. A strong ramen and I recommend it if you come here! Our experience at Cherrity Bar was an absolute pleasure! I would love to come back here again if only for those mushrooms! Good food, good service! This place deserves your business!

Sergio A.

Yelp
First time trying cherrity bar and was pleasantly surprised. Service was excellent and owner spoke with us about restaurant and even gave use edamame appetizer since first time. Only came for drinks and appetizers which we're both good but will return to try the ramen. If Near alamodome suggest you give this place a try.

Alexis A.

Yelp
Only giving it a 2 star because our waitress was an angel. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and it tasted like water? Turns out, the kitchen forgot to add the seasoning. Whatever, fine, the waitress offered another dish for the inconvenience. Honestly forgot the name of the dish but had egg, rice, and chicken. All was going well until I found a type of wire in my noodles (????) Honestly would NEVER expect that in my food. Chef personally came out and apologized to my table which is respectable, but a free entree won't do.

Patricia M.

Yelp
Invited by coworkers for yoga. Figure why not! After attempting to work out, stayed for dinner & drinks. We ended up waiting due to the size of our party. Will say we had the crispy wings which were pretty crunchy & solid size. The wings hot and fresh, seasoned perfectly. The ramen soup was amazing. Honestly I was skeptical about even trying the soup.

Titus W.

Yelp
Their oyster mushroom appetizer is the best mushroom I've ever had in my life as an Asian guy. Ramen was above average.

Shannon S.

Yelp
Peyton and BJ were so great! I really love the atmosphere here and the Ramen is good. The cocktail of the month was awesome too.

Rose G.

Yelp
I was never a fan of noddles before until I came here. Ernie know exactly what he is doing and most times, I cant stop eating it after Im full. Soo delicious!

Lela B.

Yelp
I didn't get pictures but I had dinner here a couple nights ago with a friend and how disappointing. The Kimchi and pork (I believe) dumplings were not good. We both got the Tonkotsu ramen and both agreed it was not the best we've ever had or want again. I've eaten here a couple times in the past but don't remember disliking it like I do now. We did have a good michalada and pina colada. The service was great as well. The restaurant itself is pretty cool and welcoming. I'll probably try it again at some point but it's going to be a while.

Brittany C.

Yelp
We came here for happy hour and sat outside with our dog. The food and experience was significantly dampened by the amount of flies that were all over people's tables, food, and drinks. We couldn't eat without having to constantly bat the flies away or put a "sacrifice" out. They need to do something about this because I feel like this is a health hazard. If they can't control the flies, they may want to consider closing the outdoor seating. I would like to visit again when they have this issue addressed.

Cam M.

Yelp
Very very good. From the atmosphere, to the open kitchen, this place is golden. I will be revisiting

Richard H.

Yelp
Great service, drinks where excellent.. food was also bomb! They where out of dessert but Will be back!

Chris H.

Yelp
Delicious, The vinegar soy sauce mix is the best dipping soy sauce I've ever had, and I've lived in Okinawa Japan for 3.5 years. Gyoza is very good and the ramen is also good- very good, the Edamame is recommended charred and on the grill with light bbq sauce is absolutely delicious and i don't care for edamame, but their recommendation of it was very appreciated. Overall some of the best ramen and absolutely killer appetizers

Jade M.

Yelp
We met up with a group of friends here for happy hour. We were a large group and were seated on the patio. Like other reviews have said, unfortunately there are a lot of flies. They had little fly fans on the table which helped a little bit, however, it definitely doesn't make your meal enjoyable when you're constantly having to swat away flies from your food. We were given complimentary charred edamame which was very yummy. During happy hour all of the appetizers and small plates are half off. We sampled the gyoza, chicken wings, chiccharon, and meatballs. My favorite was the meatballs - the sauce was a nice combination of savory and sweet. Our server James was very attentive even with us having a large group and made sure we had drink refills and that we were all able to order drinks and apps before happy hour ended. I would like to come back to sit indoors and try their ramen next time.

Joshua T.

Yelp
10/10 highly recommend. Got seated as soon as we arrived, party of 3. The staff was super nice and the food was incredible.

Rachael B.

Yelp
Loved the outdoor seating with heat lamps. They have a lot of open space to hangout after eating when the weather is nice. I also saw an outdoor stage. I really enjoyed the grilled veggies and wings and the buns. 2 friends weren't impressed with their noodle dishes, but they are noodle foodies. I'm looking forward to coming back on a nice day to hang outdoors with a drink and app.

Charles B.

Yelp
Oh boy where do I start. Visiting from California and they were a block and a half from our VIRBO. First night we went they had a problem in the kitchen and could not open. We came back 2 nights later and sooooooo glad we did. Our server Ray was the BOMB!! PJ also came out and was so helpful. Oh yeah, the food was amazing Tonkotsu was so so good. Everything we had was delicious. The drinks were good also. Did I mention that the food was amazing?? Such a nice staff and they have made a super cool neighborhood dining place that is very unique and fun to visit. Did I mention that the food was amazing?? We so recommend this place.

Ja M.

Yelp
Such a fun place! Happy hour is 5-7pm with appetizers half price. They have a full bar and feature a few local beers, no Sapporo or Kirin, though. The tonkatsu ramen was divine! The noodles were settled al dente in the broth just right, the pork was cut nice and thin and the shiitake mushrooms were squeaky :). I received a complimentary serving of charred edamame as it was my first time there. And by the way: proceeds of your bill go to the selected charity of the month. It's a win-win-win!! There's also a patio for outdoor seating with heaters when it's cooler. The service was friendly and fantastic. Very much recommend!

William W.

Yelp
This place was such a great find! My wife and I were staying near the river walk and decided to explore other neighborhoods. We hoped on a couple of Bird Scooters and found out way to Cherrity Bar. The drinks were amazing (my wife loved the cucumber flavored one) and the food was mind blowing. We weren't really expecting great Asian fusion food but this place does it right! The edamame are a must order and the pork sliders were excellent.

B C.

Yelp
The food is always great! We ordered charred and spicy edamame. Not your typical edamame. Idk what the hell they do to it but it is superior. Fucking fight me. We also ordered tebasaki (the skin is fucking heaven) and the pickled ginger (at least is what I think it is) compliments the shit out of the wings. My current boyfriend ordered katsudon and I got the tonkotsu ramen. Superb! And not like the food isn't what brings us back but the service is perfect. John is a fucking angel. The whole place is a vibe. The lighting, the local art, the food, the drinks, the people! And I hate people but Cherrity Bar is what is right in this world. *Chefs Kiss.
